When I put the original throttle on it does register my battery and says that it has full Voltage which it almost does. As long as it's close I'm not overly concerned. But I was trying to track down why it wasn't working at all and it came back to being a throttle related issue. I've had similar issues where I get everything plugged in and connected and the display is programmed for the wrong battery and then once corrected everything works. That wasn't the case. But with so many different parameters to change I could have been trying that forever I'm glad I got right to the point with your help and then figured that wasn't the issue and went over to the throttle.
I have the radrover and upgrade the controller and motor . My controller seems to have a limit switch in place that disables my bike at 1200w . I see other ppl getting over 1500 w on their bikes . Anyway I can adjust this top end
C5 will adjust your max current, 00 is the lowest and 10 is the highest. If you want max power go to 10. Then C14 adjusts your power-assist, 1 being lowest and 3 is the highest. Set that to 3 and you're at full power-assist. Hope that helps.
Thank you so much, been wondering what each setting was for! So I have a 2019 Rad Mini fully loaded with the 35a controller and KT-LCD8H, added a 52v 17ah Hailong battery. What would be the best setting for Rad mini with these upgrades? I’m also adding the 750w true Baffang motor to it!
Tennyson clothing I love Citizen Cycles videos, he definitely inspires me. As for my upgrades I actually bought the Bolton kit & motor in January before he even posted his video. Unfortunately though mine took almost 5 months to ship. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
Do you know if the speed limit parameter can be used to adjust it while riding with keeping it on menu? Actually I have a sw102 and before each ride i open the speed limit and i am adjusting the speed limit as I don't have the throttle and being in europe it is very handy as it is the only way to riding over the speed limit and having the flexibility to ride a speed that you want. Also for any possible police control it is easy to put it again on the 25 speed limit in like seconds. Thanks.

Hi I was wondering if you could answer a question when the bike shows my wattage the the wattage always stays on I cannot add some pedal power and lower the wattage the bike is putting out what I mean is if I'm on pas1 say the wattages 200 w I cannot pedal and lower the Watts it will always stay around 200 or so. I was wondering if there's a way to lower the wattage in each pedal assist by pedaling hard to lower the wattage. It always shows a high wattage even if you're pedaling really hard I'm not talking about the settings to lower the wattage output I'm talking more of a pedal hard to make the Watts lower kind of thing. Any ideas thanks in advance.
Just got motor waiting on controller from Bolton. Besides the tire size, do you think all the other settings will be familiar with the radmini 4? Thanks for this vid!
Hi I have a Paselec Gs9 same display, but 27,5 tires. Could you help me setting the 5 level pas , because from 1 to 3 there is very low power motor..only 4 and 5 pas works well.
That's a tricky one, without knowing all the specs of your motor and PAS it would impossible diagnose exactly what settings you need. There isn't a setting to adjust each individual assist level either so it may just be the way it was designed.
Great information and thank you for the Vid! I just upgraded my Radrover 5 with the kit but I'm experiencing an Error Code (Motor position sensor fault) as I throttle nothing happens and that Fault code pops up. Any idea what this means? Thanks for your help! That was a test run after install. I just subbed to your channel glad I did!
CJ Allen check your wire connections first and double check all your settings. If that doesn’t do it I’d email or call Bolton, might be a bad controller.
I have a 52v 30ah triangle battery with upgraded Bolton bofang motor and controller with display. Thing is my battery cuts off at 51v meanwhile my brothers bike cuts off at 43v why is that? What do I have to fix in my settings to let me go longer?
Hi thanks for the video I was wondering if you could answer a quick question? I installed the Bolton controller and I want a little less power on the first couple of pedal assist settings. Do you know if that is possible?
My speedometer is not displaying the correct speed. I am using it on a 2019 Radrover with 12 posts on the PAS sensor and a 500 watt rear hub motor. I have tried using Bolton's video once and that left me with a throttle that would only function while I was in the advanced settings menu when I took it outside the throttle did nothing. After following your settings in this video that issue was corrected, but my speedometer is still not displaying the accurate speed. I had to be going 40 or 50 KM/hr but it said I was only going 2.5 km/hr. I think that I must have my gear reduction ratio set incorrectly but I have no idea how to correct this? With so much more available power it is even more crucial that I am able to see the correct current speed. Can you help?
