This is why I roll my eyes every time I see an article talking about how Jalin Hyatt only had 370 yards his rookie season.
Evan Neal was SO BAD that by the time Giants QB's back foot hit, they had to start running for their lives so OF COURSE the receivers running deep routes weren't getting passes thrown in their direction!
I think he would be a great burger flipper. They should just tell him, "guard or burgers".

It's Evan Neal's job to put up good tape, don't feel bad because he is incapable of doing his job. If Schoen and Daboll were considering moving Neal to guard, he would be getting reps at the position in OTAs and camp. That is not what is happening. They want him to fight for his job and not have the idea of moving to guard as a safety net for him. It's sink or swim time with Neal at tackle as it should be.
Neal is demanding that he play tackle. Time for the coach to burst his bubble.
I can't believe how Neal was considered a great player in college. He doesn't belong in the NFL. The scouts really blew it.
The giants have drafted more o lineman in the last 10 yrs than almost any other team. Our failures have been coaching. I think our new o line coach carm bricello is a real coach. I still believe in neal
Hard to blame coaching when Andrew Thomas became an all-pro with the same coaches. I hope coaching is the reason, but it seems extremely unlikely.
And somehow my dumb Giants fans still want to draft o lineman lol

Neal was mocked to go #1 to Jacksonville. That entire trade down with Chicago was & still is a dumpster fire. So many horrible ramifications that will live on for years to come.

That last play you show Neal does what he supposed to. They are running hitches and flats. The ball supposed to come out ASAP. If you look both tackles are diving at the defenders legs on that play. Its because the ball is supposed to be out and they are trying to get both defensive ends to keep their hands down and not deflect the pass that's supposed to be flying past there heads.
At the very least, Neal should have been put on notice that there is a competition for RT with Eluemunor.
You I’m from NY but live in Alabama and let me tell you guys one last time. Guys from Alabama DONT LIKE NY AT ALL. He never wanted to be there. And he played like it and did everything he could to be traded and still we kept him🤔 the scouts for the giants that year he was drafted did not do there research on Alabama players. I’m telling y’all Alabama players want to go to a winning team or else they not gonna play well. And fyi im sorry to say we have another player we just drafted this year that will ultimately do the same thing. And I think you know who im talking about. Hint LSU WR 😂

There’s a video on RUclips with Evan Neal’s college highlights and he was playing left tackle. Why did the Giants draft him for right tackle and why are they trying to force it? Try him at left guard. We already have a great left tackle.

Just because he was a stud at Alabama doesn’t mean that transfers to the NFL. I’m rooting for him but I think he’s a bust. Doesn’t play well when healthy and looks overmatched.
Bricillo will make him into a starting O-Lineman so we can trade him for a CB or draft capitol
On the play where Neal tried to cut Crosby, the tackle on the other side did the same exact thing, making it seem like it was the “right” thing to do??

Hey Jackson, the kid has plenty of talent, he has been injured for the most part of his career; I will give him this season to prove himself, God willing he will be injury free and be able to prove himself. Let's get it done, ny Giants...

@kidfopo his top 5 1st round grade was based of him being the Best Left Tackle in CFB. He's never played left tackle for the Giants. Should've traded him last year so he can go play the actual position that got him to the NFL. Giants ruined this Kid from Day 1.
@marlymarlle I understand that and I hope he can play better based on better coaching and him actually being healthy this year but I think bobby Johnson sucking as an oline coach hurt his development more so than him changing positions

Real optimism is putting players in a position to succeed and having faith that they will follow the course laid out for them.

Evan Neal has def been dogshit so far but you said the cut block Evan Neal did against Crosby wasn't a designed play when there's so much clear evidence it is. Isaiah Hodgins at the top of the screen is clearly blocking right off the snap in case Devito wants to throw to Saquon in the flat. And Andrew Thomas on the other side of the line is doing the exact same thing. This seems more on Devito panicking than anything. I think too many ppl don't have a working understanding of what players are asked to do and make videos like this when there are much better examples.
Before I watch I will say coaching was absolutely terrible but he also has the balance of a toddler
I liked the guy that ended up on the Seahawks better. Not necessarily at 7.He was the best pass blocker in the draft, and had played the right side earlier.

Neal played LT, RT, and guard in college and last year was his 2nd year at RT in the NFL.
He's played more positions on the oline than most.

He's a huge guy who has poor balance, inability to redirect and cannot remain in contact with his man. He's like a one of those huge cargo ships that takes 2 miles to turn or stop. He also may just not be a glass eater b/c he doesn't play up to his size, even in the run game, almost never physically dominates in close quarters.
It's the coaching I think in this situation. It's the only conclusion to why Daboll still has Neal at LT. He has to feel they have good oline coach now.
Im interested in watching him this season. I think there was a team morale problem...

Hes slow lazy and won't put the work in to get better, when your bigger then every one from preschool to college you start to feel like you never need to work to get better. Then he gets to the nfl where everyone is ridiculously good and you start to see he needs to get better but does he want too?
He's always on the ground, and his brain/body processing is too slow for this level. He looks clueless most of the time!
