I heard of a trucker went to the shipper to pick up a load, upon arriving the shipper tells them another courier just took it minutes ago. The trucker calls his dispatcher about the news. His dispatcher calls the shipper, and about 1 hour later the courier returned, was onloaded and product reloaded on the truckers trailer. Unbelievable!

the scam goes like this, they buy a owner operator out, One in good standing. After they have the Carrier authority. etc, they book a load with a broker. they then take said load and post in under the stolen broker account on dat, They get a good trucking company to accept said load. Then after good company runs the load, they send the paper work and the scammers get paid on the MC they purchased. by the time the fmcsa catches on, it's been 90 days and they have scammed millions. mean while good trucking companies are out the money for these loads.

Hackers dont hack places like DAT for fun or just to show they can. It's not the early 2000's my friend... These things are well thought out and well targeted, lets not forget Truckstop was hacked like a year or so ago and even before that... They had to pay a ransome to get their data back. Both these companies are gateways to billions in freight. They will never let the public know the real truths of these hacks. In fact, the government had better wake up to this fact. What would happen if dat and truckstop shut down tomorrow... what would that do the the freight economy?

I was thinking about just running in the state of Arizona for the mean time. I purchased the DAT app, and have called a few companies on the load board. they are all saying that 90 days is the minimum requirement in order to run their trailers. so at this point I was thinking about leasing my truck on with a company. would you possibly have any suggestions. Basically on everything I just sent. it would be greatly appreciated if you could guide me in a good direction if possible.
