I've been rocking Casios for years, and overall they last a lifetime, based on what I've seen, and where mine are headed too atleast. Got a couple with over 10 years, and orgnial battery. Just a god tier brand, espically their worldtimes, and F91 models, and similar.
I can recommend buying returned watches from Amazon Warehouse. You basically get a brand new watch that may have a damaged box heavily discounted. If the watch itself might be damaged too much you still have the option to send it back. I bought the Seiko 523p1 Solar, the silver version of the 527p1 you show in the video from Amazon Warehouse. The watch retails for just over 200 € and I got it for 106 €. The box was slightly damaged, but the watch was brand new.
A video idea (sorry if you did this previously and I missed it): a guide for shopping for straps and bracelets. What to look for, what to avoid, what says that a strap is good quality or not, good sites, etc. I find myself more lost when shopping for straps than for watches.
I would say straps / bracelets depend more on your personal lifestyle i.e.: what accessories you wear, clothes style/colours, when/where do you use your watch. What I found that works best is by having two straps with quick release allows you to quickly customise your watch depending on how you are feeling and where you are going that day.
Thanks for the great video Ben. Happy to see Orient featured more on the channel! As a happy owner of the Ray, Kamasu, SKX and 5KX, I definitely prefer the case design and finishing of the Orient diver collection that have stolen the 'best value crown' from Seiko in my eyes.
I purchased a Gold Casio Duro over a year ago from Amazon, and am impressed with its accuracy (-1 sec a month) The only downside is the band. It only took three days before I replaced it with a "Bond" type NATO strap. Looking at the watch, the indices look applied, but are actually pressed in from the back.
Ben, your commercial for whatever food thing was the best in video ad I've ever seen. I watched it all the way through! I was hoping for more specific recommendations to buy on Amazon with prices. Keep up the good work.
Well...My clips are in Ben's Watch Club. I've obviously now made it! Thank's Ben! Some excellent pics here, My favourite being the SNK8xx Series. Probably my go to introductory automatic watch
I place an order for the Orient bambino open heart but after a couple of weeks of no signs of being shipped I cancelled. I bought an ADIESDIVE watch instead and I'm very happy with it. Ceramic bezel, sapphire crystal, Seiko movement, and tons of lume, plus a beautiful dial.
I stopped buying from asian stores in amazon. Half the time. At minimum. A scam. Then amazon gives you a hard time for a refund when they find out they been hackt. Been in that rodeo with ama before..they refund you..after awhile..
Fyi, armitron is a queens new york based company that is the oem supplier/licensee for many nyc based fashion designers. I made their videos in the 90s and they were good people.
Glad you covered Citizen! I have a lot of JDM 's by them and they are excellent quality. The ecodrive works with electric light which other makes don't.
They have some very nice Glycine, and Tissot auto's for under $350 ,A swiss made automatic for under $400 from a heritage brand sounds like a good deal to me!
Armitron is a brand I’ve not considered in years, not because they’re bad in any way, but only because I don’t need many LCD watches. I first started buying them as a teen in the eighties, after I moved in from the battery devouring LED watches from Texas Industries. :D Best Armitron I had was a larger format LCD analog watch with all the usual digital functions (alarm, timer, stopwatch, etc) but having digital hands was so different and cool. I’d buy one of those again if I could find one. Great review of the good Amazon offerings. I’d also enjoy a review of ones to avoid.
Thanks Ben, another great upload! You had me when you got up and went to the fridge, (refrigerator) for our very close and much loved friends in the USA. Keep up the great work, Mark, UK.
My whatch collection is a 4 piece collection. Orient ray2, orient banbino with steel bracelet, casio 158 and casio gbd200. Amazing value for money in all and amazing starting point for a collection
Little suggestion: It would be interesting if you'd review some very affordable Swiss made watches like Hanowa or other "Swiss military" brands, quartz options from Tissot, Victorinox, Versace etc. There is plenty to choose from below 500, even 300.
can you please make a list of affordable watches for big wrists? There are many videos about small wrist watches but we big boys often get neglected. ty much love
My very first automatic what's a Bambino. My daily is now a Kamasu. But I just used Amazon to buy a Tissot gentleman powermatic 80 for under $400 and on a 5 month payment plan.
Dropping on April Fools Day was expecting a Spagetti Scametti section at the end… not sure if I am pleasantly surprised by no corny joke, or disappointed not to see Spagetti Scametti in its full glory.
Another interesting and informative video Ben! Thank you. I've been finding exposure to some of the more obscure brands on Amazon recently and would love to hear your take on brands to avoid.
