- The 2 big guns get put head to head here in this review & demo on the SATAjet 5000-B RP 1.3mm Digital VS Devilbiss Gti (Tekna) Pro lite 1.3mm TE20, it's not an easy comparison because both guns have strong points.
This is a 100% independent unbiased review, based on my opinion.
I will be demonstrating on a VZ Maloo Ute painted in Sting Red Paint code F143 using Cromax Basecoat and Standox HS Clear.

Auto paint is a hobby for me, I don’t do it for a living, but I can honestly say you have some of the most impressive work I’ve seen. And you sold me on Devilbiss years ago. I have a GTI pro lite and love it! I use the 110 tip, as I’m pretty slow with my spraying. The 110 likes the slow cruising.
Great review! I just decided to to pop on the Tekna ProLite , same kit as mentioned, TE10 / TE20, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 needles for $359 US so a great deal. I have a booth I can rent with good air supply and for the small projects I'm doing it will be the last spray gun I will ever need. Keeping my Eastwood Concours for primer and small quicky jobs on my home compressor. Thanks Gunny, best painting vids on the internet!
Dear Gunman,
I recently taken a intrest in panel beating, from watching online RUclips videos. I think your videos are really terrific. I love how informative and "real" you are about what your doing and your finishes. I'm a tradie in construction, so quite different to you . But i find the prep, fill sand and espocally the spraying really amazing. Your are an amazing tradesman, very passionate and dedicated. And it shows with the end results.
Keep up the amazing work.
I just painted the shit out of my vt ss roof tonight. Couple of little dust bits. But with all the vids ive wached of yours over the years and the amount of painting ive done a little dust dosn't even bother me these days . Thanks gunman for taking the time out to make these vids.it blows my mind how much i improve every time i paint.
awesome video as usual apparently my FLG 5 is at customs just waiting for fed ex to bring it home. i bought this as you recommend this gun so im looking forward to trying it for the first time. The Flg5 will be a step up I think. i have started using a 2;1 hs clear that makes a difference in my work, heating it up in hot water and i put it in the car lol works fantastic . because of you and your channel ive become much better and more aware of what im doing. we all learn from you thanks man :)
Thanks I just ordered a Devilbiss yesterday. Will be spraying base coat clear coat.🇨🇦
SATA 5000 with 1.3 tip is my favorite for clear!
I've seen this video over and over because I've been looking into buying one of these two guns for a while and I haven't been able to choose from the two but lately my financial situation has changed so I might be going with the Devilbiss both great guns. love your videos I watch them every morning before I start work they motivate me to do better through out the day. great work and great reviews gunman. shout out from the TopShelf Paint and Body crew out here in Rosenberg, Texas USA
Sai my Brother, okay?
First I want to congratulate for the videos, I learned many things about paint guns and many curiosities, and what makes me happier is knowing that all pistols BINKS, SGK, BVK and FLG that were produced in Brazil and went to the Devilbiss England, United Kingdom and United States, and you as knowledgeable of these tools know what are of Brazil.
And all went through my humble little company, which made the surface finish, sanding and polishing the bodies of pistols, triggers and breeches.
I am Owner of ABM POLISHES LTDA-ME, who for 11 years has kept as main customer the Devilbiss equipment for Painting.
And the sad thing about all this is that after 68 years in Brazil, the Devilbiss ended its activities in Brazil, and since 01/2018 isn't going to produce any more, just the Devilbiss provider here.
Devilbiss pioneers in spray guns for sure, nice little history on Thomas Devilbiss, nice video, i learned to paint cars some 20 plus yrs ago, nice video again.
Thanks for the videos, I'm a newb, DIY guy to painting and your reviews helped me land with the Tekna Pro Lite. This vid just reaffirmed my choice.
I'm an industrial painter, been using my own gun, a TeknaPro for ever, but my company got us some satajet 5000 HVLP's, and I have to say, they are amazing. The one complaint me and my painters have is the air regulator - there is less than one eight'th of a turn from full blown to nothing at all.
