Great vid. Been refinishing for over 35 years and currently have 2 UK version GTIs for color, would be lost without them. 1.5 and 1.6 fluid tips. For clear, I choose the copper Tekna for side panel jobs, the old GTI plus for larger trucks and hoods. Perfect combo for me.
If you could do a video of the new sata 5000. And the iwata super nova.. That be great. Im looking to buy one. Need to see if a 400 dollar difference would be worth it. Thx
maxnguyen22 Yep I do have a Supernova vid and I am also reluctant to spend the $$$ on the 5000 when the 4000 preforms like this. ruclips.net/video/NLdLUurnw-0/видео.html I actually have another 2 on the supernova if you are still interested just look for them from my uploads page.
Just ordered the supernova. Thanks to you. Ill do a video later on it brand new out the box. Was debating on that 5000 but shoot thats a 800 gun. So i just went with the nova
I saw a sata 5000b rp review and was shocked at the cloud of paint that filled the shop in about one minute ! That gun looks like it could produce a lot of runs and an empty cup real fast. I can see the pro lite will consume far less material and transfer far more to the panel. The Toyota came out nice right out of the gun. Looks like it had been wet sanded and polished. I like the gold metallic. Nice job Gunman !
i was gonna buy a sataJet 4000 digital to replace my very old gti until I started watching ur reviews and I ended up buying 3 x iwata bellaria's for the exact same price of 1 SataJet , I use 2 for basecoat and the other dedicated to clear coat only and I think it was the best thing I have ever done , they are such an awesome gun and so easy to use with excellent results every time , so thanks for the vids keep them coming
the gun debate is always a big one. however I brought a sata rp3000 and have done many big jobs in it. the review you have given is spot on. I have had iwat 400 and devilbus gti. I will be changing back to devilbus this year for sure
wow i was looking at the Sata Jet 4000B RP and the pro lite so now you convinced me to buy the TE20 Cap for Clear (Tekna Pro Lite USA), thanks gun man and a very fair price as well.
Great video dude, wish I had a booth to spray in! My basement is way too dusty to spray in, have ruined a couple of jobs down there (just diy stuff at home) but annoying none the less, thanks for these educational uploads man, keep em coming!
Thank you, finally someone who likes Devilbiss more than Sata! I love my Tekna Pro, and in the industry, I often see my co-workers struggling with their satas as I lay it on like cream on butter
thanks for the info. I have been out of the automotive painting arena for many years. Trying to refigure laying it down smooth on some projects I am working on. up untiI recently I have had no problems with a cheap gun except now I have been spraying vw busses. They are not forgiving when they are so flat. A very slight orange peel looks like a dry spot. Your videos I can Clearly see the difference. I have been painting off and on for 35 years. Used to be really big in automotive 25 years ago. I agree with you on the deviilbiss because of divisibility with interchanging caps. but I am still thinking the supernova might be the gun for clear. watching you with the Sata was enlightening.
“I was just goin’ for broke” man Aussie slang is second to none! I’m gonna say that the next time I hammer it on so hard I’m risking some serious hangers!! 😂
I definitely agree that the Sata people are very proud of their paint guns, but those are the guns I started buying first over any other because my rep was giving me a killer deal on them. Was getting my 3000 series HVLP guns for like 385.00. Think I paid around 410.00 for the 4000 series RP gun brand new. With a price like that, I gave it enough time to get very familiar with them. LOL
I haven't sprayed a car in fifteen plus years, but when i sprayed. i used the Sata msb 1.2 and that was a good gun. I will admit that the cheap star gun also gave me good spray jobs. I may spray again in the future! Don't know if my old guns a still good!
Explains a lot.... I am a mechanic but do the occasional paint job, so not in the booth every day. I have been persevering with the Sata RP and HVLP for years (both digital & both digital displays have failed), couldn't agree more with the review on the Sata... thought it was me! I have DeVilbiss FLG3 for primer guns and they are great so I will be moving to GTI's for base and clear guns when I have the pennies. Cheers Gunny
This was 3 years ago and still stands true that the iwata is among the best atomizing guns out there. And you nailed it on settings 2 1/2 turns out at 29 psi I personally use those and it's nice to know I was correct on my settings as I'm in school for this line of work and not a pro by far. I recently started watching your vids when Wonder how to blend metallics and decided to search this spray gun and see some paint jobs that turned out and your videos the first videos I came across. Btw the iwata w400 bellaria is $250 on Amazon.
