What works for me is to use a mechanical alarm clock, set across the room from my bed, but also set an alarm on my phone for about three minutes before the bell rings. The iPhone alarm is soothing, but when I hear it I know I need to hurry and get out of bed so I don’t have to also hear the loud, jarring alarm bell. The alarm bell is A.) An incentive for me to get out of bed on time, and B.) A safeguard in case I don’t.
I use sleep cycle, it’s an alarm clock app that tracks your sleep and also wakes you up in a 30 minute window before your set alarm. It picks up when you’re on the lighter stage of your deep sleep (or REM sleep) they also have sleep aids to help you drift off. I’ve been using it for 3 years and it has helped tremendously.
My alarm is a group of people giving an applause and 'woohooo-ing' me. It always gives me a smile when i hear it cause its so 'dumb' but it actually works ❤

Tongue scraping is such an important thing to do for your daily oral health. Thank you for sharing that with your followers. Tongue scraping can also prevent frequent sore throats. You don't necessarily need a tongue scraper to get the job done, using a metal spoon works just as well.
I read “Stolen Focus” last year and one thing that it talks about is how important day dreaming and mind wandering is for creativity and memory. I saw a video very recently from darling desi where she has started dedicating 10-20 minutes to day dreaming in the mornings. I’ve found this is so helpful for slowing down and not getting caught up in the unhealthy side of productivity- especially if you do it before looking at your phone!
Limiting my screen time before bed and when I wake up has been that hardest thing to quit! It's crazy! I will keep trying though. 😊 This video is just what I needed Lena! Thank you!
As someone who has made it a habit to make my bed right when I wake up, I can confirm that if I don’t do this I will be moody the rest of the day especially coming home from school
When you develop a consistent sleep routine your body will respond in such a way that you will wake without the sound of the alarm. I actually use my alarm to tell me that it is time to get up instead of actually waking me.

Interesting and inspiring video! One thing I've been doing every morning for the past few months is yoga. I know it sounds like a task, but it's not at all! I adjust the duration of yoga according to the time I have available. Sometimes it's five minutes, sometimes ten or fifteen... It helps me get rid of stiffness in the morning and start my day productively. I recommend, for those who want to start, looking for morning yoga on youtube :)
I have never enjoyed journaling. I’ll do it for a day or two and then I just can’t. However, when I started “rating the day” it changed. I would give a rate of 1-10 for the day and then write out why I gave it that number and for some reason I liked it way more. I haven’t been great about it, but I definitely feel like it works better for me.
Another tip for the morning that helped me a lot was NO SNOOZE BUTTON. Having a snooze button literally gives you a choice in the morning to go back to sleep, and ik I’m gonna press that button if I have a choice 😭.
I have my alarm set to “Birdsong” on my iPhone. It’s birds chirping! So easy to wake up to. And I love the “what are you doing?! what are you doing?!” on every video! So funny!

Hey I love this helpful video for real and you are right about he tongue thing but dentists have confirmed to me and also online that tongue scraping every day is not good. Just once or twice a week is fine. That's actually good bacteria you are scrapping off, since you already brushed your teeth the night before. Anyway I don't meant critique, just want to help! ✌️
This is such a great video!! I have trouble with morning movement mainly just because I live in a dorm that is incredibly tiny and I don't want to take up a lot of space. I find that stretching in bed works great and helps you become more mindful of how you feel.
Great video! I've been trying to wake up earlier and spending time outside first thing everyday. It's going to be easier as it gets warmer. I CANNOT do the 90 minute delay with coffee. My car's transmission died, and I'm saving to purchase another. In the meantime, my morning routine has changed because I am walking to work. Made me realize I'm not outside enough and I like eating a little bit etc the forced change has been very beneficial

I definitely think it's gonna be a journal prompt guidebook of some sort! And if it isn't, it should be, because the prompts from older videos were really helpful and intentional! Also, for alarms, you can even use your favorite song to start your day by connecting spotify to your alarm app!

I'm a morning person at the point i get mad if I overslept and loose the chance to rise with the sun. I also have class at 8am an my last class lets me get home at 9pm. I want to have a morning routine but i gotta be efficient if i want my almost 9 hours of sleep so i meal prep breakfast to go, I eat in my university before class so i also get the chance to get there early. I have packed instant coffee or tea bags in my backpack to drink on breaks. I have 20min yoga (almost) every morning because it makes me feel so good and i don't consider it a work out because I'll never work out that early

THE DOUBLE ALARM THING WORKS!!! Trust. I was never a morning person and now getting up isn’t as bad. U gotta try it. I got my phone set with nice sound on my nightstand the I have like 5 min to get up before the annoying one on my desk goes off and I have to get up to turn it off. And omg I run to that bloody clock it sound awful but it works!!!!
I need a relaxing music as alarm because I noticed that for me it's just necessary an external sound to wake me up, and fortunately I don't need to keep my phone away because I always get up when I have to. It's so stressing for me to get up just to set off the alarm, I need 1-2mins to realise that I have to start my day hahahah

Hey I love this helpful video for real and you are right about he tongue thing but dentists have confirmed to me and also online that tongue scraping every day is not good. Just once or twice a week is fine. That's actually good bacteria you are scrapping off, since you already brushed your teeth the night before. Anyway I don't meant critique, just want to help! ✌️
This is such a great video!! I have trouble with morning movement mainly just because I live in a dorm that is incredibly tiny and I don't want to take up a lot of space. I find that stretching in bed works great and helps you become more mindful of how you feel.
Great video! I've been trying to wake up earlier and spending time outside first thing everyday. It's going to be easier as it gets warmer.
I CANNOT do the 90 minute delay with coffee. I can go 15 minutes before I feel like I'm going completely bananas.

thank uuu, most of the time i have never time to do things in the morning bc im always really tired and i do everything in the evening, but i always get almost late to school bc i cant wake up and in the weekends i sleep till like 12 but i do set an alarm like if i dont do that i can sleep till 4pm and still feel tired, i dont know why im always tired :( waking up early is really hard for me so thanks for these tips!
My car's transmission died, and I'm saving to purchase another. In the meantime, my morning routine has changed because I am walking to work. Made me realize I'm not outside enough and I like eating a little bit etc the forced change has been very beneficial

I definitely think it's gonna be a journal prompt guidebook of some sort! And if it isn't, it should be, because the prompts from older videos were really helpful and intentional! Also, for alarms, you can even use your favorite song to start your day by connecting spotify to your alarm app!

For an alarm I strongly recommend the “Bell tower” sound. It’s loud but also soothing.😊
I'm a morning person at the point i get mad if I overslept and loose the chance to rise with the sun.
I also have class at 8am an my last class lets me get home at 9pm. I want to have a morning routine but i gotta be efficient if i want my almost 9 hours of sleep so i meal prep breakfast to go, I eat in my university before class so i also get the chance to get there early.
I have packed instant coffee or tea bags in my backpack to drink on breaks.
I have 20min yoga (almost) every morning because it makes me feel so good and i don't consider it a work out because I'll never work out that early
Can't wait to get started on some of these tips! I'm going to slowly start adding things into my mornings to build it the perfect way for me!

I need a relaxing music as alarm because I noticed that for me it's just necessary an external sound to wake me up, and fortunately I don't need to keep my phone away because I always get up when I have to. It's so stressing for me to get up just to set off the alarm, I need 1-2mins to realise that I have to start my day hahahah
