While I am a huge New York Giants fan I base my opinions via “status”. I look at statics, analytics and review game film. I spent over 25 years off and on working in the sport for Two NFL teams, Two AFL teams and two known worldwide networks in their NFL Divisions.
You may not agree with my “take”, but rest assured I researched and sometimes even reached out to former NFL contacts before I based my conclusion.
Some call me a homer, some say I am mean and hate the New York Giants, but I love my team and the sport! I just want to provide fact-based information in a timely matter and let you the New York Giants fans draw your own conclusion!

I agree Tim. Definitely something to worry about with Shoen. Seems like he doesn’t know too much of what he’s doing.
There is one thing you are forgetting about the 2022 season, 3:10 DJ got us the most first downs not including his arm, that also includes the most 3rd down conversions. He wasnt picking up 50 yards but he also gave the team alot of second chances on drives, how many easy catches did we see that were dropped on third down, how many times did we see SB dance instead of getting the first down. Granted, thats not entirely SB fault, dj suffers from a bad oline, and that includes any rb who played behind the same oline. Im not worried about JS, we will figure it out this season.
Sadly Tim you’re 100% right. We’re stuck with DJ for at least two more years unless he gets injured (again) which has been his modious operandi. This team is truly depressing due to the powers that be.
Wasn't going to matter if it was Barkley, Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Erik Dickerson, Gale Sayers or Walter Payton.
I would have fired Schoen the second Jones contract went on the table for signing.
considering that John Mara had to be on board with the Jones contract, firing the GM wasn't an option.
This feels like a naive take to me. Schoen is responsible for acquiring 4 of our biggest defensive cornerstones (Bobby O, Kayvon, banks, and burns). He signed our other cornerstones to really good long-term deals (AT and DEX), maybe a SLIGHT overpay for DJ, but it was a team friendly contract with an out after this season if we want it. He is responsible for all 3 of our young WRs who all have a high ceiling (Nabers with endless potential, and Hyatt + Robinson showing really good flashes), and we actually do have money, and a healthy cap hit next season. In addition we got our first playoff win in a decade, whether it was a fluke or not, and he did ALL of this the worst OLine in football AND within 2 seasons after GETTLEMEN and JOE JUDGE….
Yet because he didn’t want to overpay an injury prone RB who’s getting older in a pass heavy league, and you think you’re a body language expert watching the staff reactions in hard knocks, all of a sudden he’s a shitty GM? What world are you living in? How do you look at this team and genuinely say “we are worse off than we were before with LESS talent” ??
Great video. I agree, Schoen seems insecure yet overconfident in his own bullshit. He does not actually seem very cerebral. Lots of flippant remarks that are total horseshit. He does not strike me as a creative guy. He also does not seem to have in depth opinions and conviction on players in general.

@@garyhamalainen1651 Seems to me that there’s a lot of empty space in Schoen’s head since he first declined Jones’s option, then negotiated against himself to sign Jones to a $40 million per year deal, and now he wants to either pivot next year or keep Jones another 10 years.
@@joeys6627 Picking up Jones' 5th year option might have been a good call in hindsight, we get to second guess that stuff, they obviously weren't comfortable with it. I think people are taking that "signing Jones for the next ten years" way too literally.

Chris Rosetti at least seems to have his own independent thoughts and analysis. Rosetti actually seems like a guy you might want as a GM. He is thinking about how his own players compare to available players. Schoen is not sure if he wants Jones for one year or 10 years. That’s how insanely clueless he is. How do you possibly want to lock Jones in for 10 years while ignoring all future QB prospects for the next 10 years. Daniel is not a Mahomes or Josh Allen type guy, or even close to that.
this is the first I'm hearing of ANYONE entertaining the idea of signing DJ for 10 years. He'd have to play some lights out FB this year, which probably isn't all that likely.

