If you’re a regular follower of this channel or if you’ve listened to our weekly Kilowatt Half Hour podcast, you’ll know that there’s one electric car that has become the benchmark for quality, comfort and general excellence. It’s not a Tesla, a BMW or even a Kia. It’s… the Škoda Enyaq.
And this right here is the facelifted version that’s about to go on sale at a Škoda dealer near you. The lovely people at Škoda invited us out to Prague to have a jolly good look around it. And decide if it’s still going to be an electrifying.com favourite?
We’re not the only ones who love the Enyaq. It was the UK’s best-selling EV in October last year and Škoda has shifted more than a quarter of a million of them across Europe since its launch. It is, at the time of recording, Europe’s fourth best-selling electric car. And that can’t all be down to Ginny constantly banging on about it.
Although this is officially called the Enyaq facelift, it’s been an update of two halves, really. This refresh mainly focuses on design and kit, because all the important bits underneath were changed last year.
Škoda didn’t make a song and dance about it at the time, but the changes were actually pretty significant - especially to the big battery 77kWh model, which is the one we buy most of in the UK.
When it was launched, the standard Enyaq generated 201bhp and 310Nm torque. Last year, Škoda quietly bumped that up to 282bhp and 545Nm of torque. The change took nearly two seconds off the 0-62mph time and made the Enyaq a lot more fun to drive.
Because it was such a big update, Škoda hasn’t changed anything in the battery and motor departments for 2025. Like before, you can choose between the entry-level Enyaq 60 that comes with a 59kWh battery pack, and an Enyaq 85 which has a 77kWh pack. Oh, and you’ll also be able to choose between SUV and Coupe body styles.
The only thing that has changed are the charging speeds. The Enyaq 60 can now rapid charge at speeds of up to 165kW, while the Enyaq 85 peaks at 175kW. That means that you’ll be able to bag a 10-80% charge in under 30 minutes on both models.
To discover more, join Nicki as she takes you through all the key updates for the 2025 model. Has Škoda improved the Enyaq or taken it in the wrong direction? Let us know in the comments below.

Great video! The only thing missing is that you also convert the estimated range to km. That way, all viewers can easily get an idea of the range. This is something I’ve really missed in all your videos. Thanks!
divide by 62.2 x 100 😁
I'd love to see the KM range as well. So much easier instead of having to use a calculator or using google...
I have a 2024 Enyaq 85 Coupe WLTP is 576km, real world range more like 430km, expect this to be marginally better.
@@kyknekeerthanks!!
It’s not a difficult conversion at all
My Enyaq 85 Advanced in Olibo is ordered for July. Can t wait to get it... It is my first EV! Love it ❤ Greetings from Germany
Love the new subtle changes on the new Enyaq, Škoda awesome job.
Now we need Scout version ❤😂🤟😍🤩
Great video Nicki
much better looking front :) That color is stunning
You guys keep outdoing each other all the time. Each review is better than the previous. Love this channel.
Skoda have really upped their game. I look forward to the full review.
That's a gorgeous interior, way better than anything else in that price range
We rented a Skoda Enyaq to drive around France, Belgium and Germany in Dec 2022. It was lovely. It wasn’t the sportiest EV I’ve ever driven, but it was exceptionally practical and we had no complaints in the 3 weeks we drove it.
The updated power trains are considerably faster, I have 2024 one and the acceleration is crazy
Should have waited for this with 285 hp.
@@whatthe6532 That’s still much less than the 480 hp I get out of my Mach-E GT. 😀
The interior on the car shown on the Review is very impressive.
I love Skoda, had five. But i couldn't come at the first Enyaq grill. This is beautiful.
You have to share. It's just amazing
Love that colour. Lexus have a similar one. It's very classy.
The car looks better than the first generation, where the front was a bit controversial. This design is nicer to look at. It's just a shame that VW won't let Skoda use the largest 91kWh(86 usable) battery for MEB platform cars, which is in the ID7 Pro S.
I understand it would raise the price but it would be a nice option.
I think this is more because the id7 has a longer platform and can fit an extra row of cells in.
