Great video. I love hearing people's real world experiences with engine swaps.

All those motor swaps are good learning... and now if someone searches 7a they will hopefully not do it! They were terrible 20 years ago and they aren't much better today.

@Garage_Dori I'm going to do a video on how difficult they are but yes stupid idea 😆

Ehhhhh it’s an old school jdm type of build not for the many that’s for sure. But sooooo good when done right. People complain it’s “difficult” but any real swap is. I like the idea of building the entire motor rather than just going to my local importer and buying a used motor. Then if you throw some itbs😮‍💨😮‍💨
If there’s any doubters still go check out Taka Aono’s 11k RPM 7age. 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

Hearing This beggars belief going up 200cc N/A multiple times trying to get more power and the welding in mounts to fit a whole different engine only to hear hes had a turbo 4age before all this even began is the icing on the cake for me 4ages can be built 600-1000hp these days no need to bin them for anything

in American figures ... it is still 174 hp @ 6000 rpm ... you bogan.
We use horsepower and lb-ft; so yeah, you'd have to convert kilowatts and Newton meters as we tend to not use those numbers.
thanks for the video; I hope to find one of these in the next year or so; can't help but plan out things ahead of time I want to poke at.
More mid-range power is what I would chase personally. If I want high rpm fun, naturally aspirated rotaries. If I want off idle torque, American V8.
I want a small nimble car that has no issues getting to interstate merging speeds on short onramps (up to 85 mph traffic flow in what feels like 100 yards or so on some I swear); and downshifting and passing someone going 5-10 under or something.
My ideas were just some tlc to the engine and see what improvements on SC tech has happened over the last 40 years. No desire for a turbo atm.
Thanks for sharing your journey, greatly appreciated.

What size wheels and tyres are you using? I have some woodsport arches to fit and would love some that fit and look as good as yours 👍

Running 195 50 15 on the front and running 245 40 15 om the rear. Believe they are 7j and 9j wheels. 👍

7age is such a underestimated swap. Anyone that says don’t do it doesn’t have the patience for it😂
Cleeeeearly if you’re going for power then that’s not your swap.. but throw some ITB and forged pistons and you’ll have a sweet ride. 3s is super played out. Go 2gr.
    Go RUclips Taka Aono’s 7age 11K RPM Corolla🤌🏻🫡
