"That person who helps others simply because it should or must be done, and because it is the right thing to do, is indeed without a doubt, a real SUPERHERO." - Stan Lee(1922-2018)
Alex: calls out the movie for not having a Tom Cruise/Top Gun cameo Also Alex: totally breezes past the fact that the cat/flerkin's name is Goose Seriously, though, I always love your reactions! They're hilarious! Keep up the good work, and I can't wait to see your Endgame reaction!!!
2:09 she actually IS a bit like Wanda…kind of. While Wanda was already a witch before anything else happened, both she and Carol derive their true powers from extreme exposure to an infinity stone; Wanda from the scepter/mind stone and carol from the tesseract/space stone.
Huh... I never realized the energy core Dr. Lawson made utilized the power of the Tesseract and inadvertently became the source of Captain Marvel's power.
22:55 Remember Alex, the Kree we're the bad guys in Guardians of the Galaxy. Ronan from that movie is the one that they were reporting to earlier in the holographic message. Their ships are the same ones that were seen in that movie on Xandar trying to destroy the capital.
I feel like this was a tie back that could have changed his opinion on the movie not connecting to the rest of the universe. I really hope he saw this comment.
It's almost impossible to compare the power levels of the most powerful Marvel characters. They basically have no ceiling and are as powerful as the writers need them to be in the moment.
That is true, but that being said Captain Marvel is the strongest. She is so powerful that having the rest of the Avengers around is a waste of time. They literally had to invent reasons why she is not there just to make Endgame have stakes. She could have just destroyed all the ship before anyone got off. Also, Fury for whatever reason decided that Earth being invaded was not a good enough reason to call on her. It is almost as if they just wanted her there despite it breaking all the lore. That level of writing is unfortunately all the writing for the MCU now. No consideration for what makes sense.
It's the Superman approach. At one interview with the DC writing team someone asked how powerful Superman is and the answer was "Superman is as strong as the story needs him to be" and I absolutely DESPISE that stuff. It's the most lazy way of doing it. Having a framework of how things should work is good bc it forces writers to think creatively.
@@lawlietriver8869 In comics (obviously it's various but overall) max powered Thor is somewhat on a level of ultimate beings in the universe (it's confusing; the point is he often thrown against THE strongest, when you question if they really exist). Hulk is comparable as he often thrown against Thor (they tend to destroy planets while fighting). Captain Marvel (evil version) beat max powered Thor recently but a lot of people thought it was cheesy, stretched and forced (one sided boring fight). In MCU Hulk is heavily nerfed, Thanos without a Gauntlet beats him like nothing. Thor is heavily nerfed, his maxed out version is the same as normal one but with sparkles. Captain Marvel looks nerfed but she is probably on a level of a Superman (or Chuck Norris jokes) but without some cryptonite weakness or properly established motivation... no wonder she is not popular. Also Scarlet Witch beat Captain Marvel from a different dimension (and Proff X in a mind control, and... this was a stupid fight, alright?)... yeah, it's whatever writters decide.
Stan Lee passed away not long before Captain Marvel released, hence all the cameos in the Marvel logo at the start. It was also the last cameo he shot (Endgame was filmed before Captain Marvel). The flashbacks in the movie were in 1989 and the main movie is set in 1995. Chronologically its well after Capt. America and 13yrs earlier than Iron Man (Hulk is a little later, set at the same time as Iron Man 2) Also, a Flerken is a cat looking species and their bodies hold numerous pocket realities, bubbles of space and time that exist in other worlds. So when Goose (called Chewie in the comics btw - Carol is a huge Star Wars nerd) 'swallows the tesseract and the kree, they go into those pocket realities.
Remember how at the end of Iron Man in that post credit scene Fury told Stark that he wasn't the only superhero? This movie shows where he got that perception from.
Helpful info on the Flerkin. A Flerkin is a feline life form that houses within it's body an entire universe so pretty much anything can go in or come out of one. That's why the two (Skrul and Kree) react to it. They know on a whim the entirety of this universe can be completely (to use your word) gooched up by one of them.
The best way I can describe this movie is that it feels like a Phase 1 movie that happened to come out during the most hyped time in MCU history. If it came out years before, it might have had a different reaction.
Meh. Green Lantern was way earlier, and they're on par quality wise. If anything it only did as well as it did because the MCU was at maximum popularity.
It's incredibly sloppy. Stan is rehearsing his Peter Parker speech. If Mallrats (1995) is in the MCU then Stan Lee has been writing Spider-man since at least the 90's. Maybe 30 years before Homecoming. Plus the dozens of other characters he created, unless he made Spider-man only and got the role as himself in Mallrats without Marvel Comics.
@@nickwiederhold I do realize that. And I realize it's part of the degradation of MCU coherence. According to Captain Marvel film, this is cannon in the mcu in 1994/1995: ""You know, it reminds me of an issue of Spider-Man I did, when Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy went lingerie shopping. Of course, the Green Goblin showed up and he pumpkin-bombed the hell out of the place. But aside from that, it's pretty much the same thing." There were spider-man comics decades before the events of Homecoming. Spider-man is mentioned in a film shown across the USA in movie theaters decades before Homecoming. Before going into all of the other characters and storylines this raises questions about.

