Using 3 Fishing Techniques To Catch My BIGGEST Inshore Slam (New PB Redfish)

- In this video, I set out with a goal to catch a Tampa Bay Inshore Slam (redfish, snook and speckled trout) using three different fishing techniques. My plan was to catch snook by free-lining live bait around islands (threadfins/greenbacks/pilchards/white bait), catch redfish using cut bait along mangrove shorelines and catch speckled trout using artificial lures on grassflats. I knew I could possibly break my personal best inshore slam of 61", but I didn't know I was about to have one of the best days of fishing this year! Caught my new PB redfish and crushed my old inshore slam record.

Awesome video Brent!! Congrats on both of the new PBs sir. Keep up the great videos. I absolutely love your channel. My favorite RUclips channel PERIOD!!!!
Great video dude. Here's a tip with fishing circle hooks. Don't pull but rather, start reeling. Wait 5 seconds so the snook can really have the bait in its mouth and then start reeling. the reeling action will help set the hook in the corner of the fish's mouth. When you started to pull it, you most likely kept pulling the hook out of the fish's mouth rather than getting it to catch the corner. That's just my 2 cents. I fish circle hooks exclusively. Wait 5 seconds, start reeling at a moderate pace.
very happy watching this video
Very impressive. I enjoy the local knowledge of knowing where to look for specific fish.
The release footage on that first snook was freaking sick!
Nice fishing. Hopefully next time we get to T.B., we'll have better luck. Went out in the bay in sept, didnt do so hot...lol
Those were a couple solid Linesiders and the red was nice Great Slam !
Your videos get better and better. Nice fish today! I wanna try getting on some fish with live and cut bait, but having lots of trouble netting them. I’ve yet to get the slam. The red always seems to be the one I can’t get. But here’s my RUclips slam: Brent, Justin, and Lawson.
Excellent job Brent, most definitely watching you grow as a Tuber as well as Fisherman. Love the chanel. As my Gramps would say every time he saw some water and it made him wanna fish. "Now im breathing through my Gillz" 🤣
Nice job on the slam man! Better thank that little trout for coming through and completing it for ya😎
That was the happiest I've been catching a 13" trout
Stellar Video Brent! Congrats on the PBs, man! That was crazyyyyyyy, keep up the good work.
Nice day fishing for sure. Keep it up
Nice redfish and snook. Pilchards are always killer. You should take a trip up to crystal river and sightfish those reds man!
I caught a nice red yesterday on cut greenback, and a snook as well but didn’t get the trout for the slam! They love it! Awesome stuff bro...
You probably would have fished through the night for a trout to complete the slam had that little guy not come along. Nice PB slam, huge upgrade. Of all the times for trout not to bite.....
I booked 3 weeks of fishing in Tampa in october. The flight got canceled yesterday and now im sitting here being sad and watching fishing vids :D
Nice job Brent, time to start flyfishing 👍🏾
Nice video keep up the good work
What a GREAT VIDEO! Way to go BRENT ❤️❤️❤️
That was a killer video. Congrats on the redfish and those snook! 😁👍
Awesome day of fishing man. And congrats on the new PB 🤙🏾
CONGRATS on your PB! Keep the videos coming!
Nice slam!!
Great video bro
I like the 3 different bait technique. very interesting
What a day, man! Nice fish. Was that Sunday? I took my wife and daughter near that area, but it was about 10:30 before we got our bait (pins). We only got one red and I'll attest to the wind. Nice work!
Fun to watch and informative thanks for the good content.
Hi Brent. Great video as always. What depth do you like to see when you're targeting reds and snook under the mangroves with cut bait...at least a couple feet? Just curious your thoughts and opinion on that...also if high tide best when fishing that way?
High tide is definitely the best time to use cut bait around mangroves, and typically I'm looking for between 1-3 feet of water at the spot
@@SeeYaDude Thank you much
Loved the video bud. You wrecked em'! Congrats on your new pb.
Yessir! Nice video bro
Nice job. Great video.
Congrats on the PB redfish, I only caught one trout each of my last two times out, have no idea why they shut off.
Nice fishing 👌👍👍 👍👍👍...
Another solid video man 💪
great show! I'm loving this channel.
nice vid bro!!!
Freaking awesome. Pumped for ya, got some nice fish.
Nice video, keep up the good work👍
Nice slam! I think I would have stayed out all night trying to upgrade the trout to complete the all slot/overslot slam.
Nice job!
Amazing video bro
🤙
Good shit my man!
Sick vid
See ya dude 😎🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great vid. Videos are getting better and better every time. U can also dm me if you want to tell me where bait is in the bay lol.
Another solid vid!
Great vid dawg!
Where’d you get your net? That thing is awesome!
I got it as a gift a couple years ago, it's called the Frabill Power Stow Net. Here's a link to it: amzn.to/2Ee2NAj
cool fish in shore good day fish
Brent, I have a question for ya. What do you think is the best depth to find keeper trout. Obviously, I haven't found it yet...
Great video!
Dude, will you do any guides? Seriously I will come down there.
Great video
Great day.
Nice video, just subbed.
Man U make me wanna go fishing lol
Just curious if you have any of the St. Croix 7’s? If so do you see any difference in them vs. the 7’6”. Thinking about investing in better equipment.
I do not have any 7' spinning rods, I personally like the feel and castability of a 7' 6" rod more than a 7'
Love your content! This is awesome! Your page is a great inspiration for my channel! Let me know how my channel could improve if you can!
Thanks dude! There’s two things I would recommend when making fishing videos: tell a story and be educational. The viewers are watching the video to either learn something new or feel like they’re a part of the action (or both). Also, consistency with your uploads is huge. Develop an upload schedule that works with you and try everything you can to stick to it. If you can do those three things, your channel will grow. Good luck!
Brent Schirmer thank you man! I really appreciate that honest feedback! Means a lot!
How do you have your setup for free lining bait, and your lure setup
For the free line I used 2' of 30# fluoro and a 2/0 circle hook. I then nose hooked the bait. I cut off the hook and tied on the lure using the same leader. All of this was on my 3000 Penn Clash on my 7' 6" St. Croix Mojo Inhsore Medium-Light Action rod
I love your ebullience. It makes me want to stop watching videos and go fishing!
Yea yea
Oh ok.. I take that...
Question, why put a leader on instead of going with straight hook and line?
I use braided line on my reels and braid is extremely visible in the water compared to fluorocarbon or monofilament. I tie on a section of leader to reduce the chance of the fish getting spooked from seeing the line. Also, leader material is more abrasion resistant than braid, which is good when fishing around structure or for fish (like snook) that have abrasive mouths
Nice, right now this video has 420 likes and it was published on 4/20. Lol
Hey, Brent, I just wanted ask, what band is playing the music at the beginning? And what's the name of the tune?
I got it from Epidemic Sound. The song is "Living Life" by DJ DENZ The Rooster
what kind of boat is that? Nice!
It's a 2019 Sea Hunt BX 22 BR
Hey man I live right by Town and Country and Im always looking for people to fish with. If you ever wanna let me know man!
