New Spanian channel “Into The Woods” sussin’ out the woods all over the world. Let’s ogg.
what is this tree lad?? whys it got no leaves?? this whole place is so putrid!! i've never seen anything like that!!
😂😂😂
If a man complains in a Forrest and there is no woman around to hear it is he still wrong
😂
🤣🤣🤣
The fun part for me as a Bulgarian is that you was having a walk in one of our parks “West Park” of Sofia if we have to be specific. We as Bulgarians like to keep our parks as natural as possible , often the park fading away into woods or rivers. Seeing you as a 2 meter tatted up guy being afraid of places i grew up at as a child is mad funny
Spot on! He's over dramatizing the video, this area isn't dangerous at all it's just a normal park.
Absolutely... But even people with his brain powers have to live and obviously being a drama queen in a regular city park is one way to do it, given the audience he has.
Nah boys dont get me wrong , these places look terrifying if you havent been there before . What i wanted to point out is the importance of the upbringing and the point of view . Im sure if i go to a similar place somewhere abroad i will be just as terrified. Gypsy slums are indeed dangerous , as well as secluded parks .
He was definitely over dramatising. Yes - the weather was perfect for a horror movie; yes - Fakulteta is a total shit hole, but he was so paranoid - even the martenitza on that tree scared him. For god’s sake - he did a convenient cashless payment a few meters before the slum 😂
I just thought the same 😂
Yo, bulgarian here, when Spanian visited a branch with a strange looking bracelet at 15:14 it is called a martenitsa. Its an ancient tradition that we wear in the beginning to end of march or until you see the first tree blossom the bracelet itself symbolises blood, conception, birth, warmth, friendship, mutual affection but mostly joy and hope, thats why when you hang it on the tree we traditionally make a wish or two.
That’s actually so good to read, I thought Sofia was violent but the comments are really saying otherwise. I wish the best for your country.
The funny fact is that Sofia is amongst the least violent capital cities in EU. It's just dirty and there are lots of poor (and unhappy) people. Hence angry people. But, I'd say there are bigger chances to get mugged in Barcelona than in Sofia.
@@stanbozhkov1338I agree
My Bulgarian friend, I'm Croatian, and I never knew this. That's beautiful. :D
surprisingly wholesome.
That “chin up bar” at the beginning of the episode is actually for cleaning your rug. You roll it up, get it out of the house, yank it over the structure and whack the crap out of it to get rid of the dust etc. At least that’s what it was used for in Poland where I grew up as a kid.
Trzepak 😆
It's used everywhere lol
I'm Scottish 🏴 I lived in Sofia for a year, honestly, some of the loveliest people on earth. Would drop a hat to help you with anything. I have a very special place in my heart for the Bulgarians. I also felt safe the whole time, and we would walk the streets at night all the time
Yes, bro! I am Bulgarian and I can proudly say Bulgaria is a safe place, people are generally friendly, even more friendly towards foreigners than to other Bulgarians sometimes. But, if you don't go that doggy areas, it's relatively safe for everyone who don't intentionally seek for problems.
A Sofia resident here - yes, the city is, as a matter of fact, surprisingly safe! I think that what shocked him was the sheer poverty, not so much the danger associated with messing with the wrong guys. I would be much more afraid of encountering big stray dogs rather than suspicious gypsies.
Granted, the mud and rain make the paranoia feeling go through the roof :D
Brave man who would live there for sure I don’t no why you would but I wouldn’t of left Scotland to go there not at all
@@qfx125 I left New Zealand and lived in Poland, Poland is safer than NZ and the people are more genuine. Don't be quick to make assumptions
@@qfx125why not? It's arguably a safer place and your money goes much further than in Scotland. And the weather and nature are way better
There is a saying in Bulgaria, “If you are afraid of bears, you shouldn’t go in the forest.” 🤣🤣🤣
What does that mean though because that just sounds like advice

25:25 Those chimneys are not pouring anything toxic its a Thermal power station working properly. The air in Fakulteta is poor because the people there often burn tires or fabric for heat in the winter.
Span, I have to tell you, those playgrounds in the beggining were THE BEST when we were young, most of the time they just dump you at the strange contraptions and say "do whatever, play", so you improvise on what to do. Lots of laughs we had there as children. Cheers, keep it up!
The best thing about these videos is when locals comment and expand more on what we are seeing, pretty cool to learn about any place Spanian goes to, not gonna lie.
Hats off to Spanian and the team! This channel has rapidly become my favourite, thanks for all the hard work!

