Nicely done. Maybe those uncles don't think so. I just saw a thing recently where Jimmy Kritsanaphan ( one of my favorite Thai actors) from Why RU is taking some time off to deal with some mental issues, sad. I assume how to be a bl couple is coming.
Those uncles must be more than happy.. hehe... About Jimmy he is 22... so he was 19-20 when he was shipped with Tommy 4 years his senior. I think War of Y deals about the trauma BL actors face from shipping too. Come on.. how does it feel when you have to act as a couple nearly 24X7? A recent incident when a popular BL actor ( let's not take name) lost his cool with his co-star on the fan meet after an award show, when he clearly wanted to go home as he had been working a lot ( more like endorsements and variety shows, than real acting, with his Shipped actor) and his handlers along with the co-star's mother and sister wanted him to stay there and do the unnecessary couple fan meet so that the fans could give them all the money bouquets and the expensive gifts from all the brand names, really highlights the situation. I wanted to make a video about that.. but I think i will make one after the airing of War of Y including Jimmy's issue too. About mental issues.. the young actors are kinda groomed to be the fake love interest of another actor.. which is not healthy like in the case of Jimmy. And we can take the example of the same actor 'who lost his cool'. he was 15 when he signed his first BL and was shipped with another actor 4 years his senior. They worked together on 4 series in that 3 years and when it was revealed that the older actor had girlfriend.. things got messy leading to the cancellation of that actor. That younger actor also had a traumatic experience (he kinda got carried away too), and it affected his career for a whole year when he did very less work, more on supporting roles . However, he was able to turn things around with back to back award winning performance in a BL series and a BL movie, and may be he learnt his lesson, he was able to separate his private life (which he kept very private) and his screen life where he was shipped with different actors. And now all of a sudden he again found himself on similar situation. he had to take 1 week break and I think the talent agency missed out on a lot of endorsement planned for that week. Though both the actors are doing different projects, if something similar happens, that actor might even decide not to act anymore. ( I fear similar thing might happen to Barcode (age 17) who seems smitten by Jeff, and as Jeff joined BeonCloud now they will be shipped hard by fans as 2nd season is on the cards along with the world tour) About mental health issues Nanon has also opened up about his issues during the lockdown.
@@blcritic this is more detailed than I previously knew. Hard to remain buddies when family gets involved. A video on this issue would be fascinating, though more than a bit sad
Actually I have seen a lot of drama on the lakorn front.. I think the behind the scene is more raunchy than the lakorn itself.. the temper tantrums of the 'so called ' stars esp when they detest their co actors... the Mr. Knowitall directors and all the drama surrounding it. Hope the things are different in BL
@@blcritic When I saw the preview for War of Y I thought of you, interested to see how that turns out and even more interested to see a video from you on shipping. So much there to talk about. About the recent incident, I think there was a lot more there than we will ever know, they did a nice job of white washing it. Who was the girl with the long black hair that left with him after the incident and was recently with him at the big football game? But this really goes to the point that the fans are recording everything, see everything, that pressure must be horrible. We have Nanon talking about his mental problems, Singto talking about his and now poor sweet Jimmy. What is really sad, I saw a shipper/fan recently on TikTok talking about how she knows shipping and fan service is toxic, but she loves fan service so much she does not care, the more the better. The reality is the fandom who loves them so much does not love the real person they love the false image and the ship.
I think, that things like this are happening everywhere. It does not matter, if you want to be an actor or a clerk, you can always find an uncle, who is going to use you👎. And it only depends on you, if you are strong enough to get true this s..t and just stay who you are or you get lost. I guess there is a lot of artists who use those uncle in purpose, but after some time pass by, they will realise, that it was not worth it and they start to cry, so the whole world can regocnize them.
@@blcritic It's as if they've conditioned to accept it or have not other option other than to accept it. In both instances it's still unacceptable and these disgusting people preying off young people even worse when there's the added pressure of 'respecting your elder'.
