Ultimate Compound is THE...BEST product I've ever used to restore old and faded paint. It's extremely forgiving, and removes most defects at the same time as giving a lustrous shine. A huge time saver! Nice work boys!
So for polishing very light scratches I mean very light and light swirling you would recommend? I'm trying to find something to dress my paint with that isn't too harsh but enough to clean up light scratches and swirls
@@jb0915- Start with Utimate Polish. I used to start with Ultimate Polish on a blue Hex Logic pad. This was my final polishing step before applying wax, sealant, or a coating. What a great informative video, when happy with the results to maintain would you polish and wax or could you just wax? Randomly this is for my narrowboat.
I'm looking into doing this project! I am a fan of the silicone wax/products because they seem to do well in the desert heat where i'm at. Can I use those silicone products the same way after using the ultimate compound? Thanks and cheers from New Mexico in the States!
How do i stop getting dried residue on the panel when doing it by hand? Ive tried using more product, less product, on a small area and a large area and i get spots/streaks of dried residue. Going over it with more compound then leaves more residue in a different area. The panel was cool and not in direct sunlight. My bottle is getting quite old now, could this be the reason? Your video makes it look so easy but its so difficult to wipe off. Love Meguiars, but im thinking about swapping to something different now when i need to replace it.
Is it also for the plastic headlights on my car???? Because i saw a vid that they used the same compound, and it really worked....but, it could be an edited vid.
Is it possible to just use the compound and then finish it off with the liquid wax? I have a new motorcycle that has a few swirls and "scratches" in the tank. Thanx for the informative video!

Hi, good video. just curious if it isn't necessary to IPA wipe before the ULW of it is going over the Ultimate Polish. Being the same line of product it makes sense IPA wipe down can be skipped, but I've also read reps say on the forums that it has to be to promote better bonding by washing away the polish oils. Is the IPA wipe down process pro durability whilst the other is to drive the show shine finish at the compromise of durability? Best video on the series so far. Ta

I have already applied Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax on my car. Can I directly go wash and apply compound? or I need to take out the Hybrid Ceramic Wax?
Thanks for the sharing, I have a question. Do we need to wash the car after the clay ? Or just take the dust/dry with microfiber and then apply the compound? How long do we need the compound and polish to cure ?
You’re good to go after claying. Compound and polish need no curing time , wipe right after applying. Wax needs 5-10 minutes of cure time , then wipe off
Do you have any Meguiars Gold Class Carnauba Liquid Wax available for review? There is a 2-for-1 offer at the moment at my local motorcycle dealership. Is it any good? Can you use it after using Ultimate Polish?
When do you decide to go with a foam pad for cutting vs the microfiber? I have a VW with very hard paint. So would using the Microfiber polishing disc instead be more affective? Or?
Each clear coat is different. Some will produce lots of hazing, needed to be corrected by foam pads. Other clear is harder and will not produce hazing when cutting with microfiber. In either case, microfiber removes deeper swirls quicker but with more heat.

UP seems to be containing some mild fillers. Not an issue because UP is not designed for paint correction. UC is designed for paint correction and does not contain fillers. With UC, What You See Is What You Get.
@Thierry Jau Thanks , The reason im asking is after using UC would you still use UP if intending to ceramic the vehicle as surely the coating would fail in those areas that UP ( & its fillers ) was used ?
Why is it the guys always put product on pads differently? This one uses the 4-dots, another does an X and another a 5-pointed star. Here is a tip, use automotive masking tape on door handles and trim, and you have clean parts to apply dressings. using plastic bads on mirrors also keeps them clean for dressing.
You would never use a wax on a paint. Always always always ceramic coat it with g technique or Adam 's. Graphene ceramic spray coating. That wax that he just smeared onto the paint wiped off will last about three trips to the store 😂😂

Ultimate Compound can be used by hand but... Polishing (with a compound for paint correction) a whole car by hand is a nightmare and the result is less consistent.
Yeah, in my work (4x4 specialist), I have to put up with fingernail scratches around door handles, scuffed door jambs and boot sills from jumping dogs, and hedge scratches on mirror cases, all impossible to use the machine on. Those areas can only be compounded by hand.
@@owensteele1645 Each use case deserves its own solution 😉 In your case, I assume you do not need to achieve show car results. So, hand polishing should be good enough.