I like all the videos. I live in Philadelphia PA in the USA. Our city has been struggling with homelessness, violence, and a very huge drug problem. It can be a stressful environment to live in and keep your kids safe in. I often wonder what it is like to live as a person struggling to improve in other parts of the world. Ty for sharing and exploring. These videos make me think allot about metal health and how closely linked to our housing crisis it is. Also, how important it is to have a place to go home and feel safe.
That bent bar was used for beating dust out of carpets. Beating carpets only! 😂
and its bend like that because a lot of people use it for pulling the engines out of their cars..
@@momchilmarinov7815 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That is freaking brilliant!
😂
I loved the video and laughed many times :)
The factory you mention is actually the heating plant which provides the heat for all the concrete building apartments around western Sofia`s neighborhoods. Sofia has several of these plants which support heating through the parts of Sofia during winter time. The polluted air you mention is not because if the smoke from the chimneys but because Fakulteta poorer residents are burning wood, plastic, rubber tires etc. in their home fire stoves, since they do not have central heating. Therefore, with the help of the wind, the whole western part of Sofia smells like shit during the winter or on a colder days.
The West park has always been wild like that, it has a `normal` section which actually looks pretty good, it is loaded with with barbecues, portable toilets, places where your dog can play and drink water from, brand new kids playgrounds, security cameras on every lamp, restaurants, etc. Your maps app just walked you through the `wild` part of the biggest park in Sofia which was hilarious to watch.
Fakulteta is named after the agronomical faculty, situated in the middle of the neighborhood, which is still active and was there before all the gypsies moved in there back in the 1930s. If you decide to visit again, bring me as a guide next time, I love walking through the West park and laughed a lot on your anxiety to go through paths on which I walk my kid and dog almost every weekend. :)
Great vid! :)
LOL he made a normal Balkan neighbourhood sound like the deadliest place on Earth
Where is all the graffiti. This is a tame bulgarian hood, my girlfriend lives right next to a gypsy camp and there is graffiti and football hooligans, their neighbour was chased out of the neighbourhood because he dared confront the gypsies about damage to his car.
To be fair even that wasn't dangerous.
Beautifully spoken like a real Irishman!

That strange rope you saw in the park, is called Martenitsa, and we ware it because of Baba Marta. We ware those bracelets around our wrist and this indicated the end of Winter and the beginning of spring. We take them off when we see a blooming tree and you tie it on that tree. Or birds which are only found during specific time of the year and not in winter. In addition those old Blocks are called EPK(Large formwork is the literal name) and yes they are still in use. Some of those old buildings were build during the Soviet regime and to this day they are still used. To us this is normal.
Very cool👍🇭🇲
The bird is a stork for you guys that want to know

What is Brutal? Go to Harrow in UK, now that’s dangerous, that was just dirty part of the city!
I've been watching since Spanian's first videos, and I just, for the first time, noticed the half a mil subscriber count! Well done sir, what a journey it's been so far 👏🤙
I've known him since Jail was in LongBay 2013 12 wing with him and remember when he first started socials and once he hit 5k followers on Instagram he freaked out and deleted everything hahaha so from that to now I'm stoked for him 💪
Hey, I am Bulgarian. Bulgaria and Sofia are much more than this. Overall Sofia is not more dangerous than Paris and London, for example. I could say it's even safer. You saw the metro is clean, cozy and new. Yes, there are doggy areas and of course air pollution is a huge problem.
15:07 - don't be afraid of this. They are called martenitsa - we, Bulgarian, put them on our hands on 1st of March each year as a sign for the upcoming spring. It's a long time tradition for health and prosperity. And when we see the first storks for the spring, we tie them on trees with blossom.

Bro, I was waiting for that episode! As a Bulgarian who grew in one of Sofia's hoods (Nadezhda) I can say it was "normal" for us to live in that places and enjoy childhood. HOWEVER! Fakulteta is a different story... I can admit you are madly brave to go alone there. I don't know another person who would do that! And yes, Sofia can top the list of into the hood locations as you said. Glad you ended healthy and un-robbed in the Fakulteta trip! :) Keep it up!

Hey guys, may I ask you as Bulgarians whats your take on Stolipinovo? I know it's in Plovdiv and not Sofia, but you sure know a lot about it, if it's really the ''biggest'' and ''worst'' gheto in Europe. I mean from the footage I've seen it' pretty crazy :D. Btw I've been to Burgas twice and it was really lovely! Love from Czechia
Pretty powerful images there brother. Real eye opener. I'm off gypsy blood and makes me so grateful to live in nz.
i bet you have nothing in common with *those* gipsies. If you see Tyson Fury and say "that's my representative" you should look up bulgarian gipsies. More like indians, as you can judge by the filth.
The big problem with the gypsy neighborhoods in general is that all the houses are illegally built over the decades. The state recognizes that there are people with their needs, but in the same time they don't pay taxes and the state can not provide the full list of benefits. It is a limbo. You can't get better living conditions, because you are poor. But you are poor, because you can't get better living conditions. It is a vicious cycle for poor people in general.
@@tkzsfen it's the hygiene of the people, inhabiting this area. Many other places are very, very clean.

What was dangerous in this video? Just dirty places! Go in Harrow Weald at night and feel the fear…
It’s not a forest. It’s a park. In Bulgaria many parks are kept as natural as possible. As if you to a forest these are a lot of our parks. So it’s ridiculous that he even didn’t check where he is going. In addition he really needs local to explain. The video itself show a life that is so far from the reality.
He made it as if it’s really dangerous which is far from it.

I know some people from the area, could ask around and get in contact with locals. In case you fans find this interesting, please like this so Spanian can see it!
poorest is almost always Moldova not Balkans. Also if he does go to Czechia h should do a slovakia detour and go check out Lunik 9, it's gotten better since the pope went there but it's the biggest slum in Europe
@@AjZ530 Last I checked GDP, Kosovo was lowest, but it's true that Moldova is also sadly at the bottom. Lunik IX has already been given international attention as you've mentioned yourself but I agree it would definitely fascinate Spanian haha. Pretty sure there are many places he could go to around Czech Rep/Slovakia such as Ostrava-Privoz.
Kosovo is an amazing place my bro, people are awesome! had a great time there. And yes your country IS beautiful.
100% poorest is Moldova or Belarus, more specifically Transistria in Moldova
