This video helped me alot. Gonna use it on my burgundy Acura thats starting to oxidize in Arizona heat. I watched alot of videos and yours taught me the most. Thank you!
Thanks bro .. you helped me to save 15 dollar. I was going to buy both compound and polish. Now , all I have to do is buy ultimate polish and cover polish word with my finger to use it as ultimate compound..
You might as well paint n hit with a clear coat if you gonna do all that. Otherwise you’ll constantly have to protect with wax. I live by the ocean so the oxidation happens hella faster.
Yeah that polish has slight abrasives so it can deal with oxidation but if you do the polish without the compound you are left with a rather weird haze cuz your not removing all the defects. Where as if you use the compound you get a slight haze with more abrasives which can be fixed by the polish.
In Australia to buy a bottle of McGuires ultimate polish and a bottle of McGuires compound will cost around $70-90. If you guys in the US can get it for $17 you guys are lucky. I dont understand why its so expensive here.
I appreciate that you do these hand polish and compound videos because not many other detailers do this. Snowman, what is the best compound and what is the best polish for hand work? What's the best of the best?
I just brought back to life a black suburban i used both the compound with a foam compound pad it was smooth and glass like finsh but when i hit it with the polish with a polishing pad omg the dept was incredible and finally to finish it i used black wax by turtle wax with a finishing pad for protection and more depth 8 hrs later and the customer couldn't believe the results, he didnt have to repaint it, the dual action polisher and pads all from harbor freight.
Might be the best over the counter compound. I use Meguiars m105 for cutting but I have used the Ultimate Compound with good results. The m105 just has much more cut so I use it for faster corrections. Tfs brother
Thanks for the demonstration. I just bought this recently, tried it, and thought I did it wrong cause I could still see some of the underlying oxidation. Now, after seeing your video...I know it was done right and can see the difference.
Damn if that’s really ultimate polish which I’m assuming it is because it’s the same bottle, that’s pretty impressive! It definitely has some cleaning power for not even being a compound.
My Brother .. This is a polishing product only, this product does not solve your problem, just nonsense !!! the problem in your car is the damage of the transparent paint layer (called lacquer) that comes on top of the original color paint . What you used is polishing for the layer of paint only, and this is of no use at all and the reason is that it will be gone and will disappear after two weeks to a month maximum, as if you did nothing !!! the solution for you is to remove the damage transparent paint layer, then spray the car with a new transparent paint at a professional specialist . After that, you can polish the car with ease, and the polishing will remain and will not go away .
That is Maguires ultimate polish not compound the ultimate compound is with a red car on the front I should know I use it also need to clean the car first
@@alexw2112 it's looks bad but he still has clear coat but very thin layer. One thing for sure it is oxidize and dirty. Using just compound with proper cleaning then all your are doing rubbing the dirt all over. The compound going embedded the dirty more into the paint.

He only used the polish. He never used the compound. That's why he covered the word with his finger. The compound bottle has a red hood. I got all 3 bottles in front of me. That's why he confused himself on what he's actually using.
What's the advantage of saying you're using the compound even though you're really using the polish? Why do that and lead people in the wrong direction? Wouldn't it discredit your videos? I'm trying to figure out some logic for you doing this and I can't.
You mean you recommend getting the right product and not the poilsh? Anyone who has ever done anything like this knows that he's accomplishing nothing in this video lmao. This is a horrible example 😂
This is the 10th different video that I've watched with ultimate compound. Why does it seem to work on these videos but it does absolutely nothing to a few oxidation spots on my 1997 Lincoln Town car? THIS STUFF IS ABSOLUTE CRAP I WANT MY MONEY BACK
bro i made my oxidated car shine only just with polish by hand, it took me 3 hours to polish by hand. you just have to keep going. 10 minutes is not enough
Yikes. Why do you think it made it look worse? Were you able to get it fixed? I have a dark gray car that I was going to try this on. Now I'm reluctant.

If you wet sand the paint then compound and polish it then it will look like new. Never rely only on one product to remove heavy oxidized paint.

The clear coat is very thin so sanding would only do so much might as well paint it at that point .
