As a driver, I can say Respect and transparency is the key to keep drivers
most of the time companies don’t stand on there commitments at the time of hiring and don’t care about there drives home time and force them to stay on the road longer for there own benefits
Driver Application should always be an intelliapp with Ten Street! If any has open trucks this is the best platform to fill trucks. I personally like Hire Right for back ground reports for what its worth
You are such an amazing teacher and talker. I spend hours everyday watching your videos. Without the things you teach I would be lost coming into this industry as a driver and one day a company owner operator. Thanks for the time you take away from your free time and family to teach my wife and i.
Alaska New Mexico and North Dakota abuse this w9, or 1099 horribly
Thank you Miranda. Excellent information.
Several things I’ve learned is that you will never stop learning. And humility. Respect too. Not only for your employer, but his or her equipment, fellow employees and your self. Complaining will get you no where except the unemployment line. And it doesn’t matter how much experience you have, if you run intrastate in Alaska, don’t expect to get an otr job in the lower 48, most companies won’t except it. There were a couple other things but I forgot lol
I remember, the worst thing you can do break or damage something and lie about it. Owners hate that probably more than rolling a truck. Honesty
I’ve seen guys damage something and lie and get fired, while another may roll a truck and get back in another one within a week at the same company. I’m overthinking all this. But I think when it comes to hiring someone, honesty respect and integrity play major roles, along with experience of course
The Truckers Report is the best!
I’ve been helping with office support for a company that has been in business for 6 months. We just made a bunch of mistakes trying to hire a new driver and the deal fell through. I plan to use your videos to help me help my team prevent these kinds of frustrating experiences. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I wasn’t able to connect all the dots that needed to be connected before I watched your video. Thank you for holding my hand and showing me the way!!!❤
Thank you for the information. Your last point on being humble was on point. I see why you are so successful ! 🔥🔥🔥
Very informative and touching. Sending greetings from China!
Miranda,
I just recently found your channel and I have to say that I am extremely impressed with your focus on the trucking industry. I am a 20-year sales veteran of the tractors and I have heard allot from drivers over the years mainly owner operators and I have to say that you are a God send to this industry. My curiosity about you is why did you want to enter into this industry at this time in your professional career and what is your background? I sense that you have a very strong advanced education, and you spent many years in the corporate world at an executive level. If I was a driver or owner operator, I would love to be a " team member" of yours. I can see in the near future when your reputation becomes more viral with thousands of followers that you will be approached by one of the top five carriers in the industry to offer you a very strong compensation package to have you on their team. I just started a new career in this industry with a truck customer of mine operating a freight brokerage as an agent and I love the challenges of this side of the table. Your videos are off the charts helpful so please keep the content fresh and coming. I am watching you only on RUclips because you are such a great instructor with real life visuals/ charts that click with me as to how the industry is performing. Your partners are very lucky to be on your team and they best be soaking up your knowledge like a sponge. I just can't comprehend you as to only having 3 years' experience in the industry. Wow!! You go girl!!
I really learned a lot from this video! Thank you a million times for this!
Great stuff Miranda, loved this recording, very detailed and crystal clear around hiring and retention. Thanks for sharing :)
Thank you so much , we really love and thank you investing in us your knowledge of this great industry which many try to hide .I promise you reward will be so much you wont have room to hold it you will have to give some away .
This was very informative! I just started with a company to do some part time work recruiting drivers for over the road, and I have no idea where to start. This is great information. The company is having a very tough time retaining OTR drivers. I don't know what the issue is, but I want to be able to investigate first to get to the root of the problem, then try a different approach. I would love to connect with you for additional insight. Thank you
It is a helpful and timely video 👍. I started watching all of your videos from the beginning. Thank you, Miranda
Amazing video thank you
Awesome outlook on this industry.
You are a good boss! just subscribe
Thank you! Since you pay by the odometer reading, have you run into problems where your driver went off course as in running personal errands or taking a different route?
Thats a great question! My ELD tracks routes so I can see everything lol but my team is extremely transparent. One of my guys will always call me to let me know if he is taking a longer route, either due to weather or a road closure, what not :) Im a lucky girl, got an awesome team!
@Trucking Made Successful that's awesome because I've heard horror stories! Haha
Would you be able to share any driver agreement templates please.
You're teaching cool I'm keep watching your videos
Great insights as usual Miranda, thanks ))
A Truly helpful video thanks for sharing this information.!! 💯
I watch all your videos. 💯
Thank you Miranda, You are awesome
This is a great video. I’m looking to get into a truck and trailer business after successfully running a box truck business, and my biggest concern is hiring the drivers. Do you offer one on one coaching for this? Even a 30 min call would help.
