Just curious, where is Shinola? If there is a now swiss Ball, why no Hamilton?
Great round up of some American brands!
Another great video some lovely watchs on your videos
Thank you. There's some very cool American brands for sure!
forgot to include hamiliton and timex
Good video. Well done, and I enjoyed it. but….. how did Monta not make the list? 😊. They are probably the most respected mass produced American brand by the watch enthusiast community.
Islander are great watches. The customer service at Long Island Watch is fantastic.
Yep, I have tried a couple of Islanders now and they're great. Mark is also a top guy so I always advise supporting him!
I'm surprised Timex and Bulova didn't make the list
Another great video! As usual I like them all!! The blue dial Nodus looks very nice and I particularly like the Vaer cushion shaped chronograph. I know your going to ask what country next....so how about France? Cheers mate 👍
Haha thanks mate. I think my favourite is Hesili on this one.
Yes, France is next. Then I'm thinking of maybe China after that. China gets a bad rep for watches. I think I'll set myself a mission of finding some cool Chinese Microbrands.
@@TopTierTicker Yes good idea mate. China does some good homage watches with great specs at amazing prices. Pagani Design and San Martin to name just a couple. I look forward to seeing what you come up with regarding micro brands 👍
I recently bought an Islander watch and I think it's great. I'm surprised you didn't include Detroit Watch Co in your listing of American watrches.
No love for Monta?
Traska. Astor and Banks, Lorier, Raven, Tsao, Towson Watch Co., Cincinnati Watch Co, etc
You left out Benrus
Great video, I think the vaer offers the best value and that Ball watches are capable of punching way about their weight class in terms of design , function, and style.
Indeed, great take! Thanks for watching and it's good to have you on the channel!
American Watch Brands and American Watches are TWO different things
Indeed, I try to mention when parts/movements are made elsewhere.
@@TopTierTicker sometimes they have only American names 🙂
Dang. Literally every watch I’ve been eying made the list..
Nodus... Sector Sport was reviewed by WatchCrunch and was just smitten when I checked out their site... is Dan Henry an American micro-brand?
Dan is out of Brazil
I cannot understand well what is spoken. But it seems that the prices are high. In Europe automatic watches with a Miyota or ETA movement costs about €300 or even less.
Timex? Astor & banks? Lorier? Royter? EMG? Vero? Nixon? Helm? Blok? Luminox? Hemel?
Yep, there's more than 10. These are the 10 I decided to feature 👍
Timex?
I always put Timex as an American icon.
My goal with these videos is to bring to light brands who don't get as much publicity as the big brands. If you already know a watch brand is American, what's the point in me featuring it.
@@TopTierTicker fair enough, but with all the outsourcing most don’t know that Timex was once American made. Same with Bulova and maybe more. Thanks
@@TopTierTicker Fair enough.
Monta.
Great brand!
I get it, we don't need to learn about Timex...But, where's Luminox? Where's RGM Watch Co.? Where's Hamilton? Where's Devon Works? Where's Aragon? These are American watch brands YOU should know.
Luminous and Hamilton are both Swiss made
Ball is Swiss… no current connection to the US. Full stop. No RGM? No Timex? No Ginault?
RGM super pricey, Timex one of the biggest BRANDS, Ginault was on the shortlist but didn't make the cut.
@@TopTierTicker fair enough. Thanks for the reply.
@@TopTierTicker How about Bulova? and, as a Ball fan, I wonder if you agree the brand is Swiss nowadays, although it has an undeniably rich history in the US? I assume the situation is the same for Hamilton.
No Rgm? Blasphemy I say!
Rgm 100% USA
Bit pricey though init
@@TopTierTickerYour username doesn't match then. Should change your name to mid-tier ticker.
@@MrMackievelli So you can't get a good watch under $1000? get outta here!
@@TopTierTicker You missed the point man. Completely missed it.
You left out Patek Philippe
USA watches made with Chinese parts
Sorry to burst ya bubble mate but almost every watch company in the world outsources parts. The US doesn't have the infrastructure to create purely American made watches, especially on the affordable end
And many 'swiss made' watches can have Chinese parts too.
The fact that you don’t have RGM on this list is a travesty. And, if you’re going to put Ball on there, why not Hamilton? Myrick Keaton is also a beast, building his own amazing watches. Also left off Weiss and Shinola. Bone up before you post videos, bud.
Okay Ross it seems that you're new to this series of videos so let me fill you in.
I mostly feature affordable and lesser known brands. RGM and M Keaton is extremely pricey, Hamilton is one of the biggest brands in the world.
Weiss and Shinola were close to featuring but did not.
If you thought that I just whipped this list together on a whim and don't know anything about watches then you're very mistaken. Although your comment is extremely condescending. I thought I'd educate you on the videos that we make here.
Bone up before you post comments, bud.
@@TopTierTicker Okay…
1.) Thank you for replying to my comment.
2.) You put out a video every 3-4 days. I’d say you’re “whipping them out” - trying to work that algorithm.
3.). If you’re going to be a RUclips content creator, you need to develop a thick skin… you’re going to get criticism, and you’re going to get condescending comments. Do you think Archie Luxury became Archie Luxury by getting mad at constructive criticism. Let it roll off your back.
4.). Your video is titled “10 American Watch Brands you should Know.” It mentions nothing about “10 affordable American Watch Brands you should know.”
5.) If you’re going to mention Ball, you should have created an entire category about brands like Hamilton, IWC, etc. Shoot, make a video about how America used to be the epicenter of watch making before it switched to Switzerland.
6.) RGM, dude. Just admit you fumbled on RGM. They are THE American watch brand right now.
7.) In all seriousness, I apologize for my condescending comment. I’m sure you work hard and try your best.
@@rossfryer3902Jesus man, he's NOT forcing you to watch his videos or asking what you think. If you think you can do better, then go right ahead.
I've been into watches for almost 40 years, but I still learned about a few new companies from this video. And I don't have to agree with everything he says, but I don't have to attack him because we disagree about something.
And this is only the 3rd video I've watched of his, so I'm not some butthurt fanboy. But I've been in the live audio recording world for almost 30 years and been online for even longer, and there's ALWAYS at least one person spreading negativity. So I guess you're that one guy for this video hahaha 😂