Ive been a certified painter for 13yrs sherwin williams Ppg and house of kolor Ive used many guns from sata devebliss Iwata and harbor freight also even 3Ms newer disposable paints guns IWATA guns are the simplest easiest guns to clean and take apart I absolutely love iwata and would recommend to anyone no matter their experience Also we were told and instructed to flick the wrists years ago Now they tell us not to do what u were doing and it took forever to pick up a different habit but once i did wow it makes a difference
Rodney I find my self torn between investing in something like Iwata W101 131G AND a Sprayit kit. Do you think I can pull through based on the specs below - I only have tiny jobs to do, like spot repairs, small wood panels and whatnot, there are breaks and dead times in between, I can stop: For Iwata I plan on diluting primers to spray with the same nozzle (1.3 mm noz: www.ebay.ca/itm/ANEST-IWATA-W-101-131G-1-3mm-Gravity-Spray-Gun-with-400ml-Cup-PC-4S-W101/263157975355?hash=item3d4570093b:g:ze4AAOSwRXRZXEvJ ) VERSUS a SprayIt kit with 2 guns (and 4 heads : www.amazon.ca/SPRAYIT-SP-33500K-LVLP-Gravity-Spray/dp/B00C4S99L2/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=SPRAYIT+kit&qid=1568240642&sr=8-2 ) . I have available only a tiny compressor (4.8 cfm at 40 psi) the Iwata needs 5.1 cfm at 35 psi) and the SprayIt is right under at 2-4cfm for 30 psi. So not sure: 1) one quality gun and to dilute primer OR 2) lower tier guns and various caps.
I'm just a garage painter, I drive old cars that tend to need work, and my SO has a tendency to hit things so I have work to do every year it seems... I tend to paint outside in summer but I am looking at using my new shed as a paint booth. I have got several cheaper paint guns, a 1.8 primer, 1.4 I use for base coat and clear, and a 0.8mm mini gun I don't really know what it's for, woodworking finishes maybe... I've been thinking of a Devilbiss, heard a lot of good about it from you over the years so Devilbiss just has got this extra trustworthyness in my opinion, because I heard you say so many good things over the years. I would like a better gun for basecoat and clear, I think my 1.8 actually works OK for doing primer. I'm definitely thinking a Devilbiss but I cannot decide. Money wise the FLG5 is what I would go with, 1.3 mm tip. I've looked the GPG (formerly GPI) too but I am not sure if it's worth the extra cash over the FLG5 considering my amateur needs. The GTI Pro Lite would be lovely though but I cannot justify that kind of money. I have been thinking if I could buy a used GTI Pro Lite but I dunno if that's a bad idea.
one thing I do know is its hard to say things about a gun spraying clear,it depends on the clear. some clear flow together like water some you have to hammer or it just wont lay down. the clear your using I can tell melts like butter.
I'm gonna get one devilbiss I used a cheep eBay gun few years back like you said in this video loads of over spray and orange peal thanks man loads of help
Great video i really value different views and .it helps all painters become better at what we do my favorite gun is the lph 400 with the purple cap .....but i have found magic air pressure set ups for sata guns ..i can get amazing results with them . Lol because of you i now have the pro-lite with the t 20 cap im going to give a honest go this month ..your videos are great
In my opinion the best gun that sata ever made was the jet 90, today they are just overrated I paint with a Tekna Copper and a Tekna XV I have all the air caps for them the 909,202 and 7E7 good guns!! Great Videos!!
love ya stuff my brother congrats on the 160 + vids love ya style mate im in nsw aus and just about to start out i took your advice and bought my first gun and its a divilbiss sgk-600-BV
Most Sata guys I know have moved on to Devilbiss and the Tekna line in America. You still have some die hard Sata guys, but it’s more just value like you said. I keep my old Sata jet 90 because it reminds me of when Sata really was the big dog.
Man. Teknas are garbage for me I used to have the cooper edition and even the harbor freight gun made wonders compared to the my teknas so got rid of it
Thanks for sharing your information on the paint gun's.. I have a Sata and a iwata , but I will purchase the Devilbiss you are using with the 1.3 and te20 cap.. I respect your opinion , I am always looking for a gun that makes it easier and versatile to lay down paint and clear. I am new to painting and a DIY , but will paint my vehicle and use the Devilbiss. I also have my speaker cabinets to paint and need a all around paint gun.. plus it's a cool looking gun..
