    Sulfentrazone has almost no effect on purple sedge. I mix it with sedgehammer.

    Super knowledgeable information!! Glad I finally heard someone explaining all of this!! Question!! Will Andersen’s pre emergent help prevent all of those types of weeds as well?? You should be an Agriculture/Horticulture teacher!! You’d be great man!! All we did in my High School Agriculture class was have cookout and sell beef sticks!! We should’ve had you!! 🤣

    Love your videos Jason! At $14.30 per ounce No thanks on that product. Great honest review. Also, Wild Violet is a pain! I been pulling them out with a trowel and by hand and its gotten better, nothing coming back where they been pulled.. Gotta make sure you pull the rhizomes too. Dig down a couple inches

    • @lawncarelife
      @lawncarelife  Год назад +3

      Wild Violet is a tough weed. As far as the price goes, at the high rate of application, it's probably a little over $3 per thousand square feet which is not too bad compared to other similar products but I agree that prices are high on many of the herbicides

    I'm using MSM Turf right now for general spot sprays. 2-4-D for cuban jute woody stem weed and 'Image kills Nutsedge' is way cheaper than sedge hammer and it works. But I'm a lawn newb compared to this guy lol.

    • @robertreeves5979
      @robertreeves5979 Год назад

      For a homeowner spot treating a small property, image is cheaper. If you are a pro with many homes or plan on broadcast spraying, image for nutsedge will cost you much more per acre to spray.

    • @lawncarelife
      @lawncarelife  Год назад

      We try to teach people not to be as much concerned with the price of the bottle but the price of the application. A lot of stuff you buy at The Big Box store is going to be more expensive per application than this with not as good of results but I understand it is a lot of money to spend upfront

    • @lawncarelife
      @lawncarelife  Год назад +1

      If you're not worrying about killing the grass too then you could try a product like crossbow.

    • @silverdollar7594
      @silverdollar7594 Год назад

      @lawncarelife I'll try that out. Thanks. It runs up on back of an old wood fence and at the bottom its a ditch, so no grass in that area. I have a chain link fence there and neighbor behind me has about 8ft tall wood fence that's nearly rotted down. Vines and ivy is all over it and the hedges are right in the ditch/fence area. Just enough when I'm cutting the ditch line, ole hedges slap me and aggravate me when mowing.

    What will kill wild violet? It's in my Saint augustine grass? I have Change up, Celsius and Certainty and Msm turf

    • @lawncarelife
      @lawncarelife  Год назад +1

      Unfortunately I don't think any of those are going to kill it. I typically use quinclorac such as drive xlr8 but that is likely to damage your St Augustine. You could try change up and MSM Turf mixed together. Like 16 oz per acre of change up and .33 Oz per acre of MSM. That will kill a lot of weeds but I'm still not sure it's going to get wild violet

      Good suppression of Bermuda in St Augustine can be achieved by applying Atrazine. However, it can damage St Augustine if applied during high temperatures, 90 degrees or greater, therefore it's recommended to apply Atrazine during cool mornings or cloudy days, ensure the St Augustine is well hydrated 24 - 48 hours before application.

      try MSM with Roundup both at the high rates and use a surfactant. As a horticulture for 40+yrs I simply use Dawn Ultra at about 12-16 oz per 100 gal
