My parents fostered a child when I went off to college. He was a 7year old little boy at the time and had scars all on his back from being whipped, a scar on his leg from make shift “stitches” (needle and thread) from someone at a home before us, and also a terrible phobia of beans(since that was what he was made to eat ALL the time) all while being locked in a room most days. He had so much trauma! My parents loved him so much, gave him his own room full of toys, electronics, new clothes and shoes. We took him on family trips, he played sports and everything! When I tell you my mothers worked hard to figure out the people who had harmed him before they got him, she raised hell about it and even tried them in court…well needless to say NOTHING was done and NOBODY ever paid for anything they did to him. We would run into those people around town and he would scared/point them out to us sometimes! These children in the system dont stand a chance, the system is the problem most times they don’t care where they send them to! They overlook stuff purposely so they don’t have to do paperwork or be at fault. It’s disgusting to me!!! My parents was too old to keep up with a 7yr old at the time but still kept him until he was around 9 and adopted by family friends!! He is now 18 , in the Air Force , and the most handsome boy ever! He turned out to be so wonderful do to all of us loving him and treating him like our own. He still calls my mom and dad to check on them and they do too with him.
Beautiful people!!! This makes me want to foster but with 7 kids of my own and no spare rooms it's not possible. If only there were more kind hearted amazing humans!
@@griseldamiller174no they didn’t find her body but the step mother finally admitted that her father beat her to death. The details are horrific 😢 Poor Harmony
Poor girl didn't have a chance from the jump. How and why the judge awarded her father custody with this criminal record is crazy! Criminal records should absolutely be considered when custody is being requested.
My ex husband has been arrested 13 times for domestic violence and yet the judge gave him custody of his son, that was 7, that he had never even met nor wanted because his sons mother got a traffic violation. She didn't have a proper carseat, she was using a booster seat and that was enough to remove him from his mother and placed with a psychotic wife beater. Thr ticket was eventually dropped because the booster was proper seating and entirely within the requirements. My ex husband wanted custody because he was tired of paying $2,500 a month in child support. Since he had the bigger bank account its like they didnt even care that he had been arrested 13 times for beating 3 different women, he had 2 dui's and 2 dwi's, hed totalled 14 cars in 15 years, he was court ordered into the military afer vandalizing a judges house when he was a teen, hed been arrested for breaking into storage buildings and stealing thousands worth of items, he had a wrap sheet 20xs longer than her traffic ticket but he was wealthier, had an honorable discharge from the Navy so the male judge chose him... its absolutely fcking vile. He has no business raising that poor boy... breaks my heart...
Makes one wonder about them in their personal life right? I mean, we see red flags all over the place, but do these judges see all they did as a good thing because they do it too? And just get away with it?
I’m a recovering addict and when my first child was born , even my twins i still battled with addiction. But my parents were taken care of my kids so In my mind “they were ok” but when I had my second set of twins and they were taken by child services, that was the worse day of my life and I did everything in my power to get my kids back. I’ve now got almost 7 years clean and have all 5’kids home with me .
Bless you! I had my own journey of recovery but never lost my children. Then my poor daughter has lost all 3 of her children. The clock is ticking on her last before she looses him forever. Not only is she an addict but she suffers with severe mental illness that makes it harder to face the truth. She's so intelligent and kind when she's sober but she is a shell of a human being.
I worked with the kids of addicts in recovery, to keep families together when possible, to connect to community services, and to prevent abuse. Working with the kids helped see they cracks that might be missed elsewhere and allowed me to connect with the parents. Greatest rewards were sent an a drug addicted newborn comeback 7 months later with mom clean, baby healthy and parents together/employed. Childcare with grandma and baby meeting milestones. Keep going! It works and is so worth it 💪🏽⭐️💐
Hey! I'm a former criminal defense attorney. I really like your videos but there's one thing I'd like to clarify: When someone who is obviously guilty pleads "not guilty" to a crime at their initial appearance, it's not because they don't know there's a mountain of evidence against them, it's because the attorney assisting the accused can't ethically advise them to plead guilty on such short notice. At these initial appearances clients 99/100 times won't have an attorney representing them until that hearing. It's also the first time they'll hear which statutes they're actually being charged under, and many of them have multiple elements that aren't obvious based on the name of the crime. I have had clients attempt to plead guilty at arraignment only for the judge to tell them that they are unable to take a change of plea until they have had adequate time to discuss the case and evidence with their attorney. Someone pleading "not guilty" at arraignment isn't an indication that they don't know they're entirely screwed, but rather a quirk of the legal system and the way we effectuate Constitutional rights. Anyway, love your videos! Keep up the amazing work!
Thank you! I love when professionals can add even more knowledge to Stephanie's amazing videos, especially when I can use it to point out bloopers in tv shows how 😊
@@susantaulli730 I don't understand why people plead "no contest" when it's basically saying "I'm guilty" without saying the words, which makes zero sense to me.
Triple Stephanie in 24 hours?! I feel so spoiled!!! Crime Weekly, Mile Higher, AND Coffee and Crime?! You are incredible!!! Thank you for all you do!!!
My wife had been sold as a baby for money used for drugs. Luckily, it was to her dad's sister. Her aunt took her to get her out of the bad living conditions she was in. She is alive because of this woman and I am forever grateful that someone cared enough to do something, even if it was an illegal act to trade money for a child. Afterward, DCF got involved and she was placed with her loving grandparents.
That is crazy. I'm so sorry that happened to her but I am so glad she had her aunt and grandparents. Feel free to not answer but her aunt didn't get in trouble, right? Just curious since she ended up being raised by her grandparents.
We have a similar story like that on my Dad's side. I had no idea he wasn't just adopted but that he was adopted from someone else in our family. To be fair, this couple couldn't have children so it worked out, I just never knew they adopted him from WITHIN the family. Either way it's my Dad's cousin so they all grew up together, which was nice for them.
@@J_e_s_s No, thankfully the aunt didn't get in trouble. She was the one to call authorities and initiate the change of custody to her grandparents so I believe the money thing was swept under the rug.
I watch a lot of True Crime so I’m pretty used to hearing about these stories, but as soon as I saw this little girls face, I almost cried. There’s something about her. She just looks like such a sweet girl who wanted to be cared about and had so much love to give. This story is very heartbreaking for me.
this is appauliing , alot of agencies have failed this little girl , I honestly don't know how these judges live with themselves , I'm from Canada where it's far from perfect but I've seen waaaaaay too many failed DCF cases fail children, it would seem that skipping from one state to another seems to be one avenue for these children to fall through the cracks .
@@StephanieHarlowe Thank you for all you do for the kids, Stephanie. It's got to be so hard. Im right there there you when you speak to the people who failed and harmed these children. This case pushes me even more to become an adoptive foster mother, and I will try to get sibling groups.
@@wannyfairy7993 I cried too 😭 Every time I see a picture of Harmony my eyes drift away because I feel the tears coming on. My first response is that I want to jump up to protect her, but I can't & that kills me.
I cannot even get my head around how she was taken from her mother because of her mothers drug issues but placed with her father who himself has a recorded history of drugs AND violence! That poor girl was absolutely failed!
I remember a volunteer for our group therapy told us stories of being a CPS worker. She showed up once and the dad had his son tied to a tree and was shooting him with a bee bee gun because he had an accident in the bed -- he was he was so young he was still being potty trained. I asked her how she could stand that job; how she didn't beat the s*** out of the dad and just drive away cradling the little boy. She said because she would be fired for assault and kidnaping, and someone had to help these children, so she had to set her emotions aside and do it by the book -- which in this case was emergency rehoming of all children in the house, but it's even worse when judges or the system won't help as much as they should. She was dying of cancer and when she became too weak to work for CPS in the field she led group therapy for women who were homeless, mentally ill or drug addicted, to teach them about birth control and to be better parents. God bless her heart.
Jesus I can't stop crying. I'm sitting here watching this as I eat my breakfast and as I'm waiting on my own child to wake up and come eat her pancakes and sausage I made her and I can't process how someone sells or kills their child. I would be lost without my child. I wouldn't know how to breathe or function. I pray things get better for these poor babies...😭💔 Children are not disposable.
So sad to hear that the couple who adopted Harmony's brother also wanted to adopt Harmony. This story could have had a happy ending with both siblings together in a loving home. That really broke my heart to hear 😢
I know. I have a sickening feeling that the judge thought it was better for a child to be given to an abusive addict father rather than a loving gay couple. You never know how much of a judge's decision is influenced by their own personal politics/beliefs.
@@RowanWarren78 kinda makes me wonder if the judge and lawyer and all involved are into sex trafficking and sadly could be where she is. To even remotely think that that could be a possibility makes me sick to my stomach, but I’m not so sure it’s out of the realm of possibility.
