We have the same awning on our camper and I agree, would definitely purchase again.

Was checking youtube for a video with the OVS 270 plus a smartcap and see you have both. I was worried the side hatches would not clear when its open, but it looks like the struts are spaced so the gull wing will just slightly push up the canopy between them. They just had a 10% off sale so I pulled the trigger on the new blackout 270. thanks for the review.

I have the same awning on our trailer and love it. I do always use the legs and tie it down. When it was raining did you use the legs?

Hi Michael, Appreciate you checking out the video. I do use the legs when the rain is more than a drizzle. This definitely also helps avoid puddling on the awning. Overall I’ve been extremely happy with the awning. Thanks for the message and thanks for subscribing.

With regards to the weight. If you had it to do over. Would you go with a lighter model such as the 270LT or even the 180?? Thx

@mikebeatty1111 Hey Mike, Thanks for checking out my review. You ask a great question and there is a lot to consider. With my current HD truck, I would not change anything. Now on the other hand If I was to mount this on my Gladiator or a Mid-Size vehicle such as a Wrangler, Tacoma, 4Runners’s, etc… I would make weight savings my first priority. I think it is important to first consider where do you cook or prep food on your trips? Obviously, a 180 (Side Mounted) will commit you to one side. Many people like and build a rear kitchen set up. I just take a table to the side and that works for me when the weather calls for it. For me a 180 would be my Mid-size vehicle preference. Cheers and thanks for subscribing.
