Jeff Wadlow, don’t feature Jump if your film ends with them going in to record VH1. The opening bars of Running with the Devil will be a much better choice.
I just read Greg's post, very exciting...just a bit of my short history with VH and Greg knows: I provided the stage lighting for many of their gigs at several venues back in the days, that is until I heard "You Really Got Me" on the radio and that was the end of the ride, no worries, I remained friends and attended every tour that came through California. I have images of flyers of those gigs and it was an amazing time for rock and roll and I am glad I was there to not only witness it but to be an integral part of it. When Greg did the book launch/party gig in Pasadena I was truly honored to be asked to be a part of that so I brought in a bunch of lights and a good friend brought in a massive sound system to a club the band used to play often and we rocked the roof off the old Handlebars Saloon. So that's about all I'd like to contribute at this time but if it's at all possible I would love to be a part of the movie in some capacity. I am also an electrician of almost as long as I have been doing stage lighting so maybe in that role. Wait, maybe I could play myself 45 years ago but it would take an amazing makeup artist to achieve that. Anyway, best of luck bringing the book to the big screen and always remember; no brown M&Ms...
Gene signed them to a demo deal. They recorded The Zero Sessions at Electric Ladyland in NY. Eddie and Alex helped Gene record two demo songs that would later be on the Love Gun album; Christine Sixteen was one of them. Gene tried to get them signed to KISS's label, Casablanca. They said no, and KISS'S manager Bill Aucoin and Paul Stanley didn't want the competition and wanted Gene to concentrate on KISS. Before KISS left to tour for Love Gun in 1977, Gene tore up the VH contract, and told them to use the demo and get signed. Ted Templeman got them signed and produced the first 6 albums.
Please don’t. These films usually result in oddly stitched together reference points with sub-par actors in ridiculous wigs. Sometimes it’s better to just leave these amazing stories to the fans memories, what they’ve seen in documentaries or what they’ve read and experienced.
Not to mention the fact that this is a director whose past and current work reaches amateur levels at best; with not a single one of them garnering critical appraise, most if not all with the same flaws and judging from his many interviews, this one included, he seems not to care about the bad press nor care to take notes from it for any of his future projects. I highly doubt given his past in Hollywood that he will be getting this project, but then again, we'll just have to wait and see.
Not "Jump" as a climax point... please, don't. ATBL or On Fire or RWTD. Something off of that first album that your film will be leading up to. Best wishes to you Jeff.
A very key part of this movie should, and will be that Eugenia Van Halen was the one who cracked the whip and she is the original tiger mom opposite of Jan who was very laid back.
How about that scene you talking about is just like the music video for Eruption and you really got me at The Whiskey a GO Go. It makes sense. Replicate it b smart! Think about it...the slow motion shots your talking about are just like the ones in the music video. It's got everything 🙌
Do not play jump at that key point. In the movie hell, no, I'm running with the devil. Chords for sure grow brain. Dude, I'm behind you, but no f****** jump in this movie.
The brothers got Dave in the band because it was cheaper to have him sing rather than rent his p.a, which is what they did originally. You're gonna need to read everything on the band to get it right. The Hendrix biopic was a major disappointment. Glossed over drivel.
love your enthusiasm and you sound excited but your not the man for the job....Dont fuck up the legacy, stick to Kick Ass flicks...your script sounds typical and quite predictable...did Alex offer you any insights ????? cheers
Ending the movie right when they go into the recording studio is a terrible idea. That’s going to piss off a ton of fans. unless you plan on making a damn sequel lol.
If you liked this interview, please do not forget to like, subscribe and comment. Thank you!

Any film about VH better be good or the VH faithful will tear you to pieces.
Even if its great, we will scrutinize the hell out of it and find fault somehow.

When i read the book, It played like a movie in my head. The party’s, The Police busting the parties. It was awesome.

Dont cut to Jump at the end. It should be something off VH1. I would pick Running with the Devil.. or go way into the future and go with Dreams.
I would love to see this movie! Please, make it happen!
It’s great that the dude wants to make a movie about Van Halen but make sure the information is accurate.
Check out the book. Renoff got the story and he got it right
Greg Renoff is the man
I used to go to those backyard parties.
This would be epic!!!

Fast Times At Ridgemout High is pretty much what Van Halen was about early on.
Don't do jump at end...use something from VH1...but love the idea🍻
yesssss. David Lee Roth is best frontman of all time!!!
Not "Jump" as a climax point... please, don't. ATBL or On Fire or RWTD. Something off of that first album that your film will be leading up to. Best wishes to you Jeff.
Hope this gets made!!
I
CANT
WAIT !!!!❤❤❤❤❤

Yes we need a van halen biopic im ready if we are never getting a gnr or ozzy biopic then im all in for a van halen story
Alex will need to sign off on it. That can go either way

I guess we won’t get to see the moment when Dave accidentally jumped into the mirror ball
A punch from an angry boyfriend of a groupie seems more likely, considering Roth's popularity with the ladies.
SWEET JESUS!!
Can I play Eddie?
Do not play jump at that key point. In the movie hell, no, I'm running with the devil. Chords for sure grow brain. Dude, I'm behind you, but no f****** jump in this movie.

So this is actually going to be the Van Halen story or just using their story with a fictitious band?
I dont think he’d mention them by name if it wasn’t about them. Also,he’s full of shit about the Gene thing.
@@glengamble526 So the source of that Gene story (Renoff) is also full of it?
Describing that DLR has no talent is laughable to say the least
love your enthusiasm and you sound excited but your not the man for the job....Dont fuck up the legacy, stick to Kick Ass flicks...your script sounds typical and quite predictable...did Alex offer you any insights ????? cheers
Pleaseeee

Make it right and do the whole story even if it breaks down to 3 movies.
They didnt need him. They needed his P.A.
Exactly !!!
But without a lead singer, they wouldn't have really needed that PA.
must be factual!!!...and approved by the van halen original members... otherwise no...
I want to play alex van halen i can play drum s and i have the Same indo roots as Eddie and alex van halen
Hope he also shows what a creep Ed Van Halen really was.....
