Lookin good. I am a lefty and discovered after I bought my 716i that the charging handle is not standar, Wasted money on two aftermarket charging handles before I figured it out. lol. The front lug is longer on Sigs charging handle. Still a decent smoke pole. Running a Liberty Omega can. Later from Texas.
My 716i upgrade list= -Dirty bird 2 stage trigger -VG6 epsilon Muzzle device -Magpul UBR gen2 stock -Vortex Viper pst/warn mount + vortex throw lever -harris bipod -may get a side mount 45° red dot or steel backup sights
I can't go through a full 20 rd mag without at least 2 failures. My magpul drum won't feed at all. This is the only gun I've ever bought that I regret buying. UPDATE A buddy and I took it apart to figure out what the hell was wrong with it, but everything looked good. We put it back together and brought it to the range, and it made a liar out of me. We shot (6) 25 rd mags through it without a single issue🎉. I really wanted to love this thing, and now I do. I just picked up my PRS gen 3 and will be putting it on tonight-the factory stock left my shoulder a bit more sore than expected,- along with a CMC drop in trigger that I just picked up for it. Obviously, I need to order the charging handle because the stock one is terrible, lol.
Honestly, we can't take credit for figuring it out because all we did was inspect the bolt and then put it back together. My guess is that maybe quality control dropped the ball before releasing it? I just don't know. I do know it wasn't the mags, though. I've been using the same ones with no further issue. Sorry for the late response, guys. I just saw this.
One critique with your set up if I can make a suggestion... Your front/rear fixed sights are useless in their current top-mounted configuration primarily because they do not co-witness with your LPV and your rear fixed sight cannot be deployed under your LPV - furthermore your LPV mount doesn't have quick detachment levers. Consider side-mounting them or better yet going with a side-mounted optic which will be even quicker to acquire a target as a usable secondary aiming system.
Not happy with mine. BCG stiff as hell. I think gas rings out of spec. Loosened up a little after 200 rds but bolt still tight in carrier. Accuracy blows.
@@jmeyers88 I haven't had that problem but ive put about 300 rounds only through it plinking and shooting hogs. I did notice it's still oozing oil every time I shoot it from the factory. Not a problem but never had that happen on other guns. I haven't bothered cleaning it yet and putting my own cleaning products on it. Its been accurate for me, but im not shooting past 300 yards at this point in time, so I cant speak to accuracy past about 200ish shooting hogs.
I'm dead on at 400 yards with Hornady Match 168 grain BTHP. In my research I've heard that this gun shoots Hornady 168 grains the best. The message board said AMAX 168 grain, but I know for a fact mine also shoots Match 168 very well.
@@ModernRifleman Sure... you can make ball machine gun ammo spin, but what is the rifles favorite flavor is the big question for this gun. The idea of this rifle, as I understand, is an accurized 16" battle rifle. Finding the most accurate load is key to its intended use. A light shooting scoped battle rifle that can reach accurately to 900yds and be thrown into the role of a "light M60" using a bipod, couple magpul drums and an offset red dot.
@@GMRVC1 totally understand your question, wrong guy to ask. After I got my reloading bench all set up, I haven’t shot factory ammo in quite a while and I don’t like stocking a boatload of bullet weights. I do have another video on the channel load testing the Sig. Could answer your question through that
@@ModernRifleman I'm not super into ammo rabitholes but I just threw a holuson square red dot and a cheap sight mark 3x magnifier on it and have it sighted at 150 and its been shooting good grouping with Hornady whitetail in 150 grain and 165 grain. another 150 grain of cheap ammo I think called bronze that shot the same as the other too as far as staying grouped and accurate. Shot some (I think 185 hornady) and it performed about the same. Seems to shoot accurate with whatever I have putted threw it so far (only about 300 rounds so far) but im about to put my Leupold on it I think and sight it in at 300 with a centric red dot for deer hunting next season and I think Im gonna use the 165 hornady whitetail loads, and for hogs I have just been shooting cheap ammo at them and its doing the job.
I wasn’t going to upgrade it till I saw this video 😂 Sucks we can only get the one from sig so I’m just going to upgrade it because the stocked version is a POS THX

Very sweet setup! Thanks for some great insight and info! Makes my latest choice of rifle easier!! 👍👍👍👌👌😄

What do you think the fix was?
Probably break in, or the bs mags he was using

Fantastic. I need do to the same. Switched out the trigger immediately for a CMC 3.5 lbs single stage.
I replaced my Sig muzzle device with a VG6 Epsilon 762 and I upgraded the trigger tech.
Just order a 716i, Sig scope 1x6, mag pul bipod amd 3 extra 20 round mags. I will get the charging handle and larger grip. I have gorilla hands
The compensator is the shit to it works great 👍
Update...there after market charging handles and other products now available for The 716I Tread.
Did you leave the rubber block in, that supports the rear locking pin?
Phase 5 makes a charging handle for the sig 716i I’ve had mine on there for about 2 years…
I'd suggest some magpul 25 round windowed mags
Most important upgrade is the trigger. The 8 to 8.5 lb Mil-spec trigger is pretty bad, but not as bad as say a PTR or G3 clone!
Can you drop the link to your sling and charging handle please?
I’m having fun with this rifle at the range. Using it as a SHTF rifle, as it doesn’t seem useful for home defense.

Dude my BCG is a fucking rock solid nightmare. I cleaned it, lubed it, shot it. Thing is terrible.

Sweet 👍🏼👍🏼
Have you tried different ammo weights for accuracy to see what it prefers in the short barrel ?
168g vs 175g vs... ?
I haven’t tried different ammo weights but I reload too. I’ll make any bullet work.

@ModernRifleman Did you swap out barrels for a shorter one or is it the same 16 inch?
What is the name of the FDE handguard furniture?
Magpul rail covers
Where did you get that HK e1 in fde? Can’t find it anywhere.
Brownells had it on sale a while back. Pretty sure that supply is gone
how is the glass clarity on the SIG MSR scope?
Pretty decent for a $500 scope
what muzzle do you have on that rig
Q Cherry Bomb
Now..throw a geissele sd-e on there and watch it go from a 3 moa gun to a 1 moa or better gun. Trust me