I think Adam killed Harmony. I don’t think he sold her. :-( Child Protective Services and the courts totally failed this child. A drug-addicted violent felon was given custody, and multiple reports of abuse were ignored. Poor little girl.
I agree 😔. May have been accidental due to him being drugged or maybe not. I also thought she may have been left out of the car when they got evicted and maybe died from hypothermia since this was during the winter months. Idk but listening to this case just broke my heart.
I unfortunately agree. Once they were evicted, I'm sure stress was really high and they were in a confined space. He was already known to be violent and I think he snapped.
Unfortunately, I do too. I feel like the girlfriend or Adam would’ve slipped up by now and said who he sold her to or traded her for drugs or whatever the case may be but the silence tells me that they’re hiding something even worse. (At least in my mind.) CPS (it’s called DSS-Department of Social Services where I live) totally dropped the ball on this precious little girl and it’s ridiculous that they have ZERO consequences to pay. Had they just done their job correctly, the first time, this sweet baby would probably still be here today.
Hard to tell. Rationally, he would gain more from selling her, but if a violent person does something out of rage, there is no rational thinking involved.
This case makes me so flipping angry. Let's be dead serious. The ONLY person on the planet that had any love in his heart and soul for this little girl was her BROTHER. that poor little guy knew nobody loved her like he did. She was his everything and that's why he was talking about her so much. If he didn't want her so badly, nobody may even know to this day that she was even missing. This case has me so angry, I don't think I even like her state. 😭 I've never been so mad over a case for real.
Her mother cleaned her act up and was trying to get her ack the entire time. Yes her baby brother loved her very much I don’t doubt but her mother also loved very much.
I agree, it broke my heart to hear was constantly talking about her, thinking he saw her, that is so sad. It breaks my heart even more that he never got to have his sister back with him. I will never understand how people can treat children with anything other than love.
I'm glad my children weren't near when I was listening with my ear buds..the tears were uncontrollable. Little did I know how much worse Crystal's story got.
I'm in recovery 10 years now I'm a drug counselor and I work in the field of addiction with youth & adults. I feel for Harmony the most but I also feel for the bio mom. She got herself together and searched for her daughter and I totally believe her when she says she was ignored. Thats our system and its a broken system.
@@speaktruth9313 the addiction causes the lying, to get the drugs. It’s always anything to get those drugs so you don’t feel that sickness. Once you RECOVER, you don’t lie like you did in active addiction. To label all recovered addicts as liars just because they used to be addicts is not ok, what makes you think that’s ok? You go through counseling, you unlearn those behaviors you learn better/healthier coping skills etc! Yes, maybe some recovered addicts still lie, but that more than likely has nothing to do with their addiction, they are just liars period. But to label all recovered addicts as liars just because they used to be addicts is so cruel. Think before you speak. Think about if it’s kind and helpful and loving, if not, just keep quiet maybe? I mean isn’t there enough meanness and hatred in this world already? It’s easy and totally free to be kind ya know 😉
@@goranbreskic4304 I deleted my comment because there is so much to be said that what gets said gets misconstrued . I am thankful for those who have recovered from drug addiction . You must still understand just because they have recovered does not mean the immediate family that has traveled shoulder to shoulder doesn’t forget how the drug addiction pattern started . A recovered drug addict is always the same as a recovered alcoholic. The wife forgives but doesn’t forget. A recovered addict needs always in recovery ,to respect those who have been on the journey. It isn’t all about them . They have some serious payback to those they stole from, lied to, manipulated etc etc. So assuming they no longer lie or manipulate is not helping . Like I said explaining this becomes a deep rabbit hole and gets misunderstood cause there is a lot that has happened.
@@jessicawilson4655 I spoke as a person close to family of recovered addicts. The drugs did not start the person to be a ‘liar’. Lying was a pattern before the drugs.I have seen drug addicts dominate the family and be the ones bitter and mean . Why when a family expresses the hurt of what they have done not be allowed to express it. It is part of the silencing of the family that has suffered to. So reminding a recovered drug addict of bills , house damage and ruined marriages etc, etc is not being mean to the recovered addict. It is what it is and the addict still is not all done with their work just cause they aren’t using.
PROTECT THIS WOMAN AT ALL COSTS! Stephanie ripping apart the governor has me snapping my fingers in agreement. The question is not rhetorical-- WHAT WAS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE PEOPLE WHO CANNOT PROTECT THEMSELVES?! Thank you for your voice and clear assessment of these cases. There is a lack of resources spent for our most vulnerable population: the children! The blame game is unnecessary, trying to preserve adult egos is unimportant.. Let's help the children FIRST and worry about all the other crap later!
EXCEPT she was wrong. NH has no state taxes. State taxes usually fund social programs, including child protection programs. So, the money didn't go somewhere else, it was not there to begin with.
@@untroubledwaters2137 NH resident here - while you’re correct that NH has no state income tax or sales taxes, there are still plenty of income streams - tax on tobacco, food and drink tax, and mostly our INSANE property taxes and registration fees. For example, my property taxes on a 1500sqft home are $5600 per year, and I pay ~800 a year to register my cars. On top of this, Sununu has vetoed recreational marijuana several times, shooting down a potentially billion dollar tax revenue stream. NHs schools, prisons, DCYF, and hospitals are all falling apart, and Sununu actively ignores the issue while pushing money into building million dollar state liquor stores along the Mass border. He probably reallocated the money to the 3.2 MILLION dollar marketing plan to attract corrections officers to our prisons (which by the way, did not work. The prisons gained a SINGLE staff member between all 3 facilities.)
What is more important? The federal gov just gave $40bn + to "another country" whilst refusing to give to its own people. All these uniparty lizard people don't give a shit about the average tax payer. They just want them to hand their "taxes" over so they can launder it for whatever they want. Until people understand this and stop seeing it as a partisan or political issue, nothing will ever be achieved.
@@mikaylaveilleux8019 yeah people always claim that states without income taxes have no taxes. NOT! There are plenty of ways to tax people without income tax as you just pointed out.
My 16 year old drug addicted mother tried to sell me at 6 months old. I was taken to another state. A friend of the person who had me contacted police and my grandfather and his wife went and got me. They were given custody and later adopted me. I was extremely lucky. I hope this litter girl is eventually found. I have a bad feeling about it though. I think the father probably killed her. Since it's clear he was abusive. But I hope that I'm wrong and that she is still alive out there somewhere.
Sadly I think the same thing 😕 😔 this man is already violent add drugs and it makes it even worse. I do believe adam killed her, maybe not on purpose but he did and that's why he refuses to talk. I mean if he kept baby girl to spite the mom then I don't think he would intentionally kill her or sell her otherwise he would have nothing to hang over the mom's head. I don't get how the couple wasn't told Jameson had a older sister before adopting him and why the judge would give adam custody with the record he has. I feel there was bribery or the judge has no brain or common sense to make serious decisions like this As a mother myself I would never hit my child for any reason and I think that's why baby girl covered her brother's mouth from crying because she knew she would get beaten regardless of why the brother was crying 😢 😪 its terrible for all these children that have to go through this because their killed, traumatized, or Sadly end up repeating the same cycle on their children 😢 😔
Yours is an astounding story and I'm so glad you are here to tell it. Sounds like your grandparents are wonderful people. Thank God that the friend of the person who bought you didn't have the same moral compass and acted on it. 🙏
The love that you have for every victim whose story you breathe life into is so inspiring. We end up loving them all just as much, which is a testament to what an incredible journalist you are Stephanie 🖤
All else aside, literally forgetting everything else, can we all not agree that someone who shoots someone else in the face should never get or be allowed custody of any children? Unless it was proven self defense. He was CONVICTED. Forgetting the shooting, he had multiple other convictions for other serious violent crimes against young women and minors who were often in powerless situations. The bar isn't even on the floor it's so low it's in the core of the Earth... If you're going to give her to an active drug addict with a plethora of criminal convictions Crystal looks like a saint even if she wasn't sober. Why not give her mom custody if they couldn't care less?
It's shocking the people that are allowed to be within ten miles of a kid. Not to mention all the foster family, adoption, etc stuff always seems to take the kid into consideration last and instead drags children around and dumps them on the whims of adults. Someone who has EVER done any violence to a child should not be left in charge of that child. Children, for some reason, get treated as non-persons by the law. So much neglect and abuse happens to children and they're just given back to the abusers, the type of things no one would ever find acceptable for themselves. It's cold and heartless.
@@emeryltekutsu4357 I agree. I understand wanting to keep biological families together if possible but we've already proven that adopted kids do just fine with good parents. The kids have a right to a healthy safe life, the parents don't have the right to be a parent. But the courts end up enforcing it the other way
He shouldn't have been an option he should have still been locked up. Not that prison is much punishment (I'm a bit blood thirsty) punishment should fit the crime. We are too soft on those that don't deserve softness.