Good advice and video. I am very curious, Khun BL Critic, do you think there is an improvement in the Thai acting industry for darker skin tone actors/actresses to be leads in BL/GL series? There are a few like Earth Pirapat, Singto Prachaya, Ohm Parawat, Jennie Panhan, and others, but not a lot. How about in lakorns ? The only one that I can recall who became a big leading star is Tony Jaa, but that was in the movies.
I am always shocked at the definition of "darker skin color" Type "cary grant color foto" into a search engine. The famous WHITE Hollywood actor of the 60's was browner than those you refer to as dark skinned. THE actor from Porsche has been teased for his skin color. Really, he is lighter skinned than many of my German students. I would like to know what is behind this. Is it a North-South conflict, descent from some indigenous people, or the struggle of the descendants of slaves against descendants of masters?

I do not work in the BL industry but I have worked in the Thai entertainment industry.. and the things there is the same, hence I made a video about what i saw.
Since the shelf life for most of these young people as actors has to be really short, I wonder what the ultimate benefit is. Maybe the screen results become, in effect, video resumes that help them find longer term careers?
That's what I thought, too. What an immense amount of work, what a waste of time and psychological torture. But I think that about so many professions where you're in the public eye. I guess you have to be born to do that. But at the end of the day, was it worth all the stress?
@@j_scott I think once you are assigned to a genre, it is hard to change the subject. this is also true in Hollywood for action or comedy or other genres. However, you can still make action films for quite a long time, like Jean Claude Van Damme, but with BL films it's over after 40 if you're an old fashion cupcace from Japan. in Thailand, where BL used to be a school film where an endless line of juniors and seniors groped each other, it's probably over by the time you're 30.
@@beater655 Which is one of the very many reasons why I'm so hard-pressed in wanting to see BLs take on other settings outside of the university/high school backdrop. These actors, who gain their fame in BLs (Bright/Win, Mew/Gulf) have very limited shelf time, in regards to the entertainment industry. They have to branch out, in order to not be typecast, but the really strange thing, that I have noticed, is that some of these BL fans/stans really resent these actors from actively wanting to branch out from just being cast, with their co-star in more BLs. Certain stans have absolute tantrums over seeing one half of their BL pairing, being cast in a series, with a female actress as their object of affection. I use the Bright/Win pairing as an example. Their stans, went after the actress named Tu, who was cast as the female lead in the Thai adaption of "Boys over Flowers". Those Win stans, refused to watch him in "Devil Sister", and as much as "Astrophile" is really entertaining, the stans for both Bright/Win, and Off/Gun aren't watching that series. I know this type of situation will eventually happen to Earth/Mix, and it scares me, because I think they need to do more separate series, outside of their pairing. They also have to be inspired as actors/performers in these projects. As for Mew/Gulf, their situation is very difficult. These fans are really hard-pressed to see these two performing again in a series, which I don't think will ever happen again. It's sad, and strange to see how some of those fans, really resent that Mew, and Gulf are contracted to do things, series, specials, movies that have absolutely nothing to be connected to "TharnType".
@@VixenByNight72 The phenomenon of the dream couple always exists. Rock Hudson and Doris Day, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt...The fact that this has to be a lifelong relationship and that fans want to control life and work is probably a consequence of the fact that idols and BL actors have a fandom that includes a high percentage of mentally ill, unstable people who are dissatisfied with their own lives. Everyone watches films for entertainment and wants to escape their existence now and then. But most people don't care about the actors. They always have another film partner and nobody cares. not so in this genre. That can only mean that here the fans are different. Wanting to control someone's life and work means that you have a mental defect and can't tell fiction from reality. I feel sorry for all those who have such fans, who could have come straight out of a Steven King horror novel.
Is it odd that Be On Cloud issued that release in English? Unless there are specific reasons for reaching English-speaking fans, wouldn't an apology statement in Thai suffice? I mean that "statement" contained no solid information at all. Pure PR fluff. So why bother?
