“Maximum acceleration”…you mean “ludicrous speed”? 🤣👍👍 I’m actually very proud of my truck keeping 50 mph up a big hill on the NY Thruway yesterday…I thought for sure I’d have to obey the “use flashers under 40” sign…
They're not the fastest....
@@CallMeColtLLC yep…but the lmtv feels faster than the deuce and a half I had…👍👍
Hi Colt. A lot of the issues you are having with your truck are covered in my build series. Not sure if you watched it yet? Those sprayers are easily sourced from amazon and come in a 3 pack IIRC. I had to replace all of mine too.
Yes I have watched some but not all... there are a lot. :)
@@CallMeColtLLC do you happen to know how to turn on the amber warning light ? ( light on top of the vehicle )
@@stevenmajicmike There is a switch on the dashboard for it.
Well, I found you! Good show... heck yes keep everything and throw nothing away. Someday it will come in handy, or someone will be very desperate for the parts and you will make their day! After you change out those cab ride air bags, it will be a whole new feel. What are you planning for wheel balancing?
Howdy! I haven't given any thought to the wheel balancing yet. Figured one of the big rig places would be a place to do it once I get tires to replace. I get almost no shimmy at 55mph right now.
That green plate that came with your truck is a jack plate for when you change your tire...your jack goes on it.
Yes I did end up figuring that out, thanks though!
Very nice thanks
Thanks for watching!
You should be able to aim those windshield washer spray nozzles with a pin. stick a pen right in the sprayer and aim it.
I did it & it worked! Thank you!!
GnarBus!
We'll go in it when you come in the spring.
That unknown thing is a jack base... I don't know where it goes. The plastic cap on the heater hose behind the grill is a flush fitting so you can use a garden hose to flush it. If you replace that hose, I'd toss that fitting... I've had them break on me when they get older.
Thank you! That makes sense for the jack base. I'll make a spot for it. That fitting did leak a bit & stopped itself. Wish I knew it was for that when I did my coolant flush! Would have used it & then removed it. Oh well, next time. Thanks again!
What size extinguisher you ask? get biggest fire extinguisher you can fit. I had an LMTV alternator fire and it took equivalent of about 5 or 6 of those 1lb extinguishers to get it out. (approx 7 gals of ABC extinguisher and water to knock it out.) Maybe true automotive extigisher would cut that down some..... do not know how much though.
I have a mount from an MRAPV that I have a brand new extinguisher for. Might find a way to mount that.
If you plan to drive the truck around without the cab airbags filled, then insert the transport pins so you don't pop the airbags. Also, you can simply replace the OEM airbags for cheaper than the "upgrade" kit. You can find NOS airbag assemblies for $250 ea. on ebay... They last decades...
The only new, old stock cab springs I found were $600 each. If you have a link to get them for $250 each, please let me know.
@@CallMeColtLLC, I bought one on ebay for $225 about 3 months ago. The same seller had 2, I probably should have bought both... It's something you see pop up every few months. Also, folks on the FB group will offer them up once in a while. Just keep your eyes peeled.
Looks like you live next to @Whistlin Diesel. The road looks the same....
I don't think so. Would be a lot of fun if so!
You fill the coolant reservoir up to where you can just see it in the upper sight glass when cold(-10 manual)... looks like it is running good:) whats wrong with ctis?
I need to put a tad more coolant in. Plan to do a full flush of the system in a few weeks. No idea on the CTIS. Want to get the other stuff done before I dig into that.
@@CallMeColtLLC does your spare have a wheel valve assembly? Mine does...
Yes it does, I'm just not sure how to switch it all over yet. I was going to figure it all out when I get 2 new tires. The spare is very old & the one wheel without the CTIS on it is different than the rest.
please what company did you get insurance I need help thanks Keith please respond
USAA Agency had Progressive build me a policy.
What was your highway speed? Do you think it would have a problem pulling a 40 foot goose neck trailer with around 25000 lbs on it?
I honestly don't see how this would pull a goose neck trailer at all. No way to hook up! It would pull 25,000lbs no problem. This truck is not fast. 55mph top speed on a down slope. You can re-gear them but it is a lot of money.
@@CallMeColtLLC I was actually looking at the 6x6 tractor. I thick they run the some motor. 390 horse. They told me by gearing it I could get 68-70 out of it. I just don’t want it to fall on its face by gearing it. Thoughts on that?
@@trinitylandscapingandexcav7965 M1088 is the tractor I believe. Regearing it should be fine but it will be extremely expensive. Unless you need a 6x6 tractor to pull a trailer, I think you could find something much better for the cost you'd have into it. If you need something for off road than the FMTV would be worth it. Just make sure the trailer is also ready for it. 😀
I pulled a 12” chipper with mine today for 1.5 hours. Top speed 55 downhill. I realized that I love my LMTV but it’s not really efficient at pulling things on the highway. I also pull my triple axle trailer with 8000 lb Kamatsu loader. It is super slow uphill. LMTV is made to haul troops off-road. I think you would be disappointed at the slow going pulling 25,000 lbs.
What insurance company did you use. What did you call the vehicle when speaking to them? Thanks
I had Progressive & have recently switched to Hagardy. Had some issued with Progressive. I plan to talk about this in my next update video so keep an eye out for it & I will explain!
What exactly is the purpose of those cab airbags? Thanks
They are suspension for the cab so it rides smoother. Most trucks have them as they have very stiff suspension to support the weight the truck can carry.

Best present from the dinos.
@@CallMeColtLLC also would you happen to know what transmission oil the vehicle use ?
WE NEED TO MEET IM IN TEXAS AS WELL
Sounds good!