Captain Marvel was the original name of who Billy Batson became when he said "Shazam". But they were sued by Superman, lost, and went out of business. During this time, Marvel Comics decided to grab the dormant Captain Marvel name. And DC Comics acquired the rights to the character once known as Captain Marvel but without the name.
Sam Jackson adlibbed checking out the alien junk under the sheet. Flerkins have extra dimensional pocket spaces in their stomach, that's why they can eat pretty much everything. The skrull drinking from the fast food soda using a straw is a nod to both Resevoir Dogs (exact same cup style used) and Sam Jackson in Pulp Fiction when Jules drinks the Sprite from Big Kahuna Burgers... btw they make a tasty burger lol
Yeah, the lack of characterization for Carol is one of the big things for me, the plot works well enough but she really just fills out a roll in the story which is strange for a main character. Her powers where also a problem for me, I think it would be far cooler if her powers were set up like Deku in My Hero Academia where the power takes a toll on her body and she's learning how to use it properly
The Hero's Journey is different from the Heroine's Journey in narrative structure. This is closer to the OG Superman origins than to a Harry Potter style rise to self awareness. Danvers' antagonists are much more societal/environmental than personal. Her power struggle is likewise about her relationship to the wider world and less with personal development. She is the Top Bad Ass Bitch that answers to her own moral compass because she can, motherfucker. That is her 'right' established by the lore here: strength and power in a struggle against aggression by employing aggression. She doesn't need to come into self control: she IS control. Her struggle is to realize she doesn't need to answer to the people who think she should learn self control according to THEIR standards... which are weak a.f. in comparison so why should she?
@@MercenaryMuse The Heroine's Journey is also harder to pull off, it demands writers that know what they're doing with their interesting character. Carol isn't interesting anymore and her powerset does not lean towards the Heroine's Journey in the slightest. Back when she was Ms. Marvel she went through the Hero's journey instead because it made more sense. She gets her powers out of nowhere from some guy and now the powers are just her problem. The movie would have been more interesting if they had given her the origin story she had in Earth Mightiest Hero's. Hell they could have done both the Hero's and the Heroine's Journeys and made her way more interesting than she ended up being. But then again, they would actually need to write her in with a personality and characteristics in mind. This is something comics can't do anymore for most of their characters, let alone the female ones. It's a real shame but I guess it is what it is.
@@SuperDababy2 I just love that th original comment is from 1 year ago, the original response to that comment is from 1 month ago and your comment is from 1 week ago. Its like yall are talking through time. Its also cool that people still care about this topic 1 year later. Also you made some great points about heroine's vs hero's journey.
I don't mind it since we see some of Brie's personality peak through in a few moments - it makes sense for the plot for her to be somewhat of a blank slate. It isn't like Man of Steel where Clark feels unbelievably under written and undercharacterized. Carol is at least a pro-active character lol
It's not really a bad movie, I look at Brie Larson's performance as she basically been taught, since her amnesia is so bad, that as a Kree not to let her emotions get in the way. So, that wooden performance is on purpose, I mean look at Ronin in Guardians of the Galaxy.
Amnesia Danvers only knows the life of a soldier so its really unfair to compair her to a normal girl. Brie on the other hand...it was deffinately on this movie was hated.
I feel like this movie is sort of like Avengers: Age of Ultron, and also Thor: The Dark World, in that they all were viewed less positively when they came out but actually contributed a lot in terms of world building. - The Kree are the same group that were chasing the Guardians of the Galaxy in the first GotG, tying that together - There is an upcoming Disney+ series, "Secret Invasion" with Nick Fury which is all about the Skrulls - The Rambeaus (Maria and Monica) both show up in later shows and movies - Tesseract, Nick's eye, the name "avengers", etc. In terms of lack of character development, in some ways because of her story, that IS her development: she doesn't know who she is and is getting pieces slowly, mostly told to her from her friends, so there's a challenge there in how do you portray a character that barely knows themselves? I think some of the hate that Bree got over her performance neglected to realize that. Cheers
Thank you for taking the time to write all of this out for us. I, for one, really appreciate it. I think this was a really good movie in many ways. I also think that it was disliked a lot because people felt it was pushing a political agenda. Maybe it was. But I still enjoyed the movie.
Nick's eye ruined the character a bit for me. This is an unnecessary side quest for the tesseract. The Avengers name didn't need to be explained plus in the comics her call sign was cheeseburger. every pilot in the air force I know. their call sign is a joke and embarrassing. As for the character of Carol learning about herself. a good way to show that is to have the old personality bleed through.
I don't think any of that world building was huge and still didn't make the movies any better though... I like Age of Ultron anyway and it possibly did have a bunch of important set up for later stuff, but while I would still recommend watching the other two for the full experience, You could maybe cancel them out with a few seconds of exposition text... I don't know... The amnesia thing was a complete sideways move though... We don't even get a big sense of her past, she barely seems to change much between before amnesia, getting amnesia or after piecing things back together... If it had changed anything really, then I might consider it development, but it didn't really... It was more or less something invented for the movie too, so it's not like the amnesia needed to be in there anyway.... They focused on writing the story and not the character... Slightly hypocritical for them to moan about diversity too, but then skip over Monica as the Captain Marvel before Carol... Making the black girl look up to the white one and everything, even though she should be senior... They skip over Carol as Ms. Marvel too... Bit weird, given that the newer Ms. Marvel seemed to copy her logo from that costume... Oh well, I guess that's not so important... I don't know, but I think the amnesia, or at least how they handled it, was one of the biggest issues with the film... It's like they put it in specifically to have a not particularly great twist... The results of removing it make it a bit more of a basic superhero origin story, but I think it'd potentially work way better for the character... Oh well...
im shocked he didnt notice it wasnt just about the kree but it was ronan appearing again. He was the literal villain in guardians searching for the stone.
My excitement for your reaction for Avengers: Endgame is unbearable. I can't wait for next Monday. There is going to be so many emotions for Avengers: Endgame.
My biggest problem with this movie is that they set it 3 years too early to use Intergalactic by The Beastie Boys in it. The movie's set in '95, and the song came out in '98
Actually that is what many complained about Brie's acting, not smiling enough etc, BUT she played the comics version very well as that's how she is written. Not all women have that same "appealing" hollywood persona, but in real life there are plenty of people that are your typical pleasing character, so I really enjoyed her performance a lot. Great reaction, can't wait for your Endgame one next
It's always so odd to me when ppl complain she's not expressive and doesn't smile but they completely ignore how all of her life she has been told to hide her emotion and not be emotional because she's weak if she does it. We literally see her being told to smile by an a**hole which is something common irl- fans doing the same and not seeing the irony is so odd. Which i must say is something that a lot of women experience, especially in male dominant fields... Cue all of the misogyny we see from her past in the military. She has been taught to not express her emotions. Also, personally, i saw a lot of emotion in her acting, it was just really subtle. I really enjoyed her performance in this movie, Brie is perfect as Carol
IM A HUGE Comic Captain Marvel fan, IN GENERAL. Meaning the mantle. I LOVE Genis the most, i LOVE monica rambeau and Marv-El and when shes written right, carol. THIS IS NOT AN ACCURATE PORTRAYAL OF CAROL DANVERS! NOT even close my dude. No. not even close
@@jonathansoko1085 RDJ wasn't an accurate portrayal of Tony Stark either. Inaccuracy isn't the defining factor of whether or not an adaptation is good or not, so long as they don't lose the core themes and aspects of the character.
@@oriyanbarnes You're lying. Women do not experience this sort of behaviour "all the time" and claiming that they do is an insult to all civilized men. She's not a talented actress, she has two facial expressions, total. She REEKS of "I'm better than you because I'm just better" energy. So off putting.
I love that Alex forgets so much about the universe even though he's watching them so close together. I don't know if he's just trying to make jokes too much to pick up on things or if he's just not observant of things, but completely missing that Ronan the Accuser was the same Ronan who went after the GotG in the first movie and that ENTIRE tie in is crazy to me. Not Marvel's finest hour but certainly not a bad movie. The effects are top tier (especially the de-aging... holy shit) and the 90s vibe was cool. Unexpected Ronan cameo, origin of the lost eye, plenty of easter eggs for comic readers and over a billion in box office.

