I just got my new nomadic 270XD blackout installed today and its very nice- upgraded from the base model with powder coated aluminum throughout and comes with LED lights on 3 of the arms, super nice. So far im very happy with the quality of the arms and welds.

I have the ovs 270 lte smaller one. On 17 Silverado rack over the bed mounted. Perfect compact shade. In fl it’s perfect. Me and the wife just pop chairs out and chill many unique places

Very nice! I would LOVE to have one of these on my truck. So very practical.

My offroad trailer came with the OVS 270. First trip out, a gust of random wind blew through camp and snapped the tow rear spreader bars. My fault. I didnt use the support poles or guy lines. I got home and called OVS and explained the issue. They asked for my address. I got two new replacement poles in a week, no charge! Thats customer service. I ALWAYS use the poles and guy lines and never use the awning in high winds. This past weekend in Montana it was blazing hot with a slight breeze. I used all the poles and guy lines. I STILL cracked a rear spreader bar. It cracked right at the weld. Im not sure how to avoid that in the future. They are aluminum and lightweight. For me, Im keeping the OVS rolled up and will use an EzUp going forward.

No matter how well made, equipment will fail.
Did you reach out to OVS about the cracked weld? I would imagine knowing you tied it down properly, they'd send you a replacement part.
Heck... even if you had to pay for it... its maintenance cost..
Stuff happens... even your EZUp isn't fool proof and who wants to hassle with set up and tear down of that?
      Not this guy...

Do you feel any heat under the awning because it looks thin? Nice review.

@@OneFlewOver1776 it reflects a good bit. Not that you feel no heat under, but the temp difference is substantial. I think it's a must have if you're in full sun a lot.

I like it a lot. It's a good value for the $$. If interested in more details here's a full review I did recently on it: ruclips.net/video/zNEW2l0vaa8/видео.html

Is it me, or is that weld discussed at 4:30 - 5:00 mark, really bad and weak?

Great question. The sun might make it look worse in video. But I believe it's just soot from magnesium.