You got it buddy the sata 5000 is a fantastic gun . I see ur running the 1.3 there pretty good but smash on the clear I use a 1.2 with uhs clear and it is really amazing . The 1.2 really cuts down the paint consumption and lays down the clear . The 5000 wsb (hvlp) is also a fantastic gun when used with water Bourne u can really save product .
I have both guns and I love the way the sata flows the clear on big panels but I like the way the devilbiss put base down though...
I own both , both Spray awesome but I feel the Sata has a slight edge over the tekna prolite when it comes to clear, tekna for base Sata for clear, is what I feel is a good combination 🤙🏻
I bought a 5000B HVLP and a 5000B RP for $1000.00 for both as a gift for a friend. He said it was a good deal. The RP had been used 2 times, and the HVLP was new in the box. The guy I bought it from said he needed one that used 19 PSI and these were 26 PSI. I hope he likes them. He does high end restorations.
Check out this article i just wrote up on the SATA 5000

The Gunman Thx!
Great spray gun shootout ! The tips on what air caps to use with different material is very helpful. I trust your advice way more than general information from manufacturer. It's pro lite for me ! Thanks Gunman !
Thank you for doing this. I started watching your videos about a year ago and finally ordered the Tekna Prolite this evening. I found your videos very informative and hope I can translate all the reading and watching and get my 71 Riviera into black bc/cc this year.
2 turns out, full fan and 2 bar and you can't go wrong. And I'm an apprentice 👍
Jessica Naumann ı wanna gun but whichone should ı buy ? Devilbiss or sata ? Sorry my English not good
Yes. SATA is not for beginners. Until you learn to spray fast the SATA will give you only headache.
Buy DeVilbiss, it is /very/ slow gun, you have time to watch what you are doing.
when using a sata they make you buy the entire nozzle set as a kit rather than just one air cap or needle. That's why it's $350. Their's comes with a needle, air cap, and fluid tip. They are machined to fit perfectly but I do agree the price tag is a bit ridiculous and I wish you could replace individual parts cuz shit happens. Nice work !
The deal is: In America, time is money. Every shop sells nothing but time. We, north american painters and businessmen want speed above all. SATA has adapt to the needs of the American market because it is the largest market in the world. It is evident in this video that for a pro painter that wants to be in and out of the booth, SATA is the way to go. I was going to buy a pro lite just to try it out, but after this video I've changed my mind. It is just as slow as the Iwatas. Low exposure to fumes is where you want to be as a professional refinisher. In and out as fast as you can!
+Renato I think his bases for the speed was dependent on flow rate and nozzle & cap size. The versatility of the Prolite would give you the ability to spray faster if so needed. Also in US, many dealers offer a Digital gauge adjuster which works great and still cost less than a Sata 5000. But yea i agree, if you are a pro and can work fast, and still get a quality job, then sure the 5000 seems more apt to the task. But i wouldn't want to use one as a beginner.
+Themayseffect why not as a beginner. I never painted. I bought a 60g$500 husky compressor. also $80 grinder,$260 buffer, $200 on lights, $300 on tools, $100 on Palm sander. I need a Spray gun that's great?DID GARAGE TEXT IN MAKING.
well said bro those are facts on paint /claircoat use
Themayseffect g
@@Themayseffect Agree, SATA 3000 and up for skilled PRO only. That gun saves time. /But not nerves/.
Devilbiss is the one for me.
There is orange peel also, on the Sata clear surface. After puffing, it is not matter which gun you use.
Another great vid. I got the US Tekna kit you mentioned with 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 and TE10 and TE20 for $360! I will never need another gun, so good for my garage painting.
Douglas Wells, where did you purchase your Tekna at for that price? Cheapest I can find is $100 more than that. - Thanks
I used the sata jet 90 back in 1994 spraying shutters topcoating only very good spray with they were very expensive even back then the needle and air cap set were a burn cost wise
Over torquing the head behind the nozzle on the devillbus is a issue that kills the white gasket . Also warps the head two finger torque wrench works well
Gunman I greatly appreciate the information.