Wanda is far more powerful than Captain Marvel and most of the other superheroes. The Kree don't have powers, they have technology. They didn't just "give her all the ability" for this movie, she is fairly comic book accurate. Also people who criticise Captain Marvel as a "Mary Sue" have no understanding of the multiverse or the fact that characters constantly change and diversify in the comic book universe. People who hate this movie, don't understand the nuances that makes it so good.
Yes, Brie and Samuel have good chemistry. Someone wrote in the comments on another reaction video of this movie that the two are friends in real life. In the comics, the Skrulls had their own empire, and they're the bad guys. I grew up reading the comics starting in the 1970's, but quite after the Age of Apocalypse in the X-Men comics, so I'm out of touch on what they've been doing since then. But this is the MCU, so things are different. I prefer Carol Danvers as Ms Marvel, but that's what I grew up with. She's changed so much over the years in the comics, becoming Binary, Warbird, and Captain Marvel. Great reactions!
captain marvel wasn't just given every ability for the movie, that's how she was written in the comics. she's more than capable to lift up to 500,000 pounds and do ALOT of damage.
There were so many problems with this movie but first and foremost was the writing. There were multiple writers for this film and it felt like none of them watched any of the previous MCU movies in order to keep continuity. Danvers' powers (according to the movie) came from the Tesseract (Space Stone) but the Space Stone power is instant teleportation. She exhibits powers that would come from the Power Stone (manipulate energy/increased strength). The Tesseract itself, we saw it in the movie Captain America: The First Avenger and witnessed it dropped onto the metal floor of a plane and watched it eat through that to fall into the ocean. Yet here, not only does a tin lunch box hold it just fine, at the end we see the cat barf it out onto a wooden desk without any damage to the desk. Then there's the entire Kree/Skrull conflict. Totally screwed that up to oblivion. So many other issues I could go on about but my personal anger is for a couple of things. First, like you, I was pissed seeing that this... THIS is how Fury lost his eye. In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Fury makes it known that the last time he trusted someone, he lost an eye. Making it seem like it was some horrible betrayal by a fellow agent/soldier/friend. We see him reveal the scarred eye in that dramatic scene when he confronts Director Pierce and that scene was so intense! We know Fury's a spy and he'll use whatever means necessary to get the job done. But to see this pathetic scene of how he lost his eye really pissed me off. It ruined so much mystique about the man. Then there's the revelation of how the Avengers got their name. Absolutely ridiculous and infuriating. The writers just made Marvel way overpowered. So much so that you never felt she was in any real danger. It's the Superman curse. I found myself not really caring about her character. The movie relied way too much on nostalgia with the music, tshirts, etc. We get it. It was set in the '90s. Larson's acting was just bad. That was disappointing, especially seeing her in the film, Room. Her vocal fry had me gritting my teeth most of the movie. I was glad to watch your reaction to the movie, but I can definitely say I'll never watch the movie again. Once was enough.
28:10 ooof. That hurt my feelings 🤣 One of the best things about this movie is Goose and the 90s music. I had hoped that you would comment on it but not like that lol!!
The scene where Talos is drinking a soft drink with a straw is a homage to Sammy Jackson in Pulp Fiction. The scene that is paying homage to is when Sam Jackson has some of the Big Kahuna Burger and then asks the guy if he can have a sip of his tasty beverage.
I don't care what anyone else says I actually liked this film and have seen it quite a few times. Btw am I right in thinking that Alex didn't know Come as You Are by Nirvana?
Interesting that you compared her to Wanda since they both got their powers from an Infinity Stone so definitely two of the strongest Avengers. Can't wait for next week to see Endgame, it's all been leading up to this!
Love ur takes on this movie. I also enjoyed it and find it actually weirdly gets better every rewatch. I also see what you’re saying about Brie’s performance, but i honestly feel like that’s a major director’s issue. The writers clearly were trying to say she was emotional, but it feels like the directors told Brie to behave more like a stoic aviator, so imo sometimes the writing and direction clash in that way.
@@joce-in-stitches fair enough! I’ve just seen Brie do amazing face acting in movies like Room, so I guess i just was hoping for something a little more of that calibre but that’s just my opinion
My issues are with the writing and the directing. I didn't subtract any points for Brie's performance. Whatever issues came from her is minor at most IMO. She had one notably well acted scene where she hugged her friend. With that said, I thought Samuel Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, and Jude Law gave overall great performances with what they were given to do.
@@jimlight5137 Holy jeebus, someone who actually gets it! I've been saying this since the movie released. Until such time as she is shown/discovered that she isn't in fact a Kree and to not let emotions into her life essentially, she doesn't, except you can see it in her eyes every time. Once she discovers that she's human, and to actually embrace her emotions, they are there for the world to see. I mean, she whoops in joy when she discovers she can fly for crying out loud! Once she breaks out of the Supreme Intelligence, she's like a different person - which in a way she is.
Wait? People HATE this? I absolutely loved this movie... especially as I had my formative years through the 90s so got all the nostalgia plus the soundtrack is DOPE and it has the best Stan Lee cameo of all the movies
People hated it before it came out. Brie Larson said some feminist stuff and people started hating her and the movie just because. It was really stupid. I like this movie. There are better movies in the mcu but also a lot that are worse.
@@Grimlock1979 fair point, don't disagree... it's funny coz watching this and Alex is absolutely invested, so many twists and turns and he can't keep up with it, can't be bad if that's the case! Haha
i wasn't a big fan, didn't know about the 'hate' before seeing it but I felt it was way too hard pushed for the grl power aspect (I mean, come on, the 90s had way better songs, they just picked ones with girl singers). it was just... too much. IMO of course (as a girl)
I don't know if anyone has said it already but Brie Larson is amazing in "Room" and she won an Oscar for it. She might not be great at social media or interviews - but she is an incredible actress. "Room" is one of the most difficult and horrifying, but eventually life-affirming films ever.
I was just about to say the same. She’s amazing in that movie. Even the kid who played her son is an awesome actor. His role in DoctorSleep (even though it was a small one), was so good… very chilling and painful, but outstanding.
@@DerekScottBland Please, just please, little lefty media buzzword buddy, please watch the interview with her, Hemsworth and Cheadle. The problem with this move is not the acting. It's the script; it's the writing. Carol Danvers has many character traits in this movie - courage, impulsiveness, arrogance, determination, [EDIT: and a massive pain in the ass]. The problem is the plot has her not remembering any of that. We don't get a character study. The storyline is disjointed moving around in time by way of her memory. There's also no scene early on that makes you like the character. This is called the Save the Cat Scene. There's such a scene in nearly every introduction to a new hero. Instead, we see her being gaslit by Yon-Rogg but we don't even know that that's what is happening. We think she can't control her emotions. We don't yet know that her power comes from her emotions. The writing was not great. Acting cannot carry a movie if the script isn't good. EDIT: The entire structure of the movie is flawed.
Absolutely agree. I love Marvel movies, but this was an extraordinarily busy script and not enough time was devoted to Carol "becoming" the end product, Captain Marvel. If you think about it, she actually has a few really endearing moments in the film, but they tend to get lost in the frantic shuffle. Shame really... she's very believable as both amnesiac Vers and restored Carol/Marvel. It's the link between the two, the "hero's journey" that's missing. It makes the whole thing feel a bit contrived and she seems way too powerful all of a sudden. Not the worst MCU film, but def not the best either.
Fantastic analysis. I agree with your assessment of the writing. One way you can tell how accurate it is, is just in watching the movie a second time. The first run through, I responded to it like Alex did -- really fun movie, but something was off. When I watched it a second time, I suddenly REALLY enjoyed Brie Larson's performance and the character of Marvel. By the second watch through, I knew she was being gas-lit, and I was able to notice all the really good, subtle things the actor did with the role. It wasn't a terrible script, but it wasn't as strong as many of the other MCU films.
I wouldn't even necessarily consider emotion to be powering her, just that they suppressed her both in emotions and power as much as they could... It's just that she then stopped trying to limit both at the same time... Although maybe it was meant to mean that and I just thought it was so poorly shown lol.
I'll start by saying Carol Danvers (through her many iterations; Ms Marvel, Binary, Warbird, Ms Marvel again and Captain Marvel) is my favourite hero. As much as I loved this movie for what it got right about the character (you named several), I will also admit that the movie wasn't the best written or directed thing out there, it has flaws. It did not introduce the character in the best way and the structure of the movie could also have been better.
@@KitsyX The chip on her neck was quite literally a power inhibitor. I don't think the Kree had any idea of just how powerful she could be, just that they wanted to control both her and her power. Her power comes for what she absorbed from the explosion of the experimental engine, but she also can absorb energy around her - when the ships lights and other powered systems start blinking out while she's in fighting the supreme intelligence, when she gets hit by a couple of shots in the battle against the kree fighters in space - it's her body absorbing the energy that increases her power.
While I definitely think the writing's awkward in places, and she could've added some more panache in her performance, I do also feel like her main character arc is about overcoming years of brainwashing and gaslighting, and realizing that the whole "control your emotions" thing from Jude law is not a good lesson: it's an act of manipulation and control. So, I think the brainwashing is the reason she's so stiff and unemotional for much of the movie - because she needs time to realize that deeper emotions aren't weakness, and that she doesn't need to always tie them down in order to be powerful or effective. Only after that can she start accepting that the Kree don't have the right to dictate how she uses her own power (because they didn't give it to her in the first place).
Yeah, I'm actually quite disappointed that so few people 'get' this. I thought it was really straightforward and blunt, yet everyone's giving her the 'you should smile more' treatment. It's like the laughing scene in Final Fantasy X or the emo Peter Parker scene in Spider-Man 3...it's supposed to be cringy. THAT IS THE POINT. Ah well.
Not only that, but she was a fighter pilot - people who are specifically chosen because they don't lose their heads and stay cool and calm under pressure. Everything about her background is supposed to set her up to be, well... flat.
It all makes sense to me... My issue with it is that it doesn't execute it well and create a strong and consistent character for the character... She ends up being bland "Strong Woman" or, in another sense, a very basic superhero, like Superman if you take out the Clark Kent aspect... It's probably both... Brie's performance makes sense and doesn't seem bad to me, but the story doesn't really allow her to put in a grabbing performance... I do think people hate on the film too much, maybe hate on Larson too much as well (I mean she seems a bit of a self-righteous jerk in some ways, but talking specifically about the performance), but yeah... It's an oddity in the MCU, given that almost every other movie has a strong character at the centre (strong in sense of character, not strength)... The other MCU films until this point, no matter how uninteresting the story might be or anything else... You can pretty much guarantee that the main character will carry it and make it somewhat enjoyable... In this case, the story wasn't bad, it was pretty interesting... Fury was great amongst other things... But it made it hard to care about Carol... Which might be partly because the character she's based on isn't great either lol. Oh well...
The Kree Captain Mar-Vell (AKA Lawson) was originally a man in the comics. Carol Danvers gains powers from an incident with Kree technology involving Mar-Vell and gains powers, becoming Ms. Marvel. Eventually, Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell) dies of cancer, and eventually Carol Danvers takes over his mantle as Captain Marvel. Kamala Khan, Carol's teenage fangirl, eventually gains powers, and in doing so assumes Carol's former title as Ms. Marvel.