@@silverdragonslair That's a real possibility, but it would also mean VW has made no progress and is getting behind with the MEB on the battery pack. If cars with similar wheelbase to the Enyaq from others can have bigger batteries. For example: Renault Scenic E-Tech 87kWh usable or Peugeot e-3008 96kWh usable.
Fantastic colour inside and out.
Yeah, it's absolutely spot on in my humble opinion.
Yeah it's absolutely spot on in my humble opinion.
Nice switches, black but not piano black. Nice looking car, inside and out. Wish more brands put as much effort into the little bits and pieces that are really useful.
I like that she pointed out that the chrome strip is matte, other reviewers don't mention it, but she did miss that the handles are also matte and what you say they removed the piano black for matt plastic. Those are what annoy me most about mine, the key fob is still scratchy piano black though.
The new Enyaq 60 looks like a really good deal... 446km range (coupe) and 10-80% in 24 minutes. That's plenty enough for anyone! If the price just ends up being good, then it should be a really big seller!
Facts.
@@PaulPaidin reality that'll be 220 miles summer and 200 winter. I have a car that has that range and it's fine but for those long trips it's a little tedious.
446 from 60kwh battery? check your math man, my citigo does 16kwh/100km
Don't you have viewers outside the UK? When you talk about miles it would be nice if the km equivalent is written on the video so that we do not have to pauze the video and calculate. Thanks!
miles multipled by 1.62 = KM .....simples.
@andrewedwards7880 I know this is the most easy one but still yet not nice to calculate while the video goes on.
Correct. Imagine england made up the language english but they are allowing USA to rule them for it because of super power. Lol. 😂😂😅😅
@@andrewedwards7880so you claim 365 miles divided by 1.62 = 225km 😂 Last time I checked 1 mile = 1.609 km so 365 miles equals 587km
@@macroenie correct, like I show 😄😄
Another excellent review as usual, this will probably be our first EV and the coupe version. Looking forward to seeing the RS version. Just an observation, many of my friends enjoy your channel and it’s come up in conversation a few times. Are you targeting the UK market only or the rest of the market in Europe..? If so can you please provide the relevant information, range, acceleration etc in both metric and imperial measurements. As the UK is the only country still using the imperial system across Europe it can only help you reach a wider market. Great review again thanks 🙏
Great content, also since I discovered bridgestone turanza t005 tires I love them and I highly recommend, they even have rim protection, they will last, front axle drive car 20.000 miles per set, rear axle 40.000 miles later and still 4 mm left treat.Kia sportage 2020
Skoda has improved so much that this car is now best in class with an interior bordering on perfection. In hindsight I should not have bought a Tesla half a year ago and waited for this. Not only because I think this is overall a better car but also because a certain Elon went from being a bit eccentric to carrying out acts of evil in the meantime. I'll be the first to admit that I experience some moral hangover from having supported that with our hard earned money (even if I didn't realize how unscrupulous he had become at the time).
Well, I think your Tesla has far more range. Right now I get 218m range during the winter in the enyaq. What yours ? I'm getting About 2.7 miles per kwh
@@akubel33t Efficiency is certainly one of its most significant strengths. Another is the sound quality of the stereo. On the other hand the indicator buttons, phantom braking and everything else the car decides to do without my control at random is what frustrates me (apart from Mr. Musk and his propagandistic disinformation).
Sadly Thor, the signs that Elon was a despicable excuse for a human being have been present for a good 18 months, but well done for recognising it, however belatedly
Are you buying a product or CEOs behavior? Seems silly to discount a product based on that
@@stuartburns8657 Yeah, that's the only thing holding me back from buying one of the "Bought before Elon went crazy" bumper stickers. I guess I'll have to create my own with a more accurate wording with regards to the chronology.
Previous model already had software 5.0, this seems to be 5.4 the toolbar and battery preheating aren't new. What's new is you can make a shortcut to disable all the annoying European regulation beeps (which you might not have in the UK), also you don't need to click OK everytime you start the car. One thing I think should be mentioned is that alot of the features in the infotainment are subscription based, by default you get almost everything for 3 years, some things like trafication are only 1 year free. I don't mind because I use android auto but that doesn't autopreheat to chargers or knows my battery levels.
I have a week 50 2024 car which I believe is the same motors/battery and software as this facelift car and find it's requesting ok every time I get in it. Does it go off in time or is there a setting? Only had it a couple of days.
