  • In this video I will unbox and install the OVS 270 Awning.
This thing is massive! If you're looking for a full coverage awning at a sensible price point, look no further.

1st deployment of it and I'm impressed. Can't wait to do a little beach BBQ under it and not get sunburnt lol

Nice! I'm going to install the OVS LT on my 1st gen Taco soon (comes w/2 brackets instead of 3). As far as hardware I've only found 8 bolts though, 4 longer ones and 4 shorty's. I assume the 4 longer are for the awning channel side, which only leaves 2 shorter ones per mount on the truck/rack side. Hmmm, I think I need 4 more bolts for the truck side (like you ended up doing). I have 2 Prinsu racks, cab and bed racks. Looking forward to the awning. Thx for the Vid!

Just bring them to your local hardware store and they should be able to match them for you if you need extras. Enjoy it man! Its a great awning.

Great video! Did you use longer bolts on the bracket to rail?

I did since my rack/those risers added some depth

I have a Prinsu rack like yours and I was wondering if I can mount it to it?

Cab rack or bed rack? The over cab rack wouldn't provide enough support for how far back you have to mount it IMO. A normal awning would work fine mounted up right to it.

@@tacosauce4x4 I have to mount it on the cab rack, maybe some spacers will do the job!
      Thanks for the reply

@@newyorknewyork1649 but if you want it to actually wrap around the back just know it will cover your bed. Unless that's what you're going for 🤘

Do we have to buy the bracket separately?

That thing is sweet! Did you consider putting in on the side of your roof rack (prinsu?) ? I don't have a bed rack, so I'm curious if it would work up there.

Its amazing. We've been putting it to use all this week out in the mountains and you really can't beat it. Totally saves you from the heat of the day.
I did consider it, but its twice the size of the cab rack, so that would mean that more than half of it is unsupported when opened and wrapped around the back. Also it would interfere with my tent if it was mounted higher and I wouldn't be able to prop open the passenger side vent/window

Not sure what you're referring to? They may have updated the mounting design since I posted this video; it's been over 2 years.

Did you just use 2 of the brackets? I don’t have a place to mount a third?

This is the LT that is 53lbs or the Std which is 72lbs i believe?

I was able to comfortably lift and mount it myself, so definitely not 72lbs 😅

@@tacosauce4x4 I think you're stronger than you think, the LT is listed at 52 lbs pretty sure. The Nomadic weighs more like above comment says.