Fun fact: In the comics the Skrull planet was not destroyed by the Kree it was destroyed by Earth. A group of Skrulls (not the entire species) tried to invade Earth and we destroyed their planet in retaliation. Because of this humans have a bad reputation in the galaxy.
There's only one MCU movie my wife ever asked if I was buying it on blu-ray the moment we walked out of the theater, and this is it. She went with me to see every one of them since Iron Man, and it's just this one. I had bought around 60 percent of MCU movies on blu-ray on their day of release, and already knew I wanted to buy it, so she was very happy about that. That's all I'll say about this movie.
Real big MCU connection that you appeared to have missed. Maralyn Manson looking dude was Ronan from the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie. You aren't the only one to have issues with Bree's acting in this one, but I believe it was a directing choice, not on Bree. She was being manipulated into holding everything in by the Kree to help them control her and even when she broke that bond, the training is still there. And no, chronologically this wasn't first. Captain America the first Avenger was first. Now go slap yourself! That all said, Alex you are a lot of fun to watch! I hope you continue on to the Disney+ series when you get through the movies.
So ready to watch you finally get to see Endgame. Everything you've seen so far is leading up to your next movie. Don't know if you've seen it yet and are editing, but really hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoy your reactions. Stay well, Mr. Goochman
I was just on a transatlantic flight and to kill time I watched Scott Pilgrim (first time) - and there was Captain Marvel and Captain America. "hmmm" I went. Anyway, I enjoyed this movie and I'd never heard of Brie before, but I figured her attitude was a combination of military strictness and Kree programming. Also people freaked out about her power levels - she has infinity space stone powers. Wanda has infinity mind stone powers but nobody rants on that. There were a lot of tears in the theatre I was in when the Stan Lee titles ran. Always bring tissues to Marvel just in case.
You're one of the few people I've seen really grasp the reason for the attitude. I've known several vets from the Air Force and most of them have that vibe. I've also been told that it was worse during when this movie was set, and you pretty much had to be this way or the men around you wouldn't take you serious.
Her powers were gained from the Space Stone which should've given her instant teleportation. Instead, she gained the powers that would come from the Power Stone (energy manipulation/enhanced strength). One example of the shoddy writing.
That always annoyed me. The Kree literally taught her to not get emotional…yet people criticized her for being stoic and blamed it on Brie’s acting. They literally missed the whole point of that and went straight to the hate, smh 🙄
The lack of juxtaposition between her "being raised to control her emotions", and simultaneously being "unable to control her emotions" makes the premise fail horrendously. Not only is she generally wooden "because she was raised to control her emotions", but because she fails to *be* emotional when she's supposedly losing control of them. People felt gaslit by the side characters while watching, as the antagonistic characters repeatedly told the most monotone MC with the most mundane personality that they were "being too emotional."
@@stevendorsey4850 nail on the head. shes trained to not be emotional but, the plot expects us to believe it's a core failing in the eyes of the kree that she can't actually do that and is in fact very emotional. the whole point is she was never any good at controlling them and constantly was criticised for it.
33:58 because, you know, "the strongest" option is usually either a "very-hard-to-mass-produce" option or "very costly" option. If you can take an enemy out using a cheap missle, why you should waste a more expensive one.
Honestly I'm so excited to see the amount of goosebumps endgame gives you like it did me and the entire audience opening night. Hope you and the Mrs are having a dope ass day ☺️👍
The pager isn't the only tie in, the Kree were in Guardians 1 specifically Ronan the Accuser who is killed by the GotG. I think Wanda edges out Captain Marvel because she can literally alter reality.
It’s the 90’s. I gotta tell ya, as a formal independant Radioshack employee, when I saw the Radioshack in this movie I busted up laughing knowing what happened to the company
All right, I've thought about this a lot. What makes other Marvel Movies better than Captain Marvel, why don't I like Captain Marvel? It would be easy to disregard arguments against this movie as misogynistic or anti-feminist, but there are fair criticisms that should be thought about. So here's my idea, Captain Marvel and Captain America have very similar story arcs, so why not compare them to see why one works while the other doesn't? Both of these characters are static characters in a dynamic world. Meaning, Captain America doesn't truly change, the world around him does, and he has to choose whether or not he will remain steady in his beliefs (Winter Soldier, Civil War as examples). Captain Marvel is the same, she is the same person throughout this movie, Carol Danvers does not change, her world does. She believes that she is a hero, while she's really working for the villains, so what will she choose? Obviously, she becomes the hero, but this choice falls flat, why? Here is where Steve Rogers is important, his character is a natural rule follower, a regular stand up guy, and in the First Avenger he becomes the hero by following the rules. But in the subsequent movies he remains a hero by breaking them, this is how his character develops. He has to choose between his moral beliefs (rule following and doing what's right). Carol Danvers does not develop in this formula, why? Because she is already a rebellious, sarcastic rulebreaker. She would have always chose the Skrulls, whereas Steve Roger's might not have questioned S.H.I.E.L.D.'s intentions in Winter Soldier. This is why Carol Danvers as a character is broken, she can't grow. As a rule breaker, it would be character development to follow the rules as she grows to understand that they are good for her. Example? Tony Stark. Tony choosing to side with the Sokovia Accords is character development because for once in his life he finds value in the rules. Tony Stark is a dynamic character, all of his choices are internal, not external like Steve Rogers. Carol Danvers can't work because her dynamic world lets her choose what she would have chosen to begin with, rebel.
problem is you're essentially pitting already multiple movies' worth of character development against her single movie . You don't know that's the only way to build a character nor how she would evolve yet . One could argue that in First Avenger alone , Steve is likewise already chosing to rebel against unfair authority or injustice. He does constantly before and after becoming cap there
stop with that revisionist history, the first Captain America movie was not well received. your argument only works after we've seen 3 solo Captain Marvel films. So far we've had 1 origin story, one ensemble film and 2 cameos. How can you even compare the two characters? the only comparison that is even remotely fair is to the Black Widow film which I personally feel like Marvel went out of their way to sabotage.
@@ZarathosDaimaoh That's more than fair. Steve has had the chance to grow across multiple movies, Tony as well. I recognize that her character is in it's beginning stages. Though, I'm not saying this is the only way to build her character. I'm saying that way they have tried is pre-structured to fail, as her character is contradictory to the formula they are using. There are many ways to develop a character, and I'm definitely not an expert. However, I still think that my argument holds water, and its not fair to completely excuse poor writing on the fact that this is her first movie. I would also state that The First Avenger suffers from its own writing problems, Steve could have used more internal conflict. I'm not saying that that his writing is perfect. Lastly, my point about Tony Stark supports the argument the best, as all of his movies (including the first) have to do with his own internal struggles.

