First and foremost, I hope you had a good Christmas and wish you a Happy New Year. Just hope it's better than 2020! Bit delayed watching this video as I've been a bit tied up...fed the pigeons in the back garden, walked from the kitchen to the lounge, had dinner with 'er indoors...the usual! stuff! That was a good session and the rig tying section was especially interesting and welcome. Yet another venue on my "to do" list. Another great video. Really appreciate the time and trouble you go to, to bring these venues and your exploits into our homes. Cheers. Keep safe. Ken
Merry Christmas Rod, keep up the good work. Your a fishing machine! Thoroughly enjoy your videos there detail, excellent camera work and your in my opinion relaxing narration.
Thanks Rod - another enjoyable video. I use something similar to your Sheppy rig to catch Blue Moki here in NZ. Hope you had a great Christmas and wishing you tight lines in 2021 😊
Very interesting video this one. I was along there a few weeks back and looked at this very mark and thought to myself this looks a comfortable place to fish. Was going to try and go there next week if poss for a couple of hours either side of high water. Will post up how i get on. Mark.
@@rodsangleuk6283 Yeah may well give it a go. Wonder if anyone was out in last nights weather. I woke this morning to find next door neighbours pop up greenhouse upside down in my yard. After handing it back they broke it up and dumped it in there scrap bin.
Hi there. I have just got home from fishing this exact same spot today. Blimey it was hard work plenty of bites but really difficult to hit them. Changed hook sizes and the rigs but i think the fish were on lockdown today. Flattie saved the blank right at high water and all way down to a couple of inches of water still loads of taps but just couldnt connect. Anyhow roll on next session yeah.
One of those brilliant leads that should be more popular, maybe because he wouldn’t sell out to the big boys. I bought mine direct some time ago, he did have an eBay site .
Hello the weight looks like a fox carp lead which I don't think they make any more but you can get a mould for on EBay hope this helps happy Christmas and happy fishing in the new year
Hi Rods Fox FX9 I think you said. I use shimano ultegra 5500 on my beach ledger rods. Both not designed for Sea use, but how do find the Fox? Looks as if has a longcast spool? Thanks for very informative stuff again. Just going to start building some Sheppey rigs for first time.
We used to make flat leads by using my nans soup spoon as the mould until she found out and give us a clip with the spoon 😁. The weights used to be around 3-4oz
Another cracking video rod, I keep calling you rod which I hope it is lol.. Always informative mate pity I'm in South Wales cause I'd love to give a few marks a go... Anyway thanks again another thumbs up pal 👍👍👍👍
Many thanks for the tip Peter. I had a look around that area not so long ago, but have never tried there - the closest I've fished to there was at Reculver.
Lovely video. Ive been following you since the summer. Simple fishing video's and very informative. Many thanks from the isle of wight 👍
Thank you very much and glad you like them Philip!

Same to you Robin - let's hope all of the restrictions lift soon!
Thanks Rod will have to try one of those sheppy rigs.
Nice one Gary - they are good to try if you are missing a lot of bites using flappers / clipped-down rigs.
Well done catching the flounder, it seems they're all on the Kent side!!
Thanks - yes seems that way!
Great video Rod ! Happy New Year 🥳
Thanks, you too Lee!
Not too bad of a session rod. Good angling.
Many thanks Neil.

Thanks Mark and it will be great to find out how you get on. Might be interesting fishing there in a strong on-shore gale.

Finnleads from Veals mail order are good flat leads, they do wired versions as well
Thanks for that Chris.

@@martinpaul6146 Just had a look on ebay, he is still on there, and still does these leads both wired or plain, ranging from 3oz to 6oz🎣

I do like the FX9s Martin - they are mini big pit reels and the long cast spools help. Very smooth as well - a good match for the Arcadias.

Well done mick you r so good at fishing i know a lot more now i have been watching your videos happy new year

Maybe you should give apple-bay a try between Minnis Bay and Margate you could catch cod bass flat fish

Iv'e been keeping my eye on the chaps down the bank and they have not caught anything.
It's a slow time of the year at the moment - should pick up in the next couple of weeks or so. Thanks for watching and commenting John.

I eat to fish, rather than fish to eat - but you do have a point. Thanks for watching Alexander.