Cupholder divider can be repositioned to accommodate larger beverages, but it will not fit if you bring that gallon sized thermo monster ;)
One minute in and already got the idea…you are grateful for the free excursion.
When you compare this with ID cars, the ID actually look like cheaper brother 😂🤷♂️
Looks fantastic.
Love the car!
Fab looking car and love the colour. I can't believe how much better this is than the other VAG models - for me the best looking car on the MEB platform by a significant margin.
Buttons on the wheel, wow! Revolutionary these days
I have the current 85x, fantastic car in warm weather. In the current weather it won’t preheat (even at 100%), keeps disconnecting from the skoda app, passenger heated seat has stopped working, distance is between 150-210 miles maximum.
Anyone would think this is a sponsored review! The only criticism is the size of the cup holders! Might as well just be on the Skoda website, it probably is, or will be soon.!
When does this one come out in the uk
The English pronunciation of coupe is coupe not ‘coop’. Why have no many UK motoring journalists stopped using English? It is the same with the ‘front-boot’, it’s a froot not a frunk. The UK is not the 51st state of the USA even if Trump, Musk and car journalists think so.
It's written and pronounced as coupé, in fact
Kind of a French word, actually
“Why have no many UK motoring journalists stop using English?” 😂
Languages evolve, even the most perfect speaking people today would be considered as barbarians and laughed at by the language teachers who lived one hundred years ago.
If you're familiar with the IMF bailout of the 70s, the war bonds from the 40s and the more recent state of decay and dependency on international speculative finance/tax avoidance and NATO, it's undeniable that the UK is the 51st state of Yankistan among many others in its sphere of influence
Looking forward to seeing a review of the Epiq once you've managed to get your hands on one.
Great looking car and pleased they have dropped the badge in favour of the name.
The only thing to make the design perfect is the connect the rear light with the similar front led lights but in red colour n slightly more oval back of the car to match the front
Is this the new 2024 /or the new 2025 I have just ordered one it’s coming at the end of the month 😊
Great content. Car looks absolute Fab
Nice looking capable family vehicle, should sell really well,
More choice, more competition, better for the consumer.
Way too expensive, ridiculous
I’m amazed that Skoda have now produced a version to keep chickens in, surely having a ‘coop’ version would make a very expensive chicken house but maybe someone out there has posh chickens 😂😂😂
Great review...very watchable....this car ticks all the sensible boxes and hopefully the vRS box will also be available at some point too..!!...:-)
This redesign, along with the recent tech and revised software upgrades, makes me feel like I could now consider an 85 LR spec, whereas I probably wouldn’t have done with the mk1!
It would look better with the original headlights... Or any traditional one piece headlight units. Otherwise the design is okay
I got the 2024 Enyag 85 with the updated baterry and software, Ye the front end is like or hate situation but really good car. I like the look of this one and would get another when time comes to it
To me the original in sportline looks better - more imposing - this new front end now looks very similar to other Korean cars and Renault Scenic
What a nice looking car. Probably one of the best externally designed vehicles on the market today. But, it is such a shame that when the rear seats are folded that the boot space is not flat. There is a definite 'hump' in the floor area, which would make loading items that needed to remain nigh on pretty much flat, almost out of the question. And, is there a spare wheel?
Preferred the front of the previous version!
Why they removed headlight washers?
Like the old one. Facelift is good. But I still want a small Skoda EV. Smaller (and cheaper) than the Enroc too, please.
The production version of the Epiq should be released later this year.
I think ‘Modern Solid’ is a hark back to ‘Brutalism’. So a way of saying, we’re easing into the breeze block look. Though we aren’t yet going for the full water tank Brutalist look, that Kia are replicating.
Is there an option to not have the crumb catching leather seats? ( leather seats without perforations.(almost a deal breaker for me)
Looking to get the new 85 but as a ski instructor I like the ski hatch but am super worried about the range in cold weather and cost of charging to get to/from the Alps. Currently 2 tanks of diesel does it 850 miles at c £120, 4 motorway charges sound like they could set me back twice that.. Ouch.. Plus of course all that waiting around where as I normally do Calais to French Alps with just two short stops.
