  • Hello everybody!
    Here's a video about a project i did recently.
I had a mini stx motherboard laying around (i bought it for some project but ended up scrapping that idea) so i started looking for cases.
And i did not find any with a window, so...
    I designed and printed one!
Since the main intake in such cases is located on a side panel, which in this case (pun intended and I'm not even sorry) is blocked with a window, i added 2x70 mm quiet exhaust fans at the top and intake vents on each wall to improve airflow.
Fans are inaudible when compared to almighty intel stock cooling solution!
And this mini PC is quite quiet overall.
i used acrylic sheet for window because i did not have thin plexiglass at the moment.
    model updates since recording:
    - switches and LED's moved behind motherboard for non conflict extraction
    - lifted motherboard, resulting in space for second 2.5" drive behind it
    - adjusted minor bugs
    - added slide-in vesa adapter for 75 and 100mm spacing
    - added slide-in legs instead of glued/welded ones
    SPEC:
    mobo: Asus h110S1 stx
    ram: 2x hyperx 8gb
cpu: i3 6100 (i ended up taking it from plytop instead of pentium cause it has slightly better iGPU: 530 vs 510 and plytop has a dedicated one anyway)
adapter: some asus laptop 90w brick
    fans: 2x70mm silentiumPC zephyr
PC uses very little energy, 14,8 w on idle, and 25-42w on load, but AC adapter is the key here, use one with high efficiency (mine probably is quite low),
i will probably make a separate vid about power usage.
For typical office work, browsing, media playing and even some lighter games (minecraft works just fine!), it should even work for some full hd video editing as it has 16gb ram.
I might do some benchmarks and games if you're interested too!
    Printed on Ender 3 Pro
I hope you enjoyed watching my video, and if you did, like and subscribe.
If you did not, please let me know why so i can improve and do better next time!
Also, feel free to tell me what you would like to see next.
