It was their way of letting Maurice LaMarche(Brain, Orsen Welles from the Critic)give his own performance, while also paying tribute to Michael Ansara. The original voice from Batman: The Animated Series. That's how his voice sounded, withOUT the modulation. He was so damn talented, as is Maurice LaMarche.
Mr Freeze was always one of my favourite Batrman villains, if not THE favourite. His tragic backstory, that cold attitude and fact that we the audience never saw him as an outright villain. He was definitely the most morally ambiguous of the villains he's had in recent years, especially since the 90's cartoon. This game really does that character justice and the fact that he's not a cliche evil-doer and maintains that tragic nature shows how much people today still regard the character well.
I just want to say something that's sounds incredible, so I played the Batman's series game in true sequence: Arkham origins, Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. Trust me if you play the game that way, you will understand everything about Batman game
I love how Freeze powering up the suit parallels Bruce Wayne putting on the cape and cowl. The transformation from a person into an ideal. It's powerful stuff.
Mr. Freeze has never looked, acted, or even sounded better. I adore the "or you...will...DIE!" line. It's so creepy, cold (NO pun intended) and just. . .the essence of badass!
"Have you ever seen a flower die? Watched something that was once so beautiful, so full of life, collapse and rot from within?" I LOVE this line. It makes me sort of sympathetic for Freeze. He just wants to see his wifes face again.
See, THIS is Mr. Freeze, people. So much potential has been in this character for so long, and I'm glad to see him finally be portrayed as a worth-while character.
I not only love how Batman says "This is not a time for negotiation", but also the way he looks when he says it. Something about the lip synching in the cinematics of this game it makes the characters look incredible while they're saying their lines. Oh and Mr. Freeze's voice while in his suit is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
holy fudge wads! This mr. freeze has to be the most epic version ever! I love how his voice changes when he puts his helmet down. Is anyone else as pumped for this game as I am? I heard that in this game you get to choose which villains you get to beat up, and Mr. Freeze will be the second on my list! (First is The Riddler. He is my favorite)
I never thought I would like Mr Freeze but he's one of the best things in Arkham City. Great trailer but should have included the "Death is cold" line at the end, with that cool helmet voice of his.
This is the coolest Mr. Freeze. He also got a fair amount of time in comparison to say like Deadshot, Solomon Grundy, and Hush. Either way, my favorite boss fight of the game, and this trailer makes it look epic.
honestly freeze is my favorite villain from batman because he isnt really crazy.. he just wants something that was dear to his heart but had to go down a bad path to get to it
@SuperMicklovin they explained that. It's because Arkham is more equipped to deal with special cased like Freeze. He has to have certain criteria met to be able to survive and Arkham is more capable of providing that for him then at black gate. I don't know why that would be, but thats how they explain it.
I never liked or cared much for Mr. Freeze except for "The Batman", his portrayal in that being my absolute favorite until this trailer. Arkham City made him one of my all-time favorite Batman villains, and his boss fight is undoubtably one of the greatest in gaming history.
One of the "coolest" villians of Batman and in the game. When I first played this, I could not get past this boss fight no matter how many times I tried. I enjoy it more now!
Mr.Freeze is so feaking badass. He is not out to destroy the world like any other villain,he is out to save his very own wife.Which is the reason why many people like him.
@DrknssRules1 In Batman Beyond it explored that concept, he was treated and given a proper body and he turned out to be a great guy. Sadly the body started to decay and he relapsed and went back to the suit. In the non-canon Batman: SubZero movie he ended up fine without the suit and his wife recovered completely, but he wisely decided not to have anything to do with her life after everything he had done and what he had become. I think the animated universe is the best place for Batman stories.
@AwakeningEden I agree on that. If Batman offered to assist in his research, I'm pretty sure that it would be the only thing needed for Freeze to turn good and help him in the future
@AwakeningEden Batman calls most of his Gotham based enemies by their first name. Basically because he has a more personal relationship with his enemies than other DC universe wide enemies. You'll see him call Riddler - Edward, Two-Face - Harvey, Penguin - Cobblepot. He usually calls them by their villain name when he is pissed.
When he says "today is not a good day to push me" I get the chills. This is true Batman, gruff and tough. Kevin Conroy is not a great voice actor for Batman, he IS the voice actor for Batman.
This is definitely the best boss in the game! I loved fighting against him in new game plus because there were tons of ways to hurt him I didn't even know about!