Brie as an actor can't establish a personality if the entire backstory of the character is that they do not remember/know who they were and therefore do not know who they are. her acting is brilliant in playing a person who thinks they know who they are only to find out that they've been lied to and used as a weapon against innocent beings. Brie handled this very well.
Yup - what the Kree did to her after she absorbed the core was brainwashing to the max. 1. Put the captive in a utterly foreign environment. 2. Scramble their memories via various methods (drugs, sleep deprivation, physical torture, electro shock or like the Kree direct memory editing if you have the tech) 3. Rebuild a personality that serves the kidnappers desires. 4. Rebuke all attempts at recovering their personality/memories. 5. Profit.
It was a difficult script for Brie Larson to really express herself. She spent so much of the movie brainwashed and not knowing who she was, we never got to see the real Carol Danvers. I hope they fix this in the future.
Having the cat scratch out Fury's eye is a repulsive insult to the long-running character who actually lost his eye fighting in World War II as the leader of a brave commando outfit. But that's indicative of the current wards of the Marvel "Universe" and their low regard for the characters that they have inherited from better and more imaginative creators.
Shang Chi is one of the most boring in the MCU, the amount of time spent on back story is over the top, you can cut the first half-hour and still understand what the movie is about
MarVell is a blonde dude in the comics and is the 1st Captain Marvel. Comics wise Carol Danvers was originally Ms.Marvel and like the 5th Captain Marvel.
Yep. The little black girl (Monica) used the name "Captain Marvel" before Carol did, and she also lead the Avengers as Captain Marvel for a good chunk of the 80s. Carol joined the Avengers as "Ms. Marvel". Years later, she gave up the Ms. Marvel name, and went by Captain Marvel. That's how the girl (from the recent Ms. Marvel show) got her name in the comics; she idolized Ms. Marvel (Carol), and took the name when Carol gave it up to become CaptainMarvel.
@@allengator1914 to be honest I thought his name was still Captain Marvel for years. When both the Shazam and Captain Marvel movies were coming out. I would joke that it was kind of funny that Dijmon was in 2 different Captain Marvel movies from 2 different companies in the same year.
@Latest Obsession it wasn't a Dr. Strange sequel. The whole movie was about Scarlet Witch with Strange in the background. So they should've just called it Scarlet Witch. Which isn't a bad thing, it was the bait and switch which was bad.
@Latest Obsession because overall phase 4 is garbage, except for the two I mentioned. Civil War was still a good movie, though. It was more about Cap than Multiverse was about Strange.
Tesseract is the space stone and the light speed engine was made with space sotne energy. That is the reason why Captain Marvel is so powerful. I loved this movie and Carol's journey.
@@damon6126 Not always, Red Skull used the energy of the space stone like blast to desintagrate things, Carol has those energy photon blasts and also she can breath in the space and is able to move through the galaxy. She is not affected by space time. It is canon bro, you need to check the movie again and see why Carol got her powers from the light speed engine when she blast it. She absorbed all the space stone energy.
@@FinnHudson18Gleek Power stone grants energy manipulation as well as enhanced strength. Those things she exhibited in the movie. Please don't speak of canon when talking of MCU movies. It's already been shown they will toss out canon to suit their needs.
The Kree pronunciation is Mar-vell but that’s referring to Lawson and a call back to the original Captain Marvel (The character Lawson should have been but was re-worked/scraped in order to make Carol more prominent as the movie’s MC), the regular spelling of the word refers to Carol’s version of the character as she was originally referred to as Ms. Marvel, but later became Captain Marvel after the original died from what I believe was cancer… don’t quote me on that though, I know most of this from the official encyclopedias both the original and current versions.
Your thoughts on this movie mirror mine. I don't dislike it, but it really didn't grab me the way other movies have. It's hard to put a finger on why that is too. I also think this movie and Black Widow should have happened earlier, like phase 2 sometime.
Brie Larson is good in other stuff, but she definitely wasn't the best in this, but that could be the writing, I think the problem is on top of not being all that likeable is they introduce her as some ultra powerful character that's way more powerful and important than all your other favorite MCU characters doesn't really fill earned not like Iron Man constantly improving his suit, or Thor having to lose pretty much everything in Ragnarok before getting his crazy godly Lightning powers, I mean I guess she was abducted and brainwashed but it spends hardly any time on that. I don't know not the worst MCU movies The Eternals takes that place I keep trying to watch it but it's so boring I still haven't finished it, this movie at least has some fun moments.
I think I'm right in line with you on this one: it's a pretty fun time but nothing that blew me away. When it came out though, it had such a strange place in the culture. I'd never seen a film's middle-of-the-road-ness celebrated so much. Countless video essays came out that month spelling out the demise of the MCU because their attempt at a strong female hero was only a decent comic book movie. On the other side, major news outlets pointed to its success at the box office as a rebuke of "sexist internet trolls." Just a perpetual seesaw of people course correcting for the other side. I envy you if you missed all of that.
It was bizarre watching it get thousands of 1-star fan reviews almost six months before the movie was out. Then the weirdo content creators with their fake “BRIE LARSON SAID SHE DOESN’T WANT WHITE MEN TO SEE HER MOVIE” video headlines. All that for a completely inoffensive mid movie
Agreed, this movie was the definition of everyone having an agenda. You had the usual suspects whining about it being too "woke" or being a SJW movie or something (for little other reason than having a female protagonist) and on the other side you had people acting like it was one of the greatest superhero movies ever (again, it was decent but not really a standout). To me it was just a decent 7/10 popcorn flick.
@@glasses685 My reasoning for disliking it isn't the fact it has a female protagonist. Wandavision was stellar. My issue with the whole 'woke agenda' thing a bunch of less-verbose people than me called it was the blatant 'let me kick a guy's ass for saying something I dislike' and 'let's make these men in particular absolutely irredeemably sexist because wamen' situation. The thing is, I don't think Larson did a particularly BAD job playing someone who THOUGHT they belonged to an alien race, and had a difficult time adapting to a foreign life form. It would be awkward. Possibly even a little cringey to watch it unfold, because the differences of culture are UNCOMFORTABLE. But I think her character motivations and writing are entirely the fault of bad writing and/or direction. It's, as previously stated, absolutely a 'meh' film. I could be convinced to say 7, but I lean more toward a 6. Positively skippable if you're okay being TOLD the few plot points of importance.
