Lol that's a bullshit logic. All these people are just greedy and nothing else. There literally many tribal people who hunts certain animals in limitation so that they don't over kill and make them endangered.
I support ANY hunting for food, doesn't matter what it is. But if you going to kill it you BETTER be eating it. Also for most species hunting is needed for conservation.

Being half Peruvian, born out of Peru, I had a hard time connecting with actual Peruvians until I lived there for a year and a half. People love to get on their high horse about indigenous peoples hunting while continuing to support industries that deforest and mine the Amazon which leads to infinitely more endangerment than this. Yes, it is ugly and upsetting to see endangered animals for sale, but remember that these animals have been hunted forever and it wasn’t an issue until they were colonized. Also these cities are incredibly secluded and agriculture there is close to impossible so this is literally the food they have available to them.

When I was in costa rica, one of the hostels we stayed at was right against the jungle. Around 6pm howler monkeys started screaming like crazy. Then in the middle of the night we heard pots and pans getting thrown around in the kitchen. The owners said they will sneak in and steal food, and if theres no food then they get real mad and just throw everything around lmao.

Also I find it funny how Oro will still translate Sonny Spanish into a better phrase when he tries to speak it to the locals, or how he will do the same for the guide. Even when the guide speaks English, Oro still says the same thing to Sonny just for clarity.
I'm from hungary and we eat these "egg nests"(?) too. My grandma used to prepare them together with congealed blood and liver and if there was also a rooster which got slaughtered, then also the testicles. She put some chicken or pig fat in a pan, and roasted some onions in it with some other basic spices. Than added the egg yolk sack or nests into the pan together with the chicken liver, the congealed blood and the rooster testicles and roasted it. It is delicious together with some beans or chilli beans.
19:17 i have no issue with people hunting wild animals so long as they have large stable populations, hunting wild animals can be super sustainable, they tend to have better taste, and for certain species it actually has the ability to help keep populations in check, they shouldn't be hunting endangered species tho, not only because of moral and environmental implications but because they wont be able to hunt them if they keep doing so
Sonny - the work of you & your team is AMAZING (as usual)! National Geographic should be funding your work!🎖🎖🎖💞💞💞😎😎😎 P.S.: Loving that your local host has ‘Australia’ written on the front of his red & white top! (As a true Australian myself!)😊😊😊
You present content in a great way. It's very eye opening to me. Before watching this channel I would think these people are terrible for eating some of these animals but now I see they do it to survive, it's their culture. Thank you for making these videos.
Quite concerning but I understand why this is happening. People will do anything to have food in the table. Not everyone is privileged enough to have or afford commercially raised livestock that is why they rely on wild game. Makes me really thankful on the life I was given.
Most of these people shown were overweight. I dont know what you people are talking about "help" them?? Theres nomadic African tribes that have like 30 cows in the desert and can find enough food and water for them, Im pretty sure these chunky lads can get their hands on a pair of cows, chicken and pigs and substantially farm them like every other culture instead of them wiping out the native animal species. These people arnt like aboriginals in Australia where they can hunt native species but because of the fact they keep amazing track of their kills and have an specific number allowed. These are lazy humans being greedy.
Sonny, I appreciate the shows you do that hi light the lives of these societies that live on the fringe of what we think of as 'civilization'. Most Americans have a hard time realizing just how poor much of the world is.
Peru is an extraordinary country! You will not see anything like it in all of the Americas! now it will appear in Transformers "Rise of the beasts" the Andes and the enormous Peruvian jungles will shine all over the world. Probably my favorite country in the world.
I've noticed that after the Joe rogan podcast, the best ever food review show has started to go more in depth about the culture and backstory about the food. Which I must say I'm loving it even more, to learn about more different and exotics dishes and its culture. 😁👍
20:25 You can´t really use the "we need to eat" argument when these people have tons of other alternatives. The authorities need to step in and punish those who break the law it´s as simple as that.
Fantastic mix of different culture types of food it all lools so appetizing an you i respect the traditional ways cultures get down on some smackn ass food i love this show