I know this video is 4 years old but as far as the SataJet 4000 b rp with a 1.2 it is a very excellent gun for waterborne base I didn’t like at all for clear with a 1.3 but with a 1.4 it does spray ms clear s pretty good the Iwata with a 1.3 is excellent for clear .My Tekna prolite comes with a 1.2,1.3,and 1.4 is an overall great universal gun for a starting apprentice or a one man operation .Sprays base great with the 1.2 and 1.3 and clear with the 1.3 and 1.4 and even some sealers just make sure it’s cleaned out very good if used for sealer. Satas are awesome guns I’ve been using Satas for over 20 years it’s all a matter of preference and what you are use to and what works for you 🙂
im a beater by trade but love painting, i use gti pros and they come out awesome, i picked it up and it just worked for me, the others i simply cant use lol. gtis seem to like thick high solid paints they just lay down so well.
I like Sata, particularly if you’re just smashing clear on a big job. I keep an old jet 90 for that. Any regular panel job I’ll take my Teknas all day.
First off I would like to say that I enjoy your videos. On the sata you seem to be moving to slow, since it does put out so much paint speed up (like you did with the iwata )or alil more overlap @75% then see how it comes out. I am not a pro but this is how everyone is getting glass finishes with satas.
A lot of new cars I see here in the US look terrible right from the factory. Sometimes it would be necessary to have a lot of peel just to match the rest of the car. What is the best way to match a lot of peel, and/or dry looking factory job?
Merry Christmas Gunman , i dont have much experience with all that guns , but i think SATA is a bit overrated somehow . You can achieve perfect results with Iwata and DeVilbiss too :)
Nice video, I'm about to order my GTI PRO LITE it looks like the best one and use use that one the most in your videos. Can you do a video on gun set up from start to finish. Thank your videos are a big help to us out here please keep them coming. Merry Christmas
I paint with axalta cromax pro. I found that the Sata with the WSB air cap is perfect with for the base coat far less over spray. If you use the 1.3 you do use alot more material though. I do use my Iwata for clear primarily but I just got a pro lite and I have been trying that for clear. it does seem to give me more orange peel then the Iwata I guess I need to get it dialed in more.
Informative video, no doubt. I'm a Sata fan myself. Really enjoy using the 3000 series HVLP Sata guns for my base coats as well as for my sealers, with a 1.3 tip & the 4000 series RP Sata guns with the 1.4 tip for my clear. Always leave the guns wide open during either application. Spray at around 30/32 psi, & can replicate any orange peel I need for the job with little if any trouble. I have however found that the Iwata LPH400 does really well for better atomizing certain metallics, but can't seem to pull away from my Sata's for overall appearance when it comes to the clear coat. Just my opinion & I really enjoy your videos.
+E Melchor You just have to be mindful of the appearance of the clear coats texture on every vehicle you spray cause you're having to repair and refinish back to pre accident condition. Some vehicles have a bit of orange peel and some do not.
+Joey Gonza LOL. It definitely pumps out material. Gotta be on the move when clearing but just got used to that gun years ago and became adjusted to it. I'm using the DeVilbiss GTI Pro Lite now with the TE20 air cap and the 1.3 mm tip. Puts out a very nice finish and doesn't pump out so much material.
Mate I love your vids with the sata you need to hang back on your second coat, bring the gun back further another 6 inches and move the gun slightly slower. You'll get a flat finish. I also think the iwata supernovas are better though.
The paint was peeling on the front of my work truck. it was just 1k with no clear. I got the best finish ever with a nice gloss when I noticed it had a nice bb sized dent. It really sucks cuz with all the missing paint you couldn’t see it. Now it’s like right in your face.
I have a 1.3 bellaria and I usually get runs so I got myself an another iwata which is the w400 wbx 1.3 classic and it is a lot better for clear but had to adjust the fluid.
Merry Christmas for yesterday champ. Yeh well said with the iwata and divilbiss, very good guns indeed. Data is way over price just like a Mercedes benz haha. I will be uploading some pics so you can have a look at the cars progression from start till about now. Maybe a vid if I can also. Anymore gunman shirts available still?