P1 should still be 100, it’s based on the motor alone not the PAS. P2 is probably where the problem is, Bolton said to set it at 5 but that gave me speedometer issues, setting it to 6 solved my problem. It could also be the wheel diameter setting, try adjusting those two, P2 or DIM, and see if that helps.
I installed this on the radmission and it works great, but right now I can't get the pedal assist to work, everything else works amazingly well and it's fast as hell even with the stock motor. all the cables fit with no issues //Edit: throttle works now, it's one of the "C" settings with the magnets, I set it from 3 to 2 and it works great
@@SuPRCooPR Actually I left the ratio and magnets (motor magnets, set to 100) the same as in your video, seems to work perfectly fine. The only difference seems to be the PAS sensor (setting 2 instead of 3) and I set the max current to 10 but all the other settings I copied 1:1
Ok i do have a question. I installed the controller and display and everything seems to be working correctly except i have no idea what speed Im at. I have the fat tires and cant seem to program it correctly. Any help would be appreciated
You may have to mess with the wheel size, its the DIM setting, I had issues with that at first too. I used a speedometer app to compare and just kept changing the size until it got close to what the app speed was showing.
Did you ever zero in on the best P5 setting for the stock battery? I just installed the controller on my 2018 Radrover and am waiting on delivery of a new motor.
I put this on my 2020 RadRover 5 and everything is fantastic except I can't figure out how to get the speedometer accurate. I'm cruising near full speed and it's only showing in the low single digits mph. This baby really goes up hills now and acceleration is way better too.
You probably have your wheel diameter set wrong, it’s the second setting down that says DIM. With those big tires you might need to set the diameter up to 27 or 29.
@@SuPRCooPR Thanks for the reply. I tried that as well even trying a bunch of different wheel diameter settings and the max number I get on the speedo is around a 3.9 mph give or take. I'm not sure what's going on.
@@ConsolidatedPBY it could be either your P1 settings or P2 settings as well. P1 is the motor characteristic parameter, gear reduction ratio x number of motor magnets, the settings for my motor is (5x20)100 but maybe yours is different. Also P2 is the wheel speed pulse signal setting which is determined by the number of magnets on the PAS sensor behind the chainring and will effect the speedometer, it ranges from 0-6, try starting at 6, test that and move down from there to see if anything changes. Hope that helps
Hey I just described to your channel how you doing I just bought a red Rover five and I had some questions about the controller and the display can you help
@@SuPRCooPR No, did not upgrade the motor. It is a gearless 750W max Shengyi Brushless Hub Motor. 26 inch tires. 12 magnet cadence sensor, 1x7 gearing. Can you suggest any settings?

I have a question for you I have the upgrade kit but not the motor yet but my throttle is keep cutting out on me what do you think my settings should be set at I've been trying to figure it out but it keeps cutting out on me?
@@SuPRCooPR like the throttle works and then I pedal assist and I try to use the throttle again then it cuts out on turning on then my screen goes white and then I got to shut my screen off and then try it again and it won't do it again
@@TheY89 that doesn’t sound good, you may have a bad controller. I’ve heard several people say the throttle itself has gone out but it wouldn’t effect the screen like that. Make sure and triple check all the connections and if that doesn’t help I’d call Bolton.
@@SuPRCooPR I think it keeps cutting out because I still have the stock motor I just don't know what settings I should use for the stock motor and I still have the stock battery of 48 volt.
@@TheY89 for the stock motor try going with Bolton’s settings, they have them posted on their website. It’s worth a try, I still have the stock battery too so that shouldn’t be the problem.
So you just upgraded the display? If that’s the case try pressing the up arrow and the center button together and holding for a couple seconds, that’s how it was with the stock controller. If that doesn’t work it may not be compatible and you’ll need the upgraded controller. Hope that helps.