I had never heard of Armitron but love the look of these watches. After falling down the Casio rabbit hole a few months back, I think I'm about to do the same this this brand. Thanks! I think?😂
@Ben's Watch Club, please do recommend the updated Bulova precisionist models(blue and grey) which retail between 185-225usd. Screw back case and better specs like 100m WR i believe.
I disagree about the Timex digitals. I find the display better, it glows when viewed from the slightest of angles improving legibility and that is before the Indiglo which I find superior to most of the Casio backlights...Electro Luminescence excepted. I have 2 Timex and over half a dozen Casio in my collection. I have an Armitron aswell with 2 more on the way.
Armitron has been making watches for a long time. I used to work in a factory and was afraid to wear a nice watch to work, so I'd always get an Armitron digital watch. They were usually made of black plastic and cost $1.99! That was back in 1984 or so. They were very hardy watches and when the battery finally died, I'd just toss the watch and get another because the watch was cheaper than the batteries cost! They've improved a lot over the years and sell a large number of watches. They are okay in quality, but not up to Casio level in my opinion.
Love the budget/value brands, Casio is the best choice for this. My grail watch is a Rolex Submariner and Omega Speedmaster so I’ll be collecting some good micro-brand, sister brand homage watches. Daily work watch is a Casio MRW-200H, and soon to be Invicta Pro Diver. 🤙🏼
It would be interesting if you shared your analytics in a video. I'm not sure why but I find it fascinating to see who is watching a channel I subscribe to.
I just bought a Seiko 5 sports with 4R movement as my first automatic watch. While i commute daily using motorcycle i realize that it receives a lot of vibration. Is it okay or it might damage my watch? Looking forward to your answer
I haven't worn a watch in years, but every time I watch one of your videos I get a hankering... I do have an ancient Seiko that I bought about 40yrs ago from Kmart for under $40. I have to dig it out and send it to the very popular, amateur, watch restoration YT'er. I have been asked before if it was a Rolex, as is clearly was had a similar appearance. Thanks for the review. If I saw one today on this video that I thought was lovely, it was the Lineage by Casio. Very appealing watch.
Always happy to see a new video, but I thought this was going to be more of a navigation through the no-name-o crap Amazon sells. I'd love to see a video of what to avoid, and reviews of some of the oddball junk, good and bad. Mostly bad... it's fun to watch you dump all over poorly made junk.
I like the look of the Lorus field watches and may pick one up. I also like the look of the Bulova Precisionist as well. I really don't get the internet and RUclips love for Orient though. The Bambino's look pretty cheap to me and with the Aus dollar pricing on some of them, you can pick up a Seiko Presage Cocktail time for only a little bit more in a retail store, at least in Aus. Some nice Citizens in that price range as well. I don't know...tonnes of internet hype on them.
Have bought qute a few Amazon watches. All good. Though the watches I have bought on Ali Express have been my favourites. Parnis is a very fine Watch. . Then Cadisen. This watch has the finest reserve power, lasting a week They also sell Mysterious Code,so many styles AddieDive. Another great watch. I shop more at Ali Express for the lower prices Than I do at Amazon
My first automatic watch was a Seiko SNK795, so I don't want to hate on Seiko *too* much, but their recent pricing moves make it very hard for me to take them seriously as a value brand anymore, unfortunately. For me, Casio has that spot now, and to a certain extent some of the homage brands (e.g., Pagani Designs) that put out watches with good specs for less money than the big boys.
I was somewhat concerned by the lack of Spaghetti Scammeti in this video. But then I remembered- they're always cutting out those pesky middlemen to make the best £1000 "minimalist" plastic quartz watches around.
I bought a 40/8447 model from Amazon for £27 although its now reduced to £23 (doh!). Super watch for the money but I've seen it listed for £99 + shipping on a couple of sites!!
I'm quite disappointed not to see Vostok here. The casio lineage reminded me of my titanium casio lineage. 5atm (50m) water resistance. I forgot the watch on my wrist when scuba diving. I went 22 m underwater. Nothing happened to the watch. I have had it for 17 years and it still works perfectly.
I would never recommend Armitron over Casio… Unless you’re like me, and have far too many Casio’s… They’re great little watches, and fun to pick up a couple or three or four
Would love to see the watches to avoid on Amazon
I guess, basically you should avoid anything not on this video list, right?
Honestly, I think that would be 98% of them. It would make for a looooong video ;-).
That would be a two week episode 🤣🤣
Bro, that’s basically all of the watches that are not on that list. Simple
From experience that would be... the majority of them
I've been rocking Casios for years, and overall they last a lifetime, based on what I've seen, and where mine are headed too atleast. Got a couple with over 10 years, and orgnial battery. Just a god tier brand, espically their worldtimes, and F91 models, and similar.