How Marvel Comics ended up with a hero called Captain Marvel is a wondrously odd and convoluted tale that started with a hero named Captain Marvel published by Fawcett comics (more than 10 years before Marvel Comics existed) and involves (among other things) a series of lawsuits brought by DC comics and an eventual name change into Shazam. In an odd way, although initially successful, DC ended up shooting itself in the foot with those lawsuits.
I enjoyed this movie the first time I watched it and every time after that. If the hate for Brie wasnt there then more people would probably say it was a great addition to Marvel. Great reaction as always!
Maybe, but honestly the reason why I didn't really like the movie is because she, the character, is just cocky when she tries to be cool. Her development was never really one, she was always powerful, similar to Rey. And then I just hated her for being an a-hole to the bar owner by just blasting his juke box into pieces only to answer a question about her powers 🙄 They could have made her so much more likable by trying less hard to make her badass. The Skrull storyline I liked tho.
@@bella11194 Male cocky heroes I can't stand either, it's a trait that is obviously generally unlikable. I just feel they try too hard to make a girl cool by her being a dick. Like in "Hitman", when the female "unknown" assassin said she is 43 times better than Agent 47, because she is No. 90, ugh, just cringy bragging. Same story in "I am Number Four", just unbearable.
They spent way too much of their attention trying to make it a girl power movie. Nobody had a problem with female superheroes. In fact characters like Scarlets Black Widow are beloved. They then were so concerned with political statements that they turned this movie into that and only that. Not to mention Brie Larson was saying all kinds of ignorant things leading up to this that it turned even more people away than it already did before. They made her insanely OP for that reason. She had no real conflict in this movie. Go watch the first iron man, the first thor, captain America, etc. they all got their asses kicked up and down but through perseverance and willpower they prevailed. This movie didn’t have that. People didn’t like it because as I said before they were so concerned with all of the above that they forgot to actually create a good story
@@garretthorsch8143 exactly. Which is why I really loved Sarah Connor and Ellen Ripley. They didn't just try to be cool. They were thrown into a situation where they had to face terrible fears and made it through it. That's badass to me.
Alex is ever full of surprises. Come for the reactions. Stay for the marbley mouthed stream of conscious commentary. Some sticking points to break up those confuddled moments: * The Rambeaus are smart women, but Monica? She's somewhere intuitively & intellectually between Sam Wilson & Jane Foster, quick to figure things out and provision a solution. In her case, she's everyone's encourager, nudging them just enough in the right direction. *Carol Danvers/Vers/Captain Marvel, continuity wise, is not The First Avenger (that would be Steve Rogers/Captain America), but she is the first to share that title because she inspired the Avenger Initiative implemented by Nick Fury. She absorbed her abilities from a Kree formulated energy engine that was based off of Tesseract energy, the same Tesseract that housed an infinity stone, and also was related to a sibling infinity stone (as all 6 stones were all formed at the same point) that triggered Scarlet Witch/Wanda's & her twin Pietro/Quicksilver's abilities when they volunteered to be experimented on in that castle compound between "Avengers" & "Avengers Age of Ultron". *Flerkins have a naturally occurring pocket universe within themselves, thus able to consume so much (their enemies, The Tesseract, etc.) in such a teeny body. But still an animal, given their catlike appearance/behavior, when wounded up, severely stressed or threatened, they lash out defensively at anyone, explaining the scratch to Nick Fury's eye, as Goose was definitely stressed out. And come on man, the eyepatch is just a cool look on Fury. *Because Wanda was triggered by The Mind Stone's (an infinity stone, housed in Loki's Scepter) energy, it cemented her connection with Vision because he's powered by the very same Mind Stone thus strengthening their personal bond so deep, it leaves devastating consequences. The aftermath of it is explored in "WandaVision", a limited series that features an adult version of Monica Rambeau taking place in the present day, which I hope you get to see, reaction (please, even Patreon only?) or not.
@@Daedalus2010a i never said that. What happened was Loki's Scepter held another infinity stone, the Mind Stone, which acted as a catalyst, unleashing her abilities to their full potential. Or you know, triggered them. Vision's head was embedded with the very same Mind Stone. Also trying not to spoil further background because Alex has yet to see "WandaVision" or "Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness", both of which goes into further detail regarding Wanda & her abilities.
@William Tatum Talmage's comment verbatim stated "Wanda is not related to the Tesseract" which was never stated or implied by me. Thanos already had technology to portal to Earth unrelated to the infinity stones. And the portal from Earth in New York, created by Jane Foster's family friend/academic mentor/S.H.I.E.L.D. contracted Dr. Erik Selvig (mind controlled by Loki's Mind Stone housed scepter loaned to him by Thanos to unchallengingly manipulate anyone to do his bidding) was indeed powered by the Space Stone housed Tesseract, not the Mind Stone embedded in Vision's forehead, which was the largest/final infinity stone needed by Thanos to randomly wipe out half of all life in the known universe.
@@alexhefnerstvmovievault its a great tv show, and honestly, considering the state of marvel shows now, agents of shield is a beacon of quality, that got cancelled after 7 long seasons
There's definitely some legit negative critic to take seriously when it comes to this movie. It's not perfect, but I like it quite a lot. People are also allowed to have different tastes. I don't have a problem if people have it at their bottom half of MCU movie rankings. For me, I'm not sure it gets a top 10 spot but top half for sure. However... A huge amount of the hate/dislike the movie and character gets has nothing to do with the movie. People are mad at Brie. Why? Some quotes were taken out of context and were made out to show that Brie hates men, especially white men. Not at all true. She calls for diversity though, but you can guess how fragile white men took that. Add to that a female lead that could kick most male superheroes ass and it got too much. How do we know these are the issues and not storytelling, acting or the like. Easy, the hate spread before the movie was even released. People using woke as something negative tell on themselves more than they can imagine.
People are dolts. That would mean she hates or own father and brother as well. I mean you just cant make up this kind of looney. Oh wait..... they already did.