Thank you for your videos!!🙏
So question...if I own a truck and trailer, my own mc #, etc. I hire a driver as an independent contractor based on this business model;
1) Work when you want to.
2) take the loads you want to
3) fuel where you want to with my fuel card
4) take home time when you want to
5) drive safe and be responsible
6) hit monthly gross goal of $xxxxx
Could this be considered hiring a driver as an independent? I would not be supervising his day to day, telling him where to go, what loads to get etc. Provide the truck, trialer, fuel card, and access to 2 load boards..and say go get em tiger 🤷🏻♂️
Very helpful, thank you.
Receiving great value from your videos. Do you have a video regarding owner op putting other drivers on their trucks and using others authority pay salary and profit doing this?
Good evening. Srta, Miranda, Was splendid how you explain and talk about all the information, Since now I follow you. Do you have the Angel touch. thank you a lot and Happy new year.
Hi Miranda. Thanks for all your valuable content. Any chance I can purchase your driver agreement and onboarding system??
You are amazing 👏 🧿
Great video
good info, thx
How can one raise a complaint about trucking companies and drivers, falsifying their log book, manipulating their HOS to drive extra hours, assign a dummy co driver to transfer logs, exchange and transfer shifts amongst drivers of the company. Which department should I reach out to what can be the procedure?
I work for R & L but watching this video make be feel like I’m at the wrong company 🤣🤣
Would you find areas like trucker report do a better job at hiring drivers compared to running basic google/indeed ads?
Thanks!
Thanks! :)
Most of my friends who have been trucking for more than 15 years are down with Kidney failure.
The current Hours of service mandates are making it worse because they are making you drive for 11 hours almost straight , which is very bad for Kidneys and lever.
FMCSA is controlled by the American Trucking Association , run by Rich corporations.
Their objective is only better utilization of their equipment.
These big carriers have their own insurance , so Accidents don"t effect their expenses.
The whole game is rigged in their favor. American Trucking Association is run by Rich corporations.

Hello do you analyze the container drayage sector as well?
Unfortunately not at this time, but something I will definitely look into!
Hi Miranda odd question on the video showing what your driver equipment has you have auto socks do the law allow you to carry only auto socks or do you still carry chains with the auto socks
Autosocks are legal in every state and can be used instead of chains. We only carry autosocks and in the 3 + years have had no issues :)
@@TruckingMadeSuccessful ok thank you for the update
Are you hiring??
Just discovered your channel.
If you reply here, great….if not, I will search your contact info.
I’m presently over 5 years with a major carrier. Sometimes it’s just accepting “the devil you know”, but sometimes you’ve got to run from him!!
Hi Michael. We are not hiring at the moment but once we have an opening, I will make an announcement on this channel. Please dont hesitate to still shoot me an email at talkabouttrucking@gmail.com

En que estado vives? Trabajo en una compania y estamos contratando cdl a drivers en el estado de CT
Wow 😮 ... im a 8 yr driver ... if ur hiring , im interested
Send me an email :) talkabouttrucking@gmail.com - ill send you an application
I want to know what you think about the current rates right now lol
Good question. Rates by themselves are bad but not horrid. The issue is that they dont keep up with the current expenses that drivers have to deal with, so the net is getting eroded!
What software are you using for deduction of taxes.
She said in a previous video she uses ADP payroll services for all that.
I could use some help with a trucking job respond 👇🏽
Do you pay your drivers per diem?
Yes we do per diem as an option but we dont force it
@TruckingMadeSuccessful
So generally speaking you would pay your drivers a certain rate per mile or they can choose a lower rate and get per diem?
W9 landstar hmmmm🤔
You can have $3 million worth of Freight,
but if you have no qualified Drivers,
You have nothing.....
Believe me.....
Whats going on in the comments ??-
I don't know, seems like nobody sees my comments at all ))
Your bumber
Great video. Thanks
Hi Miranda, why do you say truck drivers are underappreciated! Salary is the main determinator and they get paid well in the US. Unless the pay is much higher in other countries.
I can't speak for others but using myself as an example- if I was paid above average but treated like dirt, I would leave. Unfortunately many drivers..actually the majority of company drivers are treated with contempt, lied to, and taken advantage of.
Think it would be easY for you to find drivers. You got a channel of them
Merry Xmas, thank you for you information and these videos 🙏🏽
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! 🎊🎆
Happy holidays!
❤❤❤
But I thought you said you will lose money doing that.😒 (I'm still getting a truck)
It was a requested video but I still believe that to make money in this market, you have to drive for yourself, not delegate the whole scope of running a trucking company to others.