This team is no better today going into year 3 with Joe then it has been over the last 10 years. The roster is mid and the cap is a disaster, same as it was when Gettleman was sitting in that seat....shall we even mention Joe's questionable draft history
coming OUT of year three is far more important to me than how things look going into it........ unless you are sure of what is going to happen this season, like so many seem to be. GO Giants!!
Good to see a new video Tim! I think you may be the only voice in giant land that says the things I'm thinking lol. I have never liked the decision to hire Joe because basically I had never heard of him. I'm not sure what is going on with this team but they sure as hell aren't trying to win. It's obvious! It's hard watching the team you grew up with and literally fought for make bad choice after bad choice! How do you not fix the o line, how do you screw the cap every year, how do you let your best player JUST walk, and how the hell do you sign your name on a contract that pays Daniel Jones enough money to solve the homeless problem in your state!?!? Idk about any of you guys but I would have rather seen the Giants house ny's homeless and play drew than have to worry about how this dip shit is gonna ruin every fans Sunday for years to come

Every year he does a 180 on Daniel Jones😂. Now Schoen wants to give Jones a 10 year extension if he has a good year. Total lunacy

Joe did the right thing when it comes to Barkley he’s still a good back top 5 back. Now, when it comes to his drafts and free agent signings he missed badly on Waller hit on Bobby O. Evan Neal and Brian Burns are still a question marks?

After the first season, I had hope.
But looking at his total body of work including letting Saquon walk while paying Jones just makes me think Joe is a total ass clown.
Saquon was a pretty good player who gave it his all...... time for somebody else to pay him the big bucks. I think Nabers might have a bigger impact on the team in the long run..... and that's what ya' need ....... a whole team.

This is justs Tims frustration with dj has gotten him again, i think most giants fans are logical until their emotions get in the way. I'ce disagreed with him before many times but now its reaching to the staff, all becuase of dj lmfao. He wouldnt be putting this much hate towards the gm if we drafted a qb which is funny becuase alot of us have a feeling that Nabers is going to succeed with the giants. If Ritchie james could have a career year with dj then why cant Nabers? Ya feel me, thats just haterade talking for those disagreeing.

Didn't think of the fraud complex. So the Nepolean is the mask to cover the fraud which is his true self.
Second thought is that Mara is forcing Joe to be portrayed as he is to cover his meddling, and make him out to be the good guy. Afterall he has been getting a beating from certain sections of the fanbase as being a meddlesome owner. If I am correct; it is an easy blackmail do this or else.
I guess we will have to see as the series progresses.

I happen to like JS and you do not. Who cares..... doesn't matter. But does he have "too much control"?? In a word..... no. He's the GM, he's a boss working for John Mara, who is probably giving him more leeway in making personnel decisions than some previous GMs, which Mara had said he was going to do.... let his pro personnel people do their jobs. Last year was a disaster, anyone can see that much. I wouldn't read too much into the Barkley saga. Neither Schoen nor Daboll believe in building around a running back. They want to have a versatile passing offense which I think is beginning to take shape. Malik Nabers has the potential to be more of an impact player than any RB. Joe Schoen will likely look much better as this season plays out.

Your reading too much into this, he knows he made a mistake with Daniels contract, still does not mean Saquon should have been paid top dollar. The gimme gimme fans will eat this up. HBO will do this to a fan base. Relying on hyped up storylines gives you the wrong perspective

GM Joe Schoen is definitely not the late great Giants GM "George Young" 👍. Joe Schoen is more like a "One Hit Wonder" GM.

He has just the amount of control he needs. For far too long the Giants as an organization have been run by nepotism. That’s why they could never get a serious GM to come in and fix the mess they created. Joe Schoen was guaranteed (prior to taking the job) that he would be able to operate with autonomy. If he fails he gets fired, if he succeeds then it’s all good. I don’t know where any owner (not a football executive -trained and paid to do one thing and one thing only) ever interferes with the real Football execs and helps the team. Jerry Jones has been meddling for years and it’s not helpful. He drives coaches and GM’s away.
Im not too worried about Mara at all, i think people are full of shit when they say he controls the team, literally only pissy people who dislike dj and random giants fans say that. Im not worried about Dabol and im not worried about Joe, im skeptical about our oline coach, and i was never a fan of Mike Kafka, hes Jason Garrett .5 when he was our OC.
