    Spanian, you need to visit the city of Charleroi, seen by many as Europe's ugliest city (Disputedly), and by far the most hood city in Belgium (Disputedly). It'll be cool if you could walk in the industral areas and surrounding housing.

      @ssusggus 11 месяцев назад +3

      @@kingcarrot6355 same shit right? If you’re not Australian I will educate you. Here in Australia it’s called soccer since Australian football is historically a distinctive significant form of football and had a strong heritage in the country during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when soccer was less popular here than it was elsewhere.
      So in short - historically football is AFL and soccer is used to seperate the two. Since “football” refers to a few different sports soccer makes it easier for people to understand which exact sport I am talking about. Still considerably the king of sports in Australia, AFL dominates over soccer so it bears the right to be crowned “football” or “footy” here.

    What I saw in this video is basically how typical European (big city) suburb looks like, as soon as you move away from the city centre, only more run down and dirty. Spain, France, Germany, Italy... all the same, concrete blocks from the 80's. Eastern Europe, even more concrete blocks. The only reason you're so shocked by it is because you haven't seen/experienced it before. I had the same "shock" when I visited Australia (coming from Europe) and saw all the "flat" Australian suburbs full of houses with front/back yard, maximum height being double storey houses.
    While I do like to watch your "in da hood" videos, there's one very big and very important component missing in all of them. Interaction with people, showing and experiencing the hood culture. Showing run down architecture and mostly empty streets covered with garbage doesn't necessarily mean it's a "hood" or "dangerous".

    Out of all you walked the actual bad part was only a street or two, mainly the building you entered and where you bought the Nestea. Those buildings there are full of drug flats, the funny thing is there's a police station just across the square from those flats.
    It's also good you started the video in the Diagonal Mar area, where you said it looks like Miami. That's a "new" area with buildings built some 15-20 years ago, some of them with concierge, gym, swimming pools... selling prices around the 1M€ and rentals over 3K a month for the cheap ones. But 500m away on the other side of the shopping center is where things start to get a bit rough.

It's mad how different it is just one street across in direct comparison - Barcelona is very much like that... it's wild. I guess most cities. It was still rough though and I was always anxious for the walk to Besos Mar metro, late but it still had a family vibe.. nothing ever happened, and I'm a woman. pero I was always alert. But uuuuufff, the tram opposite Lidle which is right outside these flats....even in the daytime I would avoid. Someone literally spat out their window and nearly hit me first walk to that tram. But that strip with the river you are walking down initially is pretty and has beautiful apartments... there's a pretty good mall if you keep going, with a surfer beach full of doggos!

    I commute with a bus that goes around La Mina, and as you have noticed they definitely chuck the trash out the window. As the road I travel on is a little higher, I can see the roofs of the shorter buildings from the bus, and they're PACKED with rubbish. So that means trash can only get up there if they do throw it out of the window, from the adjacent taller buildings. Nice neighbors to have right?

      lol that's not practical nor smart, dude. You don't turn up in a hood in some foreign country (where your don't even speak the language and approach people casually🤦‍♂ In the US, the locals don't even do that in their own hood unless it's people they know. That's one of the quickest ways to get your ass robbed, shot up or stabbed.

    Seeing this is so funny to me. There's empty/run-down places like this everwhere, obviously, but its funny to see places that seem familiar being described as the "hood." If you want to actually witness horrible, horrible living conditions go to Las Asperones in Málaga. This is the first one I can think of as it is close to where I work, but there's patches like that everywhere in the south of Spain. Although I wouldn't call Los Asperones a hood, just a clear example of neglect taken to the max.

    Man,you have been to several places in Portugal and you said yourself how much you loved Lisbon. I would love watching the Into the hood series in Portugal though. In Lisbon I recommend you to google for Cova da Moura, Chelas and Bairro Portugal Novo. Outside Lisbon, definitely google for Bairro da Jamaica in Seixal and Bairro da Bela Vista in Setúbal. Both are in cities close to Lisbon and you will be mesmerised for how and it looks for European standards. Big hug from Portugal!
