It's a pity that ones vast swathes of land are shrinking and those unique animals have no other option but to extinct. Thank you for raising our awareness of this pressing issue. I hope that there is still something that can be done to at best stop or at least slow this process.

That was a fruit bat, even narrator mentioned it by name "The parents drop by with an occasional food parcel, but a small fruit bat isn't much to get excited about". You could even see that they are red/pink underneath the fur as he rips it apart. In the later shots he's eating the rest of that bat, to be precise it's wings. As the best, most meaty parts were already eaten so chicks picks through whatever meat is left on that bat.

Re-learning about the devastating 90% loss of our island's rainforests break my heart. As someone who grew up in an area surrounded by mountains and thick forests, I witnessed how agriculture has turned the lush forests into dry and unsustainable farming lands for corn. I remember witnessing huge fires that will last for days, and hear chainsaw machines from afar, the sound of falling trees, and the ground rumbling because of huge trucks passing by carrying logs. The mountain which was green the first time I saw it, has slowly turned brown and lifeless as the years passed by. It has made a huge impact not just in the biological sphere in my town but also the typhoons that were hitting my area are more disastrous each year. Floods are reaching areas that are higher, landslides happen more often during rainy season, and droughts are causing the loss of a thousands if not millions of crops. It's devastating, and I think that one lifetime is not enough to restore what was lost due to human activity.

i grew up in the countryside in the south of France and still live there and i have seen the impact of global warming just through the diminution of snow in the winter, the way too early flowering of trees in late winter that then die because of the drastic drop in temperature. You really just have to live in the countryside for a while and you will see it disappear or get very dis regulated ( by the wrong temperatures in the wrong seasons like hot winters cold summers) by global warming and human interference. Its as you say devastating.

And the amazing out of this world shots they take, is just incredible.

Honestly it's a bit condescending to hear somebody like attenborough blame humans for all the devastation to plant and animal life, only to be taking plane flights all over the planet. It's almost like he's also a part of the problem.
He's getting a paycheck. Stop kissing up to someone who's hardly worthy of it. He's just as much a hypocrite as the people he's blaming during the video and he's incredibly rich. He probably has a much larger carbon footprint than people much less wealthy than he is.
Like his work and enjoy the content, but my god is it sad to see so many comments praising a dude who literally commentates over videos of animals, pointing fingers at everybody else when he is no better. It's no better than a liar calling out another liar for lying.

Did you know that sir David Attenborough used to be heavily criticised by other animal conservationists in the past because his documentaries were considered "too positive and not showing the effect humans have on the environment"? Like he presented isolated pockets of "pristine paradise" that did not show the full picture? Well, it seems he takes care to mention human impact in everything he does now. I hope it helps, though what can an average person do against the prime minister of Brazil or Indonesian authorities I have no idea. Give money to organisations that are supposed to do something to help the environment if you have some extra cash, I guess. And hope it isn't mismanaged.

We are all evil, bad people (sinners) who do not fit God's standard of holy. If God put a mirror in front of us, our wickedness would be exposed. There is a punishment for our disobedience towards God. Just like how a parent would punish their disobeying child... there is a punishment for our disobedience towards God. The punishment is eternal separation from Him. We would end up in hell. There was no hope for us. But instead of leaving His creation with no hope, God said He will make a way for His creation to be righteous before Him and that was through Jesus Christ. Sin had to be punished. So God sent His Son Jesus Christ to take the sins of the world upon Himself. Jesus took the punishment of sin on Himself yet,He was a sinless Man. But Jesus took our place -- He became your sins -- so that you would not have to pay the price of sin that you deserve to pay. That was our punishment. But God loved us so much that He sent Jesus Christ to take our place for us. To be reconciled to God and to be saved is to put your faith and rest on the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross--> Romans 10:9``If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