Love the nod too the Orient Bambino and Orient Ray II.
Great video Ben. 😎👍⌚
I only buy watches with Italian-sounding names from Amazon. It ensures my continued disappointment with the platform.
I think Armitron deserves more attention. Cheap watches can be fun. I mostly do Casio but Armitron has been catching my eye.
This watch is awesome
Ben, your commercial for whatever food thing was the best in video ad I've ever seen. I watched it all the way through!

😂 nice one Ben for integrating your sponsorship in a unique and entertaining way! 🙌 can't hold it against you for bringing in the money 👍
Best watch channel on youtube, covering actually affordable watches for people
I've gotten used to your watch videos being top notch but your Hello Fresh ad is.... superb! Very well done, man!
Glad you enjoy it!
I love my Armitron watch! I am glad you mentioned them.

What is Jdm?
They have some very nice Glycine, and Tissot auto's for under $350 ,A swiss made automatic for under $400 from a heritage brand sounds like a good deal to me!
Glycine are excellent value automatic watches and can be found at great discounts. I always recommend over any other brand in that price bracket.
Another great video on affordable watches. Keep them coming, Ben.
Thanks, will do!
Armitron made the cut... Finally! Love all the brands listed. Great video.
I have a few Armitrons and I like them a lot. A video on brands to avoid would be great!
Armitron is a brand I’ve not considered in years, not because they’re bad in any way, but only because I don’t need many LCD watches. Nice , I have all them brands apart from San Martin, my homage brand of choice is Steeldive. Absolutely love my Citizen Watches 🙌
Really enjoyed that sponsored section, was really funny and probably your best so far, overall amazing video as always
Aragon watches are excellent quality with Japanese and Swiss movements. Very fair pricing as well. I have not been disappointed by them.
Appreciate the time you put into these vids bro
Thanks Ben, another great upload!
You had me when you got up and went to the fridge, (refrigerator) for our very close and much loved friends in the USA.
Keep up the great work, Mark, UK.
That add thrown in there was hilarious, great transition 🤣
My whatch collection is a 4 piece collection. Orient ray2, orient banbino with steel bracelet, casio 158 and casio gbd200. Amazing value for money in all and amazing starting point for a collection
Loved the clever ad insert 😂
I love my Invicta Pro Diver in gold/black :D I've gotten complimented on it many times and it only cost me $59.95 on sale!
I think its about time casio make their own in house automatic movement instead of module. Its a game changer
Little suggestion: It would be interesting if you'd review some very affordable Swiss made watches like Hanowa or other "Swiss military" brands, quartz options from Tissot, Victorinox, Versace etc. There is plenty to choose from below 500, even 300.
One note about the low end Timex if you get a 3 hander they tick very loud but their small seconds or chronographs don't
can you please make a list of affordable watches for big wrists? There are many videos about small wrist watches but we big boys often get neglected. ty much love