Hi Josh, yep I still have shirts but xl are running out, I have a few white XL but no more grey in XL but M & L grey is still available, if you can send me a private message through FaceBook then I'll take your order and tell you how to make payment, Merry Xmas and happy new year mate.
Ok awesome. I think I'm a large. Will get my sister to do it as she has fb and I don't lol. You too champ! Oh I'm about to put a video up on a truck I just finished spraying. Let me know what you think!
Stick with it man, first time I used one I didn't like it either I was using the HV30 cap but then used the te20 first time as you see at the end of this vid and loved it, you may find the te10 cap works better for you. Its more like the t110 you are used to.
Haha few upset sata fans in comments. 😅 starting in a shed at home thanks to your vids got the gold devilbiss gti pro and same first job turned out killa no effort. But I've used sata at tech school and they just feel bulky in the hand not as nice as iwata n devilbiss. But haven't used latest sata's which even gunny loves. So he aint a hater gunners 👊
As a SATA painter of 33 years in the US, I must say that the 4k series was not as successful a recipe as the previous 3k and the current 5ks. I own a Carl Avery edition 1.3 HVLP for base coat and a 1.3 B RP for clear, both digital models. I never had the issues mentioned in this video but that is a personal experience and opinion. In the US SATA is much more competitively priced than in AU, in fact TEKNAs are over priced here while the Iwatas are not as durable or rugged for daily, pro spraying. The GTI pro lite is not available in the US so I can't comment on them. I did own a GTI620 millennium I got on ebay US as a 2 gun set with a mini SRI PRO 1.0 . I absolutely love the SRi for spot jobs, what a nice gun! The GTI on the other hand, I sold because it was too damn heavy. The W400 is indeed one of the best clear guns ever made. I have the smaller compact W300 version. Thanks for the videos and spray on!
Hi.thanks a lot for your videos.I follow all yours videos from Mexico city. I need your recomendation .about wich primer gun not to much expensive but with good performace.recomend ?
I have an Airgunsa az3 1.8mm for primer and its great, good quality and not too expensive under $200 US. I have made a review and demo on this gun and it will be uploaded in a week so stay tuned.
merry xmass Gunman nice video of all 3 guns, its good to see a fair test.Personaly i agree on the pro lite's i personally have a pair of these 1 for base and 1 for clear.I also have a w400 iawata nice gun lay's clear down well.I alway's used sata's back in the 90's a nr95 beautiful gun.If you remember i am the Ferrari man but now I have moved to a Brittish super car manufacturer and they use data 4000 guns and i have since bought 2 of these but agree they can lay clear down a bit cheesy on a 1.3,but i use a rp 1.2 for clear and it is greatly improved and with practice you can lay clear down like glass, just like your perfect blue jag you did(nice work).Maybe try 1.2 see what you think.
ruben rumarate That kit is cheap but low quality, are you a hobby or DIY or starting an apprenticeship, if you're starting an apprenticeship I'd recommend a top quality gun like the Pro Lite as it will pay for its self in time and last a lifetime but for hobby diy use then the Devilbiss Finish Line gun could be a good option because it comes with 1.3, 1.5 & 1.8mm tip so can be used as an all rounder spray gun.
Ronald Flores I also have the 904he and was curious what others thought about it, had it for close to a year but never used it cause i only have a 20gal compressor
lasting impressions painting and tub refinishing try this set you psi as low as possible and still get about 26-27 psi at the gun, make sure the tank is full before you spray even is you have to make it kick on and fill it. You probably won't be able to paint anything larger than a hood. Try that see how it goes
whats really makess the differences with tips points? and when shooting clear how to manage the orange peel? Some tell me that high pressure has less orange peel. give me some tips... thanks.
allsome vid ive used sata sagola iwata 200-400 devilbiss running over 150-300 litres a week and found devilbiss hd advanced gun had lot better finish and savings overall with very little maintenance . iwata was good finish and paint saving was good aswell as price however seals were a let down sata and sagola not to bad for dumping paint however just as you said over priced
Hello GM... LOVE YOUR VIDEOS AND I'M A PROUD SUBSCRIBER. . im in the USA, will I have any issues if I order the GTI PROLITE Aussie version. or am I limited to the tekna pro lite USA version??