...when i hear people are eating endeangered species, that makes me really very angry and sad, stop it ! In Myanmar a hunter told us, they never hunt or eat a Monkey, it is like eating your ancestors
The answer to Sonny's dilemma at 19:18 - 19:34 was brilliantly answered by Sam Kinnison when he said "You people don't live where the fucking food is!!"" 😂😂
That's their ancestors decision to settle and in olden times all humans don't cultivate so mostly they depends on wild fruits and animals. And even if they want to starts now they have to cut down forest and it will affect/effect anyways the animals and environment😢😅.
I have watched all your episodes, Sonny, but somehow this one is the most shocking. The Peruvian/Amazonian people are ruthless... Thanks for bringing this content. You and Oro are brilliant together
Idk why but this channel happens to post new content on days where I am feeling really depressed and they get me through the day. Then after watching the newest video I'm recommended other videos from this channel that I have not seen, so I start watching one after another.
This episode takes me back to pandemic days when people were ignorantly saying things like “Why eat bats? That’s disgusting; just eat regular meat.” So interesting to learn about the different ways people have survived in their environments through food.
It’s hilarious that anytime I watch this RUclips channel I get all kinds of ads for impossible meat and vegan stuff. LOL I could be further from that. I am a carnivore through and through. And getting those on this RUclips channel it’s just comedic.
Another great video on Perú. It’s very interesting and sad that the people eat endangered species but I also understand that the land they live in cannot be used for farming because of that rainforest climate. It’s def not something I knew bout my moms country but I’m glad to learn of these situations. Hopefully they can find a way to import beef and pork meat to the market.
@@PrussianFrost I hope they come to a solution that works for them. If they can get the meats of these three animals regularly imported at an affordable price then they should.

that is the key, we mind each others business and respect each other ways of life. Enough of this woke bullshit.
I agree with you.
I love seeing the people of the different locations, so many fiery souls out there
South American rain forest could basically be its own planet its so diverse and astonishing.
Sounds like my ex wife

