    • @susanneanna2421
      @susanneanna2421 Год назад +2

      I think it is more about motherly instinct and not so much about intelligence.

    • @jenheasley9292
      @jenheasley9292 5 месяцев назад +1

      @susanneanna2421 They are intelligent due to the fact that they know if they want a baby they'll have to spend the time it takes for the babies to reach 3 months old locked in an intro cage, and still do it. But I also agree that maternal instinct is a high factor since they can't have babies of their own, except for the occasional Oops! 😂

    Five orphans!! I don’t know how you continue to manage- so stoically and never a complaint. I increased my monthly amount via Patreon and even though it’s not a huge amount to begin with, I am always blown away by how utterly humble and grateful the Foundation is with *any* donation. I also love how you can adjust the monthly amount so easily and you are never given guilt for it (just an FYI for anyone who is thinking about it). All of you are incredible and we so appreciate being included in your journey to love and rehabilitate these babies. Thank you and God bless!

    I’ve been checking out some channels that deal with monkeys in the Far-East and I could tell what few channels are really good because they give shout outs to “VMF” like Arroz Marisco and tells his viewers this is one of his channels that is outstanding, man has good taste and seen a few commentators saying the same as well as myself giving plugs to “VMF” saying to learn or support a station for primates that this is #1 to do so !!

      Christy, I think the Johannesburg Vets who sent the five young ones to VMF would have diapered them for the car-ride of over 250 miles. The fabric animal transport cage would stay a lot cleaner. Think I heard the humans saying that the Vets had four of them together for a while before before sending them on to VMF The youngsters would have learned that the tall hairless primates are a source of food and maybe even a hug when a little monkey needs one.

    When they play fight they do a kind of mock-bite where they don't bite down forcefully, it's like a trust exercise almost, by which they express and develop kinship (when it's a real fight you know immediately from the noise because the bitten screams instantly). I like watching them climb and everything but watching them play-fight is just as fascinating and enjoyable.

    What kind of horrible monster or monsters could stone a monkey that little let alone a monkey mom with her baby attached to her and stone her to death that is a long painful horrible way to die...i cannot imagine how that baby survived and mom did not...what person could do this? Why are no legal actions taken or the community or witnesses saying something? I know this is the poorest area of Africa and perhaps these monkeys do eat the only food they have to survive but there must be an alternative to murdering mother monkeys!

    At last A monkey channel that actually rescues monkeys instead of buying poached monkeys for youtube views, at first I enjoyed some of the videos these bad people made but the more you learn about monkeys and what those channels are and what they do to the poor monkeys on camera and off camera it sickens me and when they get too old for the larger views count they "returned to forest" and a good portion of those monkeys will be ripped apart by the troop, This channel is legit with all good intentions, I got slightly worried when I seen them in nappies and the bath time but its understandable they poop in the car otherwise and bath was needed to clean the poop from travel these other channels bath their monkeys nearly daily which is horrible, I wish I can volunteer some day with helping monkeys in need

    Of course, I have to say the job all of you do is amazing, and I know it has to put you through the emotional wringer.
    I do have a question. I've noticed the volunteers are very inconsistent about the ear sucking. Sometimes it's allowed and sometimes it's not. What are the guidelines with that, because I know it has to cause ear damage.

    They are so sweet. I know a lot of people here in the states have monkeys as a pet, Vevret, capuchin etc. They are very well taken care of but I think they should be free and not as pets wearing diapers and clothes. I hate the monkey channels (hong kong and all those YT channels) that have multiple babies taken from their mothers some right at birth and being abused and all it just makes me cry. I am trying to join up with other channels to try and get YT to stop monetizing them. Shutting them down doesn't work bc the just start up new ones. If you can give any suggestions please send them to me. I love your channel and the things you do for these babies

      @Sandie I only know of 2 channels who film in Hong Kong and neither of them interfere with the monkeys and certainly have never abused one. Do not include them in your opinion with those VOs in Cambodia. If you actually watched the Hong Kong channels, you would know they were caught in the fallout of You Tube actually finally de-monetizing the Cambodian channels. I was very worried that The Vervet Foundation would also get caught in the fallout and they need the money from these videos so badly. Since you ask for suggestions, I suggest you really watch a channel before going on another channel and badmouthing it.

      Long tail macaques Cambodian pet owners are the worst. i know they see them as vermin. On top of the fake story lines, instigating for monkeys to attack/fight each other or younger , manipulation of monkeys with food. They also like to release their pets when they get to old to handle and film them being attacked by troop that will not accept them. Without informing the viewers that this is their ex pet they pretend like they just happen to see a monkey in trouble and came to save the day. They are not too bright because they usually wear the same shoes or clothes and that’s how they het exposed. For some reason they also like to film releasing their pet they no longer want. So that’s how they get caught as well. Those Cambodians are very devious and sinister towards these monkeys.

    I love watching this channel and all you do to help them; however, I have to say that it defeats the purpose of giving a bath when they stink from dirty diapers as you said when you use the same dirty bath water for everyone of them. Your washing them in each others filth except for the first one. Clean gets clean dirty remains dirty, no use in giving a bath and traumatizing them if you cant take the little extra time to have some more clean water there to change it out for each one.

    I feel so bad for the babies and how the locals hate these monkeys. Since I'm in the US it's easy for me to say this but when I was a PHD student in Borneo working with the Orangutans they were treated the same and it's heartbreaking!

    I would pay good money for info on the person(s) who stoned the mom to death with them still holding the mom. How they didn't get killed as well is a miracle. I would LOVE to know who they are and where they are.