It's almost impossible to compare the power levels of the most powerful Marvel characters. They basically have no ceiling and are as powerful as the writers need them to be in the moment.
Yes its very sad, just look what they did with the hulk.
America and 13yrs earlier than Iron Man (Hulk is a little later, set at the same time as Iron Man 2)
Also, a Flerken is a cat looking species and their bodies hold numerous pocket realities, bubbles of space and time that exist in other worlds.

@@SuperDababy2 There was an attempt! C-. (The movie, not you.)
Yes but thats her acting in a lot of movies. Look of Kong Skull Island when she works with Tom Hiddleston and her acting isn't good there either.
@@DarkMoonGeneral But on the flipside look at The Room and Short Term12.
In her flashes of memory, she was a different person. But the constant message of conceal don't feel. Made a very different person.
The reason this movie got hate is because she is a feminist. And promoted feminism during her movie promotion interviews.
- The Kree are the same group that were chasing the Guardians of the Galaxy in the first GotG, tying that together
- There is an upcoming Disney+ series, "Secret Invasion" with Nick Fury which is all about the Skrulls
- The Rambeaus (Maria and Monica) both show up in later shows and movies
- Tesseract, Nick's eye, the name "avengers", etc.
Cheers
This. 👆🏼👆🏼👆🏼

Great reaction, can't wait for your Endgame one next
idk. I wonder who they would have chosen if it wasn't brie

It's pretty important that you watch at least some of the Disney+ Marvel TV shows when you get to them. WandaVision and Loki at an absolute MINIMUM

Neither got their powers from the stone, they merely had their powers awakened.

