- The Crochet Building Blocks Throw completed puts m back to my childhood, in my mind. The blanket consists of 4 different types of building blocks. There is a 1 dot, 2 dots, 4 dots and 6 dots block. The formula is pretty much the same as it's a mix of single crochet rows and half double crochet rows.
I felt some information may be missing from the pattern, so you will see in the tutorial I will be explaining 4 dots and 6 dots variation with information to help you be consistent with your counts.
The blocks are made in rows but with each, there is a final round. You will notice the blocks will have a slight lean that is caused by the half double crochet. Don't panic, it will straighten up as the border for each block will do that for you.
There is new sewing required. It's a single crochet join. The border follows the premise of alternating between single crochet and half double crochet rounds. There is a total of 5 rounds with the last round just being a slip stitch around.
I think this is a perfect personalized gift for children and grown-ups who just love the building blocks. It's a throwback to memories.

This is awesome! Can it be done with Bernat Pop Full Spectrum 280 yards yarn? Is there enough yarn in each section to make the largest block?
Very pretty blanket, thanks for tutorial.

Thanks for sharing
Wow amazing 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👌🏼👍🏼
Amei!!
I had to come back and say....it must have been caused by tension on that one block because the rest of them were fine. I redid it and it fits right as it should. Now I'm a happy camper.
Hi. Can you explain how to attach the 1 dot squares to the 6 dot square. I don’t have enough stitches on the 6 dot square to attach the 3 dots square.
Might sounds weird, im kinda new to crochet, but can i use different yarn weight to crochet different lego blocks? Would it look bad in the end? thanks for the reply and the tutorial
So cute
Do you think that you could just stack 2 middles in top of each other to have them raised?
Love this tutorial. Can you please tell me for the 4 dot block, what the starting chain count is as it is not on the pattern. Thanks
It appears to be ch 27 as in the 2 block? That's what I took it as.
What yarn did you use for this project?
How do you attach the 3 dot square to the 6 dot square. There isn’t enough stitches on the 6 dot square. HELP
Love it! But my baby boy is almost 19, doesn’t want one anymore...
I am at Row 26 of the 4-dot square and I don't understand why it says 'do not turn'. By my calculations, Row 26 was a hdc row. What am I reading wrong? Help!!
Did you figure it out cause it's throwing me off?
@@jennifermiller1223 I'm disappointed that I never did get a response. Not the first time Yarnspirations has ignored a question about pattern discrepancy :( Oh well, carry on. Rather than create another row to take me back to the upper right hand corner of the block (or break yarn and attach to upper right corner), I simply started doing my sc round from the end of that last row. That meant working down the side first, across the bottom, up the other side and across the top. Seemed to work for me. My throw is assembled and I'm just sewing in the dots. Yeah, decided to to that last so the dots would line up from block to block. Good luck with your project.
You will put the hook in your left hand if your right handed and don't turn just crochet back across the run the at end go back across right handed then at end go back with left hand etc do not turn
I’m about to start thei great blanket for my Grandson, any hints as I’m not good yet.
Does anyone got a pic of their blanket. Many thanks 💜
Check on Raverly
Mikey I count the stitches the same way!
I’m currently on the 4 square dot and 6 dot rectangle. On the 27th row it says “do not turn” do you think that’s a typo?
I turned thinking it was a mistake.
Man baby! Lol
For the four dot square you say don’t turn for the 26 row how can you do row 27 without turning your work
Could you please give me the measurements for this blanket?
I am trying to check my gauge. 13 sts does equal 4 inches. But 13 rows does NOT equal 4 inches. Mine equals 5 inches. I even tried changing the hook size but I can't get 13 rows to equal 4 inches. Thoughts? Could this be an error on the pattern?
Focus on the width and the rest should work out. You may just be a little loose in the vertical direction. I think if you are consisistent, it should work out.
@@TheCrochetCrowd Thank you! That's my plan plus the video tutorial is of great help!
I'm sure I must be doing something wrong. My 6 dot squares are 37 stitches. When you lay 3-1 dot squares above, that's only 33 stitches. I am short 1 Square on each row that doesn't have a 6 dot square. I plan to fix it by adding 4 white 1 dot squares but that doesn't show me what I've done wrong 😾🙀 Anyone else have this issue?