???? What Cap and needle size do you reccomend for a 2k Base Coat and possibly clearcoat only gun in the gti pro lite,, I'm new to painting but want the flattest finish I can get
I just ordered a 1.3 WS 400 Supernova for dedicated clearcoat gun, your opinion on the best base coat gun would be greatly appreciated Gunny...Thank You Sir
Just bought a sagola 4600! Just used a 5000 and loved it.wich gun would you choose for clear?
I have the Sata 4000 and personally prefer its wider quicker passing wet layer coat where the atomizing happens a little bit further back from the panel your painting..
Couldn't agree with you more Gunman and I own both guns. Please try that 5000 again at 2 bar when you get a chance, I think you'll being even more impressed. 😉
one more time¡¡
great video.
give us a good idea about the comparison about those couple great guns.
happy hollidays gunman
from mexico city
great video good comparison ..im still stuck on the sata 4000
Very good review, I always find you to be balanced in your comparisons. Thanks got the video.
hello gunmen it's nice seeing you purchase a satajet5000. I just got one is a satajet 5000 hvlp 1.3 tip. I was wondering if it will lay my clear like the rp.
Great vid. I think the Pro lite feels better in my hand than the Sata rp. I have a large hand and wear xl size gloves, so that may make a difference. Getting ready to use the Tekna for first time soon. Great vid and great review Gunman.
Double R Restorations can you help me. What model number for clear coat do you have ? 1.3 or 1.4. What is better , what number recommend for clear coat and paint ? Thanks 🙏
Hey Gunman love all the vids!!! If you are ever in Newcastle be great for you to use our crazy retractable booth and do a review! Keep up the good work.
I have a question, if your painting the same color should you use a sealer, I get different answers. THANKS
Hello!
Thanks for great video!
Could you advise what tip to use for solvent paint on Gti pro lite? ( t20 or HV30 ) and as I understood sata 5000 will be better for clearcoats? Or it is ok to get 2 Gti pro lites with different tips? Many thanks in advance
What kind of clear is that? i run Spies Hecker clear with a sata 4000 rp with a 1.2 tip works awesome had it 2 years. the reason i ask is not all clears would take pounding it on like that without solvent popping or hazing out the next day
Gunman thanks for this video comparison. Which of the 2guns do you recommend for single stage urethane? I'm a beginning and have been spraying single stage urethane with Devilbiss flg3. Good results. I'm getting ready to start larger project and planned to buy Tekna Prolite because I used one at Sherwin Williams and liked it. But my paint shop talked me into the Sata 5000. I'm having remorse. Which of the 2 guns would you recommend for a novice spraying single stage urethane?
Pro lite TE20 1.3mm
Hey brother love the videos. How long are you waiting for flash between coats? Looks like you have quite a bit of clear getting layed. Just wondering if you run in to solvent pop often.
hello gumman a question. I have a gun accuspray 1.4 3M and always the clear coat is a big orange peel. could you tell me how I can do for not orange Peel. thank you very good videos always I see all
+moi1480 Sell the Accuspray. Get a different gun. Life is too short to fight Orangepeel.
+waterman8761 I new painting car so I think that one were good. what do recommend me? I just have painting three car and very bad look.
the gunman, will you do a review on the devilbiss plus gun. you're videos are great thanks.
one day if I get one but check this, it's very similar ruclips.net/video/HtoBGwrFa3o/видео.html
Hi, Gun man i like your videos, im a wood painter so please could you advice what to use as spray gun for this work, devilbiss pro lite or sata 5000 RP?
THANKS A LOT.
REGARDS.
Still be the pro lite because of it's versatility, you can change the air cap and go from LVLP to Conventional to HVLP and it is absolutely perfect for refinishing, maybe the SATA 5K if I was doing Custom painting where they wanted dead flat every time.