Hi Dwayne, thanks for the support man. You will have no issues at all with the GTI, there are only a few minor differences. The colour and ours have an air cheater valve where the Tekna doesn't, apart from that they should be identical from my knowledge.
Awesome! Is the w400 classic the same as the w400 lv4 we have here in the USA? My fluid tip has 3 wedge cuts couldn't really see yours and mine calls for max 20psi.
Hey great review on the guns. I going to try the gti pro lite. Wanted to ask you do have problems with the clear map the basecoat. The clear having same texture as the basecoat. Thanks Lee Cochran, US
Hey Gunman. I stumbled upon this video and It got me thinking. I don't know much about painting cars but I do detail and polish paint a lot. Anyway what got me thinking was I once met a guy with a Trans Am and he had it painted with kameleon paint. And he was telling me how expensive the paint was and it took GALLONS to paint a car. Is that true. I watched a video from swrc diyautoschool and he painted a 2014 mustang almost the whole car with like a quart or two of paint then clear. (I don't know the amount of cleat or anything but. After seeing these two videos I was like gallons to paint a car ?!? Anyway keep up the awesome work man! Thanks.
I have been enjoying your vids since Christmas Via the TV .Very educational and inspiring.Top job.I have been unable to click the thumbs up through the TV You tube so this contact is via laptop .There has probably been hundreds more views unlogged on TVs that never get logged as views. I just have cheaper guns and in fact my cheapest smaller gravity feed Chinese gun gives surprising results but have found the fan width is a lot narrower than what you show unless the product is thinner .Silvers are the only jobs that i noticed an issue with that under certain light. After watching this I think I will buy the GTiPro lite. Is it worth buying the TE10B-13 air cap also or could I possibly use the 20 for both base and clearcoats.I have a 17cfm 3 cylinder compressor. Also have a question with the effect cote. With holding the gun further away during the last drier cote to bring the metallic closer to the surface and to hide any unwanted metallic patterns that may have formed can that sometime increase the likely hood of orange peel? I like the uncut finishes and the deep shine seams to last longer than a cut and polished jobs. Good to see you in your own shop.I have been in Perth over Christmas periods and don't know how you can handle the heat in the workshop in those 40 odd degree days. I hope you still get the time to share your wealth of knowledge with us as I expect you will find there won't be enough hours in the day as your business gets established .Fantastic work you do ,You have a Kiwi follower here.. Thanks Gunman
Auto Elec Thanks for taking the time to comment mate, I love the heat I'm originally from Melbourne and think it will take a while to re adjust when I do move back. My new favorite gun is the DeVilbiss SGK its nearly as good as the Gti Pro lite but half the price. Just had a look on Ebay and this one is dirt cheap, I got mine for $200 and thought that was reasonable. They do a 2.0mm gun that I'm sure would be good for primer too. Your compressor should be fine for this gun too. www.ebay.com.au/itm/DeVILBISS-SGK-600BV-1-4MM-GRAVITY-GUN-/201313641982?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item2edf3a65fe
Thanks Gunman. The new SGK gun should have left Perth yesterday .I will have to watch more of your tips now for HVLP guns .Our air temp is far colder most of the time.I have never used gun mounted gauges. Are there crap gun pressure regulators to avoid or are some just more bulky, heavy. Great Vids. Cheers Mate
One thing about sata their guns i find are designed for next generation paints ...where i live i can only use water base and ultra low voc clear which dry and spray a little different. ....the sata 4000 handles these new clears amazing so i think they make these guns for that ..soon solvent base products will be a thing of the past ....and sata will be the bench mark gun
i have a sata jet 5000 with the digital display, VERY easy to use and nice flow!
Merry Christmas everyone hope you all like this video.

Mitchell Ferre Pro lite is the best gun on the market if you ask me. Thanks for watching.

Great to hear man, I love the Bellaria.
Very informative. I've only painted a few times and use Devilbiss guns.

Thanks man, to be honest I thought there was going to be more people ripping on me and defending the SataJet. Pro lite is awesome.
I bought a Prolight just because of your videos lol. The paint looks amazing
Same
wow i was looking at the Sata Jet 4000B RP and the pro lite so now you convinced me to buy the TE20 Cap for Clear (Tekna Pro Lite USA), thanks gun man and a very fair price as well.