They also sell Seagull and the original Sea-Gull depending on your budget.
Armitron is much overlooked. I have been wearing one since 1994, on and off. It's an American brand and I believe still family owned.
I recently picked up a pair of Armitrons. $50 on sale for both. The build quality is exceptional, considering the price.
Bought my gshock 5600UE at very nice price never regretted it
I had never heard of Armitron but love the look of these watches. After falling down the Casio rabbit hole a few months back, I think I'm about to do the same this this brand. Thanks! I think?😂

That thumbnail is absolutely terrifying. Especially after watching Smile
Don't you just love it when you take the time to film a creative ad and then RUclips destroys the momentum by inserting their own ads in the middle?
"this was by far the tightest insert I've ever seen" - that's what she said.
I purchased both my SARB035 and SARB017 from Amazon.

I got a dog food commercial while you went to the fridge…
Ayo, that ad was crazy! 😂 You good, bro?
A 2nd part of this video dedicated to women is a must
Great picks, and yeah definitely interested in your list of amazon watches to avoid!
I prefer my Cronos to my San Martin, but both are excellent (and I have owned 4 Rolex previously).
I just bought a Seiko 5 sports with 4R movement as my first automatic watch. While i commute daily using motorcycle i realize that it receives a lot of vibration. Is it okay or it might damage my watch? Looking forward to your answer
The cut to the sponsor was awesome!!!
I like San Martin with the bkue dial you showed, I want it 😊. I can't find it online tho, whats the model called?
Great video and suggestions!!!
The effort you put into your sponsor honestly makes them worth watching
What about Olev?
06:03 The one all the way to the right. Isn't that a Unimatic-clone, or are they also taking inspiration of someone?
Best thumbnail photo ever.

great editing
No recommendation for Rotary then Ben?
I was somewhat concerned by the lack of Spaghetti Scammeti in this video. But then I remembered- they're always cutting out those pesky middlemen to make the best £1000 "minimalist" plastic quartz watches around.
Nothing SCREAMS 1980's like the LCD displays on Casio watches.
Great video, Ben! I would like to see the watches to avoind on Amazon.
Nice mention of armitron but boy are they expensive in the UK. Be interesting to see your recommendations of sites to buy them from
I bought a 40/8447 model from Amazon for £27 although its now reduced to £23 (doh!). Super watch for the money but I've seen it listed for £99 + shipping on a couple of sites!!
San Martin have since changed their packaging to a faux leather case 😊
Great video !!!
That thumbnail will keep me up tonight
Now i need a top 20 cat food list
Victorinox is a good Amazon option I must say
That big rectangle with old-school digits really does stink up the joint on that otherwise attractive Casio you so highly recommend
Went to Mexico on holiday and spotted an Invicta store, bargains I hoped, no - super high prices. Much cheaper in the U.K. on mail order😢
Hi, Ben. What do you think about Bering watches?
I'm quite disappointed not to see Vostok here.
The casio lineage reminded me of my titanium casio lineage. 5atm (50m) water resistance. I forgot the watch on my wrist when scuba diving. I went 22 m underwater. Nothing happened to the watch. I have had it for 17 years and it still works perfectly.
Vostok is not on the list because…..Ukraine. A lot of collectors have written them off because of it.
Your thumbnail reminds me of that movie "Smile", super creepy bro haha
that's my face when I satisfy my watch addiction and unbox another watch haha