+The Gunman thanks for your fast respond , i read that i need an 1.8 nozzel for primer so can i use the devilbiss gti pro lite for primer?
Sorry for my bad english :) .
No not the pro lite for primer get the GPI www.spraygunsdirect.co.uk/
1.8mm
but it will cost me too much , do you know a good spray gun for all those works(primer , base coat , clear coat...)?
I got the tekna pro for $320.00 from industrial finishes here in the us. they had a great deal came with the spare tips and air caps with the regulator just did not come with a cup. I have not used it yet but thanks for the great review
Hard to beat man, I just made a top 10 spray guns vid and it took out 1st spot.
+Chris Mansker Do you happen to have a link to the gun?
+The Gunman You know what gunman? For a pro in America that makes $79K to a $100K the prolite just doesn't cut it. Versatility is irrelevant when you must have several guns for different applications and devoted to those particular applications. I have a gun for each individual application. A primer gun that lays out my primer nice and smooth so it is easy to sand. I use a GEO sv HVLP 1.9 for that. I use a SATA 3k 1.3 for wet on wet sealers and bumper adhesion promoters. I use a SATA 4k HVLP 1.3 for most base coats and a Geo Genesi for difficult light metallics in hot weather. For clear I use 3 guns depending on the size of the job. A Sata 3k/4K and 5k BRP 1.2 with flowing coats on both ms and hs clears. All you really need are 4 guns as a pro, plus a good mini for tight jobs like rad supports and spot repairs that require low overspray. I use the only devilbiss that I ever bought after the jga 502 was outlawed in America and that is the SRIW. Best mini gun ever invented, other than that , in my humble opinion, devilbiss is not worth the money. Cheers mate, great stuff you got here on you tube!
PS: I spray Spies and Standox and on occasion Sikkens and De Beers.
Chris Mansker
Where are in located in the US...we have a industrial finishes here in Elkhart, In
I find the 5000rp suits very well for big area Base coat allocated. no gun will ever beat laying down marine clear through a pressure pot 0.8mm 🤙🤘
For big area a Wagner Cobra 40-10 is unbeatable. No any gun in world can even come close to it.
For speed of painting again no gun in the world can come close to it./at same quality/
Get a No.17 tip and you can spray gelcoat.
Get a No.12+Plus tip and you can spray car clear on yacht with ease. You won't need to cut and polish it, you get so good finish.
I got 2.5mm pressure pot for fast setting gelcoats, it's fine for prototyping/small jobs but making a boat mold for example you need something more than a conventional spray gun.
That's where big area starts and you have no chance to cover it with a cup gun in 5 minutes or less. Not to mention holding that weight, you get tired after short time holding even classic PPS size cup full of thick gel.
With polyester gelcoats you have to be really fast, and you cannot use inhibitors for first layer when making prroduction mold, that's where Wagner comes to play.
It's made for production work, all day use, results.
But that's another story, SATA5000 cost 600 euros, Wagner Cobra starts somewhere at 4500 euros...
@@jankatzenbach2596 I don't touch gel coats but and if I did it would be with a brush 10 coats screen it and board the grandma out of it then through the grades. The paint work I do is awlgrip and awlcraft 2000 and SE range from tenders to 90ft metallic boats 🤙
I appreciate your input though bud thank you. catch me on instagram to see my work fozzey4018. I did a flybridge 88 Princes with matte black with my sata 5000 and I'm telling you it looked mint wasn't patchy anywhere and that was hull deck hardtop, seating area, garage platform the whole boat looked sick
Do you have plans to review WALCOM GENESI HTE in the future?