AJDB
Keep your basement floor wet or damp, no more dust. Wet the floor the night before & again in the morning before you paint.
Thank you, finally someone who likes Devilbiss more than Sata! I love my Tekna Pro, and in the industry, I often see my co-workers struggling with their satas as I lay it on like cream on butter
Why would you put cream on butter??

Best gun ever made i Broght one for myself a yar ago and i tell you it the best gun. Devilbiss Gti Pro lite

great video. I appreciate the time you took. Im looking to upgrade my spray setup and this helped.
Ive been a certified painter for 13yrs sherwin williams Ppg and house of kolor Ive used many guns from sata devebliss Iwata and harbor freight also even 3Ms newer disposable paints guns
IWATA guns are the simplest easiest guns to clean and take apart I absolutely love iwata and would recommend to anyone no matter their experience

For Iwata I plan on diluting primers to spray with the same nozzle (1.3 mm noz: www.ebay.ca/itm/ANEST-IWATA-W-101-131G-1-3mm-Gravity-Spray-Gun-with-400ml-Cup-PC-4S-W101/263157975355?hash=item3d4570093b:g:ze4AAOSwRXRZXEvJ ) VERSUS a SprayIt kit with 2 guns (and 4 heads : www.amazon.ca/SPRAYIT-SP-33500K-LVLP-Gravity-Spray/dp/B00C4S99L2/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=SPRAYIT+kit&qid=1568240642&sr=8-2 ) .
I'm gonna get one devilbiss I used a cheep eBay gun few years back like you said in this video loads of over spray and orange peal
thanks man loads of help
Great video i really value different views and .it helps all painters become better at what we do my favorite gun is the lph 400 with the purple cap .....but i have found magic air pressure set ups for sata guns ..i can get amazing results with them . Lol because of you i now have the pro-lite with the t 20 cap im going to give a honest go this month ..your videos are great
I am looking forward to your thoughts on the Pro lite
In my opinion the best gun that sata ever made was the jet 90, today they are just overrated I paint with a Tekna Copper and a Tekna XV I have all the air caps for them the 909,202 and 7E7 good guns!! Great Videos!!
love ya stuff my brother congrats on the 160 + vids love ya style mate im in nsw aus and just about to start out i took your advice and bought my first gun and its a divilbiss sgk-600-BV
iwata LS 400 BEST GUN EVER!!!!
Definitely very good, been using them for years.
Definitely up there.
Long story mate but painting a bmw race car friday and scored a second hand gti. I'm stoked it's in great condition and now going to sell my sata.
Nice man, is it a gti pro, pro lite or just the original gti?
think just a gti but im selling my satas so gti pro or so is on the cards
I recommend you do because they are a big step up from the gti, but the gti are still an awesome gun.
Gunman don't worry I watched your Vid and got the answer thanks again Robert
Most Sata guys I know have moved on to Devilbiss and the Tekna line in America. You still have some die hard Sata guys, but it’s more just value like you said. I keep my old Sata jet 90 because it reminds me of when Sata really was the big dog.
Man. Teknas are garbage for me I used to have the cooper edition and even the harbor freight gun made wonders compared to the my teknas so got rid of it
@@josegalindo1262 do you use waterborne?
Thanks for sharing your information on the paint gun's.. I have a Sata and a iwata , but I will purchase the Devilbiss you are using with the 1.3 and te20 cap.. I respect your opinion , I am always looking for a gun that makes it easier and versatile to lay down paint and clear. I am new to painting and a DIY , but will paint my vehicle and use the Devilbiss. I also have my speaker cabinets to paint and need a all around paint gun.. plus it's a cool looking gun..
all the best gunman .great video on some great guns thanks for sharing this .
Satas are awesome guns I’ve been using Satas for over 20 years it’s all a matter of preference and what you are use to and what works for you 🙂
Excellent comparative. Congrats !
love your great work, SIR
im a beater by trade but love painting, i use gti pros and they come out awesome, i picked it up and it just worked for me, the others i simply cant use lol. gtis seem to like thick high solid paints they just lay down so well.
DeVilbiss for the Win!