I have an 85 and highway consumption in cold weather on winter tyres will average between 21 and 25 KWh. That’s a charge every 250 km and will cost you more than a diesel.
Thanks for a great video, as usual! This is a very well designed facelift, about how it should've looked from start.
There is one thing though. That light gray plastic at the bottom for the base model, feels like they are holding your car as "ugliness hostage" if you don't pay extra for a trim package.
I agree Skoda are making the best use of the underlying VW platform of all the brands which use it. It looks to be a bit expensive and does not suit any of the three use cases in our household. I think Mini’s take on what an interior and UI/UX should look like is better, but then you do not get the same amount of space or range. It should continue to do well. Fun preview, thank you.
Not much news and none which makes it stand out from the previous model . It is minor changes but is it worth paying for ?
Not letting Ginny do this launch was cruel 🤣
do they have wireless android auto in this one? and built in navigation?
I like your videos with Nikki
Why is everyone mentioning the cupholder? Pull the center piece out,put it in a different position - voila! Fits a redbull can one side and a larger mug/bottle on the other
My first car was a Skoda 45 years ago. Oops maybe shouldn't have said that =-0
ANYWAY this looks great! Wow
Looks nice. the charge port is on the wrong side for my garage though :(
Im pretty sure that the 85 peaks at 135kw. The 175kw is for the 85x and 60 will peak at 165kw. Doesnt really matter though, my Cupra Tavascan peaks at 135kw with the same battery, and it takes just under 28 mins from 10-80%.
Not really a huge fan of the new look. The old front looked a lot more masculine, while the new is rather anonymous looking. And i still think its a bit too pricey.
Reminds me of a Focus Estate! Otherwise very appealing. Will keep running my 2016 Octavia VRS estate until we get proper infrastructure in deepest darkest West Wales ;)
But how far does it do when the temperature is below zero? Is it not time EVs were rated at different temperatures as that is what really affects the range
I can answer this as I have the 77kw 2024 version. 218 miles with the heating on 😅 UK winter
@@akubel33t ... which nicely illustrates why leaving out the heat pump is so crazy. Used ones with a heat pump are always snapped up immediately, often for £2k+ more than the going rate for a similar spec without the heat pump. The same happens with Ioniq 5s and EV6s. It's time lease companies recognised this and reduced the lease costs with a heat pump. That would wake distribution up to the folly of leaving them out.
@@markdearden1697 I read about a test with and without the heat pumps, the extra range is very, very small. These are the results of a test that WhatCar did
The numbers:
Volkswagen ID 7 Pro Match (with heat pump)
19in 77.0kWh 381 miles 268 miles 29.6% 3.5 miles/kWh 8.3p
Volkswagen ID 7 Pro Match (no heat pump)
19in 77.0kWh 383 miles 254 miles 33.6% 3.3 miles/kWh 8.3p
On a cold wet day at 6 degrees
NIce update and impressive looking.
Heatpump....yes/no/optional extra ?
It's VAG so it's definitely an optional extra, as will everything else.
Toyota engineered the bZ4X for longevity, with batteries retaining 90% capacity even after ten years. This durability underscores Toyota’s commitment to reliability, making the bZ4X a dependable choice for long-term electric vehicle ownership.
Since its price is nearly identical to that of the Model Y, the lack of a heat pump leaves it at a significant disadvantage in competing with the Model Y in Nordic countries.
At leasat in sweden skoda has offered it with heat pump as standard when I looked last time. Can't look right now as all the outgoing cars are the bigger 85, all including heatpump
Have you see The interiour? Tesla still havent received One 😂 worth a lot of money as you spend your time in it 😅
In Sweden, it is standard on both ID4 & Enyaq...
Musk is the reason I wouldn’t buy a Tesla Model Y. To think even a few hundred of my hard earned will go directly in his pocket.
Heatpump is overrated. The money you save on electricity will never cover the added costs of a heatpump and the service/repair of it.
Great review, although I'm sure Ginny will be jealous :-)
Impressive car
Great looking car
So no changes to the interior, which is ok for me as I have tge suv Spirtline currently
Suite* @6.26. Anyway, great review and what a handsome car for its type
Lovely car! I really like the Enyaq. Problem i have in the UK is that there is no incentive to buy one. The UK will increase road tax on electric cars over £40k in April and they are very expensive to buy and insure. Unless the UK government offer some for of incentive to me then right now it is a NO!
