Damien did a great job setting up the situation and explaining very well putting on a PM hat. In practice, engineers work closely with designers both in UX research and development designs, resulting in avoiding late stage conflicts. Further, designers become aware of easier implementations and engineers become aware of user preferred designs upfront. Moreover, the product manager is no longer playing the middle-person between developers and designers. This is a good interview, but not necessarily reflective of reality.
The answer for failure for a team failure, it was not the PMs failure so I don't think it was a good story to tell. Also, there were hardly any learnings from the failure that the PM called out. In these questions the more important part is the learning and how do those learnings help you become a better PM.

Pseudo round buttons!, really? 😂
Exactly my thought 😂
Wow looks like such a lousy example of conflict. Otherwise overall good interview
what about the conflict example did you find lousy?
@@hasnainmamdani4534 only sprint-level scope ... and conflict over rounded corners? terrible example.