Oh my God Stephanie!!! My heart is racing. Goosebumps and tears in my eyes. I wish that these people could all hear your words and realize these problems. Thank you for standing up for these children!!!
I was a homeless, bad drug addict when I was 17 but the moment I found out I was pregnant I went to my local hospital and asked for help and they did, I am now 37 with 4 kids and have been clean ever since. I don’t drink or take any drugs and haven’t since I was 17 and I still see my local drug and alcohol program. I just can’t understand how having a child doesn’t change some addicts. It changed me the moment I knew I was carrying a baby.
Well done! That's amazing. I'm glad I got clean before I became a mother. It's been 7 years and I've never slipped up once. I can see how it would be difficult to maintain, or difficult to utilize resources. It's a crushing disease, and ifs heartbreaking when innocent children are forced to be involved in it. Again, congrats and well done!

I feel sorry for her mother because she was suffering from a drug addiction, she at least admitted to having failed her daughter and showing remorse for it, and she got clean and sober and she’s trying really hard now and that second chance at doing better and being better has been taken from her.
Too little, too late! Get off the dope when you get pregnant! I was a pill head for TEN years, I quit when I got pregnant. No excuses. She should be rendered infertile.
We all make mistakes especially dealing with unhealed pain. She definitely deserves to forgive herself and shaming others does nothing to help heal the community issue that is addiction
I agree I hope she forgives herself because she has grown from this lesson and the past cannot be changed. At least she has gotten clean, which many never do.
As of June 22, 2023 an affidavit states that Harmony’s father killed her after she wet herself in their car. He hit her 3 or 4 times, she died. He proceeded to place her body in a duffel bag and carried her corpse with them for months when they moved around while they were homeless. I’m absolutely horrified and devastated that that’s the way her short life ended. I wish she could have been loved and cherished instead of abused and thrown away like garbage. Rest in peace Harmony. ❤
I had the unfortunate time knowing Adam , He is an absolute nightmare of a person. If their is one person I’ve known in my life that deserves to go to hell it’s him . He has serious anger/drug abuse problems. I live in the Boston area & he was nothing but a junkie who would do anything for his dope. I absolutely think he did something to poor Harmony. It breaks my heart & like you said it’s a very hard case to hear about. I have had to call dcf in Massachusetts before they don’t care at all & I stand by this. Adam was NEVER a drug dealer giving him to much credit here “ news stations” . Just a jobless bum who leached off of & hurt anyone he could to get what he wants. Thank you for covering this I really hope if anything Massachusetts/NH dcf can have people who actually care!! & get paid right for their difficult job! Harmony needs justice❤️