It's a no from him and a no from me. These prices are way too high. May be its I'm too poor. Whatever, no. I may be showing my age, but what is it with cup holders. I use a car to go from A to B, then I will have a drink. Even on long journeys, I stop for a drink. Put a storage container where the cup holders are, much more useful.
Ha! This caught me by surprise, but I am pleased to discover that the tech is the same as the one I just bought, and I still get my massive blingy Crystal Face grill (I am not a huge fan of the Modern Solid look)
Hi, where do you have from this charging rates? My Dealer does not have this numbers yet and there is no documentation on the Skoda website. On the site ev database, they say it is 135kw so the same as in the 2024 facelift - what would make sence as under the hood nothing changed - same battery, same engine. Thank you!
When is it coming out?
3:20 are we sure about most aerodynamically efficient? Because its not the same as Cx coefficient.
Let's wish them good luck. Hopefully, Skoda is not shutting down its factories or going on strike!
Very nice inside love colour , not so keen on the SUV too much like the new mini vans I would go for the coupe . On another subject I would like to see you guy's do a show on EV tyres I drive a Genesis GV60 with 60K km I will need tyres soon there is not a lot to choose from but there are more coming on the market like the new Ion Hankook so a tyre episode would be useful . Thank you from Vancouver Island BC Canada .
Not a cup holder problem, more like a drinking problem. Drink less, use small cups
Time to mansplain to her that her cylinders are the standard vessels for the British nuclear warheads, not coffee cups. ;-)
In our Karoq you can't fit two normal takeaway coffee cups side by side and a small tends to disappear down the hole, not as bad as the RAV4 though.
@@paulaus - perhaps both Skoda and Toyota want you to buy their custom sized cups, a snip at 10 squidtrillion each plus VAT and labour.
Asking Ginny to drink less Tea… now that’s a scary thought! ;-)
😂😂😂😅😅😅
It's like the Golf before it: Want an EV? Just get an Enyaq.
It's the best all rounder out there without a T on the badge (or an "Ioniq 5")
Way too expensive, ridiculous
You do know that you can pull the cup holder divider up and reposition it to make one of the sides big enough for your cup….
When is the Epiq coming out, any idea ?
Been waiting for this one!
Way too expensive, ridiculous. Waiting for the EPIQ from Skoda
Not only Skoda, but many other EV's - notably Kia/Hyundai - seem to be evolving at a terrific rate. Shame Skoda ditched the flying chicken badge.... I've sat in the previous Enyaq, and the space and quality is right up there....Skoda's interior design is way nicer than VW's.... In a fairly recent Auto Express back to back test between the Golf 1.5 Tsi Match, and the Octavia 1.5 Tsi SE Technology, the Octavia came out ahead of the Golf. Autp Express rated the Octavia as a more spacious, higher quality car than the Golf..... It was also cheaper than the Golf.
It looks so much more modern - that brash fake grille on the pre-facelift car always put me off it.
Best looking EV from the VW group, IMHO. Inside and out. Very practical. These guys think! Price is too high. New Model Y is more tempting.
Karoq and Kodiaq used to be easy to mix up based on a quick look, guess now the same for front of Elrog and face-lift Enyaq ... (would not choose to do this if I was Skoda, but hey, e. g. Audi has been in the same mode for a long time, so maybe this is what ppl wants)
Awesome review. Electrifying is always informative and fun to watch. Slap a VW badge on this, build it in Chattanooga,TN and sell it in the US. The ID.4 is a snooze fest to look at. Thank goodness the Enyaq doesn't have piano black and capacitive buttons.
Nah, with your middle finger towards Germany by your orangutan president you don’t deserve any new models built in the usa
I have the 2024 L&K (Delivered December) - It's a very good EV, drives nice, nimble for it's weight, quiet even at speed, spacious interior and boot- I do like it a lot, but it's not perfect, here's my take-aways.
Brakes at low speed (example parking) are horribly noisy and grabby, enough to make people stop and think you've crashed/scratched it against another car or wall.