The Gunman switching to a Devilbiss, hope to get better results than the lph400 iwata
I like Sata, particularly if you’re just smashing clear on a big job. I keep an old jet 90 for that. Any regular panel job I’ll take my Teknas all day.
Great vid mate. Merry Christmas and all the best for the new year.
Cant be the DeVilbiss GTi Pro-Lite for quality and value for money - honestly the best gun on the market, and half the price of a Sata!!
Hey Gunny, Learning lots keep em coming. Merry xmas and a Happy New Year to you and loved ones. Cheers
Thanks Scott :-) Merry X-mas and Happy new Year to you and your fam too :-)
Excellent explanation and advise on guns. Great video.
First off I would like to say that I enjoy your videos. On the sata you seem to be moving to slow, since it does put out so much paint speed up (like you did with the iwata )or alil more overlap @75% then see how it comes out. I am not a pro but this is how everyone is getting glass finishes with satas.
Gracias Enrique por tomarte el tiempo en explicarme
Muchas gracias
A lot of new cars I see here in the US look terrible right from the factory. Sometimes it would be necessary to have a lot of peel just to match the rest of the car. What is the best way to match a lot of peel, and/or dry looking factory job?
Knowledge and trial and error, I could write a 3 page essay on it but I'll just work on a video for you.
Hi mate, a wise decision indeed on the Pro lite, and I will do that for you a basic guide on how to use it.
Potential dumb question i paint aircrafts, why would you want to replicate Orange peel.
+E Melchor You just have to be mindful of the appearance of the clear coats texture on every vehicle you spray cause you're having to repair and refinish back to pre accident condition. Some vehicles have a bit of orange peel and some do not.
Soke makes and models have factory orange peel
+mactoe1
1.4MM for clear ? WOW!
I thought 1.2MM was too much already.
+Joey Gonza
LOL.
Nice work on the car. Great colors
Mate I love your vids with the sata you need to hang back on your second coat, bring the gun back further another 6 inches and move the gun slightly slower. You'll get a flat finish. I also think the iwata supernovas are better though.
Is there a dent in that vw? Back right door?
Yes, but it was a blend panel and they didn't want it fixed, I just do what I'm told and I was told to paint it :-) good spotting.
The paint was peeling on the front of my work truck. it was just 1k with no clear. I got the best finish ever with a nice gloss when I noticed it had a nice bb sized dent. It really sucks cuz with all the missing paint you couldn’t see it. Now it’s like right in your face.
Sata 👍
Nice work man!!. I've spray a few cars and want to Learn more about guns and spraying tips.
Anest! the honda of the refinish world homes.
Love these videos!!
nevermind caught it in the video it is the same for anyone wondering. thanks!
Nice review!
Thanks mate.
Very nice vid. Tnx for this one and all the others. ;) merry xmas.
Great video as always
Hola, soy Gabriel desde Argentina, muy buenos los videos. Saludos
Thanks a lot, good test job. Hello from Iowa U.S.A.
+Gene Wiley thanks mate from sunny Perth WA
I have the tekna copper, and just bought the gti prolite black with the t110 . This one should have a better clear finish
The Gunman is #1
How pressure i must use for base coat and how for clearcoat ? ... and how many turn in fluid?? thanks man , greats videos
I have a 1.3 bellaria and I usually get runs so I got myself an another iwata which is the w400 wbx 1.3 classic and it is a lot better for clear but had to adjust the fluid.
Buen trabajo que pistola recomienda la Iwata ?? 400
Could you please take a look at the Warwick 904 love your videos definitely have been a great tool.
If its easier just give me your email address and we can chat through email. Send me a link when you have the vid up.
It's up mate. Email is blacksmith.Nolte@gmail.com
Dunno how to link it to you from a phone lol. Have a look on my profile it should be visible.
Yeah its hard from a phone, I'll keep an eye out on ya page. I'll email you now.
Merry Christmas Gun!
Thanks man, you too :-)
I've been using a pro lite this week I can't decide if it sprays better than my gti pro. I've tried the te20 and te10 but I still prefer the t110.
Stick with it man, first time I used one I didn't like it either I was using the HV30 cap but then used the te20 first time as you see at the end of this vid and loved it, you may find the te10 cap works better for you. Its more like the t110 you are used to.