Probably best version of freeze ever
I prefer Michael Ansara but this is a close second
Incredible dialogue
I just adore how creepy and soulless Freeze's voice sounds as soon as his helmet is activated. That shot at 0:45 gets me every time
You could say it gives you..............CHILLS
@@horseradish877 Cool party

The boss fight against Freeze was the most enjoyable part of the game for me.
For me Is the best fight from game Batman Arkham
"Boss fight of the year"
I'm calling it.
You called it pretty well tbh
10 years later u were right one of the best boss fights in all of arkham series
Still the boss fight of all time for as far as I know
the mask closing over his face while he says "or you will die" just gave me chills
"You are in my world now Bat-man"
"You will bring me Nora or you...will...DIE"
Two awsome lines!!!
It was amazing how his voice changed when his helmet closed.
" You will bring me Nora or you.... Will.... DIE!". 0.o
“You are in my world now Batman” next level dialogue
Possibly one of the most chilling trailers of all time. I would love to see Mr. Freeze on the big screen done some justice.
For sure and that needs to happen!
Time flies man. Even gametrailers was still around back then
Mr. freeze would make a very good big daddy.
I love Mr. Freeze's voice in this game: he sounds menacing and badass, AND we can still understand him!
Maurice LaMarche in one of the best voice roles of his career: Mr. Freeze
I remember watching this back in high school, this game is a part of history !
the most dificult boss battle in the entire series
victor furtado na I still think poison ivy is harder.. those annoying vines
Electrocutioner deserves that spot
Deathstroke: am I a joke to you?
Only in NG+
Deathstroke was hardest. Ra's was harder. Loads were harder. Freeze was easy but really really fun
Next to the original this is the best version of mr freeze
best batman villain ever
Have you ever seen a flower die, watched something that was so beautiful,so full of life, collapse, and rot from within.
Arkham city: strategically beat him using stealth and gadgets
Gotham knights: just beat the shit out of him
I love Mr. Freeze's voice when he has the helmet on.
Does anyone know how they achieved the in-helmet voice for Mr.Freeze?
Editing most likely
It's a studio..? Sound FX and editing
Even after all these years this game still gives me the...chills
God how the fuck is this the version in a video game and Arnold the version in a movie?!
Ironies of life my friend
Hollywood = Poop for quick cash
Videogame = AWESOMENESS ! for cash

I just realized Mr. Freeze never used that shield whenever you rushed him. Does he only bring it up if you charge at him frontview?
It generates I think after you perform a stealth takedown.
AWESOME! Mr.Freeze is my favorite villain in batman history and their finally bringing him back!!!
Really sad they didn't put them in Arkham Knight :( that's why I'm mostly hate Arkham Knight it also arkum city of my favorites
They actually did put in mr.freeze in a dlc.
+king elijah, yeah but it was the shortest dlc
King Elijah that DLC was cool but the stupid tanks shit really sucked .. the ice track was coool though
At first I was thinking, "Aw... I was expecting Mr. Freeze's voice to be more robotic-like;" but then, at around 0:45, I was "ALRIGHT!"
Reason Arkham Knight wasn't as good is cause no paul dini
"You are on my world now Batman" this give me chills
I never had a problem with Mr. Freeze before, but this game elevated him to new leagues of respect in my eyes.
LOVED the Freeze fight! One of my favorite boss battles in a long time. I love the way you can't use the same tactic twice.
I love his voice~
Mr. Freeze has never looked, acted, or even sounded better. I adore the "or you...will...DIE!" line. It's so creepy, cold (NO pun intended) and just. . .the essence of badass!

I LOVE this line. It makes me sort of sympathetic for Freeze. He just wants to see his wifes face again.
Pretty cool how his voice changes when he's in the suit
"you will bring me Nora, or you, will, DIE!" best mr freeze line ever
Still one of the best game trailers of all time
See, THIS is Mr. Freeze, people. So much potential has been in this character for so long, and I'm glad to see him finally be portrayed as a worth-while character.
Epic voice of Mr. Freeze, and best part it's when he says:
-You will bring me Nora, or you will die.
0:40
Easily one of the best Batman villains.
Unlike any other villain, Victor only fights for Nora.
Gotta respect that
"you will bring me Nora,or you..will..DIE!" -Dr Victor Fries
The trailer feels like a movie. I freakin' love it.
Freeze's voice gives me chills (pun intended)!