Self adjusting speed has a tendency to misread speed signs meaning the car thinks you've gone from a 60 to a 30 and brakes heavily to slow to the new speed, then when it realises it's a stil a 60mph limit will accelerate as quickly as it braked - fortunately, this hasn't happened with another car immediately behind me.
Rear view mirror sits too low down the windscreen and I can't understand why there's no holder in the roof for sunglasses - I really miss this.
I have to say that the storage space under the center console is a clever attempt, but in the real world is an utterly useless space, who uses it and what for? It's not easy to bend down/lean in and grab stuff from it. Implementing improvements for this would be 'simply clever'.
Same goes for the layout of center console, there's an opportunity to increase the size of the armrest and the storage for more convenience, important given that UK models have the fuse bow to thank for glove box that is compromised in size and practicality.
The phone holder angle is too steep, additionally plugging into the 2x USBC in that area is a faff and poorly positioned in relation to the phone itself.
Those cup holders are adjustable, meaning you can resize either the driver or passenger side for the larger flasks/Cups.
Full electric seat is fantastic - supportive and comfortable - the L&K misses a trick by not having an extendable seat end for those with longer legs and under seat storage trays.
The boot is massive, but the rear seats lean into the space at a very steep angle, meaning for a labrador sized dog there's a compromise in room (not unique to skoda, but consider that the Ioniq 5 has the best solution with adjustable rear seats).
Subwoofer from canton sound system ruins the under boot floor storage as does the not having the Variable boot floor fitted as standard to the highest spec model.
I write this because (even on this new model) the center console, glove box appear to be exactly the same and I suspect the boot will be too and we have the same software version so expect more of that.
Exterior of the 2025 model is very nice indeed, a bit Peugeot-like, but that's not a bad thing and I like the positioning of the grill and sensor suite.
Can you please re visit the Volkswagen ID4? I’ve heard it’s much better now.
What do the shifting paddles on the steering wheel do? It's the same on Audi and they seem to not have any function...
Adjust the level of regen breaking?
I know they are used for that on a few EVs, not sure about skoda
Brake regen settings
Correct, but most of the time it’s in auto mode and doesn’t do anything.
You can select 4 levels (0 to 3) of motor regen as you slow down the car. I typically use them when exit motorway or slow before traffic light.
For some reason in normal mode with small A next to D mode it's auto return so varies from coast to heavier regenerate approaching slower traffic queues or roundabouts etc. in sport mode the paddles are active. Frustratingly the driver mode (like lane assist etc) is forgotten after every drive. The car requires about 6 button press cockpit check before driving off 😂
Wonder what it costs to upgrade from a 2022 77kw to a new one ? Imagine its crazy.
Is the towing capacity still 1100kg?
Uness Xpeng P7+ or Xiaomi SU7 arrive in Europe and are easily available within the next year, I will be changing my current Enyaq 80 for one of these.
I was interested in getting the previous Enyaq (Sportline) however the waiting list was totally unacceptable at over 10 months. Who waits that long these days for a new car? I wonder what the wait time will be for this new version? In the end I chose a different manufacturer and had the car delivered in just over 2 weeks.
Yeah. I got lucky and only waited 3 months and it was worth the wait!
Which car did you get, 2 week wait is incredible
@@akubel33t It was a Tesla Model Y RWD Long Range.
@@MarkSmith-zc2yg ah I see! What type of economy do you get in winter at motorway speeds, I get 2.4-2.7. not great but I love keeping warm with the heating
3D printed cup holder extensions for large bottles may solve the problem there. I've seen them made for other EVs by members of their enthusiast communities.
Why did Skoda make such a big deal about bringing knobs back to the superb and kodiaq then not fit it to this? Everyone hates using climate through a screen
They use different electrical architecture. They fixed the steering wheel but other functions won’t integrate with the MEB architecture. No VW cars with an engine ride on the MEB architecture
Perhaps you should translate the miles to kilometers for non-uk watchers.
VAG likes lights down there, but haven't tested the desing much in winter.
I'm thinking of getting the 2024 model Enyaq with the new hardware but "old look", partly because of the headlights positioning. Plus the old model has headlight washers too, which the new one doesn't appear to have. Much better for our Nordic conditions... (Finland)
Oh look, it looks like a KIA now!
