    This was the most incredible, simplistic way of explaining the human future if we start caring now instead of when we are already too far gone to be able to fix it. I learned alot, so thank you for this film. Great job to all of you at VMF.

    I am speechles, this video is so beautiful and sad at the same time... Sad for what humans do to this world, our world and the animals that we share it with... But then there is a bunch of people like Dave, Josie and Kyle who help these little traumatized vervet babies, unbelievable the work that they do! I have to let this sink in for now but will watch it again and again and again... Well done VMF!

    It instantly warmed my heart to hear Kyle narrating this film, it's great to know he is still working in film making, and remains in touch with the VMF family!
    Edit, now that I've watched this I realize that it's the original documentary that Kyle made back in 2017 that I had tried so hard to find but couldn't. It's still great to hear Kyle's voice and see this beautiful film, thanks Kyle, Dave, Josie and all the amazing staff and volunteers!

    • @philbert006
      @philbert006 Год назад +11

      2017 is when it went around to all those film festivals. He talks about it all through the first 3 seasons, but in tiny little bits. The movie was released in 2016, and I think he said it was recorded in 2014. And you wouldn't be able to "find" the movie, whether you tried or not. It was all done by Kyle while he was working there, then he did all the editing and music and everything. That is to say, it was not made to be released and sold, not intended really for viewing by the general public, though I think he said he allows some educational institutions to show it. It is an incredibly small group of people interested in such a thing, and you can imagine that it would only be way smaller ten years ago. I mean, the people that follow this and enjoy it seem like a big huge family. And sure, several teens of thousands of folks maybe is kind of a big family. But in the grand scheme, not so much. The RUclips channel wasn't even able to monetize until after Kyle had created the RUclips channel and put in all that extra work for years and then left. And it doesn't take all that much to monetize a channel. A thousand subscribers? Not a lot. Anyways, this is probably the only chance you'll get to enjoy this film. Might be worth it to find a way to download and save it for a rainy day. It may not stay up forever, at least not here on RUclips.

      @@philbert006 I had wondered, because at the end, it said "These were the monkeys rescued in 2015 and 2016" which I presumed was while they were filming.

    • @philbert006
      @philbert006 Год назад +5

      @@sarah2.017 yah. Like I had mentioned, Kyle slowly lets out details thru the first three seasons on the RUclips channel. But he kinda mentions them in passing, as he is busy telling a story when he was doing it. There is like two episodes where he tells a bit more. One is when he goes to visit his friend at the baboon rescue place nearby, then he does what I'm gonna call a "who am I" episode, tells a bit about himself and how he came to be there. I'm glad he chose to show the film again. It goes into important and serious issues that affect not only the green monkeys, but all the people and animals in these kind of environments, things that often get set aside in order to focus on a fun and happy story about the baby monkeys. It's an important piece of work, especially to anyone interested in what's really happening outside their immediate surroundings, anyone interested in living the way we were intended to, in harmony with everything, living or not to the best of it abilities. It shows you where to direct your energy if you are truly interested in making a meaningful impact. And it's well done, fun, and obviously something he cares deeply about. The kind of thing our world is sorely missing already, and is leading to a really grim outlook for some of us.

      @@philbert006 I bought a copy of the doc on Vimeo a couple of years ago, so it was available for sale. In fact, I just checked Vimeo and put in the title. The first thing that popped up was "You own this!", so I still own a copy on Vimeo, even though it's now free. My point was only to say that the film WAS available to buy, at least a couple of years ago, on Vimeo.

    • @quietinspirationcreations3448
      @quietinspirationcreations3448 Год назад

      @@philbert006 I actually talked to Kyle at length about finding a way to see the film (I believe that was in 2017). At that time he said that National Geographic and Nat Geo Wild should have been playing reruns of it, and he couldn't directly give me a copy (I don't know much about the legal side of the film industry). He suggested that I had two options to see it, contact Nat Geo and find out when it would next air, or if I could find a public venue to host a viewing, then it would be provided to me at no charge. After several attempts to contact both Nat Geo channels, no one returned my calls or emails. My local libraries required a minimum number of people to commit to attending the viewing and the schools didn't feel it fit their curriculum. At that point, I felt uncomfortable asking Kyle to provide me a copy, simply for my personal viewing, and I didn't have a clear understanding of how to make sure everyone was properly compensated, so I gave up on seeing it. It would have been really cool to see at the time, but I didn't want to step on any toes or get anyone in trouble over seeing a movie.

I'll be recommending all my friends to take time to watch this documentary.
    ...regardless of how old this is, it is as much of a crisis today as it was when made. For the survival of life on this planet we all need to do as much as we can to educate everyone of the role wildlife, the rainforest and ALL habitat play for our future generations. It is sad about the changing ecosystem and the loss of plants and animal habitats. I live in the Chicago area, and even in a big city like this, all the fields I grew up with have been replaced by apartments and mini malls. This is a beautiful film that shows the connections between man and nature - that conveys that every living thing and every plant on earth has a purpose. If humans could see that, the earth would be a paradise. But since humans obviously always need an enemy image in order to blame other beings for self-caused catastrophes - the Vervet Monkeys are regarded as a plague - their lives in South Africa are threatened. In a sensitive way, with excellent images and a balanced narrative rhythm, this film brings us closer to the goals and work of the Vervet Monkey Foundation.

    I received my coffee cup with the four little babies and I love it. These Vervet monkeys are the prettiest of all the babies I have watched. I think the blond babies are the least pretty money of all. ❤

    Also the commentary of Kyle’s voice is heartwarming as a (couple year) veteran of this community.

    You folks have done an amazing job with these little babies. It's also amazing how the adopted mums are so good at jumping in and taking over for the orphans real mothers. Congrats and keep up the good work.

    I love seeing the monkeys like this instead of in someones home getting dunked in soap and water and they scream and cry and the diapers is always slam full it's sad. I love seeing the Vervets going through the stages and going to be with a mom it's the sweetest thing thank y'all for what y'all do I know it's hard work but it pays off for the babies in the future. 💜💙💜

      Much better than seeing poor animals made to walk bipedal and dressed in clothes, even shoes so pathetic. These people know what they are doing for the good of the animals. So much better than these cruel idiots making thousands of dollars out of those Macaques.

      I agree. I’m always in disagreement with others when I see monkeys being made into pets when they’re babies then thrown back when they can’t control them as adults. Then the alpha kills it cause it doesn’t know how to be a monkey!

      Ditto to everything Wifeymomma said! I get on a rant when I talk about the monkey videos....they make me so angry. So I will just say these videos give me hope, and they restore my faith!

    Thank you Dave, and all the amazing volunteers, rescuing orphan baby monkeys and injured monkeys who would otherwise die without your help at the Vervet Monkey Foundation sanctuary in South Africa. The VMF channel is very entertaining, interesting, and educational. The videos help us understand wild monkeys, and the huge undertaking it is to rescue the monkeys from ignorant, mean, murderers. Keep up the good work, you are appreciated.