one day
I’m just starting off what’s best gun to buy? Been looking at both but don’t know what’s best and best type of setup I would need for base and clear
Brilliant well explained great finish love it
Hi Gunman, lovin the vid's, keep them up mate. I'm looking buying a devilbiss, I'm not sure what model to buy bearing in mind I only spray motorcycle parts, tanks etc. I own a Sata 4000B which I feel is too big for the work I do (if that makes any sense). I run it with the standard 1.3 nozzle it came with, I looked into buying another nozzle but the price scared me off !! . What model Devilbiss would you reccomend for bike work, the GTI does sounds right up my street....... price is an issue as it's only a hobby for me, cheer bro
Update, ended up buying a Devilbiss SRI Pro lite with a 1.0 fluid tip, used it once and love it, I feel I might go up to a 1.2 or 1.3 tip but apart from that great stuff
I use HS clear most of the time. What air cap do you suggest for the devilbiss pro lite if I am going for a euro orange peel? HVLP cap? Also same question for MS clears. Thanks!
The HV30 (HVLP) is the best for HS and achieving the euro peel, TE10 is good for a small compressor (LVLP) and MS clear, and the TE20 (conventional) just about does it all and can handle HS or MS clear, adjusting the way you spray with the TE20 you'll be able to replicate just about any peel. I love my pro lite te20 1.3mm.
+The Gunman Thanks! I've been using the TE20 because I thought that's what I was supposed to be using but I used the HV30 last night and around 26 psi and it came out awesome! Plus I think I ended up using a lot less material than I have been using which is a nice plus. I ended up winding the fan in just a tad is that normal? It was shooting too much like a figure 8 at 29 psi. I'm using a HS clear from SPI (southern polyeurethane) and I use a 1.4 tip.
The good thing about the pro lite is that you don't have to wind the fan in but can if you want, it'll prob speed the passes up a bit cos its concentrating on a slightly smaller area, but man if you've found something that works then keep doing it. Yes the HV30 used properly will consume less paint, quite a bit actually.
Hi!huge fan of your work, i've seen all your videos, when can we see some more? I live in the UK and I plan to buy a Sata jet 5000 b rp, but it's very expensive here....i found some in italy at a very good price, you said you buyed it from there as well, i want to know if the guns from italy are genuine and not some fake copies....thanks and keep up the good work!
Eres mavilloso en la pintura con tecnologia de avamzada deseo saber mas sobre sata y devillbis gti gracias amigo ,ahora yo vivo en japon .
Si vives en Japón allá están las iwata, también son muy buenas
Im new to this and I am wondering why your booth is wet? Just curious if it was just cleaned or if there is a specific reason as to why you are using it.
limits the dirt from being airborne
best job gunman
you are very good! needle and adjusted to what ? and the fan?
full fan 3 turns needle
thank's you are top !
Hey Gunman been awhile! Hope all is well! Q... Do you feel it necessary to have the third adjustment knob at the bottom of the handle? Seems the USA models do not have the??? Thx again mate!
Uploading now mate just been flat out with work. I have some guns from the USA that have no pressure adjustment knob and just run a gun reg and it's all you need, they just have them on our guns so you don't have to use a gun regulator.
Great videos mate, if you were going for mirror finish , t110 vs Rp 5000
i spray my sata @1,8 bar with the 1.2mm fluid tip. but i usually spray uhs clear coats have tried lower pressure but does not really work... if u think that the 5000 puts out alot of paint you should try a sata 3000 RP with 1.4 mm run at 2.2 bar with every thing wide open you can run and paint with that thing its crazyyy ;)
kim öhberg
Hey I find myself struggling as of late with Standox 2k Premium UHS clear with the 5000 RP 1.2. any recommendations for this gun with UHS clear? I'm having trouble finding the sweet spot between having it lay out nice and running it...and I've been painting for 7 years but this clear is probably one of the most difficult to use imo.
Do you use a go pro for recording?? Im too nervous about the overspray. Wouldn't it fuck up the camera lens?
Hi Gunman I purchased a sata 5000 B RP 1.2 tip and used your recommended settings (2 turns out) and found it VERRY slow to use. I am used to the gti pro lite 1.3 with TE20 and love it, very fast gun. What am I doing wrong?