Back then his fight was hard now today its mad easy
Mr. Freeze is in my opinion the only villain you can really feel sorry for and understand what drove him to this.
man i love Mr.Freez the most of the villians and then joker ofc, cant wait 8 more days now!!!
"or you...will... DIE" favorite line
Always get chills whenever Mr. Freeze says Batman!
I don`t know but this was one of the scariest boss fights ever the way he walk, His voice, The music and the feeling that your traped, It`s awesome
the best part was when his goggles/glasses turned red... just like in batman: the animated series. Mr. Freeze is awesome
You made a true statement and did not ask for a thumbs up. So your reward is a thumbs up!
The definitive Mr. Freeze, a pure cold-blooded man (no pun intended believe me), with a voice that puts any other mechanical voiced villian to shame
holy fudge wads! This mr. freeze has to be the most epic version ever! I love how his voice changes when he puts his helmet down. Is anyone else as pumped for this game as I am? I heard that in this game you get to choose which villains you get to beat up, and Mr. Freeze will be the second on my list! (First is The Riddler. He is my favorite)
This was my favorite boss fight in Arkham City
Damn I love this black and white art style they have going. Its so pretty.
@ProGamesAndMusic I KNOW! I've beaten this game 5 times and these trailers still get my heart racing which makes me want to do the story again!!
I don't know why, but I always get the chills (no pun intended) whenever Mr. Freezes as batm
"You are in my world now, Batman!" I think he stole that line from Scarecrow in Arkham Asylum.
Now THIS is Mr. Freeze! No ice puns just pure badassery!
I never thought I would like Mr Freeze but he's one of the best things in Arkham City. Great trailer but should have included the "Death is cold" line at the end, with that cool helmet voice of his.
Arkham City is a masterpiece, a work of art.
i can't wait till Christmas for this.
This is the coolest Mr. Freeze. He also got a fair amount of time in comparison to say like Deadshot, Solomon Grundy, and Hush. Either way, my favorite boss fight of the game, and this trailer makes it look epic.

"Hey Brain, what are we gonna do tonight?"
"Same thing we do every night Pinky. Try to take over the world!"
Mr. Freeze...such a cold methodical super genius locking horns with tragedy. Always liked Victor Freeze a lot.
i LOOVE rockestady so much since the release date is on my b-day!!! Best b-day gift EVER
One of the "coolest" villians of Batman and in the game. When I first played this, I could not get past this boss fight no matter how many times I tried. I enjoy it more now!
the reason im watching these batman videos is because.............ITS COMING OUT NEXT MONTH WOOOOOOOOO
I love Batman and Mr. Freeze was such a well developed villain (well, after the animated series at least). I have faith they will do him justice :)
You are in my world now, Batman.
Mr.Freeze is so feaking badass. He is not out to destroy the world like any other villain,he is out to save his very own wife.Which is the reason why many people like him.
The way Mr.Freeze talks in this trailer makes him come across as *shades* Cold hearted
I *LOVE* freeze's voice. it sounds very close to the 90s mr. freeze from the animated series.
his voice behind the helmet is so awesome
i love how batman calls him victor thats just epic
Mr. Freeze: "Remember - there may be some momentary discomfort."
Freeze is freaking awesome. One of my favorite villains along with Bane and Joker.
Freeze is probably the only batman villian I actually feel remorse for.
@DrknssRules1 In Batman Beyond it explored that concept, he was treated and given a proper body and he turned out to be a great guy. Sadly the body started to decay and he relapsed and went back to the suit. I think the animated universe is the best place for Batman stories.
The trailer gave me "chills," I'm set for October
Finally, an appearance of Mr. Freeze without any puns!
Dr.Fries is and was badass when i fought him on new game plus super hard difficulty hes really scary it actually gives you.......chills
@AwakeningEden I agree on that. If Batman offered to assist in his research, I'm pretty sure that it would be the only thing needed for Freeze to turn good and help him in the future
Just placed my pre-order today. Can't. Wait.
This game is going to be so bad ass, it is a game of the year candidate for sure
@AwakeningEden Batman calls most of his Gotham based enemies by their first name. Basically because he has a more personal relationship with his enemies than other DC universe wide enemies. You'll see him call Riddler - Edward, Two-Face - Harvey, Penguin - Cobblepot.
He usually calls them by their villain name when he is pissed.
wow I think this is the first time I've ever thought Mr. Freeze was intimidating
Freezes monologue is about Nora, but can also refer to himself. Once a happily married man, now a corrupted freak. What a tragic character
Man, I love the freeze armor in this game!
