Awesome I am learning.
I love the contrast of the black background to the red rope. Very good instructional video. This is amazing reference for anyone taking their rope access courses. Thanks for this Mike.
Thank you very much.
That was the purpose. It’s good to see that it’s helping.
Mikey
Thank you this helped me with my fire science class ❤
Excellent video. I like the trick of using your index finger when making the fig 8 on a bight to keep the rope strands oriented flat and avoid twisting. Good stuff!
It's a game-changer.
Looking forward to seeing more videos. Really like the idea of pointing out the 'x' where the rope crosses over when teaching this.
Keep up the great work 🙂
Instructor 101 thank you. New videos released every Sunday.
Awesome demonstration I love it thanks
Great! I've been working highrise for 30 years and next week is my training for rope access. Subbed.

You’re welcome
Thanks alot!
You’re welcome ☺️
Good
i find very helpfull the "monkey" or "rabbit" story for tie the figure of eight and there is a so simple way of tieing the fishermans knot just overhand and one more time rope end thru the loop ;-)
There are a lot of methods people use to teach knots. I like to focus on keeping the knots flat so you have the visual reference throughout the process.
Love your videos please upload a video about hauling systems 1:1,3:1
There is a video on Level 2 hauling systems. Maybe that will help
so appreciate your channel & content... I'm going for my level 1 the end of next month,, (sept),,,went and bought a little rope just so I could learn and practice my knots,, as much as I appreciate this,, is there another video that'll explain which knot is used for which purpose by chance.......please and thank you
Thank you Tammy,
No sorry i dont have a video on that.
But that’s a great IDEA!
Ill make that up and post it next. SEPT 5th
Cheers
Mikey
@@theropeaccessandclimbingpo2380 freaking awesome!! ty! ;)
🙏🏼
Q: From Climber to RA - Double vs Tripple Scaffold knot? I see in all your videos you use double, is that's what common in Rope Access? Internet says that double wrap version is called Poacher's... And most sources use triple wrap version for actual "Scaffold knot" name...
Thanks for sharing all of this content!
Hey,
Thank you for your comment/questions
Most rope techs will only use a double. There is no need for a triple.
As for the “true” name. Just like anything. Im sure some knot person is super picky with the true calling of ones name. But in the rope access industry, this is the common term.
That could change from industry to industry Im sure.
@@theropeaccessandclimbingpo2380 Cheers! And good luck growing your Podcast!
Thank you
Thanks, Good content but I had max sound to hear it
Be awesome if you could explain the use and purpose of each knot.
I maybe making a video on this sooner than later
Nice video! Is it common to use a figure 9 as a stopperknot? Havent seen that yet
Hey, thank you for your comment.
It’s not common but it’s acceptable
I swear to god Mikey. You sound like bob Ross at times!
Haha is this a good thing…?
the stopper knots how far from the end of the rope should it be, please
Cheers
Hey,
About 30cm, 300mm or 1 foot