Leave the fluid open, it's not a slow gun at all
What kind of paint are you spraying Gunman? I'm spraying Standox solvent and seem to have to fight like hell with blending fine silver and gold metallics only over or across the hoods. Spraying with an Iwata LPH400. What would you recommend?
I do get air baffling if I don't get that white seal put back in just right but other then that I love this gun with te 20 cap 1.4 lays clear beautifully..
Hey Gunman greetings from Puerto Rico. I like you videos alot. I wonder, what you think about Sata jet 3000 1.2 for the HS clearcoats?
you mentioned that other Divilbliss fluid tips will fit on the Tekna pro lite. What 1.8mm will fit my gun? I'm shooting Plasti dip topcoat using a 1.5mm tip and I'm seeing cobwebs. I'm being told I need a bigger tip to shoot Topcoat with my gun. Need help bad!
Sagola 4600 extreme mini vs devillbis sri minijet !? Wich is The Best ? For spot repair
my first gun a DEVILBISS JGA502 Built in Barrie Canada early 1970s $125
Is the Tekna slower than the Sagola 4500 Extreme? They seem to have the same speed from all your videos. Let us know please.
@TheGunmanChannel I follow your RUclips channel. Excellent material.Maybe it's not the video related to devilbiliss. Sorry but I need helpCan you help me with this question?I have a devilbiss Tekna pro lite. Will the T110 head be compatible with my gun? The manual says PRO 103. I have searched on Amazon, eBay and Spraygundirect and only PRO 101 or Pro 102 appears.
I would appreciate it if someone could advise me in a video that they left the Pro lite version for America and the Gti version for Europe. I have asked on the official devilbiliss and spraygunsdirect sites and have not received a response. Thank you.
awesome results
I don't know much of anything about painting but could you tell me how much is 1 bar when painting?
1 bar is 14.5 psi
I appreciate it. I was wanting to figure out how much 3/4 bar is . I should have just ask you that the first time. but how do you know how much psi for 1 bar or 2 bar?
Most analogue gauges have both on them, Google is your friend. 3/4 of a bar is 10.87 psi, use this calculator for future reference.
www.google.com.au/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&rlz=1C1CHBD_en-GBAU722AU722&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=3/4+bar+to+psi
What about base coat for the sata 5000 what tip should u use? And thank
Can i put a 1.8 fluid tip and needle on a Devilbiss Tekna Pro lite? I plan on spraying primer, conversion varnish, basecoats and clear. With conversion varnish its recommended to use a 1.8 but I also do automotive painting. I cannot find information on the pro lite saying you can put a 1.8 tip on it. I'm assuming you can use other Devilbiss tips with the tekna but I'm no expert.
+The Gunman, hey gunman I have a tekna prolite te20 with 1.3 and 1.4 fluid tips. what are the setting and psi for base and clearcoat that is working for you?
This guy is amazing!!! You know, got one too and your question sounds very interesting for me. Hopefully the gunman takes a little time to let us know the answer. He seems very busy guy. Thanks.
If you already know the answer feel free and let me know.
Hola . Saludos desde la Rivera de chapa la Jalisco Mexico
ive got 11 cfm compressor.will this gun work.if not than recommend one
+Aiyaz Khan
you will struggle alot, especially with HVLP. You can still do a single small panel with RP. an air regulator is a must
im about to buy my first gti prolite what cap do you u recommend i do
Youre a spectacular painter man. I'm 23..probably been painting for a year and a half and happy to say I'm a lead painter for the shop i work with. Kinda just caught on really fast and never looked back. I do have a lot of trouble with coarse metallic silvers. Some like ford silver (UX) or Mazda grey (38P) Do you have any advice in reducing the "halo" or spotty effect those coarse metallics can create? I looked at your mottling video but didnt really learn what I needed to. Any help would be awesome.
ive been able to reduce mottle on silvers by just increasing air pressure when spraying colour. if I see mottle I tend to mist thr base on those areas, not the convential way of spraying base but misting it on after seeing mottle helps cover
+DzDeadlyy Spray your basecoat wet like clear coat for your first coat. Apply a control coat with tight overlap over it after it flashes off. That should eliminate your mottling issue. Other trick is turn off your booth light and use your sun gun while you spray your control coat. Don't ask why, just do it and you'll see. :) Halo is caused by improper blend or wrong side tone of the basecoat being applied. If the side tone of your basecoat is near perfect or pretty close, you shouldn't have halo when you blend. What is your paint line? 12 years experience painter.