Love this episode, I'm from south Texas and as far south as you can go , I'm about 10 miles to the river that devides Mexico from the u.s and yes I live in a small town we consider country, been watching all your episodes and I love you sharing the history of where your from , thanks , I'll keep supporting and seeing all your episodes, your to far but hopefully some day i will have the pleasure of meeting you , and yes w also BBQ out here , mesquite is what we use , Country style baby !!
Cool! Been to Iquitos several times. Went up the MARANON river for 100 km for environmental work. Love Peru!
Absolutely love Oro, take him with you everywhere!
Also I find it funny how Oro will still translate Sonny Spanish into a better phrase when he tries to speak it to the locals, or how he will do the same for the guide. Even when the guide speaks English, Oro still says the same thing to Sonny just for clarity.
Thank you so much Sonny for taking us around the world. Love watching your amazing videos🙂
I'm really impressed by the camera angle and music. My God, You have the best team!! They are so talented!!
probably the best ep i ever watch cross the entire youtube food channels
Man.....I truly appreciate your hard work and dedication!
Thanks for this great show Sonny rocks 🎉 and Oro is cool 😅
I appreciate you highlighting the difficulties of these people and their world. I only wish things could be better for them.
Any video you do with Oro, No pun intended, its Gold.
When I tell people what I eat when I’m in the jungle it absolutely either blows their mind or grosses them out lol
Such a diverse amount of food. Loving this series!!
Educational yet stressful to watch at the same time for some reason.
This has been the best episode so far.
can't belive we get this for free.
19:17 i have no issue with people hunting wild animals so long as they have large stable populations, hunting wild animals can be super sustainable, they tend to have better taste, and for certain species it actually has the ability to help keep populations in check, they shouldn't be hunting endangered species tho, not only because of moral and environmental implications but because they wont be able to hunt them if they keep doing so
One of the best episodes ❤ u two made this informative and funny sometimes more is more
Sonny - the work of you & your team is AMAZING (as usual)! National Geographic should be funding your work!🎖🎖🎖💞💞💞😎😎😎
P.S.: Loving that your local host has ‘Australia’ written on the front of his red & white top! (As a true Australian myself!)😊😊😊
PERU IS COOL AS HELL
I love how Oro kept repeating English to Sonny as if he was somehow translating.
You present content in a great way. It's very eye opening to me. Before watching this channel I would think these people are terrible for eating some of these animals but now I see they do it to survive, it's their culture. Thank you for making these videos.
OMG 😂 the guys laugh in beginning..such a great laugh 🤣🤣❤❤❤
You guys never disappoint. Well done
Quite concerning but I understand why this is happening. People will do anything to have food in the table. Not everyone is privileged enough to have or afford commercially raised livestock that is why they rely on wild game. Makes me really thankful on the life I was given.
But nature is a beautiful thing and we must preserve it.
@@gabbycarter965 go help these ppl then.
@@susmitasubedi7179 I would if I was able to do so!
@@gabbycarter965the stfu...dont judge them if u cant help them
Oro translating that man's English is hilarious to me for some reason. I think it's a habit when he's with Sonny and someone who is Latino.
Sonny, I appreciate the shows you do that hi light the lives of these societies that live on the fringe of what we think of as 'civilization'. Most Americans have a hard time realizing just how poor much of the world is.
I love this show! You really respect both sides of the process, I’m no foodie but I am binging this show!!
Rest in peace anthony Bourdain
you and Oro are great together, Please do more with Oro, Calvin, abd Shizuka Anderson
20:25 You can´t really use the "we need to eat" argument when these people have tons of other alternatives. The authorities need to step in and punish those who break the law it´s as simple as that.
Fantastic mix of different culture types of food it all lools so appetizing an you i respect the traditional ways cultures get down on some smackn ass food i love this show
Ohww, what a overwhelming food adventure in Peru again, - Lol, i hope Sonny and Oro will have some charcoal against some difficulties with digestion 😇😁Great episode i enjoy it ! Thy ! 👍👍
...when i hear people are eating endeangered species, that makes me really very angry and sad, stop it ! In Myanmar a hunter told us, they never hunt or eat a Monkey, it is like eating your ancestors
The answer to Sonny's dilemma at 19:18 - 19:34 was brilliantly answered by Sam Kinnison when he said
"You people don't live where the fucking food is!!""
😂😂
That's their ancestors decision to settle and in olden times all humans don't cultivate so mostly they depends on wild fruits and animals. And even if they want to starts now they have to cut down forest and it will affect/effect anyways the animals and environment😢😅.
I have watched all your episodes, Sonny, but somehow this one is the most shocking. The Peruvian/Amazonian people are ruthless... Thanks for bringing this content. You and Oro are brilliant together
Why you think they are ruthless?
One of your best videos! Lupet!!!
The peruvians live and hunt like vietnamese. I like how they cook the fish😋delicious!
Idk why but this channel happens to post new content on days where I am feeling really depressed and they get me through the day. Then after watching the newest video I'm recommended other videos from this channel that I have not seen, so I start watching one after another.
Oro and Sunny are the best team up ever!!
I wanna see Sonny, Calvin, and Oro together!
Why would you ruin it with Calvin?
NOTHING can be ruined when Calvin's involved ❤❤
I mean it can, they can just eat 3 farmed animals like most other countries.... They dont have to eat 20 animals all the time...
@@PrussianFrost I hope they come to a solution that works for them. If they can get the meats of these three animals regularly imported at an affordable price then they should.
Peru is fascinating! ¡Viva Peru!
Sad to see that poor little marmoset and tortoise in the market when they are endangered species , such is life I guess. Great job though sonny always loved these videos, I travel the world through you my friend. 😊
dude, back from long time. I forgot how amazing your video was. It is not food review, it is a Netflix quality documentary
Great video. Awesome conversation about a difficult issue.