The DIM doesn’t have my tire diameter. Mines the fat tire 20” (radrunner) closest I get is 23” and it seems off by about 1mph. Also the odometer is way off too. I went 12 miles and it shows 16. Also the battery indicator at P5 setting 0 had two bars left and my battery cut off at 40v. I then changed the P5 setting to 15 and a few others and it showed full and I was able to ride the bike and the voltage dropped below 40v like the cut off limit quit working. I set P5 back to 0 and it still has all 4 bars and my voltage is at 40v. Will charge back up and see what happens. Pretty disappointing that the speedometer, odometer and battery voltage are all incorrect and unreliable.
I'm not sure why its only showing the lowest as 23", according to the specs it it has 15 different sizes from 5" to 29". As far as the P5 setting I gave up on that, I tried all the way from 10 to 30 and none of them were accurate. I just rely on the voltage for battery level.
I mean for MY tire diameter the closest ones are only 20” and 23”. I need 22”. Yeah after playing with the P5 settings and going back to 0 it’s saying a full charge even at 40v. I’m recharging it now and hopefully it will start working again at least as good as it was before. Is your trip meter / odometer accurate?
@@mpbuali same here. I dialed mine in. I posted a video with all my settings. If you want an accurate speedometer and odometer the trick is to enter 23” for the DIM (radrunner wheel is 22”) and then set the P1 to 103. Normally we want this at 100 but 103 compensates for the DIM being incorrect. I tested with my gps speedometer and odometer and went 17 miles and they are both spot on. These are my settings if interested: ruclips.net/video/cYFT7W_XKcY/видео.html
It doesn’t go to half steps but you could try setting it to 28” first and see how close the speed is with a speedometer app, waze works good. You could also try 26”, 700c or 29”, you’ll just have to test each DIM and see which gets you the closest.

@@SuPRCooPR that did the trick ... thx
Not sure, I’d just play around with the C5 & C14 settings while your out on a ride until you find a setting that feels right.
Thank you for the tip!👍
Kelly Adames glad to help, that set up on a mini has to be a blast!
Sounds like you copied citizen cycle and his upgrades because it's exactly the same
He has settings
Thanks.
Adjusting that while riding would be pretty sketchy and I doubt it would let you while the motor is going.
Awesome bro perfect just what I needed to know Stay Rad lol !!! 💯👈🏽
most ppl have a four pin passcode for banking....three is easier...use it!!! prevent the thief to take off..love your bike,, c-9 is a good locking system
My bike wasn’t doing over 10mph I tried ur setting and it went up to 14.1 I just need to know how to try get it a little faster
Just got motor waiting on controller from Bolton. Besides the tire size, do you think all the other settings will be familiar with the radmini 4? Thanks for this vid!
With the same motor and controller I think you should be fine. That's going to be a fun set up on a Radmini.
Tire would be 20 diameter otherwise similar to the rest
Very informative. Only problem I seem to be having is the PAS seems to cut off at 20MPH
I have the same issue. Although it doesn't cut right off, the watts lower to around 200 once I reach 20 mph.
Thank you!! Super helpful!!!!
Thank you very very much!
@@SuPRCooPR Worked! Thank you for your help!
Do you know if that is possible?
set C14 to 1
Does this work with the RadRunner 3?
Why are there 2 different versions of this display I have the same version as you,but I've seen the same display with a different screen
The best description online except mine has a little bit different settings than you?
Thanks, my rad running so much better,
Hello, I have an issue with my lcd8
It says copy complete and I did not intend to copy anything. Impossible to make it work again.
What can I do?
I installed this on the radmission and it works great, but right now I can't get the pedal assist to work, everything else works amazingly well and it's fast as hell even with the stock motor. all the cables fit with no issues
//Edit: throttle works now, it's one of the "C" settings with the magnets, I set it from 3 to 2 and it works great
I figured it might be something like that. The ratio for your motor and your PAS sensor are probably different than the Rover.
Helpful video. Thanks!