BoC initially only put out their press releases in Thai, but then international fans complained about not knowing what was going on. So, the started issuing Thai and English press release. During the entire run of the series, there seemed to be a new situation every week, particularly on Thursdays, that BoC had to issue out some press release.
English translations of the controversy were all over twitter. KP has a big international following, so it makes sense to make the press release in English too.

( I fear similar thing might happen to Barcode (age 17) who seems smitten by Jeff, and as Jeff joined BeonCloud now they will be shipped hard by fans as 2nd season is on the cards along with the world tour)
About mental health issues Nanon has also opened up about his issues during the lockdown.
@@blcritic you know they are not haha
So true... There is always some ' uncle' to be wary of... Also there are 'aunty' too nowadays at workplace to exploit naive newbie.
True.. it exist everywhere... however.. some are actually okay with it.. and that's the horrifying part.
Tay Tawan included🤣, I second your opinion this topic should be talked about.✅
@@Fantasticzone Thanks for the additional actor. 👍🏽 It definitely needs to be discuss. It is like the white elephant in the room regarding BL casting.
Great point. I'm interested to see that topic discussed, too.
@@j_scott Hopefully. 🤞🏽
This video was accurate as always.you always talk about controversial issues and of course talk truthfully and neutrally 👏.are you a Thai netizen ?how do you collect all information 🤔?are you a journalist?
Sorry if I offended you with my questions 😅 I am just curious
I do not work in the BL industry but I have worked in the Thai entertainment industry.. and the things there is the same, hence I made a video about what i saw.
Since the shelf life for most of these young people as actors has to be really short, I wonder what the ultimate benefit is. Maybe the screen results become, in effect, video resumes that help them find longer term careers?
That's what I thought, too. What an immense amount of work, what a waste of time and psychological torture. But I think that about so many professions where you're in the public eye. I guess you have to be born to do that. But at the end of the day, was it worth all the stress?
That's my question, too. How many of them are able to translate BL success into mainstream success? I can only think of a handful.
Nice video💯👌👏.
It is quiet shocking to know that, casting couch like thing exist in BL industry too 🤔.
@@VixenByNight72 "seemed to be a new situation every week..." an actual issue? Or "some minority of fans is upset about a minor thing; so, we will do damage control anyway" type of issue?
@@johnmaster3748 Damage control across the board, and to keep the series trending up until that week's episode aired on Saturdays.
What happened?

Are u a thai citizen ? It would be icing on the cake 🎂. I always want to try dating a thai. 🤗
hehe thank you for your kind words... I am not worried about followers as youtube is not my job, so it gives me some freedom, ( unlike the series reactors who have to act excited and give positive reviews to shit series also). What are your views about dating a half-Thai Half Australian?

(Off topic as usual) Yikes. Prompted by respected comments, I went and checked out Track Laugh, I mean Rak Diao featuring Khun Squeak and Nong Boink. Are they serious!? I ended up watching for a while with sound muted and reading subs (not that unusual) but then I was still watching the way over the top acting. Now to find something good...
haha.. kill me Khun Squeak and Nong Boink...
What if i am from India what should I do
I would love to be a bl actor one day, just, I'm a female 😂 if you could ever do so, can you pls make a vid on how to become a gl actress? 😫😫 tyy
Hey you should watch an Indian gay series called Romil and jugal it is very realistic given the demographic conditions and great actors.
What about those who are not Thai??!!🙂
Being a actor is very difficult and even being a bl actor that's more difficult but i wanna try for one's
it is not that difficult, it is comparatively easy than being a lakorn actor, but yeah finding good BL that'll work wonders is difficult.
@@blcritic but as a forginer can i become a Thai bl actor
Yes, just go to the casting call.. but you should learn at least 'working' Thai. How about studying in Thai University for a year, it will give you a lot of idea. however, the Universities are not like as shown in BLs.