Thank you for covering Harmony's case. I'm from northern MA and was living in Lowell, and seeing the billboards with her name and face on them are so heartbreaking. It has boggled everyone's minds how she has been missing since 2019. I hope these bureaucrats are held accountable for their unethical practices and that Harmony is found safe.
the fact that this was allowed to escalate like this…. I can’t imagine how anyone could “punish” children like that… at that point you are no longer a parent, just some savage destroying an innocent human. Every bit of me dies a little hearing about these cases but it’s necessary for everyone to be educated on this and not go through life thinking these things never or rarely happen.
I pray that Harmony is alive and well, being treated like a princess somewhere. Or that she's not suffering, however that may be. People can be so horrible to children and I wish she was with her brother, or hope she can be someday soon.
I listen to true crime constantly but this one really got me in tears. I love how passionate you get when you talk about all the people that let this poor sweet innocent child down. The system is so broken and needs more people like you advocating and making it known.
Nothing breaks a mother's heart like this type of story. It happens time and again and no matter how many times it doesn't get any easier. These poor kids born into families with no love to give. 💔 I will never understand how parents can bring a child into the world and not love them with everything they have.
Exactly. I literally want to spend every waking minute with my daughter and on the two days I do work..I can’t wait to get back home to her. We already know that Harmony’s dad is a real piece of work but her mom isn’t mother of the year either. I would be damned if my baby girl had to live with anyone other than myself. Not to mention, seeing her being yelled at over FaceTime calls? She didn’t care about her daughter either..at least not enough to fight fully for her. She started this “search” in spite of her ex and only became so involved once the story became a media headline (in my opinion, of course). This poor baby would have had a beautiful life if only she would have been adopted by that couple.
Thank you for covering this case! I am appalled that a child can go missing this long, not be enrolled in school, and be involved in CPS, with a known criminal parent... wth?? I hope that by you covering this it will bc more publicized and something good will come of that:) or at worst closure for her Harmonys mom.
Look up the Mary and Elywn Crocker case in Georgia. It's a big case of multiple failures of two children. The case didn't get much national attention and trigger warning some stories talk about the abuse they suffered.
@PeRFeCT IMPeRFeCTiON I agree.. and I did have this “parent” in my head when I stated that. And I am appalled at the judge’s extreme poor judgement, especially when there were loving people who wanted to adopt. It’s mind bending
Your compassion and passion for these victims is what has me hooked on you. I love that you don't hide your anger and sugar coat it for the abusers/killers. I fully believe he killed his daughter. Hopefully someone does the same to him.

