Not at all. The prior years cost more as the RDRS and features like that used to be on top of MSRP and is now included into the price. If you go for the lowest color Trim you can get one for right under 26k. These 24s are a huge improvement and mine runs like a dream!
You have to thank Victory/Indian for all the improvements and innovations that Harley was "forced" to implement.

Indian has been doing this for a few years now on the TFT display (auto day/night mode, ride modes, etc etc)
Harley should stick with analog gauges. The electronic stuff will look tacky and dated in a few years time just like electronic displays from 10 years ago.
Same as my Ducati, but in and out of tree's and lowish light it can get distracting as it continually go's from white screen to black as it can't make it's mind up.
Indian also makes 20 more hp and the same torque

Pretty compelling bike, but Im still partial to my 2017 CVO Street Glide in red and black. Purchased it at Rocky Mountain before the motor company forced them out of business. It's got a stage 4, upgraded shocks, basanni exhaust, and zipper cam. And yeah, it's got a hydraulic clutch, and its twin cooled. HP is 132, and torque is 147 foot lbs. I had all the changes executed by a legendary techie here in Colorado over the last seven years. The bike is still cherry. It looks brand new. It rides great and sounds great.
There is ZERO wind protection out of that fairing. It will rip your head off. Everybody is reviewing it with a full face helmet, which I don’t know anybody that wears one on a bagger. Replacing the front windscreen is a must first day.

Full face or not you get wind buffeting. My head shakes all over the place with those shitty stock windscreens. I replaced mine on my 14 and 19 street glide with clockworks windscreens. No more wind buffeting
Road glide knocked the street glide off the pedestal when the “king of baggers” became mainstream a few years ago. Everyone thinks they are a bagger racer with their hiked up bags. Unfortunately most guys buy them and put the same basic stuff on it like all thrashin supply everything then claim they made it different. It’s becoming a pretty basic bike.

Harleys have ALWAYS been more expensive. Even going back to the 80's. My dad went to buy a new Lowrider in 83. He ended up buying a new Magna (based on price). He settled, instead of getting what he wanted. He didn't buy his first new Harley, until 1987. It was an FXRS, close to $9000.00 if memory serves. Do the math on that in today's money. Still expensive.
Formerly worked a dealership. The 2024 baggers and rev max are the biggest POS overpriced turds i have ever seen in my life. Poor quality from the factory tons of catastrophic failures , no start issues, endless updates, poor fit and finish. Crazy bends in the wiring harness from factory. Hand controls that are not waterproof. Plastic everything. The list goes on. Save your old stuff while you can , this aint it
But what else could I possibly buy with a tight budget of just $30k +$10k for "performance" upgrades?

i traded my 21 ultra snake venom that was stage 2 for a 24 road glide and so much smoother and to be honest feels just as fast my old ultra because less weight and even have a tour pack on it as well for the wife when she rides. zero issues out of the bike so far and the screen is awesome as well

@@freebehindbars8654 let's start with the windshield let's start with the infotainment Center and the cheap speakers how about the clutch that has a constant clicking when you pull the handle how about the plastic cheesy tag light in the back and the mufflers when you pay a premium price you don't want to have to upgrade everything on your motorcycle I didn't have to on my Cadillac oh and the check engine light has been on twice and I don't have 2000 Mi on it and I forgot the front end that they put on it in less than 400 miles

Buddy of mine had one and get a whole new wiring harness and under 3000 miles because they couldn’t figure out the check engine light with the new cam sensor that they have. just a freaking joke at that price and that’s why I have an always will ride metric bikes. @@RalphMalone-mw1qosince when did machines not have issues.. even a lexus can have issues with a new model. Yes Harleys business model is underwhelming engines to get you to purchase upgrades. But its an obvious business model. Theres nothing wrong with base models but money talks with motorcycle companies. The real difference between Harley and just about every other bike on the market is literally for the amount of compliments you get. They make the best looking bikes and they always have whether you think that or not it’s 100% true. that’s what you’re buying an image. Only people that appreciate technical things which is honestly a very small group would find a Honda VTX 1800 sexier than literally 80% of the models that Harleys put out since the 90s. Even though that is my favorite type of bike, I only got like three compliments, two years which I didn’t really care about. But the moment I bought a Harley St., Bob I literally had kids walking up to me like I was in a 1950s TV show saying hey Mr. neat bike. Literally everybody that came around would complement my bike. That’s all Harley is really sound and looks. It’s an image, and to be honest, that’s most of America.