Love ur takes on this movie. I also enjoyed it and find it actually weirdly gets better every rewatch. I also see what you’re saying about Brie’s performance, but i honestly feel like that’s a major director’s issue. The writers clearly were trying to say she was emotional, but it feels like the directors told Brie to behave more like a stoic aviator, so imo sometimes the writing and direction clash in that way.
i can totally see that. it was better watching it in the edit than the first time around.
I thought she did some amazing acting in her eyes, though. Her facial expressions are stoic, but there is so much emotion shining in her eyes.

I don't know if anyone has said it already but Brie Larson is amazing in "Room" and she won an Oscar for it. She might not be great at social media or interviews - but she is an incredible actress. "Room" is one of the most difficult and horrifying, but eventually life-affirming films ever.
That is a dark and depressing movie in which she did a phenomenal job.
I was just about to say the same. She’s amazing in that movie. Even the kid who played her son is an awesome actor. His role in DoctorSleep (even though it was a small one), was so good… very chilling and painful, but outstanding.
She's fine in interviews. Not her fault right-wing incels take her words out of context and twist them.

Ah well.
If you've ever seen her act in other movies, she's equally "wooden". It's the actress.
Not only that, but she was a fighter pilot - people who are specifically chosen because they don't lose their heads and stay cool and calm under pressure. Everything about her background is supposed to set her up to be, well... flat.
No she's unemotional and wooden because she can't act. That simple.
Marvel.

In case you hadn't caught it, the name the Kree thought was "Vers" was actually part of her last name, the entire name being "Carol DANVERS".
Oh, and that song, "I'm Just A Girl", plays at exactly the right time.
Fun fact: In the comics the Skrull planet was not destroyed by the Kree it was destroyed by Earth. A group of Skrulls (not the entire species) tried to invade Earth and we destroyed their planet in retaliation. Because of this humans have a bad reputation in the galaxy.
among other reasons. it seems like humans stick to earth and when they leave it they fuck things up for everyone else in the universe.
So the timeline puts this movie in 1995... 6 years after the plane crash in 1989 where "Vers" got her powers and was abducted by the Kree.

There's also a guy with swords from GotG as well, played by Djimon Hounsou.
Korath the Pursuer was on the team with Vers. He was the one who first confronted Star-Lord. "Who?"

She was playing someone continually told to control her emotions. That's why a bit wooden. Unfortunately went over a lot of people's heads.
That always annoyed me. The Kree literally taught her to not get emotional…yet people criticized her for being stoic and blamed it on Brie’s acting. They literally missed the whole point of that and went straight to the hate, smh 🙄
I don't blame Brie, she's a good actress. I blame the director. It made for an un-interesting character.

The pager isn't the only tie in, the Kree were in Guardians 1 specifically Ronan the Accuser who is killed by the GotG.
I think Wanda edges out Captain Marvel because she can literally alter reality.
Don't forget Korath. 2 reasons I wanted to see this film.
@@davidhughmiller i forgot his character name but yes he was directly under Ronan in GotG.
It’s the 90’s. I gotta tell ya, as a formal independant Radioshack employee, when I saw the Radioshack in this movie I busted up laughing knowing what happened to the company
Am I the only one who has “ no stream tap to retry” come up? Never happened on any of his other vids before
All right, I've thought about this a lot.

Yep especially when all she knew was ppl telling her to not be emotional and not show emotion bc it's weakness
Yup - what the Kree did to her after she absorbed the core was brainwashing to the max.
1. Put the captive in a utterly foreign environment.
2. Scramble their memories via various methods (drugs, sleep deprivation, physical torture, electro shock or like the Kree direct memory editing if you have the tech)
I hope they fix this in the future.
thats a really good point. I don't know, I guess the arc was just really weird.
Based on her appearances in real life, I'd say it was more likely that she was just playing herself.
She is wooden in everything she's in.
She was never even emotionless, though. She was snarky and condescending the whole time. Like Tony Stark, just without the charm.
You not immediately remembering Coulson HURTS my core 🤕🤒😭😭💔💔💔
Having the cat scratch out Fury's eye is a repulsive insult to the long-running character who actually lost his eye fighting in World War II as the leader of a brave commando outfit. But that's indicative of the current wards of the Marvel "Universe" and their low regard for the characters that they have inherited from better and more imaginative creators.
Dude, i CANNOT wait for you to see SHANG CHI. It is phenomenal. Best new character we’ve been introduced to
Yeah that was a great movie and character very underated, shang chi and moonknight are probably the best new characters
Shang Chi is one of the most boring in the MCU, the amount of time spent on back story is over the top, you can cut the first half-hour and still understand what the movie is about
Solid movie that one is.
@@TheAneova thanks for overly-hating on something you coulda just skipped past
I'd give that to Moon Knight.

@Latest Obsession it wasn't a Dr. Strange sequel. The whole movie was about Scarlet Witch with Strange in the background. So they should've just called it Scarlet Witch. Which isn't a bad thing, it was the bait and switch which was bad.

Tesseract is the space stone and the light speed engine was made with space sotne energy. That is the reason why Captain Marvel is so powerful. I loved this movie and Carol's journey.
Space Stone grants instant teleportation powers. Not what she exhibited in the movie (which would come from the Power Stone).
@@damon6126 Not always, Red Skull used the energy of the space stone like blast to desintagrate things, Carol has those energy photon blasts and also she can breath in the space and is able to move through the galaxy.
I’d love to see a team up scene between carol and Thor, visually their powers would look so fucking cool
Your thoughts on this movie mirror mine. I don't dislike it, but it really didn't grab me the way other movies have. It's hard to put a finger on why that is too. I also think this movie and Black Widow should have happened earlier, like phase 2 sometime.
we think the same haha
Her small(ish) part in Scott Pilgrim vs The World was amusing.
@@CrowTRobot it is pretty bizzare, but to be fair she did say that
@@mirkecWii No she didn’t rewatch the video. Her point was lack of diversity.
37:11 Reminder (if I'm correct) that's the pager Fury had and dropped when he got dusted in the end of Infinity War
@@Tchika why? Do we wonder same about the male hereos that are as cocky
Some sticking points to break up those confuddled moments:
* The Rambeaus are smart women, but Monica?
Wanda isn’t related to the tesseract. It was Loki’s Scepter and the mind stone.. which is what is in visions head.