Missing persons in general is egregious and disturbing but when CHILDREN are at the center of this, it pisses me off to think that there really are Heartless people out there. Your rant got my blood boiling right along with yours. This broken, busted, system, where those at the very top live and live WELL, the cogs are underpaid, underqualified, overworked and then left with no empathy or drive to do more or better. Meanwhile - who suffers? WHO is left in the dark corners? The very same vulnerable groups whom these agencies and offices exist. Children, the elderly, the mentally ill, the disabled. If WE as a society, can't come together to take care of our most vulnerable members, what the hell does that say about us as a society? These people hide behind their desks, policies and gavels. At the end of the day, each individual who played any role in the demise of these children - they are each equally guilty of failure and dereliction of duty.
How do we make an immediate change? I'm mad, sad, and ready to DO something too - but what and how? These children ALL need someone to make immediate change.
Why does Adam Montgomery get away with almost no jail time and a slap on the wrist everytime?!? Why do people who have done such minor nothing offenses get more hassle than this?
Because it’s Massachusetts. Our courts are trash. This is normal for our judges and DCF. Poor Harmony never stood a chance with Mass DCF “caring” for her.

After watching this I realize the grandmother lives two doors down from me. Thank you for making this video. Thank you for helping people in the city of Manchester get more information to try and find out what happened.
In addition to all of the things that make me sick about this case - my heart breaks for her Mom Crystal. Was she perfect? Obviously not... But she worked to become sober and tried to find her daughter; perhaps if anyone listened to her from the start she might be OK...
@@heathernikki5734 Yes she was the first person to let her down; which is heartbreaking for Harmony and her little brother. I'm not excusing her behavior, approving of her mistakes nor am I claiming she was Mother of the Year. What I am saying is that in losing custody of her children as a consequence of her choices; left her standing on the edge of a life changing precipice with two options: #1.) Continue on her spiral downward until reaching rock bottom and possible death or #2.) Own up to these mistakes and make the choice to become the Mother she SHOULD have been by attempting to correct her life path - starting with attaining sobriety. Yes, she used illegal substances, yes she lost her children and these mistakes ended up costing her DEARLY - none of her mistakes warranted the permanent loss of her daughter. Its clear that the mistakes she made had a direct impact on the current circumstances surrounding Harmony's disappearance - she KNOWS she plays a significant role. Admitting to her mistakes, owning her role in this situation is, IMHO, a direct reflection of the sobriety she obtained and the mental health treatment she received. Substance use and addiction is a symptom of untreated mental health issues; adequate and appropriate treatment is required to attain and maintain sobriety. Why? Those suffering with ANY addiction are masters of excuses; addicts will justify their actions in whatever way fits whatever narrative they wish to sell. She is openly accepting her level of responsibility regarding Harmonys disappearance and that shows that her desire to become sober came from a very real place, the healing had begun and she wanted a chance to be a Mom. I'm not excusing her actions prior to her loss of custody, I'm glad she sought treatment but my heart will continue to break for her because she has tried to do the right thing and while it's obvious she isn't perfect her effort should count and she is the ONE PERSON who TRIED to locate her daughter. Just because someone makes a series of bad choices and mistakes doesn't mean we should kick them while they're down - I'd bet that she will spend the rest of her life blaming herself, more than that I doubt that anyone else could be harder on her than what she is doing to herself... I'm not asking you or any other individual to sympathize with her prior actions or inaction - Harmony is missing and any Mom who sincerely loves her children will be feeling unimaginable pain and that is something I can sympathize with.
@@heathernikki5734 You can have zero sympathy for her and she may have been the first person to let her down, but if you care about the story of this little girl you will appreciate any efforts being made to help find her and bring her to safety. She is doing that, even pushing as far as to get clean so she can do it with a clear head. It's all well and good bashing her for letting her down, but you all seem to forget that she's the one fighting to find her now and we likely wouldn't be hearing of this case if she wasn't pushing so far to get awareness. It's about the safety of the child, not YOUR personal feelings.
@@heathernikki5734 Ask yourself if she hadn’t gotten clean and started to send emails etc asking why no one was helping her find her daughter she would still be missing without anyone knowing
Every time I watch one of your videos I am honestly in awe of you. The amount of intelligence, spark, love the list could go on, that you show with every single case is beyond anything I’ve seen. If anything ever happened to me you are the one I would want putting my story out there. Love you beautiful lady ❤️
Stephanie is a beast!!! I cannot believe she is not over 1M subs by now. It is not about the numbers and that is not why she does it but she is pretty much the best!
Very moving episode. ❤️ Thank you Stephanie Harlowe 💓 😘 As a child I was in foster care. The system failed us. My sister and I got admitted to an abusive foster mother. I'm so glad that chapter in my life is long gone.
Stephanie will forever be my favorite true crime RUclipsr. The amount of passion you have for what you do, the research you put in, the sass… it’s unmatched!
This was a sad story of complete failures in the children’s services and it’s so infuriating when no one steps up and takes ownership. It’s like their attitude is “well it’s only one child”. I hope something positive happens. God bless these children.

