You were one of the first people to introduce me to cups. THANK YOU. I've only used a cup for three months but I don't picture myself going back to cotton products. Cups are an incredibly good fit for me.
I haven’t used tampons or disposable pads in three years. I use Thinx period panties and Charlie Banana washable pads. I just always felt like tampons were a huge waste. The only ones I found comfortable to use were Tampax Pearl, which have a plastic applicator. Even then, I just felt like they messed me up every month; like maybe sticking a hunk of cotton up my girlie Bits wasn’t the healthiest idea. Funny thing is that combining my plant based diet and not using plastics for my period caused my periods to lighten up. I am not bleeding as heavy anymore and my cramps are not as severe.
I can't use tampons or cups. I start cramping really hard after about 30mins. My body wants so hard to push them out as quickly as possible. My doctor said at least I know my muscles down there are strong and it is nothing wrong with me. I use "clean" pads that are expensive, but healthy.
you need to push it harder in then, i got that for the first time that it was uncomfortable. but the other time i pushed it harder and now its good! i don't feel it!!
I have a cup I reaaaaally wanted it to work but its a mess for me! As soon as I feel a gurgle I have half a second to run to the bathroom safely before it completely spills out! And that is changing it every half hour and no I never have a heavy flow ever I am low to medium.
Switched to a cup two years ago and it literally changed my periods. I have endometriosis and somehow this helped with some of the symptoms I would get!
I switched to a cup a few years ago and I will never go back! I switched because it's easier to me (a one and done product), saves money over time, and was better for my body.
I switched to cup two years ago out of curiosity, never will go back to disposable products. Cups are just the best in all respects: price (i don’t wanna know how much would i have spent on my period during these two years of using a cup), time (i don’t need to visit drugstore once per month and i’m never surprised to find out that I’m out of tampons or pads), comfort (put it in in the morning, take it out in the evening, during the day i forget that i’m on my period, plus I don’t feel kind of ‘dirty’ during the day which was the case when using tampons). To sum up: no cons, only pros, my choice is obvious.
I’ve switched to using a menstrual cup and period underwear instead of tampons and liners. I still have a few tampons in my desk at work that I had to buy in an emergency but I pretty much know my cycle now so rarely need them. Come in handy for my coworkers sometimes though
I started using menstrual cup 8 years ago. It worked amazingly for a while, but then I got off the pill and my adenomyosis (it's a kind of endometriosis) exploded and, for some reasons, it became so painful for me to use a cup that I had to stop. Now I use reusable pads and cotton tampons (they cause less pain), the latter only when I strictly have to. Here in Italy tampons don't have plastic applicator: it's made of paper (even for the most chemical ones), if it's there at all.
I am glad to read your comment. I have noticed that my endometriosis hurts more and I also get bloated when I use them. I thought was going crazy but this is the 4th month straight of me noticing so I decided not to use them. My bloating has gone down.
In Europe most women just don't use tampons with applicators. Most people don't even know that because it is not common to use these. I personally think these applicators are useless because you can use tampons without it.
Jessica Skene My first thought was that these applicators are some sort of strange American thing. As I talked with some female friends about it, some of them had the same opinion and some and some liked the idea of applicators
@@tagtraumerin5077 Well it wouldn’t be like that if people recycled more. If you think about it we could have an entire factory where old and used tampons and pads are turned into new ones.
I use pads, tiktok brought me here,Tampons just absorb blood and tampons just blocks out those things that should be out in our woman parts...My grandmothers teacher got cancer because she uses tampons thats what she told me
I switched to reusable pads and period underwear a few years ago and it changed my life. Period underwear is such a game changer. I usually pair it with a reusable pad at night or when I'm heavy. But 4 out of 5 days I just wear the period underwear. I use Thinx and they work so well and last years. They're so comfy and you can barely even tell you're on your period.