FYI - Apple Carplay has been available on H-D Touring models since August of 2018 with the introduction of the BoomBox GTS. It does not work without the H-D branded headsets unless you install an aftermarket jumper that "tricks" the system into thinking you have your headset connected. Then you can play it through the onboard speakers.
And with an easy DIY software upgrade, so is Android Auto

Love my 2023 road glide special. No reason to “upgrade” and be a beta tester for a first year model.. plus not a fan of the massive cost cutting tablet on my dash. I prefer the older style gage clocks and the BOOM GTS system has been awesome.

I ride a 05 road king I hate all the electronics because every bike and car manufacturer the electronics for all the fancy stuff will last max 5 years then the repair bills sky rocket if you want to keep the bike as all the electronics goes bad.

Unfortunately, he got the wrong impression of you, thinking you were talking badly about him, when in reality (from what I know of you), you’d never make negative comments, at least not to the extent Paul Senior thinks you did. He’s older and, although he had a famous TV show, maybe he’s not that familiar with RUclips’s style, which is why he may have misjudged you - that’s just my impression.
I believe if you reached out to him, you could clear things up, and I think you guys could even become great friends. Who knows, maybe you could even do a video together at OCC - I think that would be awesome!

I'll stick with my 2009 Ultra Classic. Got 22k on it. Never leaked a drop. Doesn't burn oil. Never cost me a dime, other than standard maintenance. These are a sweet spot in Harley's production. If you ever find one in good shape, buy it. I'll never sell mine. I've ridden the new bikes and they are not the same basic quality. In addition they don't ride or handle any better than my 2009. Gadgets and gizmos don't make a bike any better. Just more complicated, and expensive to work on. Just my humble opinion.😁

I just did a 2k trip without one on my softail without any wind protection. It did great. Every bike I've tried with a fairing or windshield I wasn't a fan of. They all mess up the wind in a weird way. And they're just ugly.
Don't feel constrained. You can always have HRT and breast augmentation surgery if you don't want to be a man anymore.
I traded my 21 Road Glide Special for a 24 Road Glide. I do like the bike but the seating (even with a Saddlemen Road Sofa) sits lower than the 21. Just like this guy in the video, my knees are higher than my hips which is uncomfortable for any long miles. Talked to a Harley engineer at Laconia. He flat out told me the bikes are designed for 5'8" tall riders. That's crazy.

I got one, my first Harley, and I love it. It's the first Harley I rode that impressed me - as is "wow" in it's stock form. The extra inch of clearance is noticeable. The electronics are great, easy to use, the drive train feels like a lot more power than previous versions. Ride modes are nice, shocks are shit, seat is "not bad." Now, just waiting for aftermarket parts...

It feels light???? It's 838 pounds.. almost twice as heavy as my Tiger 900 gt... Just crazy man.
Just because it weighs that much doesnt mean it FEELS like that much. I know what youre saying, but once you rip all the factory junk off of a Harley (suspension, tires, etc.), they definitely lose a bunch of the sluggish feel. I still flip flop from sport bikes to my Harley pretty often, and the low center of gravity definitely aids in its streetability, especially with a few more inches added to the suspension.
Definitely pros and cons to both. I like to tinker so the Harley pull and replace parts game is okay, but I do sometimes miss a metric for the "jump on and ride" aesthetic, at most its usually seat and luggage haha.
117 ci is twice the size of a 900 too, so it kind of makes sense.

Instead of currently being owned by a corporate conglomerate and run by an Al Bundy, I wish that the Motor Company was again run by AMF. AMF would just stick to building basic American motorcycles using Union labor for working people who know the value of each buck and want to own and ride a piece of America. That particular business segment of an AMF doesn't have to generate huge profits, just hold its own. Leave the overpriced and over-teched modern motorcycles to Honda and BMW. Each brand has their solid loyalty, but HD Inc. today is a caricature of what it once was. HD's best days were when they had two engines and produced 125k units per year.
