    Most modern vehicles have a very efficient air intake from factory. I have found throttle body spacers help some vehicles. It does add torque across the RPM range. Did you test the spacer separately from the intake ? I always make 1 change at a time.

      I probably should have but didn’t. Seeing as neither made a difference I can say there would have been no point in retrospect. I have had my eye on the Anderson engineering manifold spacer. Supposedly that helps to move the torque band lower, which is where these trucks need it.

      Hmm, yeah I would say it’s possible. The leads for the DRL are separate from the main bundle of wires, but do appear to use the wire bundles ground point. A: This TrailBlazer Series comes with three light modes: the main light source, yellow DRL (Daytime Running Light), and white DRL. As a result, this 6.5-inch driving light has four wires at its end - one negative and three positive. After using the included conversion cable, you will find two extended wires, one yellow and one white. The yellow wire is for controlling the yellow DRL, and you can connect it to the positive terminal of the turn signal as a position light. Most if not all intakes now days are cold air intakes from factory. Even a 2003 Tacoma with the 5vz had a cold air intake. I remember not being married and not having kids and waste a ton of cash trying 3 aftermarket intakes. At first you think they work because of the sound, after a while you start to doubt any gains. Every time I went back to stock the truck felt better. After 3 intakes I ended up just doing the elbow mod which was removing the elbow that connects the intake to the fender wall and was actually a restriction and that was free, imagine that. Finally someone honest 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I purchased the S&B closed air intake for my 2023 v6 Tacoma, I wasn’t expecting to get any gains from this besides a little more air flow and a better sound when I step on the gas pedal, and that is exactly what happened. Even though I don’t accelerate at top speed at every red light as if I’m driving a 4 cylinder Hyundai or a 1990 Altima, it’s nice to hear a better sound when getting on the Highway instead of that screaming cat noise that come from the OEM air filter box. One last thing my gas mileage stayed exactly the same .

      Yeah I’m always upfront with the mods and reviews that I do. There’s a lot of people who will make baseless claims when it comes to performance improvements, and that does nothing but put money in the pockets of manufacturers. Never understood it.

    Can you elaborate on why can't a slimline rack be installed, The canopy is to wide? Doesn't frontrunner have various sizes? I'm getting the contour installed in a few weeks was hoping to get a frontrunner rack on it.

    • @tacosauce4x4
      @tacosauce4x4 5 месяцев назад

      The dimensions of the mounting rails. They’re too wide to mount it straight on top. I had asked the distributor who I bought it from about a frontrunner rack specifically, he looked into it, and said no dice. I’m sure you could use some angled footings, but I wouldn’t risk a heavy load on that since now you’re putting torque on the mounting channels

    Did you insert the full length of the pipe cleaner down those holes ? Would the brush end pop out at the bottom?

    • @tacosauce4x4
      @tacosauce4x4 5 месяцев назад

      Only about two feet of it was needed. Remember, you want to work it almost like a q-tip. The goal is to pull stuff out, not push it down. If you go too far you can definitely end up pushing the rubber grommet off of the bottom so I wouldn’t use more than half of the length of the pipe cleaner.

      Damn I wish you mentioned that in the video, I stuck the whole entire thing down and def met a bit of resistance on the way back up. Any way I can find the bottom end to see if I damaged anything? Thanks

    @tacosauce4x4 Is there a need to increase the fuse size when adding additional lights to an OEM setup like this, or are the lights so small, they're just not drawing enough power for it to matter?

    I’ve been eyeing these for a while.. these or their mars series. What’s you opinion of them? I have their 3 inch dual color pods and have been happy with them aside from a small issue which they corrected.

      Still solid! One had some condensation starting in it so I opened it up and siliconed the seal and it’s been fine since. Obviously I stick by what I said in this video. They’re no Baja LP9s but definitely hold their own. They remind of my KC Daylighter floods from back in the day

    quick question. Does the tune fix the speedometer/odometer when going from stock tires/wheels to 33s?

    • @tacosauce4x4
      @tacosauce4x4 7 месяцев назад

      Nope. It’s about 2-3mph off when you go up to a 33in. You can have a shop recalibrate it though if you really want.

      Much appreciated! 1450. Figured better to have too much than not enough and it was perfect for the tent plus awning setup.

    Looks like you live in an area that is pretty rusty! I highly recommend getting some Amsoil HD spray on metal protector and covering pretty much your entire underbody. It's super tough stuff and lasts a very long time! About one good coat a year is all you need. It's mostly clear but has a bit of an amber color to it so keep it off the body but on the underbody it's hardly noticeable and works wonders!

      Yeah I use an off brand spray versions of fluid film every year and it does the job for the frame

    • @tacosauce4x4
      @tacosauce4x4 7 месяцев назад

      Yeah so when I made this clip I didn’t expect it to really be that popular. Seems like it’s a pretty prevalent problem though. If you truck still smells you might want to steam clean your carpets and stuff. Last thing you want is mold or mildew in the headliner

    • @aah089
      @aah089 7 месяцев назад

      Yeah I had no idea about cleaning sunroof drains. I had taken my truck to the dealer twice before they figured it out. Which was only after they told me my hood lights were the issue and that my third brake light was probably also the cause. They were wrong.

    Very good video. I bought a 21 with a magnaflow already on it. Way to loud. I researched a replacement, considered trd or oem but went with borla, price, ss and reputation. Much relief from constant drone.