i started using a femmy cycle menstrual cup which i love but i might try another just because i have a kinda hard time taking it out & also cloth pads, and it is life changing tbh at first it is weird and creepy but it is so much more comfortable and cheaper and good for the earth! everybody wins! haha
For me, not having to worry about TSS and being able to wear it for longer periods of time is the biggest win for me! My menstrual cup is honestly so much more comfortable than tampons and pads, and love it. I also kind of like how it has allowed me to know my body better. I use a Ruby Cup, which is also a buy 1 give 1 model, so cups go to girls who may not have access to period products! Overall, it’s a HUGE win, and I recommend cups to all my friends
Hi there! I love your videos. Quick question… I see you’re wearing an Apple Watch, could you make a video about the apps that you like to use on it? Thanks!
Great video Victoria! I would love to ditch tampons and am researching solutions. I have a menstrual cup that I've tried to get used to for YEARS and have made a serious effort over many cycles (watched YT Vids on insertion techniques, etc) but haven't been able to insert it without massive leakage. Can't tell if it's the cup itself, my cervix or I don't know how to use it. Once in a blue moon, it works and I love it but I would love to figure out a more reliable solution. Should I try different brands? Not sure how different they are.
I think it’s the idea of cups in general that’s wrong. It’s an actual cup, if you’re not standing straight up then what’s stopping it from leaking? And you’ve basically gotta stick your whole arm in there if you wanna get anything in place...
I use to use tampoons but my boyfriend asked me not to use them anymore so I use pads except on gym days feel weird wearing pads. I just told my boyfriend the other day I was done witg tampoons. I hate spending so much time trying to get it up there it annoys me. I have yet to look into the cup but my thought is that it seems so nasty and then it's like do you empty it in the sink but like I said I haven't researched using them. Doing it now though. 😁
Marta Elisa Hura Toth my boyfriend is very aware of the female issues. He surprised me by telling me things I didn't know about using tampons unfortunately I don't remember why he prefers I don't use them.
Scorpianchic yes, this is why i didn't like the comment from PlainTicket, because men too can be health conscious, not just women. I am happy that there are men like this, they seem to be very caring
I ADORE YOU AND YOUR VIDEOS❤️❤️❤️ IF YOU WERE MY BIG SISTER OR MY MOTHER I WOULD BE THE HAPPIEST GIRL IN THE WHOLE WORLD😢❤️❤️❤️❤️ BTW I ACTUALLY LOVE MY PERIOD AND I AM 14 ALMOST 15 YO❤️❤️🙂
Use some KY or similar water-based lube jelly. It will be easier. Also take a hot bath so that the water softens the tissues so you can stretch them gently with the fingers. Best of luck.
I still think tampons are better. I mean getting the cup out is gonna be gross since it’ll get squished and pour out all the blood. I don’t even know how the hell I’d get anything up there without an applicator, and if I lay down or do a handstand wouldn’t the blood leave the cup and go back inside of me? I dunno but I feel like the whole concept of a period cup is just gross and stupid...
I just bought my first cup and started FAM because of your channel's amazing information so THANK YOU so much I feel so free and in tune with my body
You were one of the first people to introduce me to cups. THANK YOU. I've only used a cup for three months but I don't picture myself going back to cotton products. Cups are an incredibly good fit for me.
Thanks! the tampons just hurt me so bad! And the Pads are much easier for me! 😁

My cup gives me cramps on my heavy days, too :( I use reusable cotton pads, though. They work great!
@Emily Paulhus I'm thinking of using reusable pads too.

Why would the cup be more comfortable than tampons??

I have endometriosis too and I noticed that tampons bloat me up. I can explain why but it has gotten worse over the years.

What you actually said: "menstrual cup"
What the auto-generated subtitles thought you said: "metal cup"/"monster cup"
I made some reusable tampons with flannel I haven't gotten to try them yet but I'm making the change to help the involvement
I heard that reusable tampons aren’t good for you. It’s all about bacteria

Tagträumerin we don't use them in Australia either. I think they were just for beginners to get used to how to use them. Seems so wasteful.

Are menstrual cups for women with heavy flow?
depends on which one you get online they make heavy flow ones but if you use the regular ones ig you just change it more
