I feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to live for nearly 35 years in many rural areas of the desert southwest. Currently, I am settled in the foothills of the Eastern Sierra Nevada, near the Inyo Mountains, right in the heart of the great Mojave Desert. From here, I have easy access to famous destinations such as Sequoia National Park, Yosemite, Death Valley, Grand Canyon, and the vast canyon lands of Nevada and Utah. Monument Valley, the Painted Desert, the Verde Valley, Arizona’s Sedona Range, and many other fascinating places are all within easy reach, just a short day trip away.
While making a living and raising a family in a remote, seasonal area is no small feat, the rewards are well worth it. In exchange for the clean air, fresh water, unspoiled nature, and relaxed pace of life of the people here, I feel a fuel before the job facing less crime, pollution, traffic and those trying to make urban life.
The diversity of the whole community between immigrants and international tourists has created a harmonious and rich picture. In these wonderful places, nature and beauty always dominate, the experience of life becomes more special and meaningful.

I am so blessed to have lived most my 70 years within many rural places of the desert southwest, currently at the base of the southern Eastern Sierra Nevada Range at the foot of the Inyo Mountains on the edge of the great Mojave Desert, being close to Sequoia National Park, Yosemite, Death Valley, The Grand Canyon with The Great Basin of Nevada & Utah's vast canyon lands, Monument Valley, The Painted Desert, Verde Valley, Sedona & The Arizona strip and so many other breath taking locations i have lived & all still within a leisurely days travel. Making a living and ends meet while raising a family in such remote & seasonal areas that depend on tourism was always difficult at best, but the trade off for clean air, fresh water, open space and being in a no hurry attitude of people, and a minimal of crime, pollution, traffic and the other trappings of civilization, this was well worth the struggle the cultural diversity of both indigenous peoples, combined with immigrants and international tourists alike makes for a well balanced human experience in these special places where nature and the beauty way always dominate reality.

Great job on this video, it really captured the beauty of America's National Parks! However, I can't help but feel that while the visuals are stunning, they often overshadow the real issues these parks face, like overcrowding and environmental concerns. It makes me wonder if we should be promoting them so heavily when they might need more conservation efforts instead. What do you all think?

I just want to offer a suggestion after reading an article in National Parks magazine about Yellowstone what we can do to protect the wildlife ..through possibly closing the parks for a summer here and there just so the wild animals can roam freely and not get hit by cars or disturbed in their daily living. Just a thought. Here is to preservation! :) Great video ..really enjoying the narration and the parks are just so beautiful, makes me want to head out west. We used to live in Boulder, CO ..now Asheville, NC which has a softer beauty.