So glad you’re covering this. I grew up in Manchester and still reside in NH. Harmony’s “father” is the same age as me and although I dont know him personally, I have many friends who do. EVERY SINGLE ONE of them has said that he has been an absolute monster his entire life. I think that speaks incredible volumes about someone’s character when the people you grew up with from childhood have not a single nice thing to say about you. Unfortunately, because of that, the general consensus amongst those who know him is that he is fully capable of doing the worst possible scenario In this case 😞 media has been quieting down around here with her case and it concerns me
I love you so much because you get as upset as I do about these cases and say exactly what I'm thinking. The incompetence of the adults dealing with these kids is incredibly infuriating and you stay so collected and well spoken through it all. I mean you probably edit some things out, but I wouldn't be able to make these videos. So thank you.
I really love how you always try to talk about the victims and what they loved and were like, I think it’s nice knowing more about them than “just a victim” thank you for that ❤️
I really appreciate you voicing that there needs to be actual action and calling out everyone sometimes I feel like I’m going crazy at how no one says shit about these serious things
A STANDING OVATION for the last rant about accountability and how nice words don't mean shit unless there is real change! So true i literally applauded after she was done. Im sick of all the talk and finger pointing while children are dying and being abused or missing! They all need to take actual action and steps forward to make a REAL change happen! Thank you for this video Stephanie! I feel the anger right along with you.
The main reason I keep coming back to your channel is because of how passionate you get about these cases. You are one of my top favorite true crime channels! Prayers for Harmony
I'm so angry that DCFS/DSS fails so many children, every freaking day ... Their SOLE job is to protect vulnerable people. This was so preventable. If only Harmony had been kept with Jamison. 🤬💔
@@jimmotheus6151 I do blame lawmakers. But a caseworker looking at a child has to make a decision. And I've witnessed firsthand a case worker leave a child in a clearly hazardous home.
I had to stop at 10:08 cause I literally broke down and cried. Harmony's little brother loves her so much. I can't believe these people!!!...urgh..now I'll continue to watch. Just had to share that.
Get em Stephanie! We love your passion and heart when you speak up for those that can't. This case, among the others you shared, is infuriating and so very sad.
My son was born in 2014. He’s 7 yrs old. My daughter is 13. I started crying too fast for this one. I will never understand why people have children that they’re not going to love with all their heart, and take care of at all costs. Anyone that can hurt a child is pure evil, and should be eradicated. I’m hugging my babies extra hard today at school pick up.
I looked just like her when I was little with the blonde hair, cross eyes and glasses, also had a drug addict/alcoholic father but thankfully I had an amazing mother to take care of me. This poor little innocent girl deserved SO much better than the life she was given, I hope she’s living a much better and peaceful life on the other side🤍
I was trafficked from 3-11 by a parent. this shit happens everywhere and all the time and it's time everyone starts talking about it. Harmony looks so much like I did, even the eye condition. this breaks my heart so much.
First of all, thank you Stephanie for doing these really hard cases. I image it's draining. Secondly, I'm only a few minutes into this one but this story is already very much like a set of foster kids who I kept a few years ago and what stuck me was when you said how this little girl was no one's top priority, because that is so true for so many kids. Its heartbreaking. I hope this video touches the right hearts and more people look into foster care.
This case is absolutely insane! I'm still trying to wrap my head around how on earth this precious little girl has been missing for TWO YEARS and nobody noticed. Until recently.. How in the hell does that even happen?!?! So many people failed this poor child. It's as if she was born into outer space. Nobody was truly looking out for her well-being and best interests. Except for maybe the couple who adopted her brother and wanted to adopt her too. My personal opinion is that the father was definitely involved. Not sure if he sold her or took her life or what. Honestly after what I've heard about him, I could believe either scenario. Sadly I feel in my heart of hearts that Harmony is no longer with us. I pray I'm wrong! But I hope the truth comes out and Dad gets put UNDERNEATH the jail! I'm also inclined to believe that the judge who placed this child with her biological sperm donor, with the criminal record he had, should face some consequences as well. If not for that idiotic ruling, Harmony could've ended up adopted with her brother and had a chance at a real life. I'm outraged, horrified and so very sad for this poor girl.
I think that one of the reasons for why children go missing without anyone knowing is for two major reasons... 1. Custody arrangements that make it difficult for the other parent to even see their child (seems like this 'father' was withholding the child from the birth mother and her family), or the simple fact that nobody is looking in the first place. Which I think both factors in this case is what happened to cause little Harmony to go missing and have nobody notice. I heard on another channel that the mother over the years was trying to get the child and constantly called police for welfare checks...
Well said Jillybean! I know if these judges bore any of the responsibilities for the decisions they make, everything would be WAY different. These children wouldn’t go back into dangerous, abusive situations. It makes me physically ill.
I'm crying happy tears seeing you cover this story. This poor little girl. I live near this area and was hoping you would see this story and cover it. Thank you so much for covering this poor angels story.
I'm from South Africa and absolutely LOVE your channel. Thank you for all your effort in giving every victim a voice. As for the "cold", we're having a beautiful heatwave with temperatures of 30°C

Poor Harmony. Just seeing her sweet little face makes me want to bawl my eyes out. I don't understand how this pos Adam was ever even out walking free. It baffles my mind and breaks my heart. I wish the dad's had gotten Harmony too. It's just so damn sad.

@@stephanieann8115 Did you see Adam kill her? You make a theory sound like a fact. Is it likely that she is dead? Yes, but she's still missing, the main suspect isn't talking, and there might be something to Crystal's theory. We just don't know at this point.

