Yep. Its so gross how crimes where the victim is a man and the perp a woman is portrayed as less than or less serious than crimes where the woman is the victim. Why cant we treat all of them with the same level if seriousness and care!

ABSOLUTELY!! Unfortunately because the world so often views men as either the perpetrator or the protector they seem to care less about the shitty things that happen to men just in general and in situations like this. Men can be the victims and women can be the perpetrators.
In most cases Men often get longer sentences than women for the same crimes. The vocabulary is often very different when the man is a victim as well. It’s a damn shame.

Sadly, I think the police are absolutely victim blaming here. They are completely dismissing the power dynamic, grooming, and human trafficking. Instead they are insisting because he's an adult and keeps returning to his abuser that everything was perfectly consensual and not abuse. This is sadly still a very common take by law enforcement for adult victims of human trafficking.

If this was a female where this had started when the female was a girl, the man that did that would be locked up and the woman would be looked after. The whole tone of that video was reflected in the comments; no one acknowledges/cares that women are also abusers. There are plenty of people who’d call me a misogynist for even suggesting that “sometimes, females abuse males.” Being “woke” is fine, but extremism in all its forms is BAD.

I'm adopted but found my birth mother when I was 21. She had married my father two years after my birth and I was thrilled to find I had a full younger sister and brother. Our mother was nothing like I had imagined her to be. My brother developed an alcohol addiction as he had started drinking from the age of eleven. What eleven year did starts drinking unless there's something wrong. He eventually confided in me that he started drinking after picking up our mother's half drunk gin and tonic one morning because he felt so stressed from his mother's constant screaming and yelling. He also told me that he had memories of his mother giving him oral sex when he was 3 years old. When he was 14 he lost his virginity from his mom's 40 year old best friend. Our mother set it all up as a "gift" to my brother. Both my siblings always told me how lucky I was to have been given up for adoption and not raised by our mother. I agree!

Ten to one the brainwashing started when he was a kid, and if you're raised in a situation like this, just turning 18 doesn't mean all the chains fall off, so it's no wonder he didn't "just leave" when he became an adult. He probably doesn't think like an adult right now.

Agreed. If parental manipulation starts in early childhood, the victims don't miraculously break free on their 18th birthday. And also: If his mental age was around 10 when he "disappeared" at 17 like some people who knew him have said, it doesn't really matter how old his body is. The "mother" was also the only person in Rudy's life, and she apparently kept him on some pretty disorienting drugs. We're obviously not talking about a sober, healthy, normal 25 year old here, and he shouldn't be treated like one. This case is just sick!!!

They took my inheritance from my grandma when I was living among them so I knew they would think of some other way to take my inheritance from my father, then my mother so there was not even a financial benefit to stay, if I would have chose to. The very best way to heal is to walk away. You will always be the selfish self centered evil one so you will have nothing to loose! It’s GAS LIGHTING AT ITS BEST! In my opinion!

When you’re raised this way, you don’t even COMPREHEND that you’re separate from the Abuser who uses Coercive Control. You genuinely BELIEVE that you must be attached to the abuser for your very survival (you’re taught to think that way and as a small child, you don’t even know there’s any other way). Then, the fact that your abuser is SUPPOSED to be the one who protects you, but doesn’t, and in fact, is the CAUSE of your trauma, confusion, gaslighting, etc- that in and of itself is the deepest core wound of the entire scenario of abuse. The rest just falls in line with all that. (See Betrayal Trauma Theory by Dr Jennifer Freyd, University of Oregon)

After they pulled them over?? So that’s a thing right? A 24 hour apart can be placed on two adults, regardless??
Also when does child abuse age stop and elder abuse start? What age? Bare with me on this thought process…so ‘he’s an adult’ so they can’t stop him from returning to the home with his abusive mother?? Because he’s not a ‘child’ but if it was the other way around, you’re not telling me they’d let a mother return to house with an abusive son?? Even if she’s a adult that wouldn’t happen?? So adult or not, they could have stepped in, surely??
I'm just wondering at what age do police start caring again, they have laws to protect kids, laws to protect the elderly but everything in the middle is just ignored??
Like seriously this scares me, how many people are out there living this awful life.

Now she's alone with him, she can easily show him those clips and say "look, I was right, now you have to say/do xyz or you'll get arrested for sure". And why wouldn't he believe her? And by not arresting her and allowing him to go home with her sounds like they're telling him she did nothing wrong. Proving her right plus saying she did nothing wrong?

Even without drugs or any learning disability, your entire life is shaped by your parents, they rule the world you live in from the moment you are born. This can't be underestimated in abuse situations, it's hard to see your parents in a bad light since they are the ones that teach you how to see the world and they are the only reference that you have for the world you live in.
Of course as you grow older you will have other experiences with people outside your family, like at school, on the internet, at work, but even then it takes a long time to fully accept the abuse by hands of the people who are supposed to love you and teach you how to navigate the world. So yeah those interviewers really had no business asking why didn't he run away instead of asking how his mother could have ever done something so horrific.

As their child, you love and trust your parents above everything else, even if it confuses you, even though they have hurt you so much and continue to hurt you. You might not even understand yet that they are hurting you. It’s hard to believe your parent, someone who should love you, is hurting you. You believe them when they say they are doing something in your best interest. They are your parent but they are also your abuser and your jailer. The last 6 months were especially bad. Her husband kicked us out. 3 people, mom, brother, and I, shared a one room tiny apartment. And I mean living room and a bathroom and that’s it. This case absolutely insane and you’d think it would be completely obvious to HPD… it makes zero sense as to why this woman is able to walk around freely in society and her son is still under her control. If this were a situation with a father and a daughter… there would 100% be charges right now and the father would be enemy number 1!!

While I absolutely agree that the chief was/is douchey, his reluctance to continue answering questions associated with Quanell X is understandable. Mr. X has a long history of inserting himself into cases and controversies, purportedly out of concern and activism, but in most instances it is more for clout and camera time. In my own small community we had a horrific case that gained broad national attention. Mr. X inserted himself in defense of the perpetrators, raised money for their defense while also publicly and vocally placing the blame for their actions on the ELEVEN YEAR OLD VICTIM OF A GROUP SEXUAL ASSAULT. I will say, in Rudy's case, I tend to agree with Quanell X but anything he says needs to be consumed with a very large grain of salt and with full knowledge that Quanell X's #1 focus is getting Quanell X in front of cameras.

First, not only did he lose his brother, but watched him die because they arrived on scene before emergency services. Then, his father commits “S”, because of the crimes he had been a part of. So the young man is dealing with loss, pain and probably shame and quilt from the public. So he couldn’t even grieve the natural way, especially living with this cruel egg donor. Then we hear all this other disturbing, disgusting trauma he endured over all these years. If all is true, he needs to be surrounded with so much love and needs so much proper therapy and I hope he receives it all! Lord, I pray for him and hope she pays for her crimes and is put way. The least Finner/HPD could do is get Adult Protective Services involved. Both agencies need to do their jobs which taxpayers are required to pay for.