+EvolutionIXRR thanks. When u say wet like clearcoat that almost seems like to much. I've never tried it.. Figured it would cause more mottling. but I will certainly give it a shot. What do you suggest? Almost like 2 coats in 1 or something? We use ppg envirobase waterborne base coat.
+DzDeadlyy No it is not too much that would actually save you more paint. I paint all the cars with just two coats. First coat is wet second coat is control coat. First coat should be your coverage and your second coat should be your control coat or effect coat that will even up your metallics.
+EvolutionIXRR hm wow. Do u spray solvent based? I usually tend to spray 3 wet coats and then a drop coat for metallics. Some red and blues I go to maybe even 5 coats because they don't cover well even when sealed. I'd be weary trying just 2 coats. Maybe when I get a small fender job on a silver car I can test it out! Thanks again
hello what are your settings on the sataplease?I can not varnish any more thank you. I have orange peel
hey gunman,
any suggestions why my clear coat stays soft even after 3 days? I am using nason 468-00 2k clear.
try using some catalyst with that clear. Good Luck.
What is the difference in the Sata. 5000 RP and HVLP.
RP is basically a conventional setup, but tilted a bit toward hvlp to meet pollution standards. Best for clears. Devilbiss, Sata, and Iwata all offer gun pairs that gear hvlp for base and an rp type for clear.
were you using standox paint/clear
+its nunya business you're testing my memory now, but I think it was Duxone
what guns would you recommend for bicycles frames ?
These spray guns are too big they are for complete paint jobs for all my bike painting I use the IWATA LPH-50 excellent for painting bike frame tubes where they meet in tight places always paint a bike frame upside down first then right side up
@@SchwinnXchange I mean I can paint anything with a regular sized gun lol, but if it's easier for you to use a mini gun then go for it. I haven't used a mini gun in 4 years but found myself getting one just to have if i want to use in situations.
wow great video
Question for you. I have been finishing cabinets and other fine furniture for ten years, I Own a sata rp 5000 1.2. I am now currently a supervisor of spray booths. I have always wanted to get in to spraying cars. Is spraying the same "for the most part " from wood to cars. Is it just different chemicals but the general spraying aspect is the same? Curious!!! I want to spray cars... and metal!!! Please respond!!!
A useful video from a pro.
So I should get a 1.2 tip for clear coat ?
Yea that is what is recommended nowadays in the US at least for the 5000 rp that came with our Standox system. We use 5000 HVLP 1.3 to base and RP 1.2 for clear, probably oriented around material saving. You can use 1.3 for everything if you like the way it clears. 1.4 works for base becomes a bit too heavy to clear with imo but can be done. You'll notice as times progress the tip sizes get smaller because transfer efficiency is better as technology gets better in spray guns.
Great video man. Can I ask a related question? I have an FLG4 which works really well. I am having to spray solvent and waterborne. I have the waterborne FLG4, I am wondering if I need two guns two spray with. This Pro Lite would be my choice, I have heard conflicting reports on using one gun for both. I am spraying PPG Envirobase and various PPG solvent products. Thanks man!
+asicerik I have ran a dedicated clear gun for years now and highly recommend it, it lowers the chance of contamination not necessary but better
Pro lite mate!
how much pressure are you running?

Hello, Great and informative videos. I am seeing tons of Devilbiss Pro Lite brand new guns on eBay for anywhere between $80-$100 U.S. Are these the real deal?
They are definitely cheap Chinese copies. I'd stay away
Brilliant well explained
Great review. I'm going for Devilbiss Gti, thanks.
