I use to live at a place with a dock that stretched out 250' into the intercoastal in south Florida. To be more specific, it was the Indian River lagoon. I was an avid fisherman at the time, and night after night I dealt with my rod being bent in half a some great creature escaping my grasp and sight. So I did what anyone would do, and I bought a rod and reel that would effectively act as a crane. I didn't have to wait long, only a day or two, before I finally reeled up the biggest god damn stingray I have ever seen. It had to be six feet across. It was massive, too big to pull up. I unhooked it by laying on the dock and using pliers that look more like forceps. Those are fairly shallow waters, waist deep in all but the channel, and if a creature can get that big in that environment I don't want to think about what's possible in open ocean. Yeah, monsters are real.
I could have sworn this channel had disappeared. I would fall asleep listening to The Pirates Port but then one day it was gone. Glad to see the channel back!
So glad you decided to upload this. Missed your content. Hope you continue on as you produce great content for us interested in the topic. Brilliant as always.
Good video 👍. .. I tend to think there's mostly 'some' basis for these stories.. but highly 'dressed up' for the landlubbers. 😝 Like seeing whales and seacows nursing their young for mermaids, the wind whistling through rigging sounding like sirens mourning songs, and pulling up one of those very large squid on an anchor for the Kraken or something.. kinda an inside joke. 😆
I'm glad you're back! If you did a serious of stories on each of the 1715 ships that'd be amazing! The Almirantas, the Capitanas of Don Jaun, and Don Antonio ❤❤ Every ship has an amazing story, crew, passengers, manifest. It needs to be told, and I feel you'd do each one Justice. Please! If you look, I've watched and seen every single one of your videos, and I've watched the 1715 Spanish Fleet over a hundred times..
🏴☠I hope you all enjoy this video! Have you ever encountered tales of sea monsters or mythical creatures? Which one intrigues you the most?
