Right now I drive a 98 Camry. i bought it used (dealership) 8 yrs ago and it had been trouble free ever since just regular maintenance, my wife used 2 have a Chevy Cavalier from the same year🤦🤦🤦🤦 what a nightmare.. part of the reason you almost never see that many american made cars overseas.....

      Mostly agree, but be aware nothing is ever set in stone. Honda's reliability has dropped to the point where they are no longer in the top 10 according to consumer reports. Their use of CVT transmissions and turbocharged engines are really hurting them. Another pro tip: Use polishing compound/wax on a wool buffer and take down the tint adhesive/residue where the window tint used to be. Using very little goes a long way with very light passes across your window. You can also use it on the exterior windows and they will repel moisture for upto 3-4 months per polish and you will hardly use your windshield wipers!! I do the same thing every 6 months on my Genesis, and it saves me countless hours during the week washing bugs off.

    • @TinyIowa

      @Keila Nuila ... this was our son's second car. The first one he bought with his own money (at 14 years old) that he saved from working for neighbors and from gift money (birthday's & Christmas etc). Kids in Iowa can legally drive at 14.
      He is a 4.0 student from k-10th grade (going to be a junior this year), he also works full time, of course he doesn't work full time when he's in school... but he still puts in 30-35 hrs a week. Since he's been around 4 years old, we've taught both of our children economics. Since he cannot invest into the market, he's been investing in silver since 4 years old too. He has Many ounces of silver. I'm not bragging about our children, I'm just letting you know how we've raised our children. Their grandparents always used to tell us... "they don't need to learn all this stuff when they are this young", but I told them, "bull crap! They need to know this stuff now because they way this world is getting. There is no silver spoon here, as we have to give them the biggest advantage we can and that's real education." Also my son was reading full books at 4 years old too. ..we have video proof on that... with ZERO Daycare.
      Again, it's all in the way you raise your children. When they're a baby, it's like having a bran new computer with nothing on it. What you do with it, how you decide to 'program it' (if you would consider that) is what you'll get out of it. Yes maybe they'll be like, 'well screw you... I'm going to do it my way,' but if you start them out doing and teaching them valuable knowledge, when they do decide to "grow up", they can always revert back to the foundation we set for them. The way we look at it... each year is a block to their foundation. If you have a piss poor foundation made for a house, it'll crumble. But if you build a strong foundation... like every year equals a new set of blocks laid... by the time they're a legal adult (18 years old), they'll have one hell of an 18 block foundation laid out... so if their house does crumble... they can Always Rebuild on that well built foundation.
      Good day, God bless and God speed.

    Nice car, but not sure how Scotty could recommend this car unless he just isn't familiar with them. The 250 has a lot of issues with carbon build up and damaging the cylinders causing oil consumption. The 350 has a much more reliable engine. Lexus rebuilt countless of these things under warranty. Had a friend at the dealership show me them lined up for engines. No idea what Scotty was smoking, but these cars for sure have had major engine issues.

    • @bioheart09
      @bioheart09 3 года назад

      You get past the buildup if you do maintenence slightly earlier. Your not wrong, it's just there's ways to prevent that, and knowing your cars history is important aswell.
      Taking the car to its limit is necessary as well. Oil needs to lubricate the entire engine and knock carbon build up ontop and push it into the fluid so during the change it comes out at the bottom. A magnetized oil screw could be nice aswell.

    • @briantii
      @briantii 3 года назад +1

      @@bioheart09 The carbon build up occurs on the intake valves, breaks off, and scores the cylinders. Combine that with rings that were designed for efficiency first is where the problem comes in. Oil changes, good gas, etc all help but the problem is inherent to the design. Lexus drivers don't brag about our cars. Nothing to brag about. The car does all the talking. No matter the year these cars keep pushing. Plus they look really good. I'm to tall for a IS. I've owned a ES and I currently have a GS and I intend to upgrade to a LS 1 day. Mercedes and BMW will never get my money. Maybe on a Lease or Rent. But when it comes to ownership. Lexus here I come. I throw my money at these people. There cars are great.

      ...I had a few AUDIS yrs ago, but swithced to LEXUS bcs not only did the AUDI s stay in the shop for minor stupid stuff, the repair bills were a joke. I used to laugh when I saw the bill. I had an 09 GS350 but traded it for a 2011 LS460. If you get an LS, get rear wheel dr and don't get the air suspension.
      $1,000 a peice for each air shock when they go bad and you have to replace all 4. I only have 59K miles on mine, so the air suspension has no problems. Only other problem to look for on the LS is front control arm replacement. Pretty expensive.

It developed all sorts of issues.. cracked oil pan, failed fuel pump, etc. Scotty told her if she wants something fancy, get a Lexus. If you have moisture in the car to peel the tint then water is getting in somewhere and its not just normal moisture in the air. its very common in these for the sunroof drains to become blocked by debris.... next time youve got a good rain storm, feel your carpets all over especially front area where you store your feet. this goes for any vehicle... if all of your windows are closed and you come out of your house in the morning to see that your windows are fogged over on the inside, then youve got a good bit of water getting in your car somewhere from a leak or a bad evaporator or the evaporator drain is blocked. Hope this helps.