Anyone know how to adjust the walk mode speed? My walk mode seems to have too much power when I use walk mode....please help to tune down???
Hi, how can i custom my display for wheel 20" and maximun velocity and which one parameters?? Greetings from dominican republic.
Thank you!
Does anyone have a screenshot to share or setting outline for RadRover 6+ with the 35A Controller. Much appreciated.
Did you ever zero in on the best P5 setting for the stock battery? I just installed the controller on my 2018 Radrover and am waiting on delivery of a new motor.
15 is the right number for a 48V battery
@@SuPRCooPR Yes! I moved my P2 to 5 and the DIM to 28" and I'm now on par with my speedo app. Thank You.
Hey I just described to your channel how you doing I just bought a red Rover five and I had some questions about the controller and the display can you help
How can I help?
I tried you settings today on my Rad City. The PAS does not work. If I pedal it goes to 28 MPH for every PAS setting. Is there something I need to do?
Did you upgrade the motor as well? The amount of magnets on both the PAS sensor and the stock motor may be different on the City.
@@SuPRCooPR No, did not upgrade the motor. It is a gearless 750W max Shengyi Brushless Hub Motor. 26 inch tires. 12 magnet cadence sensor, 1x7 gearing. Can you suggest any settings?
Best thank YOU 😊
what to do if my settings are locked? (cant change any of them)
How do you start and stop the cruise control?
IF you haven't found the answer yet, go into settings and make sure C7 is set to 1 (cruise enable). While in motion and going faster than 7kph(4.4mph) press and hold the down arrow on the keypad.
I have a question for you I have the upgrade kit but not the motor yet but my throttle is keep cutting out on me what do you think my settings should be set at I've been trying to figure it out but it keeps cutting out on me?
Is it cutting out before the volts drop to 40?
Just installed it with these settings. 48v battery showing 53.4 on one bar?
48v is the nominal level, it could go even higher than 53v but for safety the bms limits it to 53.3.
Is this LCD good for roadrunner e bike
Hi, i just recieved mine with lights. but its not turning on my lights when i activate it. only the brake when i press brakes. any help? thanks.
Press and hold the up arrow for a couple seconds and the lights will turn on.
they dont it what iam saying. maybe because i dont have the upgraded controller?
So you just upgraded the display? If that’s the case try pressing the up arrow and the center button together and holding for a couple seconds, that’s how it was with the stock controller. If that doesn’t work it may not be compatible and you’ll need the upgraded controller. Hope that helps.
My question is how can you hard reset the Odometer? Like the whole odometer since the bike was bought.
Planning on selling huh 🤣
@@bruceking440 hahaha
@@sideburn It seems to be pretty accurate, I've compared it to several gps apps and they all match up almost exactly.
I have a 2020 RadRunner and was able to set my tire to 20 I have the new bolton kit including tail light
Do you know how to setup 27.5"wheel on this monitor?
It doesn’t go to half steps but you could try setting it to 28” first and see how close the speed is with a speedometer app, waze works good. You could also try 26”, 700c or 29”, you’ll just have to test each DIM and see which gets you the closest.
It's not a ''Bolton upgrade kit'', it's a ''Kuteng controller kit''. I just got a new version of LCD8H and a 40A sine controller for 130$, saved 100$, thank you very much. And I don't even speak Chinese.
I have a 2020 radrunner anyone know the best settings to put it on?
If its stock there's not much you can adjust in the settings. If you've added the upgrade kit from Bolton ebikes then hopefully this video and the notes in the description can help you set it up.
I have one off these screens on my 2000w kit, but it doesn't go as fast as my 15000watt kit with LCD3 DISPLAY, something isn't right with my settings, iv a 700c wheel , can anyone help because even this video doesn't make a difference not matter what I do to my settings
I jave the same.2000w on a 52 v not as fast as my old 100w that has a s900 screen
Fuck yea man your the greatest my bike refused to display any speed and this video helped so much thank youuuuuu 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
What are the L parameters can't find it anywhere?
If you're using a Bafang 750w or 500w the L parameters are just set to default, they don't apply to those motors.
