I love that you go straight to the point I seen others talk about 0.95 but get to much detail about it and don’t really show example photos so thank you for getting to the point and showing example photos
Yay! So happy you enjoyed the review! I am working on other lenses too, just finding the time to edit the videos , been tough juggling with new content when I am full time photographer too and not merely just as a RUclipsr 😅, appreciate the kind feedback 😊
Having a clicking aperture ring is the best thing in the world for video. So much so that a dop I know clicked his cinema lenses because he was so tired of dialing in the same stops every single time.
Yeah I guess I kind of like it too a certain extent, cos I realise that I don't usually change aperture values on the fly and also I hate accidentally closing down the aperture ring without realising it
4:31 One big advantage of mirrorless cameras is that the lenses for them do not have to be designed so that the rear element is far from the sensor (to accommodate the mirror). This means better and smaller lenses. There is one more problem still lingering with digital cameras in general: the sensors to this day cannot deal very well with skew rays. This is the reason why the super-famous wide-angle lenses like Biogon or Hologon are not available for digital cameras. They are true-wide-angle designs (Rusinov type) and they cannot be used with digital cameras because their sensors require that rays of light hit them more or less perpendicularly. This is accomplished by designing the "digital" wide-angle lenses using a reverse telephoto design instead of the true wide-angle PLUS adding extra elements (so-called telecentric designs) thus raising their price and degrading their optical quality. Let's hope this issue with the digital sensors gets fixed one of these days so we can have those magnificent lenses available for them again.
Interesting variety in the bokeh at various distances. Sometimes it's smooth and pleasing, sometimes it's bubbles, and sometimes it's busy to the point of harshness. This looks like a very fun lens to play with.
Yup it definitely is a fun “little’ lens to play with as it’s got character, and it gives your images that much more organic quality to it compared to a clean modern sharp lens 😊
I got this lens in Dec 2020 for $203 extremely glad I jumped on the product! I do recommend you purchase one as opposed to just making RUclips content to promote the product. Such unbelievable premium quality to it! The focus breathing is "non existent" you have a very small margin of error to get the lens to focus on the subject.
Yeah would have loved to get one for myself, alas , I need AF very badly cos I dont have a prime with AF on my fuji system, so I got myself the fuji xF33mm f1.4, akd love it so much with my new X-T4 😀
@@QippysChannel AF lenses won’t get you the depth of field at the cost of Chinese manufacturers. This is a specialty lens for artistic shots. My second 7Artisans lens is the 12mm f2.8 ultra wide, same great premium quality.

I tried both on my Fuji X-E3. But the 0.95 was much heavier, much bigger, let in no extra light so no improvement on low light photography, has a boring exterior design and had less interesting bokeh. So the I kept the 1.2, which is a jewel if you know what it can and can't do. I use it wide open 90% of the time.
Yeah I do like the 35 1.2’s size that’s for sure , it really is a great lens when u just want to light 👍😊 btw do check out that review too I made on my channel 😊
Great video, very well produced. Interesting, you state this is not the lens if you want corner to corner sharpness, but you shoot always wide open at .95. My experience with these fast lenses is they typically get soft wide open, and by stopping down you can experience their maximum sharpness.
Thanks so much, you’re right. Yeah even closed down I do notice that these lenses have no resolving power like more premium branded lenses, so yeah that’s what I was implying too if they expect it to be somewhat sharp, it’s not going to be the case at any aperture I guess 😊
Cheers mate! That’s really nice of you to say, to be honest I would have loved to take more epic shots , but that’s what I could have snapped at the time with all this covid lockdowns and stuff at the time 😅

Hey, Sayan this side I have one question. Actually I am a student and just got one second hand fuji camera. Now I want a lens for night time videography. I am also an artist who posts various videos. I have a few lights and as I have my college during day time coming and drawing at night is kind of relaxing but can't record as my current lens has 2.8 f stop. I am planning to buy one lens that will give me the liberyof shooting some film footage for my job and also those of my artworks during night. so which f stop would be a better option for me a0.95 or a 1.2 or a 1.4. I actually don't have a lot in my pocket and at Max can just buy one lens. So if you can help me a bit would be great. Lots of love from India🇮🇳🇮🇳
Hi there thanks for tuning in , in my opinion just get the 0.95 if you’d like maximum ability to shoot in low light, however if weight and compactness is more your concern while being able to shoot in low light then just get the compact F1.2 instead. Hope that helps your decision making 😊
Is this alot sharper than 35 f1.2 ? Is the f1.2 usable? I ordered the 1.2, maybe i should have gone fot f.95 but i went for It because my mist filter is 46mm, it would maybe be to big of a jump with ringup filter from 46 to 52?
In my opinion the f0.95 seemed definitely a little more sharper wide open, however u would have to bare in mind that if a smaller size is really something u need to have , then the f1.2 will make u u happy, despite it being a ‘character’ lens , btw I did do a review on that lens too so do check it out
I would go for the AF one first if u need to do alot of video work and street stuff cos this will slow u down, however if u can afford to take your time in your shots this has way more character and will yield more dramatic looking shots in my opinion!
@@abfilmsproductionlondon well for gimbal work it’s not that suitable, its better to get an AF lens or a manual lens you can use with a motorised follow focus system 😊

I like the 35mm 0.95 than the 1.2. the prob on the 1.2 is that is shows some cats eye and some purple flair, maybe there is a coat or something.
Yeah, but for it’s size it’ll take the 35 1.2 anytime night or day just as a fun walk around lens 😊

Hey! Does anyone know if the f0.95 lens will fit on a Canon 4000d? I think its an EF-S mount :)
I doubt it would but the M canon mount cameras I think shld be able to
im really new to this if I mount it to my A5000 Sony camera, will be automatic focus or manual focus? I didn't see any sensor on the lens
Hi there, this is a manual lens , so there is no Autofocus on it , and the lens mount doesn’t have any electronic connections to the camera 😊

super!

Any recommendation of lenses that are sharp through out the frame? for MFT?
Hmmm I don’t really know much about M4/3rd lenses , however I would say do check out panasonic lenses and even other lems makes like TT Artisans too 😊
But tou need an ND filter, right? Specially crop cameras only goes up to 1/4000
Well u can always close the aperture down too unless u are shooting video and u need the shutter rule to be observed
great video (y)
yep, 'so affordable'
Yup, I mean where can you find premium 0.95’s at that price right 😆
Which is sharper? At 1.2-1.4?
I would say easily the 0.95 seems to be alot more well controlled in general, it may be because it has more elements to correct more artefacts etc
Cut the Distracting/totally unnessary music!
@@marzy57 thanks for tuning in and the feedback 😊
I think this lens doesn't has any advantage over the 1.2. the difference in bokeh is insignificant but the size is really restrictive 🥲
Yeah for the size I did find it a little cumbersome to use 😅

Manual focus 😊
So I have sony A7iv
So how can use in Gimble
@@abfilmsproductionlondon well for gimbal work it’s not that suitable, its better to get an AF lens or a manual lens you can use with a motorised follow focus system 😊