As someone who's from the New England area there's so much corruption in every New England state when it comes to justice for children. Out of the six states New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Maine have some honestly sad and heartbreaking cases and it's beyond sad that these three New England states let families down on the daily. I've grown up watching on the news all these little kids going missing, having parents that shouldn't have been raising them, and it's like their story gets coverage, but then goes dark after a few weeks. I hope that this little girl somehow gets the answers and justice she deserves.
My daughter(adopted), was placed with me by both of her unmarried parents in agreement. Dcyf considered her case kinship placement since I knew the family. My daughter had zero visits from her father while in my care. She was placed with me in October 2012. End of February 2013 her father came to pick her up from out of state at 10:30pm at night. I threw a fit saying he was going to drive back to Michigan that night after driving all the way through for three days BUT WHO AM I. When I got the info that he was awarded custody of my daughter I was sad and livid. No visits, no calls, no home visits, no anything. The state of Arizona and Michigan took dads word that he was living the farm life, clean and sober, working and making a “ton of money”. No one listened to my concerns as I “just wanted the child” Yes! Yes I did for many reasons. But if she would of been better off with her bio family I would not have stepped in! If she would of been better off with her dad why did he and the birth mom place her with me??? Well folks… three weeks of having my daughter food old dad had 3 cases with DCF for not protecting my daughter, neglect, and SA on my daughter … had no idea about these charges until dad came back to Az… called and asked if I wanted to see my daughter, and when I got there to see her in the motel 6 parking lot she was dirty, cigarette burns, chopped hair, and clothes toooo big! She ran into my arms and i never let her go again! Of course he asked if I wanted to “watch” Her until he found a home. Yeah ok. He wasn’t coming back thank you Jesus. I contact cps/dcf in Az and said I have her back and not letting her go! If it was t for two cps workers who fought along side of me … my daughter would of been one of the lost souls that had gos only knows what could of happened to her. She’s 12 now and we have behaviors of her trauma starting to show through. she knows she adopted and I promised to tell her when she’s of age why she came to us. We make adoption a happy, positive thing in our house. I don’t say negative things to my daughter about her parents … yet. I do say that they didn’t know how to be protective parents, they made horrible choices and put my daughter through hell. I say the parents where not nice people and had to fix their own demons. Once again… when she can handle and process the truth I will tell her. These people went on to have a total of 4 more kids (dad) and 5 more kids (mom). I hope and pray mom turned out to be a better parent with her new husband and dad… well I doubt a monster can change. After all he received counseling and therapy for his abuse. He did serve a year in jail and 5 years probation for the endangerment of a child. I guess that’s a glamorized way of saying you can SA your child, give up drug dealers names and plea down your charges. Way to go Az Mohave county courts… she is safe and not in harms way and that’s what matters now!! Bottom line is child welfare workers are overworked and overbooked. Most workers don’t care as they are overloaded! You have to hope and pray you are blessed with a worker who cares
At around the 47 minute mark when you were going after the whole system. I found your words extremely powerful, I can only hope your message reaches the people who have the power to change the system, it's truly heartbreaking and infuriating. Thank you for using your platform to raise awareness and give a voice to all the vulnerable people who sadly can't use theirs. 💚
I remember the first time I saw you make your coffee. I was like “woah omg so much chocolate syrup what’s that about” …then I got some…And I tried it. And now I don’t use regular sugar. I sweeten my coffee with Hershey’s “simply” chocolate syrup because why tf would you not?? It’s fantastic. Thank you Sam I am.
I'm happy to see someone covering this. When it broke on the news it briefly was talked about and then things went quiet. This poor little girl needs to be found and this case needs more attention.

God bless your family and those friends who adopted him ❤️

Yeah that absolutely blows my mind. I can't understand it.
Makes one wonder about them in their personal life right?
I mean, we see red flags all over the place, but do these judges see all they did as a good thing because they do it too? And just get away with it?
That’s Massachusetts for you 😞🤦🏻♀️

But my parents were taken care of my kids so In my mind “they were ok” but when I had my second set of twins and they were taken by child services, that was the worse day of my life and I did everything in my power to get my kids back. I’ve now got almost 7 years clean and have all 5’kids home with me .
Congratulations!!! I am so proud and so glad!
Hell yea!!!!! Rock this recovery!!!! Just hit 9 years!!!! We do recover!!!!

Thanks. I've always wondered why criminals plead not guilty all the time. I felt if you did the crime just admit it.
Thank you! I love when professionals can add even more knowledge to Stephanie's amazing videos, especially when I can use it to point out bloopers in tv shows how 😊
So how does a biological parent adopt their child?

My wife had been sold as a baby for money used for drugs. Luckily, it was to her dad's sister. Her aunt took her to get her out of the bad living conditions she was in. She is alive because of this woman and I am forever grateful that someone cared enough to do something, even if it was an illegal act to trade money for a child. Afterward, DCF got involved and she was placed with her loving grandparents.
Thank goodness someone cared about her!!
Either way it's my Dad's cousin so they all grew up together, which was nice for them.

I know. I have a sickening feeling that the judge thought it was better for a child to be given to an abusive addict father rather than a loving gay couple. You never know how much of a judge's decision is influenced by their own personal politics/beliefs.
It's sweet but also sad that her little brother was the one who mentioned having a sister.
I agree! I know the adoptive couple's sister and it's so sad they weren't able to adopt Harmony as well.
The system let's down thousands of children, nothing new.
Looking at this sweet baby’s smile brings tears to my eyes every single time.
Agree, 💯%. Would like to "talk" to the "dad"! As far as I know, I'm still eligible for a Public Defender! 🤷🤦😂👵🇺🇸
Agreed!!!!!!
It’s frustrating AND heartbreaking 💔
@@speaktruth9313 So you just told Rita here that she is a liar and doesn't know what she is talking about? Seriously?

