I’ve had this gem since it came out but there were few reviews at the time. Good to see your considered opinion! Good to see a video review! I agree with all you’ve said, especially the 3D character and image quality. I enjoy the focus throw, as it makes manual focus on anything beyond 2m very fast yet gives a lot of control under 2m to nail focus. Clicks would be nice, but I like to compose with EVF and adjust aperture intuitively until the image balances right to my liking.. I’d love to see your comparison with the Fujinon 35mm f1.4. Thanks for a great video 👌🏻
Thank you. I like the way you are working with aperture - we tend to be too hung up on numbers and forger it's about the final image! I'll remember that, thanks! And the comparison video is coming, just need more samples to form a conclusion.
Hi, this lens look interesting. I remember you saying some time ago that your Xpro3 is going but it looks like you kept it. What made you change your mind. If you were to keep just one camera would it be Xpro3 or Leica CL and why? Dilemmas 😎
Hi Jarek, the X-PRO 3 is going away, I just wanted to test the manual lens on a Fuji camera with larger viewfinder. For me the CL is the better fit but the two cameras are very close in how they feel in operation, performance and now even price (used). The only problem with the CL is that I can't easily replace it if it breaks but I'm holding on to see what Panasonic will release under L2 alliance.
Iv used this lens but it’s not that great. Optically it’s quite good, but for street photography and using zone focasing I struggled. The difference between infinity and 5 or 3 meters is so small it’s really time consuming for fast photography.
Hi Petr! I had a question for you if I can. I ended up getting xpro 3 and really enjoying it! Only problem I have is a keep putting my left finger on the front viewfinder window lol. What is the best way to clean the glass on these cameras? I looked in the owners manual and they don’t say much. Just seems like use soft fiber towel/microfiber cloth to clean the camera. Is this the best way to clean it, using a microfiber cloth? Thanks in advance!
The X-PRO 3 is weather sealed so I don't think you need to worry about wiping it with a wet microfiber cloth. A dry cloth will probably not remove greasy marks our fingers leave. The best way to clean any camera or lens is to use a dedicated cleaning products - look online for 'lens cleaning kit'.
Thank you! I like the classic proportions and design of 7Artisans better - it's just more enjoyable to use... I haven't spent much time comparing image quality of these two lenses, so don't want to make a rushed judgment. Maybe I'll make a video about it.
@@aperturestories2261 If you do all of this, it must work (copy+paste from X-S10 quick start guide): Put the camera in Manual focus (M) mode using the Q Menu, then press MENU OK twice and navigate to the AF/MF SETTING menu. Its sharper than other cheap manuał 35 1.4s
Good to know!
I have 7artisans 35mm 1.2. Using it with X-Pro1 and I really like it!
Nice combo!
After seeing this vid I ordered one for the misses. She's very happy with this lens on the good old X-T1! Thanks for the review.
Awesome! Thanks a lot. I bet the photos are great on the 'ancient' X-Trans sensor :)
@@PetrGardianTV We absolutely love every shot. She nails it and the lens helps her to capture the ideas that pop up in her head, but better.

Just ordered one for incredibly cheap $55USD ( Black Friday Sales ). Can’t wait to try it out !!!
That is a steal! Enjoy, it's a great little lens.
Would appreciate the comparison with the Fuji 35mm 1.4. Thx
I will work on that.
Cool video! Definitely gonna consider getting this lens
Glad you liked it!

Yes, for street photography pre-focus works better with this lens.
@@PetrGardianTV completely agree, it’s not bad given the price just something people should know about 👍
wich is better: 7artisans 35mm 1.4 or 7artisans 25mm 1.8 for fujifilm x mount
I have not tried the 25/1.8 but the lenses look similar in build so I would go with the focal length you like more.
Cool video. How does it compare to the Meike 35mm f1.4?
Thank you. I haven't tried the Meike lens, so can't say, sorry.
Had a clip with Virginia City in it?! Haha Wild, small world.

I keep moving the aperture ring along with the focus ring... annoying
Yeah, clicked aperture ring would help with that.

Hello. Can this lens give the same quality as a nikon af-s 35mm f2.0 lens?
Hi, apologies but I don't have experience with this Nikon lens.

Would this lens be good for videography?
I don't see why not. It has clickless aperture ring, which will help.
tt artisan 35mm or this one?
I'm not done with testing the TTArtisan 35/1.4 but it won't take long. So far I can't tell, there are trade offs with both.
I have 7 artisans 25 mm lens for my Fuji XS 10. But focus check doesn't work. How is it solve ?
If you mean focus peaking then look up in manual on how to turn it on. Your camera also needs to have the 'shoot without lens' options enabled.
