The editing was jarring at times. An extra 20 mins of dialogue and smoother transitions would have elevated the film. I enjoyed all performances but the script could have been better.

I loved it. It done well to follow in the footsteps. I think it was carefully created with a lot of respect to the first film. I really enjoyed it, didn't really think there was enough of Pedro in it. His fall from demise happened incredibly fast and no doubt back in the days of this age it was probably faster. Soundtrack was fantastic. And I hope he goes on an makes little gladiators of his own. Was not a fan of the rhino tbh.. I didn't think any one could tame one.... Compared to the dribble Hollywood have threw a chum bucket at recently this has gave me a glimmer of hope that one or 2 directors still have the balls to create it's own idea.... Not just remakes.

Fair and agreeable review. For me it was just very average. It should have been filmed on 35mm, not an iPhone. They should have fetched in original scriptwriters, and Crowe as additional writer or input. Mescal was just what a farmer? Had a soldier wife, no kids. She was happy to fight. How woke and modern. So he wasn’t protecting his family or wife. She was happy to get stuck in and fight, and die honourably. So where was his arc? If she had been captured, injured then either taken as a slave, and his goal was to free n rescue?, or had a child and both taken as slaves, then he had a drive. Or had been killed in front of him, as only took slaves of value and a child, and injured woman of no value. That would have been dramatic. Also, they could have used dijimon honsou. Lucius taken away. Lucilla gives him to this character. Who returns to his home, raises Lucius. Trains him. Makes him a great fighter. And in the opening battle, he could die. Or taken as a slave, then killed as was freed, and took up arms against rome so awful death like crucified for treason, in front of Lucius, and then Lucius in a carriage in chains. This character on a cross, his wife and child in chains in other carriage. Then you have set it up as a revenge. So the whole beginning lacked all this. With cgi, crap music and then just well, average.

Overall this review is spot on, but I'd differ in the performance review. I thought Connie Nielsen was one of the worst performances in the film, and the two emperors were pretty fantastic - the few moments they weren't is more the weaknesses of the script and the story than the actors.

I used to be called on to straighten out organizational breakdowns. It turns out it is almost always a function of personal conflict, and that is mostly a product of ego. That conflict can generate great energy but that benefit it disproportionate to the detriment of the final goal. Usually only room for one very talented jerk on a team.

I think the kind of actor Robert was he was staying in character. His character didn’t like Hooper and I think he carried that on, I also think Robert did it because he saw that Richard was a good actor and knew that by doing that he’d get the best out of him for the film. There was definitely more to it in my opinion that Robert just not liking him. I think he did actually like him and wanted to push him to get the best out of both of them. I think the rumours are blown out of proportion too,and I think over the years it’s been said they didn’t like each other but I don’t believe that to be the case. In reality only Richard and Robert can truly answer that, everyone else is presuming.

This is a great representation of people who don’t get the source material (or don’t respect it) watching this movie. My gf and I watched it and I was almost disgusted by the movie, the ending, and how laughably slow the musical numbers made the movies (I am not apposed to musicals, just do them right.) watching this movie felt like teaching a kid to drive for the first time. Touching the gas when the story needed to move on but when they realized they might not have enough run time SLAM the breaks with a musical number that doesn’t better explain the situation or characters emotions. Then the plot, copy paste of the original, but Arthur’s the good guy now! WOW! That’s a cool concept if it wasn’t based on a psychotic maniac that is supposed to loose touch with his humanity. Say the movie it great all you want but if you go to a restaurant and order a steak and they give you a burger, you’d still be mad! Sure, the burger might still taste good but that wasn’t what was described on the menu. But calling back to my gf watching it with me, she liked it. She thought it had a great message. She did not, however, know the source material of what the audience was hoping for. She just saw another movie. And I’d agree with her, if I wasn’t lied to by the title. You want to make your own story? Make your own story and don’t piggy back off popular names and twist the story’s to make a steak into a hamburger. And for the whole “it’s in another timeline” when can you draw the line? Now it’s in another timeline where the joker won’t ever even see Batman? Sure he saw Bruce but not Batman. People like this man making this video are the reasons directors and writers make what we see today and touch themselves to reviews like this. “Yeah, I’m way smarter than you! You’re too dumb to understand it! HAHA” you can paint any picture you want, but whose fault is it at the end of the day when no one wants to look at it? The person holding the brush. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Poor click bait review. I went in open and wanting to like it despite the reviews. Noone critiques the acting, cinematography or set/costume. The backlash is that it's boring. There are too many songs, music pervaeds the whole film and it's mostly accapella singing rather than 5/6 punchy numbers that relate to what is going on. It's not that harley is different that's the problem it's just that she is so one note delusional that it's boring. The point that Arthur is overlooked is made very clear but then we don't actually get to dive into Arthur, that would have been good. And the end is dragged out hell even fleck can't take the singing .

  • @maineymonroe8225

I watched a 2 two hour movie where the main character was literally and figuratively dragged through the plot. Arthur made little to no decisions of his own and the ones he made were manipulated by someone else. I don’t understand what kind of argument Arthur, his lawyer or Lee was trying to make in court. For some reason Lee thought “being the joker” would let him walk out scott free. His lawyer was trying to prove he has a split personality, the joker, but she tried to stop him from wearing a red suit and clown makeup to court. I argue that would have definitely made him look insane. Arthur didn’t seem to have an opinion or strategy when defending himself, he just seemed to be happy with all the attention he’s getting. He’s not charismatic. He’s not smart, or witty, or cunning, or FUNNY whatsoever. The movie was so “gritty” and realistic that there is no less than 2 people smoking on screen at any given time. I walked out smelling like cigarettes.

Lets see theres over 5000000000000000000 comics of joker nd batman. This film pushes boundaries w signicance culturally? BS...So youre saying despite 500000000000000000000000000 scripts of joker fighting batman...he actually only met him once as a kid and then died? Yea...right...this movie is A WHOLE LOT of less than significant. So youre saying after all my life of hesring joker storys not even ONE thing happened batman vs joker and he just talked outloud about his dad? Thats it? Then he died? Ok screw u hollywood now u gunna pretend people keep copying him and his makeup after his death GET A GRIP ITS SHORT OF STUNNING YES! What is this person talking about it has 0 striking visuals? Not one good laugh? 😅

I loved it. The problem occurs when a film is too intelligent for it's audience. Most of the American audience has to be told if what they're viewing is good or not. They have no real ability to make their own decisions. They were told it was not good, so it isn't. Same as how they were brainwashed bullies during the plandemic because they were told to be. An idiot audience comprised of trash.