I hope this litter girl is eventually found. I have a bad feeling about it though. I think the father probably killed her. Since it's clear he was abusive. But I hope that I'm wrong and that she is still alive out there somewhere.

I don't get how the couple wasn't told Jameson had a older sister before adopting him and why the judge would give adam custody with the record he has. I feel there was bribery or the judge has no brain or common sense to make serious decisions like this

@@morgan4574 Listening to the way a foster kid might live with a family for 7 years and ONLY know that family, only to be ripped away from it because their "biological parents feels like it", often with no warning, it's just horrific... And it obviously is not for the well-being of the child. If it was for the child, they would be left in the care of stable families, not yanked from everything they know and trust.
@@emeryltekutsu4357 I agree completely. The children should have rights to their own safety and stability, they didn't ask to be brought into the world.

Being an addict and a mother is so hard. Especially when you’re freshly clean. I have 2 years under my belt and 4 month old twins, it is NOT easy

No excuses. She should be rendered infertile.
too late, she failed her daughter and lost her daughter. she should never forgive herself because nothing will change what she did
We all make mistakes especially dealing with unhealed pain.

In addition to all of the things that make me sick about this case - my heart breaks for her Mom Crystal. Was she perfect? Obviously not... But she worked to become sober and tried to find her daughter; perhaps if anyone listened to her from the start she might be OK...
Oh whatever. She was the FIRST person to let her down. I have ZERO sympathy for her.
"We don't need thoughts and prayers, we need action" YES !!! Thoughts and prayers isn't just useless, it's insulting to all victims.
💯
Exactly !!!
Prayer is not useless. It is a powerful weapon.
Period!!!
@@jennifers.5274 No, because it makes you feel like you're doing something useful when you're not.
Why does CPS continue to rip kids out of loving homes, but then do absolutely nothing when the child is being abused? It makes me SO mad!!
I’m going through this right now
@@kimberlysimmons6395 whats happening?
I love and appreciate your enthusiasm for this case and others like it. These children need their community to speak for them.
I'm so angry that DCFS/DSS fails so many children, every freaking day ... Their SOLE job is to protect vulnerable people. This was so preventable. If only Harmony had been kept with Jamison. 🤬💔
I get it but how can they do their job with an AVERAGE of 93 cases? Blam lawmakers and voters in your community who continue to cut funding
@@jimmotheus6151 I do blame lawmakers. But a caseworker looking at a child has to make a decision. And I've witnessed firsthand a case worker leave a child in a clearly hazardous home.
Unfortunately the system focuses primarily on reunifying shitty families instead of the actual safety and welfare of children.
They only take action if the child is “saleable” in some way. Basically a white newborn baby. After that you’re on your own.
I blame Massachusetts they dropped the ball first . BTW I am from their
I had to stop at 10:08 cause I literally broke down and cried.
Same. My son was born June 2014 I can’t imagine. This case hit me hard. 😭
Same, my youngest daughter was born in 2014, this case is beyond heartbreaking 💔
Preach Sister!!! Wholly Hell, that speech, at the end, was freakin OUTSTANDING! I would gladly stand beside you in that fight!
I'm so sick of funding being cut for important agencies, such as social services and schools. WHAT is being done with the money?!?!
This story is so unbelievably sad . How a child could just be gone for 2 years and no one noticed . This child was completely failed by everyone
Agreed!
I'm crying happy tears seeing you cover this story. This poor little girl. I live near this area and was hoping you would see this story and cover it. Thank you so much for covering this poor angels story.
It’s so sad how many of our babies are being put in harm’s way. This story is heart wrenching.
I'm from South Africa and absolutely LOVE your channel. Thank you for all your effort in giving every victim a voice.
As for the "cold", we're having a beautiful heatwave with temperatures of 30°C
The madder you are, the better you are, Stephanie! The details, the arguments. the counter arguments, the calling out of officials; LOVE it! Got get them girl!!
This little girl is SO cute. This breaks my heart into a million pieces.
Mine to she's so precious
Absolutely heartbreaking case. 💔 so many people failed this little girl. I hope that her mom can finally have closure. My heart is aching so bad for her.
This story is sickening. Also, you were so great on Mile Higher 👏love hearing everyone’s perspective. Cases like these def open your eyes.
Poor Harmony. Just seeing her sweet little face makes me want to bawl my eyes out. I don't understand how this pos Adam was ever even out walking free. It baffles my mind and breaks my heart. I wish the dad's had gotten Harmony too. It's just so damn sad.
Don’t you think she looks just like him too?! It had to be like looking in the mirror when he murdered that sweet baby😢he deserves a slow and painful death 💀
@@stephanieann8115 Did you see Adam kill her? You make a theory sound like a fact. Is it likely that she is dead? Yes, but she's still missing, the main suspect isn't talking, and there might be something to Crystal's theory. We just don't know at this point.
She looks so precious in her pictures…this really is hard to listen to. Such a beautiful little lady that deserved so much better than what she was given.

@@stephanieann8115 I pointed out that there is no evidence that Harmony is dead & that Adam killed her. This is the YT comment section & people ARE allowed to reply to comments. You have a wonderful day.👋
I'm crying. Your passion comes out in your voice. I love what you do!
Of course he asked if I wanted to “watch”
Her until he found a home.
I FEEL the anger in your voice Stephanie ! Thank you for sharing this important case , it was much needed .
Thank you for speaking about this case! It’s happening in my state and it’s been difficult to piece together all the info. Justice for Harmony!