Hi Gunman tell me whats the difference with the T10 and T20 air caps like fan and volume of paint coming out ok mate thanks
I have made a review and demo on this gun and it will be uploaded in a week so stay tuned.
as usually i really apreciate your help. thanks a lot. for your attencion.
merry xmass Gunman nice video of all 3 guns, its good to see a fair test.Personaly i agree on the pro lite's i personally have a pair of these 1 for base and 1 for clear.I also have a w400 iawata nice gun lay's clear down well.I alway's used sata's back in the 90's a nr95 beautiful gun.If you remember i am the Ferrari man but now I have moved to a Brittish super car manufacturer and they use data 4000 guns and i have since bought 2 of these but agree they can lay clear down a bit cheesy on a 1.3,but i use a rp 1.2 for clear and it is greatly improved and with practice you can lay clear down like glass, just like your perfect blue jag you did(nice work).Maybe try 1.2 see what you think.
Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to you
Thanks man, all the best :-)
Can you suggest what is the best spray gun brand and model to a beginner like me I would like to purchase the devilbiss starting line spray gun kit
ruben rumarate That kit is cheap but low quality, are you a hobby or DIY or starting an apprenticeship, if you're starting an apprenticeship I'd recommend a top quality gun like the Pro Lite as it will pay for its self in time and last a lifetime but for hobby diy use then the Devilbiss Finish Line gun could be a good option because it comes with 1.3, 1.5 & 1.8mm tip so can be used as an all rounder spray gun.
i have the starting line 2 gun kit no problems so far it came with 3 tips and a small touch up gun
Merry X-mass Gunman, Have you ever had the chance to use any of the Warwick line Spray guns 904 or 980
I have both the 980he and 904he good guns, well worth the money
Ronald Flores I also have the 904he and was curious what others thought about it, had it for close to a year but never used it cause i only have a 20gal compressor
lasting impressions painting and tub refinishing try this set you psi as low as possible and still get about 26-27 psi at the gun, make sure the tank is full before you spray even is you have to make it kick on and fill it. You probably won't be able to paint anything larger than a hood. Try that see how it goes
Ronald Flores
Thank you Sir, will give it a try
Ill post one of the Warwick this week.
whats really makess the differences with tips points?
and when shooting clear how to manage the orange peel? Some tell me that high pressure has less orange peel.
give me some tips...
thanks.
Yes thats correct, higher pressure will leave you with a finer peel, also hold the gun nice and close.
also which gun you can really mimic the orange peal?
gti or tekna pro lite te20 1.3mm
allsome vid ive used sata sagola iwata 200-400 devilbiss running over 150-300 litres a week and found devilbiss hd advanced gun had lot better finish and savings overall with very little maintenance . iwata was good finish and paint saving was good aswell as price however seals were a let down sata and sagola not to bad for dumping paint however just as you said over priced
Thanks mate great help 👍🏼
you are the best mate!
it looks great the application what kind gun youre using
Harbor freight purple gun.
Spraygun 👍👍👍
Muy bien saludos desde venezuela gracias.
Nice work bro. thanks for the video. CHEER'S
daltons channel No probs, thanks for watching.
Looks good and advice is good
Thanks.
Hi Gunman, really learning a lot from your vids - thanks. Can you give me any views on the DeVilbiss SRI HD?
I don't have one and It was a long time ago that I used a SRI, sorry I couldn't be more help.
Eastwood has a three gun kit have you ever tried them.
1.3 rp 3000 digital ftw. 2.0 bar
Great Vids. Cheers Mate
I've found the devilbiss, Sata & Iwata regulators last a lot longer than any other cheaper brands and you save $$$ in the long run.
Between the devilbiss pro lite and the iwata lph400.. Which will be a better clear gun? Which will be better for base?
grande pintor continua assim na minha openiao a sata e a mehor mas tambem gosto muito da devilbiss felis natal
One thing about sata their guns i find are designed for next generation paints ...where i live i can only use water base and ultra low voc clear which dry and spray a little different. ....the sata 4000 handles these new clears amazing so i think they make these guns for that ..soon solvent base products will be a thing of the past ....and sata will be the bench mark gun
yeah I do agree this gun is better for base than clear.
What are you spraying for water?
Solvent base.
iwata and DeVilbiss and one of the best paint guns
I agree, both awesome guns.
ola eu sou o celio de portugal ai no teu pais nao a standox waterborne?
