Just bought a '21 Road Glide Special this past weekend. already have 600 miles on it. Traded a 2015 Ultra Limited and absolutely agree that the Road Glide is a much better riding machine. Love the RGS!
When I was 19 I used to ride my dad's Goldwing GL1100, very top heavy for a newer rider and the stationary fairing was a challenge for me. I fell in to that mind set too that I wasn't suppose to like it because it was an old man's bike, but I did.
Nice. I bought a 2021 road king special about 3 months ago. I’m 5’8” and 140ish pounds. lol. I had never ridden a Harley “touring” bike before I bought the road king. Today I went and test rode a road glide and I absolutely loved it. I’m going again tomorrow morning to let the wife test ride on the back and see if I can convince her to let me make the switch. The road glide is the bike we should’ve bought to begin with, we both really love listening to music and a lot of my bike commute is on interstate roads.
I like the look of the Shark Nose but prefer the StreetGlide Batwing. I did have to change the windshield to cut out the buffeting. I’m running the same Rinehart’s on my 114 StreetGlide. Love the sound.
See I’m not as big a fan of the batwing personally! The buffeting was very noticeable with the smaller windshield on the street glide. I did love those Rineharts though 🤤🤤
Great post. Funny, wanted a Fatboy, but settled for a Slim, then the 2021 Fatboy arrives in Dealership. My sales guy, tells - the the Road Glide Special and it was great, but as you stated "old mans" bike, but now I bought bags for my Fatboy. There are some nice options for the RGlide compared my Fatboy. I do regret not giving the RGlide a chance. No regrets with my Fatboy, the turns and twists a lot more effort due to the wide tires. I did put a shield and addition to the X brand bags, I suppose I am not driving a wanna be bagger. My first lady would kill me if I even consider trading Fatty for RGlide.

Very informative video...👍..been considering a Road Glide for a while...very interested in comments regarding greatly reducing wind buffering. That is the main reasons I'm considering the bike. Thanks from Australia 😃
I appreciate you checking it out! the wind buffeting was definitely noticeable on the Street Glide and virtually non existent on the road glide for me. it felt more stable to me as well :)
I have a street glide and i get seem to eliminate buffeting, thousands of $$$ in seats, shields and dumb gadgets and im ready to trade for a road glide
I felt the same way. Saw them with 23 fast front tire and lowered front fairing and really started looking them. I went to the dealership and sat on one and it feels comfortable. The local dealership wants 32k, just can't see spending that much.
I was shocked lol! But really it comes down to what you want. test ride them both! The challenger won the King of Baggers and has more power but i'm not a huge fan of the fairing
I test road the the RGS with a stage 2 and a Challenger yesterday. Callenger wins in power, suspension and overall handling. Not even close. RGS wins in paint, fit and finish and better wind protection. All depends on what you want.

I don't consider it an old man bike til you slap the tour pack on the bike...other than that it's a sexy bagger. I'm getting the 2021 Roadglide special in the snake venom!!
I was thinking to get the road glide and my mind don't wanna change but there is one thing in my mind i am a short rider 5'7" tall. what do you think ?please help me to decide if i'm gonna take it or change other model .
How about the suspension travel in front and rear, that would be useful information. Harley doesn’t post it because it’s a paltry 2.1 inches in the rear. Bottomout city.
GW better in air deflecting more smoother more quitter than RG. GW faster seat more comfortable less heat than RG for long distance GW better. RG better than GW in low speed. RG sound better than GW RG style looks better
Gotta learn how to test drive a bike and not be disrespectful to the bike. Got to keep it under 3500 rpm during the break in period. Other then that nice review.

Yea it’s DEFINITELY too heavy when you’re not used to it. I love them now lol

Haha I was so against them for the longest time until I actually test rode them. It’s a different experience for sure. The comfort is pretty great

Best advice is to go sit on one and see how it feels. You can also lower the suspension. Expensive job but could be worth it

0n my breakout I had 16s and they were just at or slightly above my shoulders. It was just uncomfortable enough to where I wish I had 14s
