Value for money, the 4age is the best engine out there. I am from South Africa and i build my little 77mm stroke and 81mm bore true 1600 for maybe R30 000 and had it on 1.6 bar boost om meth and it made 380 kw at the wheels... True value for money... 🎉🎉
Wow that's good power, if I may ask what rods did you use? I also did my 4agze through Arno Homan from ACH performance and developments in Kempston park.... Engine has been build for 499hp on 1.5bar boost... Limited with my ze conrods...

Why no compound turbo setup? It would avoid your surge and response problems without needing nitrous and that dump valve TB. If you had a primary (small) turbo running at a pressure ratio of 2.0 and a secondary (big) turbo running at a PR of 3.0, that would give you a total PR of 6.0 (you multiply the individual pressure ratios not add them as many people think). 6.0 should get you close to your horsepower goal. It is much easier to find turbos with efficient islands around a PR of 3.0. 6.0 is off the page for every compressor map I've ever looked at. You won't need 6.0 if you are going to spray it a lot, but most turbos will hit max turbine rpm before they get to 4.0, and you are already at 2.5. Respect for the power you are making on 2.5 though!
Not enough valvespring to cope with compounding pressure, the best valve spring you can get for this head is 60lb to 66lb seated, if I was a 16v compound would be a viable option
I love to see if the surge would improve with long 400mm+ intake runners, the engine could use at least 25% more air at 2500rpm, I have made 5 different manifolds the longer the better. I turboed my first 4ag in 1993.

I would have thought the 4age engine wouldnt of had a problem with turbo Surge since the evo 4g63 motor never had this problem....or a ej20 motor.....i thought the 4age would be better motor then ej20 and 4g63

I’ve seen a pretty hectic ae95 wagon with celica gearbox and front diff/transfer case running 4age turbo Launches like a golf r, I’d like to do something similar one day
Why on everything? Surge= you are spooled too soon with big turbo/little motor. You don't need bleed valves, just larger tubine a/r. Why the 4 door POS car? 4age in 4 door POS car? For the money, a stock BMW would murder this car for less money while being daily driveable. People get caught up in engines like it's the only engine that will work. You win and most money spent for the least gained.

Wow I was born in 89 😅 , we have still yet to setup the nitrous for boost response so we will see how that pans out

Crackup how a 4ag can make that power on 22psi. Theres Alot of other engines out there that would struggle to do that lol.

3076gtx garret geniune also has custom work like gaplessring and ceramic ballbearings, old tech compared to today's turbos

The 4age is almost 25% smaller in cubic inch compared to the 2.0 4g63 and ej20 so I guess it's just different engine aswel in alot of ways

You can do a dsg box awd conversion but it's not cheap
