  • One of the most important roles in F1, Aerodynamics. 👀
    Ola works closely on the front wing element of the car pushing the limits of physics to find that perfect balance between downforce and speed. He talks through the highs and lows of developing front wing concepts.

      Best team in F1 and motorsports? Apparently... wherever you're living at, there's only one tv channel and news about one solo team. The Merc F1 channel??? Stopped watching F1, at 2021... I might guess?

    • @onuuche

      @@3dmaniac119 I guess statistically being the most successful team in the last 2 decades means nothing 🤷🏽‍♂️ and yes F1 is the Pinnacle of Motorsports which automatically defaults Mercedes petronas as the greatest team in recent years.

      Sorry,@@onuuche, I've half a century of F1 over my shoulders... taking it into consideration. I must say: I thought the reds were way ahead of all the others and, the Mercs, still are in 3rd place (sorry, 4th). My bad.

      One of the tenets of a robust argument is an objective presentation of facts. While “best” and “most successful “ are not always synonymous in F1 parlance, it is important to accept that while Mercedes AMG petronoas team isn’t the best now (even in the last 2 decades), they are also not the most successful.
      A more objective statistical argument will be the best team “of the turbo hybrid era” imo

    • @3dmaniac119

      One of the most stupidest/dumbest commentaries, I've ever read.
      Lewis has nothing to do with it, @kansum3326;
      F1 is the very pinnacle of the sport, where the most impressive minds, do work. What happened a few decades ago, when Lewis wasn't even a sperm cell, was... that people from other countries and ethnicities, just started studying other areas and specialized on some subjects that weren't so common among them, areas and subjects compatible with having jobs at Formula 1. F1 teams want the best of the best, working for them, just is the case, of Ola. And you, unfortunately, you weren't good enough. That has nothing to do with minority.
      I'm very, very good at my job, but I do realize that, there are better guys out there, way better me. It's often called, being humble.

      Apparently you can't understand what you're trying to read, @@across3211. There are thousands of people with a Masters degree in aero engineering. F1 teams want the very best of the best. It's indeed quite simple... just simple math. Having a Masters degree in aero engineering, nowadays... it's just not enough to enter into the F1 world. you must be the best at your job... or at least, one of them.

      Even better comparison would be pre 2021 cost cap & now. Loads of stories on some team would literally fill skips full of carbon fibre parts that never made it. Now I imagine it's a dull downward line with sharp drop offs re what is tested & makes it on the car Hence teams like McLaren are now pushing tech to 'recyle' carbon

      As many as they can squeeze out of the budget, I guess? Most of it goes into man hours I suppose.
      Dealing with diminishing returns, so it's vital to have a good feeling of where exactly the gains can be found.
      Imagine they do hundreds of CFD tests on some design iterations, before they make any prototype part. Then they probably only scale them up if they're going to bring something new to the track.

    Good guy and seems like he knows what he's doing with the drive to make towards the top. As fellow Yorkshireman I say we give this lads the keys to the kingdom...Mercs need to promote youth & talent. Feels like it's been stagnant at the top for far too long, people need to progress else they'll never learn/evolve. Toto bangs on about this but Merc seems resistant to change beyond words. Look at Aston, McLaren & even Redbull poaching of talent....then ask yourself why aren't we doing it on anywhere near a similar scale. New talent, ideas & ways of working be it internal & external are key to staying relevant in F1. Even Neqey himself churns through staff and talks to everyone from seniors to placement students. Always learning.
